We have fabricated an integrated three-phase flux-lock type SFCL, which consists of an YBCO($YB_a2Cu_3O_7$) thin film and a flux-lock reactor wound around an iron core of each phase. In order to apply the SFCL in a real power system, fault analyses for the three-phase system are essential. The short-circuit currents were effectively limited by adjusting the numbers of winding of each secondary coil and their winding directions. The flux flow generated in the iron core cancelled out under the normal operation due to the parallel connection between primary and secondary windings. However, the flux-lock type SFCL with same iron core was operated just after the fault due to the flux generating in the iron core. To analyze the current limiting characteristics, the additive polarity winding was compared with the subtractive one in the flux lock reactor. Whenever a single line-to-ground fault occurred in any phase, the peak value of the line current of the fault phase in the additive polarity winding increased up to about 12.87 times during the first-half cycle. On the other hand, the peak value in the subtractive polarity winding increased up to about 34.07 times under the same conditions. This is because the current flow between the primary and the secondary windings changed to additive or subtractive status according to the winding direction. We confirmed that the current limiting behavior in the additive polarity winding was more effective for a single-line-to-ground fault

Superconducting fault current(SFCLs) are expected to improve not only reliability but also stability of real power systems. The analysis on the single line-to-ground fault current of the integrated three phase flux-lock type SFCL, which consists of three flux-lock reactor wound on an iron core in each single phase and three YBCO thin films, was investigated in current limiting operating characteristics. We compared additive polarity winding with the subtractive one in the flux lock reactor. Its turns ratio each phase between the primary and the secondary coils is 63:42. When a single line-to-ground fault occurred in any phase, the peak value of line current in the fault phase of the additive polarity winding increased up to 31.44[A] during first-half cycle. On the other hand, the peak value in the subtractive polarity winding increased up to 81.77[A] under the same conditions. This is because the current flow between the primary and the secondary windings becomes to be additive or subtractive in each winding direction. We confirmed that the current limiting behavior in the additive polarity winding was more effective for a single-line-to ground fault.

Ramie is one of the traditional fabrics in Korea, and very comfortable fabric for summer clothes because it has a high moisture-absorbing and transporting property. Futhermore ramie is very popular and Koreans prefer its handle for summer clothes. The kansan ramie has better quality as fibers and can be weaved as fine fabrics which are famous as kansan Fine ramie. Even though the good quality of kansan ramie has known widely, very few research work have been carried out on kansan ramie in the field of textile science. In this study, the analysis of the physical and chemical characteristics of Hansan ramie was conducted by using two different kinds of Hansan ramie: Hansan Fine ramie and kansan Coarse ramie. In addition, the same experiment was held on the one kind of chinese ramie to be compared with those of Hansan ramie. The following results were obtained from this experimental study. By the analysis of chemical composition of ramie, the similar chemical composition (a -cellulose: 83∼85%, pectin substances: 2.81∼ 3.01%) were found from all of the ramie fabrics used in this study. It has shown that Hansan coarse ramie has the highest toughness value and wrinkle recovery angle among the samples used in this study. From the result of KES-F system, it was found that Hansan Coarse ramie which is composed with the thicker yarns has the highest value on the bending properties, 2HG and surface properties. The primary hand value was also calculated by KN-203 LDY and value of Koshi was shown as the order of kansan coarse ramie> Chinese ramie> kansan fine ramie, and Hansan fine ramie had shown the highest Numeri and Fukurami value among the 3 samples used in this study.

In imaging devices such as digital cameras using a single image sensor, captured images are the sub-sampled images comprised of the pixels that have only one of the three primary colors per a pixel. This images should be restored to the color images through an image processing referred as color interpolation. In this paper, we derive relation between the average of the data from CFA image sensor and the average of each color channel data. By using this relation, a new efficient method for color interpolation is proposed. Also, in order to reduce the zipper effect in a restored image, missing luminance values are interpolated along any edges in the captured image. On the other hand, for the chrominance channel interpolation, we average difference between a chrominance value and a luminance value in a local area, and this average value is added to the pixel value of the interpolated location. The proposed method has been compared with several previous methods, and our experimental results show the better results than the other methods.

