사육기간에 따른 오리사 내 오리 생산성 분포도 조사 (Investigation of Duck Production Distribution in Duck Housing As a Function of Breeding Period)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the distribution of duck production in duck housing as a function of the breeding period. The items in duck production distribution included body weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and average duck production. All data were based on eight cycles (June and December, 2017; February, June, August, September, and November, 2018; February, 2019) at Farm Site 1 through 7. The most optimal results in the duck production distribution were observed at Site 1 for weight gain, feed intake, and feed efficiency. This could be explained by the fact that Site 1 was well managed in environmental improvement and sustainability. Based on these data, selective alternatives to improve duck production in duck farms are recommended as follows: first, proper management and recording of litter used as a flooring material are required, and second, continuous management such as temperature, relative humidity and ventilation is needed. Lastly, it is necessary to change duck facilities by introducing environmental management techniques. Furthermore, efforts to improve the overall facilities and management of duck breeding farms through additional field studies are needed in the future.

  • This paper considers single-product production and inventory management problem where cumulative demands up to each time period are mutually independent random variables(known) having continuous probability distributions and the associated cost-minimizing production schedule (when to produce and how much to produce) need be determined in rolling horizon environment. For the problem, both the production cost and the inventory holding and backlogging costs are included in the whole system cost. The probability distributions of these costs are expressed in terms of random demands, and utilized to exploit a solution procedure for a production schedule which minimizes the expected unit time system cost and also reduces the probability of rist that, for the first-period of each production cycle (rolling horizon), the cost of the "production" option will exceed that of the "non-production" one. Numerical examples are presented for the solution procedure illustration.cedure illustration.

쌀의 저장기간이 쌀 첨가 요구르트의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Storage Period of Rice on Quality of Rice Added Yogurt)

  • 본 연구에서는 우유에 탈지분유 또는 저장기간이 다른 3종의 통일벼(86년산, 88년산, 89년산)를 각각 2%(w/v) 첨가하고 젖산균(Lactobacillus 4종, Leuconostoc 1종)으로 발효하여 커드상의 요구르트를 만든 후, 저장기간이 다른 쌀의 첨가가 젖산균의 산생성과 커드상 요구르트의 품질(관능성, 점도, 저장성)에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 쌀의 첨가로 젖산균의 산생성이 대조군(우유로만 만든 요구르트)보다 촉진되었는데, 젖산균의 종(種)에 따라 다소 차이는 있으나 쌀에 의한 젖산균의 산생성 촉진효과는 쌀의 저장기간에 의하여 현저한 영향을 받지 않았다. 관능검사의 결과를 보면 우유에 첨가된 쌀은 저장기간이 다르더라도 요구르트의 관능성에 현저한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 점도 측정의 결과를 보면 쌀의 저장기간이 경과할수록 쌀 첨가 요구르트의 점도가 증가하였으며, 커드상 요구르트는 thixotropic flow의 특성을 나타냈다. $5^{\circ}C$에서 15일간 보존된 쌀 첨가 요구르트의 저장성은 첨가된 쌀의 저장기간에 관계없이 우수하였다.

  • DEA(data envelopment analysis) is a technique for evaluation of relative efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) that have multiple input and output. A DEA model measures the efficiency of a DMU by the relative position of the DMU's input and output in the production possibility set defined by the input and output of the DMUs being compared. In this paper, we proposed several DEA models measuring the multi-period efficiency of a DMU. First, we defined the input and output data that make a production possibility set as the spanning set. We proposed several spanning sets containing input and output of entire periods for measuring the multi-period efficiency of a DMU. We defined the production possibility sets with the proposed spanning sets and gave DEA models under the production possibility sets. Some models measure the efficiency score of each period of a DMU and others measure the integrated efficiency score of the DMU over the entire period. For the test, we applied the models to the sample data set from a long term university student training project. The results show that the suggested models may have the better discrimination power than CCR based results while the ranking of DMUs is not different.

  • This is a project presented to obtain Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Production. The candidate has to present 20 costume illustrations and four full constructed costumes for selected actors. At the presentation, the candidate is given 45 minutes to present followed by questions asked by the committee and audiences and it was presented and exhibited in Brookline Arts Council. The thesis consists of two parts; research and analysis on the play, and the result of the design and production for the $play^{1)}$which consists of four fully built costumes-two in chosen fabrics and the other two in muslin with full closure worn on selected actors for each character. The period for the costume design is the Elizabethan period, the actual period the play Hamlet was written in England. The play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is a play written in 1967 from a view of two small characters from Shakespeare's play Hamlet. So the costumes of Hamlet's characters are in full period, but the main two characters' costumes will have some of modern twists.

  • Forty bull calves of Sahiwal crosses were fed either urea treated or untreated rice straw with 4 levels of Gliricidia (0, 1, 2, and 4 kg fresh material). Dry matter intake (DMI) of straw and Gliricidia was measured during 2 periods. Straw intakes in period 1 and 2 were significantly different (P<0.001). Supplementation of Gliricidia depressed the DMI of straw during the second period (P<0.01), but not in the first period. Urea-ammonia treatment increased straw intake and total intake in both periods, but the increase in dry matter digestibility (DMD) of the ration was not significant (P>0.05). Liveweight gain (LWG) was increased significantly, both by urea ammonia treatment (P<0.01) and by supplementation with Gliricidia (P<0.001). Animals on treated straw gained on an average $137\;g{\cdot}d^{-1}$ more than those on untreated straw.

