Objectives : Since single extract powders was released at 1987, the insurance fee has not been changed, but the price of raw material has been increasing. According to this, Pharmaceutical company couldn't invest on quality of the product, so, the quality of single extracts went down and lost the consumer's trust. We checked the contents of marker ingredients in single extract thereby to recover the reliability of insurance-covered herbal preparations. Methods : we bought total twelve products of eight different single extracts of two main pharmaceutical companies among total 65 kinds of single extract powder stipulated in KHP (The Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia) monograph III at Jan. 2013. Assays of selected single extract powders are performed by KHP regulation. And we surveyed price fluctuation of relevant herb raw materials from 2005 to 2012. Results : Among twelve products, eight single extract powders were suitable by the KHP regulation. But four products didn't reach the content amount of KHP. Marker contents in the single extracts product of Pueraria Root, Licorice, Peony root and Scutellaria Root of A company were 70%, 1%, 23.7% and 75.1%, respectively. Conclusions : We can acertain whether there's a quality problem in the insurance-covered single extract powders. But, A company is no longer producing these improper single extract powders. As a medicine, single extract powders needs to be strictly quality controlled by the company, and regularly monitored by the KFDA.
In this paper, we examine the institutional prices differences in the electricity and natural gas industries using unbalanced panel data from 1999 to 2001. The changing market structures following deregulation in both markets allow us to examine the institutional prices differences by ownership type, market structure and merger activities. Estimating the reduced form, after controlling both intrinsic characteristic (marginal costs) and external factors (demand), allows us to identify the extent to which specific factors are correlated with the price. Furthermore it allows us to identify systematic institutional price differences in both electricity and natural gas markets. Our estimation results suggest that the private firms in electricity markets are associated with higher prices than public firms after controlling for demand and cost. We further find that dual-product firms in the natural gas industry and the electricity industry are associated with lower rates than single product firms. These results provide a weak evidence of economies of scope in the dual-product firms. Our results finally suggest that merger activities in natural gas markets are associated with higher rates.

There are lots of controversies over the introduction of MVNO(Mobile Virtual Network Operator) policy to Korean mobile telecommunications market. MVNO is a kind of service-based competition in mobile market. This paper attempts to analyze the ripple effect of MVNO regulation and also desirable ways of implementing the policy. Based on Laffont, Rey and Tirole(1998), Armstrong (1998) model, theoretical MVNO model is defined and derived implications of price, quantity in the market. According to the model, the fact that MNOs have one-way access profit leads the static efficiency by lowering its market price. In regarding the most desirable way to enhance social welfare is revealed as 'two MNOs conduct MVNO' other than 'One MNO does' or 'Structurally divided network'.

For decades, general services and accounting officers have been dominant forces in collection development activities in college and university libraries in Korea. The role of certified librarians has been rather peripheral. This has been allowed by the fact that library acquisitions departments had to be headed by non-librarian general administrative officers by the government regulation. The philosophy behind this regulation was that acquiring library materials was not any different from simple purchasing act of other useful goods in the marketplace. In affiliation with the element of general administrative officers, domestic book-sellers also had a great influence in collection building activities in college and university libraries in Korea. This has been made possible by the fact that no other people could su n.0, pply library materials, especially foreign library materials. It has been pointed out for years that the mechanism in which general administrative officers and domestic book-sellers had a greater say in library acquisitions activities was especially inefficient in acquiring wanted materials in wanted speed and in wanted price. In this mechanism, books and periodicals were mere goods. They were not perceived as intellectual property holding information and knowledge in them. Since the student movement to revolutionize the library system of the Pusan National University, September 1987 to December 1988, the creative and progressive elements in this university library have been making great efforts to change the acquisitions system in this library into a more efficient one by putting certified librarians at the center of the whole acquisitions process. These efforts have been successful to a certain degree. In this discursive study of the case of the Pusan National University Library, I have tried to achieve a social description of the library process in which progressively motivated librarians succeeded in alienating administrative officers and book-sellers and in grasping in their hands the hegemony in the collection building aspect of library activities. It has been discovered that this was possible only when the librarians were mature enough to have their kind of professionalism, i.e., professional ethics and craftsmanship.
