Chinese retailing enterprises have been facing a tough competition from foreign retail giants since China entered WTO. They must change their traditional ways of doing business and adopt new information technologies and electronic commerce in order to survive. This paper analyzes the current situation and the problems in Chinese retailing enterprises, including the cultural, the social, the technological and the environmental aspects. It gives strategies, tactics and countermeasures of E-Commerce development for Chinese retailing enterprises.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to investigate eating behavior of university students through social commerce and to analyze factors affecting university students' attitude regarding social commerce. Methods: Questionnaires were distributed to 445 university students in Changwon, Korea from March 28 to April 28, 2013. A total of 339 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, which excluded improperly-completed questionnaires. Results: The major factor considered for eating behavior through social commerce was price (37.2%). Purchasing experiences of foodservice products according to types of foodservice were 64.9% for coffee shop, 59.3% for fast food restaurant, 53.4% for family restaurant, 46.0% for specialty restaurant, 35.7% for pizza restaurant, 35.4% for buffet, and 31.9% for bakery. Factors affecting satisfaction with social commerce for purchasing foodservice products were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Factors affecting repurchasing intention of foodservice products through social commerce were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Conclusion: In order to increase satisfaction with social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. And, to increase repurchasing intention of social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. In addition, two factors 'service quality of foodservice' and 'discount rate of social commerce' were found to have an effect on satisfaction and repurchasing intention of social commerce. For development of social commerce and foodservice industry, cooperative relationship between social commerce and foodservice industry is needed, and a reasonable price strategy should be established. The university students considered price as a major factor of eating behaviors and did not consider menu and taste as a major factor. From a longer perspective, such an eating behavior would have an effect on university students' dietary life and it would cause nutrition and health problems for university students. Thus, it implied that further studies from the perspectives of nutrition and health regarding eating behavior through social commerce service should be conducted.
At a time when the e-commerce market is experiencing accelerated growth, with advancements in information and communications technology (ICT), the problems of distribution of counterfeit products and consumer confusion caused by non-face-to-face purchases have increased. Hence, amid intensifying competition, it has become important for e-commerce companies deliver product information more efficiently, provide differentiated services, and secure credibility for consumers by reducing consumer damage from buying counterfeit products. However, even though consumer confusion and the inadvertent purchase of counterfeit products are intensifying in such a market scenario, there are no services that aim to solve such problems. This study examines the conventional e-commerce industry in South Korea through a political, economic, social, and technological (PEST) analysis, based on in-depth interviews with consumers, to derive the pain and gain points of the industry. As a result, the inherent problems of the e-commerce industry were revealed. Through a service value network perspective, services aimed at resolving such issues were derived, and the e-commerce business ecosystem needed to solve this problem was deduced. The findings revealed that the artificial intelligence-based service support platform has become a major driving force within the e-commerce innovation ecosystem by enabling a new way to create and secure value using ICT. This entails a new exchange mechanism and transaction architecture and a new organizational structure that breaks the barriers between industries.

With development of IT technology, B2C Social Commerce makes the change from closed type of transaction to the form of an open trading. Also by dramatically reducing the intermediate distribution and removing distribution costs, it provides goods at unbeatable prices to consumers. Depending on the flow of the times, the business-to-business struggles with the difficulty of PRM management and fast promotion of new products. Therefore, it is required B2B Social Commerce, new platform that can collect distribution and consumption firms in one place which is similar to B2C Social Commerce. Unlike the case of B2C social commerce, B2B Social Commerce should have an essential element, Installment payment system to pay over the period without purchase in accordance with the payment paid as a lump sum. B2B Social Commerce model which is introduced in this study will provide the solution of B2B transaction problems, opening up new markets and bring the expansion of the electronic market.
The paper describes the up going and frustration of electronic commerce development in China during the past ten years. All the changes are classified as EC application trends and the trends on EC supporting environment construction. Later, some problems affecting EC development are raised, and one of them: social credit system construction is discussed in detail. The trends of EC development discussed in the paper are based on the practices in China, but it is generally analogous in the rest of the world.
