  • The proliferation of advanced technologies has been altering our lifestyle and social interactions-the next frontier is the digital home. Although the future of smart homes is promising, many technical challenges must be addressed to achieve convenience and security. In this paper, we delineate the unique combination of security challenges specifically for access control and consider the challenges of how to simply and securely assign access control policies to visitors for home devices and resources. We present a set of intuitive access control policies and suggest four access control settings based on our in-person interview results. Furthermore, we propose the automated Clairvoyant access right assignment (CARA) mechanism that utilizes home owners' social relationship to automatically deduce to which class a visitor belongs. The combination of CARA and the suggested mapping provides a promising first step for home policy assignment such that nonexpert home owners can let visitors use their home network with confidence. We anticipate that future research can build on our proposed mechanisms to provide confidence to non-expert home owners for letting visitors use their home network.

  • Global warming, which is one of the most serious challenges, has been the subject of intense debate and concern for many scientists, policy-makers, and citizens for at least the past decade. To protect the health and economic well-being of current and future generations, we must reduce our emissions like carbon dioxide. Alternatives to achieve an energy future without serious global warming are to change to clean and renewable sources of energy like the wind, the sun lights, rivers, the biomass, hydrogen, and oceans. To identify some of the key and new environmental impacts associated with renewable energy and hydrogen energy, we set up the new conceptual methodology. Specifically, new identified environmental and health impacts are related with the usage of hydrogen energy. When comparing with fossil fuel, the renewable energies can reduce the release of carbon dioxide when they are used except hydrogen produced from fossil fuel. However, all renewable energy technologies are not appropriate to all applications or locations. Our results suggest that all of alternatives to replace fossil fuel can release the several global and local impacts although they seems to be smaller than the impacts from fossil fuel. Therefore, the quantitative and detail analysis to assess environmental impacts of the alternative energies might be useful to make our decision for the future energy against the global warming.

Unresolved problems in Ukraine regarding the modernization and improvement of the education system by means of informatization are highlighted. The need for further improvement of Ukrainian education by means of informatization is noted. Formulated the main goal of future education. The necessary conditions for the successful development of future education are highlighted. The role and place of the key figure of the teacher in the education of the future is determined. The article highlights the theoretical and philosophical foundations of professional subjectivity of the future specialist. Recently, the world's pedagogical thought has increasingly focused on how to build an educational process so that it brings a sense of happiness to all its participants. It is believed that this is a new management philosophy in general, although its origins are in ancient Greek sources, which claim that only a happy life has meaning and value. It is found out that the professional subjectivity of a specialist is an important professionally significant quality of the individual, which provides a purposeful and optimal implementation of their mental, personal resources for solving professional and life problems, which is manifested in the desire for self-definition, self-determination, self-regulation and self-improvement in professional activities taking into account the information society. The structure of this phenomenon is shown.

  • Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is one of the most promising home network middleware technologies because of its straightforward implementation and zero configuration characteristics. However, it has a limitation of the operations only IP based network and proceeding in a single IP subnet. In this paper, we proposed network bridge architecture for UPnP network to interoperate heterogeneous network, UPnP and ZigBee. The proposed network bridge architecture is capable of configuration ZigBee device as a virtual UPnP device. This technique is promising for seamless inter-networking with ZigBee and UPnP network. Also, the architecture of the proposed network bridge architecture can be applied for a future smart home.

  • In the global market competition, countries and businesses are actively engaged in technology prediction activities to maximize their profits by attempting to enter and preempting the core technology of the future. In this paper, we propose a growth model based on patent application trends to predict the time to replace a product with a promising new technology to dominate the market. Although the Fisher-Pry model that Bhargava generalized to predict the emergence of promising alternative technologies was relatively satisfactory compared to the original Fisher-Pry model, it was difficult to predict the replacement rate behavior properly due to a parameter problem. The application of the Fisher-Pry Modification Model in the form of a quadratic equation through the patent trend analysis of the optical storage system for the purpose of verifying the time alternative to the light storage technology has resulted in satisfactory verification results. It is expected that small and medium-sized companies and individual researchers will apply this model and use it more easily to predict the time to replace the market for promising replacement technologies.
