This study was conducted for quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) of Clostridium perfringens with consumption on ham and sausage products in Korea, according to Codex guidelines. Frame-work model as product-retail-consumption pathway composed with initial contamination level, the time and temperature in distributions, and consumption data sets for ham and sausage products and also used the published predictive growth and dose-response models for Cl. perfringens. The simulation model and formulas with Microsoft@ Excel spreadsheet program using these data sets was developed and simulated with @RISK. The probability of foodborne disease by Cl. perfringens with consumption of the ham and sausage products per person per day was estimated as $3.97{\times}10^{-11}{\pm}1.80{\times}10^{-9}$. There were also noted that limitations in this study and suggestion for development of QMRA in the future in Korea.
The evolution of the Galaxy is examined by the halo-disk model, using the time-dependent bimodal IMF and contraints such as cumulative metallicity distribution, differential metallicity distribution and PDMF of main sequence stars. The time scale of the Galactic halo formation is about 3Gyr during which the most of halo stars and metal abundance are formed and ${\sim}95%$ of the initial halo mass falls to the disk. The G-dwarf problem could be explained by the time-dependent bimodal IMF which is suppressed for low mass stars at the early phase (t < 1Gyr) of the disk evolution. However, the importance of this problem is much weakened by the Pagel's differential metallicity distribution which leads to less initial metal enrichment and many long-lived metal-poor stars with Z < $1/3Z_{\odot}$ The observational distribution of abundance ratios of C, N, O elements with respect to [Fe/H] could be reproduced by the halo-disk model, including the contribution of iron product by SNIs of intermediate mass stars. The initial enrichment of elements in the disk could be explained by the halo-disk model, resulting in the slight decrease and then the increase in the slopes of the [N/Fe]- and [C/Fe]-distributions with increasing [Fe/H] in the range of [Fe/H] < -1.
The characteristics of the ablation plume generated by 532 nm Nd: YAG laser irradiation of a Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) target have been investigated using a pulsed-field time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOFMS). The relative abundance of O+, Ti+, Zr+, Pb+, TiO+, and ZrO+ ions has been measured and discussed. TiO+ and ZrO+ ions were also found to be particularly stable within the laser ablation plasma with respect to PbO+ species. The behavior of the temporal distributions of each ionic species was studied as a function of the delay time between the laser shot and the ion extraction pulse. The most probable velocity of each ablated ion is estimated to be Vmp=1.1-1.6x 105 cm/s at a laser fluence of 1.2 J/cm2, which is typically employed for the thin film deposition of PZT. The TOF distribution of Ti+ and Zr+ ions shows a trimodal distribution with one fast and two slow velocity components. The fast velocity component (6.8x 10' cm/s) appears to consist of directly ablated species via nonthermal process. The second component, originated from the thermal evaporation process, has a characteristic velocity of 1.4-1.6 x 105 cm/s. The slowest component (1.2 x 105 cm/s) is composed of a dissociation product formed from the corresponding oxide ion.
This paper describes the procedure to predict steady and unsteady performances of a contrarotating propeller(CRP) by a mixed formulation of the boundary value problem(BVP) far the flow around a CRP. The blade BVP is treated by a classical vortex lattice method, whereas the hub BVP is solved by a potential-based panel method. Blades and trailing wakes are represented by a vortex and/or source lattice system, and hubs are represented by normal dipole and source distributions. Both forward and aft propellers are solved simultaneously, thus treating the interaction effect without iteration. The unsteady performance is computed directly in time domain. The new numerical procedure requires a large amount of storage and computing time, which is however no longer a limit in a modern computer system. Sample computations show that the steady performance compares very well with the experiments. The predicted unsteady behavior shows that the dominant harmonics of the total forces are multiples of not only the number of blades of the forward and aft propellers but also the product of both blade numbers. The magnitude of the latter harmonics, present also in uniform oncoming flow, may reach abort 50% of the mean torque for the aft propeller, which in turn may cause a serious vibration problem in the complicated contrarotating shafting system.