Social commerce has been gaining explosive popularity, with typical examples of the model such as Groupon and Level Up. Both local business owners and consumers can benefit from this new e-commerce model. Local business owners have a chance to access potential customers and promote their products in a way that could not have otherwise been easily possible, and consumers can enjoy discounted offerings. However, questions have been increasingly raised about the value and future of the social commerce model. A recent survey shows that about a third of 324 business owners who ran a daily-deal promotion in Groupon went behind. Furthermore, more than half of the surveyed merchants did not express enthusiasm about running the promotion again. The same goes for the case in Korea, where more than half of the surveyed clients reported no significant change or even decrease in profits compared to before the use of social commerce model. Why do local business owners fail to exploit the benefits from the promotions and advertisements through the social commerce model and to make profits? Without answering this question, the model would fall under suspicion and even its sustainability might be challenged. This study aims to look into problems in the current social commerce transactions and provide implications for the social commerce model, so that the model would get a foothold for next growth. Drawing on justice theory, this study develops theoretical arguments for the effects of transaction characteristics on consumers' distributive justice and purchase intention in the social commerce. Specifically, this study focuses on two characteristics of social commerce transactions-the discount rate and the purchase rate of products-and investigates their effects on consumers' perception of distributive justice for discounted transactions in the social commerce and their perception of distributive justice for regular-priced transactions. This study also examines the relationship between distributive justice and purchase intention. We conducted an online experiment and gathered data from 115 participants to test the hypotheses. Each participant was randomly assigned to one of nine manipulated scenarios of social commerce transactions, which were generated based on the combination of three levels of purchase rate (high, medium, and low) and three levels of discount rate (high, medium, and low). We conducted MANOVA and post-hoc ANOVA to test hypotheses about the relationships between the transaction characteristics (purchase rate and discount rate) and distributive justice for each of the discounted transaction and the regular-priced transaction. We also employed a PLS analysis to test relations between distributive justice and purchase intentions. Analysis results show that a higher discount rate increases distributive justice for the discounted transaction but decreases distributive justice for the regular-priced transaction. This, coupled with the result that distributive justice for each type of transaction has a positive effect on the corresponding purchase intention, implies that a large discount in the social commerce may be helpful for attracting consumers, but harmful to the business after the promotion. However, further examination reveals curvilinear effects of the discount rate on both types of distributive justice. Specifically, we find distributive justice for the discounted transaction increases concavely as the discount rate increases while distributive justice for the regular-priced transaction decreases concavely with the dscount rate. This implies that there exists an appropriate discount rate which could promote the discounted transaction while not hurting future business of regular-priced transactions. Next, the purchase rate is found to be a critical factor that facilitates the regular-priced transaction. It has a convexly positive influence on distributive justice for the transaction. Therefore, an increase of the rate beyond some threshold would lead to a substantial level of distributive justice for the regular-priced transaction, threrby boosting future transactions. This implies that social commerce firms and sellers should employ various non-price stimuli to promote the purchase rate. Finally, we find no significant relationship between the purchase rate and distributive justice for the discounted transaction. Based on the above results, we provide several implications with future research directions.
The Purpose of this study is to examine logistics characteristics related to electronic commerce and to suggest improvement of logistics Service in electronic commerce. This paper concerns the logistics functions which are essential for completing a commerce process even under the EC environment and provides ways to improve the logistics performance. Electronic commerce have introduced two scenes; dramatic change of the existing distribution surroundings and noticeable achievement of the economic advance and social efficiency. But, in the same scene, electronic commerce can be a threat to business condition, especially logistics management. It suggests that for activation of EC it is necessary to strengthen the strategic alliances, introduce GPS and use the third party logistics positively to prepare for the settlements of traffic problems, support the introduction of integrated logistics service and logistics information system.
Fundamental problems of e-commerce are exaggerated advertising of products, lack of trust in products or suppliers, and false reviews. As a solution, I have merged the concept of trust service embedded in social network service(SNS) with commercial domain to develop a new type of service called "Reliable SNS Commerce Service". The contents developed in this paper are as follows: first, online community functions for users to provide services; second, commerce functions; and third, functions for linking SNS and commerce. Through the reliability information presented in this paper, the seller provides more reliable and objective purchase information to the buyer about the sales items, thereby contributing to the sales by increasing the probability of the actual purchase. The buyer can purchase the higher-quality products with confidence. The service providers can gain the reputation as a reliable site for purchasing members. In conclusion, this paper provides a positive effect to all the participants, which will contribute to the development of a new commerce market and activation of electronic commerce.
Recently, Electronic commerce market is growing sharply for the expansion of internet and development of means of air transportation. Import Clearance System for express consignments, introduced in Korea, confers some benefit upon express consignments, ie. prompt clearance, simplification of the clearance procedure, exemption of necessary documents. But it has some problems such as lack of social security and trade compliance. So it requires some improvements as follows. Firstly, it has no legal background to clear all articles valued at US$100 or less carried by an express consignment operator. So customs brokers, not express consignment operators, should clear that articles. Secondly, it should be presented necessary documents including commercial invoice to prevent a wrong price declaration in entering express consignments valued at US$100 or less. Thirdly, X-ray inspectors must enhance their inspection ability. Customs must provide education programs for X-ray inspectors to improve their inspection ability. Lastly, Cargo selectivity system for express consignments have to be improved to operate effectively.
Alcohol consumption among soldiers impairs health status, performance, and increases the risks of injuries and violence. This study examined drinking behaviors, health problems, and violence among enlisted soldiers at Adisorn military unit in Saraburi, Thailand. Data collection using self-reported questionnaires were distributed to 256 enlisted male soldiers in May 2017. Participants were age 20-22 (93%), Buddhists (98%), high school education or lower (93%). They purchased alcohol at their own expense (46.5%). For alcohol consumption, all were lifetime drinkers (100%). The current drinking patterns were different 28.5% were current drinkers, 65.5% are currently abstaining from drinking (64.5%), and 6.6% stopped drinking permanently. The top three alcohol beverages were beer (52.3%), brandy (25.0%), and hard liquor (19.5%). Problems related to alcohol were from lost balance/falls (6.7%), illness (10.2%), driving under the influence (19.5%), and accidents (24.2%). Violence from drinking in the past month was from fighting (28.1%). This study is the first to provide information about alcohol-related problems in enlisted male soldiers. There is the need to offer straightforward advice, brief counseling, and refer soldiers to receive treatment to prevent alcohol-related problems. Online social media and web-based programs were recommended as platforms to provide preventive alcohol message to the enlisted.