  • In order to expand the material recycling of waste plastics made of composite materials, it is necessary to develop the use of material recycling products and to secure their quality stability. In this paper, as a basic study to secure the stability of the quality of household waste plastic material recycling products, the quality characteristics of recycled materials according to the production period were compared and reviewed. In addition, the average tensile strength of the recycled products by production period for 4 months was 12.33 MPa, and the average density was 1.35 g/m3.

Optimization of Citric Acid Production by Immobilized Cells of Novel Yeast Isolates

  • Citric acid is a commercially valuable organic acid widely used in food, pharmaceutical, and beverage industries. In this study, 260 yeast strains were isolated from soil, bread, juices, and fruits wastes and preliminarily screened using bromocresol green agar plates for their ability to produce organic acids. Overall, 251 yeast isolates showed positive results, with yellow halos surrounding the colonies. Citric acid production by 20 promising isolates was evaluated using both free and immobilized cell techniques. Results showed that citric acid production by immobilized cells (30-40 g/L) was greater than that of freely suspended cells (8-19 g/L). Of the 20 isolates, two (KKU-L42 and KKU-L53) were selected for further analysis based on their citric acid production levels. Immobilized KKU-L42 cells had a higher citric acid production rate (62.5%), while immobilized KKU-L53 cells showed an ~52.2% increase in citric acid production compared with free cells. The two isolates were accurately identified by amplification and sequence analysis of the 26S rRNA gene D1/D2 domain, with GenBank-based sequence comparison confirming that isolates KKU-L42 and KKU-L53 were Candida tropicalis and Pichia kluyveri, respectively. Several factors, including fermentation period, pH, temperature, and carbon and nitrogen source, were optimized for enhanced production of citric acid by both isolates. Maximum production was achieved at fermentation period of 5 days at pH 5.0 with glucose as a carbon source by both isolates. The optimum incubation temperature for citric acid production by C. tropicalis was 32 ℃, with NH4Cl the best nitrogen source, while maximum citric acid by P. kluyveri was observed at 27 ℃ with (NH4)2 SO4 as the nitrogen source. Citric acid production was maintained for about four repeated batches over a period of 20 days. Our results suggest that apple and banana wastes are potential sources of novel yeast strains; C. tropicalis and P. kluyveri which could be used for commercial citric acid production.

동치미의 발효중 $CO_2$ 발생특성 ($CO_2$ Production in Fermentation of Dongchimi (Pickled Radish Roots, Watery Radish Kimchi))

  • $CO_2$production in fermentation of dongchimi was measured and interrelated with changes in pH and titratable acidity. The effects of salt content and temperature on $CO_2$production rate were analysed. Fermentation of dongchimi showed drastic pH decrease in early stage and subsequent levelling off around 3.9, with linearly increased acidity up to 0.3~0.4% optimum quality. $CO_2$production of dongchimi could be analysed to consist of two consecutive stages of constant rate. The first stage $CO_2$production of higher rate moved to the second stage of lower rate when acidity rose beyond 0.3%. When compared to those of 1 and 2% salt content, dongchimi of 3% salt showed lower $CO_2$production rate in the 1st stage and slower acidity change through the whole fermentation period. However, it resulted in the product of highest $CO_2$accumulation at optimal ripeness because of consistent $CO_2$production of longer 1st stage period and relatively high $CO_2$production rate in 2nd stage. $CO_2$production depended on temperature less compared to acidity change(activation energy: 57.3 and 44.3kJ/mol for $CO_2$production of 1st and 2nd stages, respectively; 79.3kJ/mol for acidity change), which means higher ratio of $CO_2$production rate relative to acidity increase at lower temperature. Slower increase in acidity at low temperature also was shown to extend the period of 1st stage $CO_2$production. Therefore, low temperature fermentation was effective in producing the high $CO_2$content dongchimi at adequate acidity, which is desirable organoleptically.

Relationship Among Reproductive Traits and Brood Production Pattern of Caridean Shrimp, Palaemon gravieri (Decapoda: Caridea: Palaemonidae)

  • Reproductive traits of Palaemon gravieri such as embryo size, number of embryo (fecundity), incubation period, larval development mode, larval development period, larval survival and larval growth were described and compared to analyze the correlation among those traits. Embryo volume is a primary factor determining other ensuing reproductive features. Egg volume was $0.042mm^3$ in the first developmental stage. Embryo volume in P. gravieri was comparatively small which is indicative of great number of embryo (y = 3.0161x + 0.0185 $R^2$ = 0.74 positive isometric relationship) and relatively long incubation period. Larvae survived from zoea 1 to post-larvae and it took 45 days at $22^{\circ}C$. Survival rate of the larvae was rather great in the early stage and thereafter steadily decreased. Daily growth rate of larvae in P. gravieri at $22^{\circ}C$ was 0.0195 mm on average. They grew steadily as time went by. Incubation period was between 10-14 days at $22^{\circ}C$. Larval development mode was almost complete planktotrophic. PNR (point of no return) appeared to be the third day on average. Survival rate of larvae without feeding declined rapidly between 3 and 4 days. Larval development period and stage frequency were 23-30 days and 11 stages which imply prolonged larval period and high mortality. The pattern of brood production followed fast successive parturial pattern. Most ovigerous female had mature ovary when they performed parturial molt soon after hatching (larval release).