Hot-wire measurements of second and third-order mean products of velocity fluctuations have been made in the separated, reattached, and redeveloping boundary layer behind a vertical fence. Mean velocity, wall static pressure distributions have also been measured in the whole flow field. Upstream of the reattachment point, the separated shear layer developes as a free mixing layer, but the gradient of the maximum slope thickness, turbulent intensities and the Reynolds shear stress are higher than that of the mixing layer due to initial streamline curvature and the effects of highly turbulent recirculating flow region. In the reattachment region, Reynolds shear stress and triple products near the surface is far more rapid than the decrease of the shear stress; that is the presence of the solid wall has a marked effect on the apparent gradient diffusivity of intensity or shear stress and throws doubts upon the usefulness of the simple gradient diffusivity model in this region.

The BEM for linear elastic stress analysis is applied to the highly rotating axisymmetric body problem which also involves the thermoelastic effects due to steady-state thermal conduction. The axisymmetric BEM formulation is briefly summarized and an alternative approach for transforming the volume integrals associated with such body force kernels into equivalent boundary integrals is described in a way of using the concept of inner product and vector identity. A discretization scheme for higher order BE is outlined for numerical treatment of the resulting boundary integral equations, and it is consequently illustrated by determining the stress distributions of the turbine rotor disk of the small turbojet engine(ADD 500) for which a FEM stress solution has been furnished by author.

This study was numerically investigated on thermal deformation of AC4C and AC7A aluminum alloy casting material for manufacturing the automobile tire mold. The metal casting device was used in order to manufacture the mold product of automobile tire at the actual industrial field. The temperature distribution and the cooling time of these materials were numerically calculated by finite element analysis. Thermal deformation with stress distribution was also calculated form the temperature distribution results. The thermal deformation was closely related to the temperature difference between the surface and inside of the casting. As shown by numerical analysis result, the thermal deformation of AC7A casting material became higher than AC4C casting material. In addition, the results of displacement and stress distributions appeared to be larger at the center parts of casting than on its sides because of the shrinkage caused by the cooling speed difference.

Flatness of cold rolled strip is vital to the quality of the product and productivity of the mill. Therefore, in recent year requirement for flatness control in strip rolling have become increasingly severe. The necessity for more accurate automatic gauge control and automatic flatness control(AFC) has increased by customer's requirement for cold rolled steel sheets with thinner gauge and better flatness quality. In this paper, the performance and functions of AFC system installed on the 4 hi-reversing mill has been investigated under actual conditions. The test results are as follows : The more strip thickness is thick, the smaller the I-value. The I-value is a strain measured by stressometer. Complex distributions of strip tension are controlled to remove not only a quarter buckle but also a simple center wave and edge wave. The defects caused by poor flatness have been drastically decreased. And a proper coolant temperature for work roll cooling system on the AFC system is about $50~55^{\circ}C$.
To achieve desired microstructure and mechanical property of a manufacturing product, heat treatment process is applied as a secondary process after forging. Especially, quenching process is used for improving strength, hardness, and wear resistance since phase transformation occurs owing to rapid heat transfer from the surface of the specimen. In the present paper, a study on surface temperature measurement for water quenching of eutectoid steel was investigated. In order to determine the temperature history in experiments, three different measuring schemes were used by varying installation techniques of K-type thermocouples. Depending on the measured temperature distribution at the surface of the specimen, convective heat transfer coefficients were numerically determined as a function of temperature by the inverse finite element analysis considering the latent heat generation due to phase transformation. Based on the inversely determined convective heat transfer coefficient, temperature, phase, and hardness distributions in the specimen after water quenching were numerically predicted. By comparing the experimental and computational hardness distribution at three different locations in the specimen, the best temperature measuring scheme was determined. This work clearly demonstrates the effect of temperature measurement on the final mechanical property in terms of hardness distribution.

There is an increasing need for large flat panel display devices. PDP (Plasma Display Panel) is one of the most promising candidates for this need. Thermal shock failure of PDP glass during manufacturing process is a critical issue in PDP industry since it is closely related to the product yield and the production speed. In this study, thermal shock resistance of PDP glass is measured by water quenching test and an analysis scheme is described for estimating transient temperature and stress distributions during thermal shock. Based on the experimental data and the analysis results, a simple procedure for predicting the thermal shock failure of PDP glass is proposed. The fast cooling process for heated glass plates can accelerate the speed of PDP production, but often leads to thermal shock failure of the glass plates. Therefore, a design guideline for preventing the failure is presented from a viewpoint of high speed PDP manufacturing process. This design guideline can be used for PDP process design and thermal -shock failure prevention.
