Report on One Case of Adenomyosis (자궁선근증 1례에 대한 임상보고)

  • This study was designed to evaluate the effect of oriental medicine therapy on a adenomyosis. The patient was admitted to the OBGY department of Wonkwang university in Gwang-Ju, from 20th August 2004 to 7th September 2004, from 20th September 2004 to 1 st October 2004, from 20th October 2004 to 27th October 2004. She was treated with herbal medication, herbal acupunture etc. After this treatment, improvement was seen in dysmenorrhea (low abdomen pain, low back pain), profuse menstruation, the amount of black blood clots. The study suggests that oriental medicine therapy is significantly effective in the treatment of adenomyosis.

Clinical Study of Kamitongkyung-tang's Effects on 3 Cases of Adenomyosis (가미통경탕(加味通經湯)으로 호전된 자궁선근증 환자 3례에 대한 임상보고)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to report the effect of Kamitongkyung-tang on adenomyosis. Methods: Three women who were diagnosed with adenomyosis were enrolled in this study. They were supposed to have blood aggregation, so received oriental treatments to decrease blood aggregation and promote blood flow. They took Kamitongkyung-tang internally 3 times a day and were taken acupuncture therapy 3 times a week during about 3 months. Results: The most common symptoms of adenomyosis were menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea. After the treatment, symptoms of adenomyosis decreased and ultrasonography showed good results. Conclusion: These clinical cases indicated that Kamitongkyung-tang was effective in the treatment of adenomyosis. More clinical data and studies are needed about the treatment of adenomyosis.
