아연도금 강재의 용접성에 미치는 돌기 성형 및 피복조건의 영향 (Effects of Projection Height and Post Treatment on the Resistance Projection Weldability of Zn Coated Sheet Steels)

  • In this paper resistance projection weldability of Zn coated steels with post treatment has been discussed. Projection welding was performed by a condenser discharge type power source which was equipped with welding parameter monitoring system. Mechanical test results indicated that the effect of post coatings on the projection front changed showing very small very small spattering at the weld strength was negligible. However, contamination rate of the block electrode varied depending on the post treatment coatings. Test results also showed that projection height before welding should be kept to be 80-100% of the specimen thickness as far as the surface quality was taken into consideration. Based on the high speed photography, discharge condition at the beginning stage of the welding process. It was considered that the spattering reduced the weld strength slightly at the optimum heat input range.

영상인식 기술을 이용한 프로젝션용접 자동화시스템 (An Automated Projection Welding System using Vision Processing Technique)

  • 수작업에 의한 기존의 프로젝션(projection) 용접시스템은 작업자의 부주의로 인한 불량이 자주 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 비전카메라를 사용하여 부품과 제품의 인식, 용접 및 수량 관리를 자동으로 수행하는 프로젝션 용접시스템을 제안한다. 제안 시스템은 비전카메라를 사용하여 용접에 사용되는 부품의 유무와 놓인 상태를 검사한다. 그리고 부품의 용접 후에는 제품 수량 카운터와 드레싱 등의 항목을 자동 갱신한다. 기존 시스템과의 비교 실험을 통해 불량률을 감소시키고 생산성을 높일 수 있음을 보인다.

  • A roll projection welding machine is introduced to fabricate metallic sandwich plate consisting of a structured inner sheet with projection-like shape and a pair of skin sheets. To fabricate the metallic sandwich plate of consistent and good quality, two process monitoring methods are introduced; dynamic resistance monitoring and skin sheet temperature monitoring. Dynamic resistance monitoring has no time delay but gives only averaged value over plate width. Skin sheet temperature monitoring has certain amount of time delay but is good for predicting weld quality of specified position. By the two complementary monitoring methods, the characteristics of the new welding process is successfully understood.

  • In today's highly competitive marketplace, it is of great significance for the manufacturing industry to reduce lead-time and costs fur the product development. Since first emerged in 1986, Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology has helped successfully to reduce time and costs. Recently, RP using functional materials such as metal has been researched. However RP using the molten metal has been struggling to resolve several drawbacks, such as dimensional inaccuracy, poor surface finish, post finishing, etc., that originate primarily from the overall deposition of molten metal for each layer. So, the purpose of this study is to develop a new RP technique using sheet metal and projection welding for reducing several drawbacks in occurring RP using molten metal. Also tensile and bending specimens were made by the developed RP process using projection welding and were verified.

초소형 튜브와 튜브판의 링 프로젝션 용접 공정개발 및 강도 평가 (Development and Strength Evaluation of Ring Projection Welding Process of the Microminiature Tube and Tubesheet)

  • Microminiature heat exchanger has been applied to the gas turbine in order to increase energy efficiency. During the production of microminiature heat exchanger, however, it is very difficult to weld tube to tubesheet. In this study, therefore, welding process of resistance ring projection was used, and weld tensile tests were performed. Sound weld joint was obtained as a result of applying resistance ring projection welding to microminiature heat exchanger to tubesheet. Cold weld occurred at under 1600A. Even though tensile strength was increased with increasing current, splash occurred and tensile strength decreased at 2000A due to the excessive current. Therefore it was determine that the optimal current is 1900A. As result of tensile tests based on ASME code for tube to tubesheet weldment, rupture position was weldment due to Fs(Fractured section) of nugget, which was smaller than tube thickness (t), and it was proven as a partial strength welding because of the average joint efficiency fr = 0.90.

  • Metallic sandwich plate has many good properties such as high specific stiffness, high specific strength, good impact absorptivity, effective thermal insulation and soundproofing. In our study, a new bonding method, 3-layer roll projection welding, is introduced to fabricate the metallic sandwich plate. The new method uses a pair of roll electrodes like the seam welding, and projection welding is made at two internal interfaces of the 3-layer weldment consisting of a structured inner sheet and a pair of skin sheets. During the welding process, skin sheet temperature are measured to produce metallic sandwich plate with uniform and good quality. But it is difficult to observe or measure the temperature at the welding points during welding process because the welding points exist at the internal interfaces. Therefore FEM numerical analysis using ABAQUS is conducted to estimate the generated heat at the welding points with different welding conditions.

