  • The purpose of this second one of the two consecutive papers, which carried out for the research, is to evaluate their relative effectiveness regarding instruction with such three presentation methods as video/print+ lecture, print/video, print+lecture/video, with which the library of Duk Sung Women's University applied already for the orientation of the freshmen in 1988. In sum, the major research findings are as follows : First, as the more numerous media were applied for the orientation, the instruction were more effective. Second, it is very interesting to find out that there were wide differences in effectiveness among the three presentation methods applied for the student. Especially, the print+ lecture/video method was more effective in the instruction than the print/video method. Surprisingly, the video/print + lecture method was much more effective than the print+ lecture/video method. With the research findings of this two consecutive papers into consideration, it seems safe to say that the video-tape method was most effective among such three orienting methods as lecture, slide-tape, and video tape, and the video/print+lecture method was most effective among such three presentation methods as video/print+lecture, print/video, and print+lecture/video.

  • The palm print recognition is the most reliable authentication method in the biometrics. In this paper, using the efficient segmentation of the palm print region we propose the method of enabling the palm print recognition as the same method applicable to the finger print recognition. To achieve this, we propose the image processing procedures of the palm print segmentation and the feature extraction. We compare the matching result after extracting the features for the finger print and the palm print.

  • As a PD classification method, statistical distribution parameters have been used during several ten years. And this parameters are recently finger print method, NN(Neural Network) and etc. So in this paper we studied finger print method and NN with BP(Back propagation) learning algorithm using the statistical distribution parameter, and compared with two method as classification method. As a result of comparison, classification of NN is more good result than Finger print method in respect to calculation speed, visible effect and simplicity. So, NN has more advantage as a tool for PD classification.

  • Since domestic offset print quality control depends on the experience of persons in charge rather than objective data, the standards from the data are needed for the well-organized quality management of high-quality prints. Based on the ISO standards, now the standard specifications, such as GRACoL 7, SWOP 11, SNAP, G7 in America, and EURO Color, ECI, BVDM in Europe, and Japan Color 2001, Japan Color 2004 in Japan, are employed. There exists KS for domestic standards. However, since it has been directly imported from ISO Standards, there are discrepancies in printing materials and media. Although the quality management of commercial prints has been focused and studied. For this circumstance, standards are needed for the production of prints to meet international standards. This paper aims to find out suitable ways to approach domestic printing standards using densitometric method and colorimetric method. Printing experiments on this study were performed with domestic process color inks(Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) and domestic coated papers, under the same conditions as the actual commercial printing processes. In densitometric method, how to set up the optimal solid print density was studied through three tests such as the ways to match solid print density and print contrast to GRACoL standards respectively, and the way to get the highest contrast. In colorimetric method, how to get solid print density with the minimum color difference between the $CIEL^*a^*b^*$ color specification values in GRACoL standards and the measured color specification values in prints, was studied.

  • In this paper, we found the solution using data based machine learning regression method to check the pore shape, to solve the problem of the experiment quantity occurring when producing scaffold with the 3d printer. Through experiments, we learned secured each print condition and pore shape. We have produced the scaffold from scaffold pore shape defect prediction model using multiple linear regression method. We predicted scaffold pore shapes of unsecured print condition using the manufactured scaffold pore shape defect prediction model. We randomly selected 20 print conditions from various predicted print conditions. We print scaffold five times under same print condition. We measured the pore shape of scaffold. We compared printed average pore shape with predicted pore shape. We have confirmed the prediction model precision is 99 %.

  • A different and effective method for indoor positioning system is needed and increased it's importance compare to the outdoor GPS based method. The FingerPrint positioning method is known as a superior method in indoor positioning system that maintains signal strength patterns for RPs(Reference Points) in database and compare the DB with the measured real-time signals on the mobile device. FingerPrint positioning method is necessary to establish an accurate database, but errors can occur by several factors. In this paper, we analyze the signal patterns of each terminal in accordance with connection state of access point and trace that the error in accordance with connection state of access point can be an important error in FingerPrint DB configuration through an experimental case study.

  • This paper presents a lip print recognition by the pattern kernels for a personal identification. A lip print recognition is developed less than the other physical attribute that is a fingerprint, a voice pattern, a retinal blood-vessel pattern, or a facial recognition. A new method by the pattern kernels is pro for a lip print recognition. The pattern kerne function consisted of some local lip print p masks. This function identifies the lip print known person or an unknown person. The results show that the proposed algorithm the pattern kernels can the efficiently realized.

  • The Author had tried to classify lip print patterne of 380 persons aged from 3 to 71 for detecting possibility of individual identification. The results were as follows: 1. The incidency of lip print patterne by means of the Tsuchihashi modifiation method was high in type I, type Ⅱ,typeⅢ,type I`, typeⅣ, typeⅤ, respectively. 2. Any of lip print had no same shape. 3. No same shape of lip print was found even family members. 4. The shapes of lip prints were unchangeable in the period of 5 months.

  • Biometrics is a study of identifying individual by using the features of human body. It has been studied for an alternative or complementary method for the classical method based on password, ID card, etc. In comparison with the fingerprint, iris, ear, palmprint, finger-knuckle print has been recently studied. This paper proposes an effective method for recognizing finger-knuckle print based on the feature of Gradient orientation. The main features of finger-knuckle print are the size and direction of winkles. In order to extract these features stably, we make a feature vector consisted of Gradient orientations after the preprocessing of enhancing non-uniform brightness and low contrast. Total 790 images acquired from 158 persons have been used at the experiment for evaluating the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show the recognition rate of 99.69% and the relatively high decidability index of 1.882. These results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in recognizing finger-knuckle print.

A lip print recognition is developed less than the other physical attributes of a fingerprint, a voice pattern, a retinal blood/vessel pattern, or a facial recognition. A new method is proposed to recognize a lip print bi the pattern kernels. The pattern kernels are a function consisted of some local lip print pattern masks. This function converts the information on a lip print into the digital data. The recognition in the multi-resolution system is more reliable than recognition in the single-resolution system. The results show that the proposed algorithm by the multi-resolution architecture can be efficiently realized.