We designed the flyback planar transformer, which had 8 W capacity, with 70 V input voltage and 8.2 V output voltage for the establishment of design method and the confirmation of application possibility. The numerical value of inductance measured under the switching frequency of 120 kHz was 1650 $\mu$H, which was the inductance efficiency of'85∼87% against theoretical value. The A.C. resistance of primary and secondary coil was 4.2 Ω and 0.25 Ω respectively, On the other hand, the quality factor for each wound numbers showed quite a high value of 158 and 75 respectively. And the Coupling Factor was 0.96∼0.97 under 120 kHz switching frequency. The inductance rapidly increased as the thickness of the core plane increased until it became 1.4 mm but under the thickness more than 1.4 mm, there was no substantial change. Therefore, the critical value of the plane thickness of core was 1.4 mm. And the shape of the output wave of the planar transformer at 70V input voltage was a stable square wave.
Electromyogram (EMC) signal generated by voluntary contraction of muscles is often used in a rehabilitation devices such as an upper limb prosthesis because of its distinct output characteristics compared to other bio-signals. This paper proposes an EMG-based human-computer interface (HCI) for the control of the above-elbow prosthesis or the wheelchair. To control such rehabilitation devices, user generates four commands by combining voluntary contraction of two different muscles such as levator scapulae muscles and flexor-extensor carpi ulnaris muscles. The muscle contraction is detected by comparing the mean absolute value of the EMG signal with a preset threshold value. However. since the time difference in muscle firing can occur when the patient tries simultaneous co-contraction of two muscles, it is difficult to determine whether the patient's intention is co-contraction. Hence, the use of the comparison method using a single threshold value is not feasible for recognizing such co-contraction motion. Here, we propose a novel method using double threshold values composed of a primary threshold and an auxiliary threshold. Using the double threshold method, the co-contraction state is easily detected, and diverse interface commands can be used for the EMG-based HCI. The experimental results with real-time EMG processing showed that the double threshold method is feasible for the EMG-based HCI to control the myoelectric prosthetic hand and the powered wheelchair.
We have investigated the effects of the ethylene precursor 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and methyl jasmonate (MeJA) on the development of aerenchyma in the primary root of maize (Zea mays). Because plant hormones affected the longitudinal organization of the primary root, we need an indicator to direct the positions for comparison between control and hormone-treated roots. Therefore, the zones of the maize primary root were categorized as PR25, PR50 and PR75, where each value indicates the relative position between the root tip (PR0) and the base (PR100). Aerenchyma was not observed at PR25 and PR50 and rarely found at PR75 in the cortex of control roots. The aerenchymal area at PR75 increased in the presence of the ethylene precursor ACC or a natural auxin IAA. On the other hand, MeJA differentially acted on non-submerged and submerged roots. Exogenously applied MeJA suppressed the aerenchyma formation in non-submerged roots. When the primary root was submerged, aerenchymal area expanded prominently. The submergence-induced aerenchyma formation was amplified with MeJA. Lateral root primordia have been known to inhibit aerenchymal death of surrounding cells. All the three hormones stimulating aerenchyma formation as described above did not restore the inhibition caused by lateral root primordia, suggesting that the inhibitory step regulated by lateral root primordia can be located after hormonal signaling steps.

The effect of a novel delivery system, water in oil emulsion containing chitosan hydrogel as a inner phase (W/O-C) was evaluated, and the relationships between the skin permeation, the skin primary irritation and the skin turnover rate of AHAs were discussed. We selected glycolic acid (GA), lactic acid (LA), malic acid (MA), and tartaric acid (TA) as model AHAs. The steady state fluxes of 4 AHAs across the excised hairless mouse skin increased as the molecular weights of the AHAs decreased. (GA>LA>MA>TA). The skin turnover times were shortened in all AHAs, compared with control. The skin permeation and the skin primary irritation of the LA decreased and the skin turnover time increased, as the pH increased. The maximum therapeutic index was obtained with pH 3.8, 0.5 M LA. It was suggested that the skin permeability of LA might be a main factor for prediction of the skin irritation and the skin turnover time. On the other hand, the W/O-C containing pH 3.8, 0.5 M LA indicated a good sustained release property of LA, compared with water in oil emulsion without chitosan hydrogel (W/O) or oil in water emulsion (O/W). The skin permeability and the skin irritation of AHAs from the W/O-C edcreased, compared with W/O or O/W, however the skin turnover time showed almost the same value as W/O or O/W. In conclusion, we suggest that the control of the skin permeation of AHAs would be an important tool for reducing the skin irritation and for maintaining the positive effect of AHAs, and the W/O-C system could be a potential candidate for future cosmetological application of AHAs.
Synthetic fabrics, such as nylon and polyester, were dyed with persimmon juice by using a padding mangle repeatedly. The mechanical properties of these synthetic fabrics were analyzed using the Kawabata evaluation system. The following findings were obtained from this investigation. As the number of repetitions of padding dyeing increased, the tensile energy per unit area and the tensile resilience of synthetic fabric remained almost unchanged, whereas the linearity of the load-extension curve of the synthetic fabrics increased. As the number of padding repetitions increased, the synthetic fabrics dyed with persimmon juice exhibited increases in thickness and weight. As the number of repetitions of padding treatment with persimmon juice increased, the values of stiffness, anti-drape stiffness, fullness, and softness also increased, whereas the flexibility with soft feeling, crispness, and scrooping sensation significantly decreased. The amount of coated persimmon juice on the surface of the fabrics increased after three repetitions of padding treatment with persimmon juice. Nylon and polyester fabrics were dyed evenly with persimmon juice treated using a padding mangle.

Premature cracking of the epoxy coatings applied on ship's ballast tanks(BT) can lead to damage of ship's hulls. To avoid this, it's important to have clear understanding of the underlying mechanism and primary factors of the coating crack. In this study, the efforts were made to clarify the integrated effects of main factors, i.e., initial coating shrinkage, thermally induced strain, steel-structural strain and the intrinsic coating flexibility at the initial and after aging, to the early cracking phenomena of epoxy coating in the ship's ballast tank. The coating crack is caused by combination of thermal stress, structural stress, and internal stresses which is closely related to chemical structures of the coatings. On the other hand, thermal stresses and dimensional stabilities would rarely play a major role in coating crack for ballast tank coatings with rather large flexibility. Crack resistance of the coatings at early stages can be estimated roughly by measuring internal stress, FT-IR and $T_g$ value of the coatings. A new screening test method was also proposed in this study, which can be possibly related to the long-term resistance of epoxy-based paints to cracking.