We introduce a simple theoretical model to analyze the welfare impact of a competition policy in the natural gas market in South Korea. An incumbent monopolistic firm currently owns essential facilities, but the competition policy mandates that the firm provide open access to any entrant firm, charging an access fee. When no regulation is imposed on the fee pricing, this policy increases social welfare as well as the profit of the incumbent firm. When the pricing is regulated, however, social welfare depends on whether there is information asymmetry between the government and the firm regarding the operating cost of the facilities. If the government has complete information, social welfare can be maximized by choosing the optimal prices. Otherwise, the government has to set the prices based on the information that the firm delivers. We formulate a Bayesian game to analyze this case and identify a set of perfect Bayesian equilibria to compare social welfare.
Nowadays, firms face the challenge of how to balance between the environmental request and business profit under the circumstances of being eco-friendly and sustainable. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of business environmental factors on the 4p mix of an eco-friendly textile in the textile fashion firms. This research was conducted by a questionnaire method, in which the questionnaires were distributed to the textile fashion firms. Of the returned questionnaires, one hundred of them were selected to be included in the analysis by developing descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cronbach's alpha, and regression analysis using SPSS18.0. The results of this study were as follows: There were significant effects of the firms' environmental management, organizational structure, and CEOs' environmental sensitivity in descending order of the business internal factors on the textile fashion firms' eco-friendly textile product. The factors of the firms' environmental management, organizational structure(internal factors), and legal regulation(external factor), in descending order, significantly affected the promotion of the eco-friendly textile. The factor of firms' environmental management (internal factor) significantly affected the distribution of the eco-friendly textile. The factors of CEOs' environmental sensitivity(internal factor), legal regulation(external factor), and firms' environmental management(internal factor), in descending order, significantly affected the price of the eco-friendly textile.

The role of the foreign direct investment is very crucial for the regional economic growth nowadays. The inward FDI in Korea has been increased since the Act of foreigner investment promotion in 1998. The municipal and national government have designated the special industrial zones and supported the diverse incentives for the foreign investment companies. The service sector had a large share of inward FDI. However, manufacturing sector overtook the service sector as the largest FDI in 2009. This study focuses on the greenfield manufacturing FDI, which was established from 1999 to 2012 in Korea. In order to find out the impacts of low-priced industrial electricity and loose environmental regulations on choosing Korea, this paper did in-depth interviews with MOTIE, Korea industrial complex, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, some FDI companies. Investment incentives such as low price of domestic industrial electricity strongly affect why manufacturing FDI companies choose Korea to invest. The Korean government has also acknowledges that low-price policy can internationally compete to attract FDI. There is a possibility that FDI energy-guzzling industrial companies may choose for Korea to use the low-priced electricity, raising the issue of supply-demand of electricity of Korea in the future.