딥 러닝 기반의 이미지학습을 통한 저항 용접품질 검증 (Verification of Resistance Welding Quality Based on Deep Learning)

  • Welding is one of the most popular joining methods and most welding quality estimation methods are executed using joined material. This paper propose welding quality estimation methods using dynamic current, voltage and resistance which are obtained during welding in real time. There are many kinds of welding method. Among them, we focused on the projection welding and gathered dynamic characteristics from two different types of projection welding. For image learning, graphs are drawn using obtained current, voltage and resistance, and the graphs are converted to images. The images are labeled with two sub-categories - normal and defect. For deep learning of images obtained from welding, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is applied, and Tensorflow was used as a framework for deep learning. With two resistance welding test datasets, we conclude that the Convolutional Neural Network helps in predicting the welding quality.

링 프로젝션 돌기의 용입정도가 ECV 조립공차에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Annular Projection Collapse on Tolerance of ECV Assembly)

  • Due to the inherent dimensional uncertainty, tolerances accumulate in the final assembly. Tolerance accumulation has serious effect on the performance of ECV assembly. This paper proposes a method of tolerance accumulation analysis using Monte Carlo simulation, which includes welding process in assemble process. This method can predict the final tolerance distributions of the completed assembly with the prescribed statistical tolerance distribution of each part to be assembled. With the inclusion of welding, another dimensional uncertainties due to partial melting is to be accounted as well. Partial melting of projection height was included in the tolerance propagation analysis. Verification of the proposed method was performed by making use of Monte Carlo simulation. Monte Carlo simulation results showed promising results in that we can predict the final tolerance distributions in advance before actual assembly process of precision machinery.

  • 소형 공조장치용 냉매 압축기 부품인 기계식 제어 밸브는 에어컨 컴프레서의 핵심부품이고 년간 수백만 개가 국내에 수입된다. 이를 국산화 하기 위하여 진공로 속에서의 브레이징 공정이 수반되는 외국제품의 제조공정을 탈피하여 진공 속에서 DC 프로젝션 용접을 수행하는 기법을 개발하였다. 실린더 형상의 캡과 케이스를 맞대고 그 사이에 박판을 삽입한 상태에서 butt welding 방식으로 진행되는 본 공정에서는, 생산성이 높고 서보가압 장치를 사용하여 soft touch 를 구현하므로 프로젝션이 손상되지 않은 상태에서 통전이 시작되고 2 단 가압 및 프로파일 가압이 가능하므로 링(ring)형상의 너깃이 축대칭으로 안정적으로 형성되기 때문에 실린더 내부의 밀봉성능이 우수함을 확인하였다. 진공로 속에서 본 가압장치를 설치하여 간편한 방법으로 실린더 내부의 진공상태를 유지할 수 있기 때문에 진공로 속에서의 브레이징 공정이 적용되는 외국제품보다 생산성이 월등함을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서 개발된 링 프로젝션(ring projection) 용접기법은 초소형 및 소형 실린더 형상의 부품 내부를 진공으로 유지해야 하는 산업현장에서 당장 적용될 수 있는 혁신적인 용접공정이라 판단된다.

  • Joint strength of spot friction welded 5J32 Al alloy were investigated according to the tool shape and the tool penetration depth. General spot friction stir welding tool consists of a shoulder having bigger diameter and a threaded pin projected from the shoulder, which resulted in the generation of large up-lifting of upper plate around the weld nugget because of the deeper penetration and the severe stirring effect of threaded pin. Two kinds of welding tools without the threaded pin were used to avoid the distortion and improve the joint strength. One was a simple cylindrical shape and the other was cylindrical shape with small projection. Therefore, the process was named as spot friction welding comparing to spot friction stir welding because spot friction welding don't use a stirring effect. Using the cylindrical shape tool with small projection, the up-lifting of upper plate were avoided and joint strength were superior to that of the joint using simple cylindrical shape tool. At the 0.5mm of too penetration depth using cylindrical tool with small projection, nugget pull fracture mode can be observed and shear fracture mode were dominant at the rest conditions.
