통합 제품-서비스로의 이행: 문헌 연구, 분류 체계, 연구 방향

  • 최근 제조 기업들의 가장 큰 화두 중 하나는 제품과 서비스의 통합이다. 그간 제품과 서비스 통합과 관련한 다양한 개념들이 제시되어 왔으나, 정의 및 유형에 대한 보편적인 프레임워크가 존재하지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 제품과 서비스의 통합에 관련된 다양한 개념들을 아우르는 포괄적인 용어 (umbrella term)로써 통합 제품-서비스(integrated product-service: IPS)를 제시한다. 기존 문헌 연구를 통해 IPS 관련 기존 개념들을 개괄하고, 이들을 Product/service fusion과 Product/service Convergence의 두 가지로 분류한다. 다음으로 IPS를 유형화하기 위한 분류체계(typology)로써 IPS 큐브(cube)를 제시한다. IPS 큐브는 통합의 형태(pattern), 원천(origin), 기술(technology)의 세 가지 차원으로 구성되며, 각 차원이 모두 세 가지 유형으로 구분되기 때문에, IPS 큐브는 27개의 셀로 이루어진 정육면체 형태를 띤다. 각 셀은 고유한 IPS 유형을 나타내며, 각 셀에 해당하는 실제 IPS 사례들이 제시된다. 본 연구에서 제시한 IPS 큐브는 유형별 IPS 개발을 위한 전략, 프로세스, 방법론을 개발하는데 있어서 유용한 시사점을 제공해줄 수 있다.

An Investigation of the Multiple Effects of Personalization in Shopping Apparel Products (의류제품 쇼핑과정에서 개인화의 다면적인 영향)

  • Fashion business is undergoing a severe competition because of the various consumers' needs, over production, and short product life styles. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of personalization in apparel shopping. Characterizing the notion of the personalization typology, investigating the effect of personalization to different consumers, and providing useful issues to draw more target consumers are to be accessed. For empirical research a survey method was employed. A measure for personalization in apparel shopping was developed based in existing scale items and pilot study. Consumers responded highly on design personalization in shopping apparel products. Factor analysis extracted six dimensions of apparel product personalization. Six types of personalization were: "personalized advice", "personalized design choice", "personalized fit", "sales-promotion personalization", "personalized costomer relationship management" and "in-store personalization".

  • This study focuses on the data schema and data content, which includes maintenance data, data structures and illustration data relevant with the maintenance process of ship and offshore structures. Product lifecycle management (PLM) is expected to encompass all the product data generated for the operation and maintenance information as well as the design and production. This paper introduces a data exchange schema in PLM of ship and offshore, serving as the basis for the role of standards required by the middle-of-life PLM. Also this paper identifies a typology of standards relevant to PLM that addresses the schema of evolving standards and identifies a XML schema supporting the exchange of data related with maintenance operations. Technical document based on standards in accordance with S1000D and Shipdex is explained. A case study illustrating the use of standard data exchange and technical document is presented.

Segmenting Fair-Trade Apparel Consumers Based on Product Knowledge

  • The purpose of this research was to develop a typology of fair-trade apparel consumers and present a clear overview of the influence of product knowledge on consumer behaviors. A two-step cluster analysis was used to classify respondents into sub-groups based on their level of self-perceived knowledge and purchase experience. In addition, ANOVA was used to test the predictive validity of the cluster solution. Income was the only demographic variable that significantly differed across groups. The more familiar and more experienced group had higher income than the other groups. Psychographic data showed that attitudes and moral norms varied across groups. The more familiar and more experienced group had more positive attitudes and higher level of moral norms than the less familiar and less experienced group. In terms of behavioristic data, groups differed significantly in purchase intentions and willingness to pay more for fair-trade apparel. That is, the more familiar and more experienced group was willing to pay more and had higher purchase intentions than the less familiar and less experienced group. Overall, the level of product knowledge and purchase experience were considerably low. This study thus confirmed the need to increase consumers' familiarity related to fair-trade apparel products.

Consumer Values Derived from Products by Consumers: Difference among the Four Types of Products Classified with Product Attributes and Visibility (소비자가 제품에서 추구하는 소비자가치: 제품 속성과 가시성에 따른 4가지 제품유형을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand consumer values derived from products by the contemporary consumers, as the meaning of a product is extended from the functional utilities to the mediums of fulfilling consumer values. Consumer values have been researched from the marketers' perspectives and, thus, the scales to measure consumer values tend to be too abstract and not always reflective of the consumers' perspectives. Holbrook's typology of consumer values is utilized and the products are classified into four groups according to the product characteristic of the utilitarian versus hedonic, and the consumption spaces of the indoor and outdoor. The findings are as follows. First, the values of efficiency, excellence, ethics, and spirituality are more likely derived from utilitarian products, while the value of play is more likely derived from the hedonic products. Second, the values of efficiency, excellence, and ethics are more likely derived from the indoor products, and values of playfulness, esthetics, status, and respect are more likely derived from the outdoor products. Third, the most frequently mentioned values are the efficiency, playfulness, and status. Fourth, the list of products answered as being representative for four types of products are short to include obvious products such as TV, mobile phone, computer, car, refrigerator, and MP3 player. Both the utilitarian and hedonic values are derived from TV, computer, and mobile phone, while the utilitarian value from refrigerator and car, and the hedonic value from MP3 player, digital camera, and game consoles. The results imply that consumer values should be carefully understood and reflected in developing new products in order to successfully fulfill consumers' underlying needs and requirements.

The Effect of Interfirms Communication on the Financial Performance due to New Product Development (거래업체간 의사소통이 신제품 개발로 인한 재무적 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently many companies build interfirms cooperation based on their trust. These typology of partnerships play important roles for good results especially for joint product development. Therefore the purpose of this article is to investigate the role of interfirms communication in B2B market. We also investigate interfirms communication affecting the result of new product performance through two relationship factors(trust, conflict) in B2B market. Data were gathered from respondents who work in industrial buying center. Major findings of this study are summarized as follows: First, communication has positive effects on trust but negative effects on conflict. Second, trust is shown to have positive effects on cooperation and new product performance. However, conflict is shown to have negative effects on cooperation and new product performance. As a result, interfirms communication derives new product performance. In conclusion, this study means that we tried to investigate the human relationship in B2B market.

A Study on Typology of Proportion in Product Form (제품형태에 있어서 비례의 유형에 관한 연구)

  • There has been no enough consistency about the question of 'Is it possible for golden section to be applied to product design\ulcorner'In addition, There has been no near answer about 'What is proportion\ulcorner and 'How can proportion be approached\ulcorner About this matter, this study identified various types of proportion through experiment design and consumer surrey. According to the results of this study, various and different types of proportion exist in product design and therefore, proportion in product design couldn't be considered by one-dimensional aesthetic element. This kind of study about the types of proportion could give an good answer abort the matter of 'Is it possible for golden section to be applied to product design\ulcorner'and it's expected practically to give a useful insight to the approach of Product design in Which proportion is considered. In addition, preferred proportion structure is different according to the consumer characteristic, successful design strategy such as niche market penetration could be performed if designers classify consumer characteristic systematically.

  • This paper aims to analyze the business types of 237 IoT based smart home companies in the world (launched during 1999~2014) which got global investment last few years. For this, the previous literatures trying to analze technology and service types of smart home are searched and the typology of the platform is discussed. Based on it, this research conceptualizes an analysis framework that includes three areas of smart home like home automation, home security, and energy efficiency with the three platform types like product, software, and service. This study concludes that the development of business type for IoT based smart home ecosystem is from the product to software and it can be a platform or not. In current status, there are a few platforms of product and software, but in the device management (16%) and thermostat (11%), companies are persuing more platform like. It is difficult to find the service platform in overall areas, for application based service has a few attractions in the investment market due to the lack of cloud infrastructure and data analytics. The following three are the implication to domestic market: 1) More active offering of API and SDK, 2) more active introduction of wireless Intenet network protocols, and 3) more active interoperability efforts and alliance activities are needed.

  • Patent strategy research has focused on the efficiency of licensing for investigation, analysis and utilization of application management, product and development task in finding patent idea, to establish patent strategy linked with management strategy and technology strategy. However, it is difficult to find the research on patent strategy that reflects an adaptive culture to enhance the internalization and performance of the established strategy. As a result, companies have been striving to imitate patent strategies of advanced companies that do not consider their industry and organizational culture. This study proposes a method of defining a firm 's patent strategy according to the competing value model that analyzes organizational culture as four frameworks. This study verifies the classification method through case studies, suggests a suitable patent strategy for the patent strategy type. This study has contributions in that discussing from a new point of view based on organizational culture theory and providing a IP strategic model with high practicality.

  • This study was researched by practical method in a subjectivity study accessible in-depth, in sloughing off old habit of functional quantity analysis about product-selectivity on role of Home-shopping TV MD. The perception pattern come out in this study were divided into four types in Q-methodology. The result is as follows ; it is that divided '1[(N=9) : No-relationship Type], 2[(N=3) : Experience-oriented Type], 3[(N=5) : Ability-focus Type], 4[(N=1) : Drive-importance Type]'. Like this, it found that is very different type all over. In conclusion, this study is to ascertain acceptance behavior about Reception Type on product-selectivity on role of Home-shopping TV MD ; to offer a developmental suggestion about it.