1. The purpose of this study was to recommend ways of more efficient pheasant farm business management and promoting the demand of pheasant foods by reviewing the current pheasant farm business management and the general pattern of consumption of pheasant foods. The study was conducted on the basis of the field survey covering 83 pheasant feeders and 283 consumers. 2. Majority of pheasant feeders, 86.8%(n=72), utilized broiler feed for pheasant rearing because of high price of exclusive pheasant feed. 3. In case of producing 1,000 heads of 5 month-old pheasant, the primary production cost per head was roughly calculated at about 5,530 Won. And 40.3% of primary production cost was consisted of feed cost and 12.9% was depreciation cost for facillities including artificial incubator equipments. 4. 81.1%(n=51) of whole surveyed feeders disposed of 1-4 week-old birds directly to the new feeders and 6%(n=6) sold them to the middlemen who were almost pioneering pheasant feeders. 5. 48.9%(n=138) of the surveyed consumer respondents have taken the pheasant foods once and several times, and the others never once. And 50.6%(n=69) of the respondents who had taken the pheasant foods were satisfied with the tastes. 6. The surveyed consumers were asked whether they knew the nutritional value of pheasant foods and 47.3(n=136) recognized it positively and 37.5%(n=106) negatively. 7. To increase the pheasant farm income and promote the demand of pheasant foods. followings are recommended. - Production cost should be reduced by cooperative utilization of facilities and equipments at farm level, and exclusive pheasant feed of good quility should be developed and supplied to the feeders at a low price. - Pheasant marketing and pricing system should be improved to prevent consumers from price disorder of retail shop including pheasant food reataurants and to popularize the pheasant foods. - Various type of menu of pheasant foods should be developed not only to satisfy consumers in tastes but also to solve the seasonality of pheasant supply. But it is preferable that this action is led by pheasant feeders and their cooperative organization, espectially through vertical intergration system owned by pheasant feeders. - Generic, pioneering advertisement and promotion should be carried out to promote primary demend of pheasant foods. It would be preferable that these primary demend advertising and promoting activities shuld be sponsored by pheasant feeders and government together. And their activities should be supported by institutional regulation.

There are index adjustment method and item adjustment method in estimation methods for price fluctuation rate of public constructions. A relevant regulation has put item adjustment method as a principle, but in most construction, contract sum adjustment has been made by index adjustment method. Hence, this study, by figuring out width and causes of the gap between index adjustment method and item adjustment method through direct comparative analysis, solved inequality caused by difference between them and suggested a rational way against irrationality of each method. For building operations of public housing construction, a detailed fluctuation rate by index adjustment method and item adjustment method of construction cost elements of the same construction, that is, direct material cost, direct labor cost and historical construction cost was estimated to analyze difference between two adjustments and establish its cause. Across the analysis, it was found that fluctuation rate by item adjustment method was estimated lower than that by index adjustment method and difference between methods for estimating fluctuation rate of quotation unit price and application of index unrelated to construction type and construction nature are main causes of the difference. This study has a significance in that, for smooth contract sum adjustment between contracting parties, it practically proved the real difference between adjustment methods by conducting comparative analysis of the difference in direct correspondence way.
Our fisheries protucts industry has developed rapidly during past 10 years ; production was about twice: fihing fleets increased twice in number and 3 times in tonnage ; export was 5 times. Govermment is trying to develop deep sea fisheries in order to surmount the depression of coast fisheries. At present more than 270 deep sea fishing boats are working with superior skill to other country at the South Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian, and the North Pacific Ocean. Our deep sea fisheries is consisted of the tuna long line and the trawler. The tuna long line of them has 230 crafts in 1969 ana the deep sea trawler has 40 crafts, too. Comparing to 1962, the number of the deep sea fishing boats has been increased highly to 54 times, 7.71 times average per year increasing rate. The rate of the tuna long line to the trawler at the end of 1969 shows 85:15, More than half of them are 100~200 (equation omitted), if we classify them according to (equation omitted) or boat craft. 70% of them has less than 5 years ships age. The Korean Marine Industry Development Corporation has more than 1/3 fishing fleets, with 91 crafts, if We consider it according to corporation. Considering it according to the financial resources, dependence upon foreign loan is as high as 88%. Catches was 74, 450 M/T ($24, 663, 000)at the end of November in 1969 and it was increased to 113.5 times in catch amount and 118 times in value, comparing to those of 1962. Considering it according to the ocean, the order is arranged to the Pacific, the Atlantic, and the Indian Ocean. The average production amount of each craft is 250~400 S/T a year. The result of export took up 1/3 of total fisheries product export with $ 22, 398, 000 at the end of november in 1969. Employee cost of fishing coast is 8% higher than other fishing. The profit is highest in our fisheries. Most of the products except the trawler fishing are sofa at the fishing grounds to the processing company, and they lose much money. They buy most of bait from Japan, giving $8~10 for 1C/S(10kg). Fish price is $390~520 according to the kind of fish for S/T at the fishing grounds, and the rapid frozen fishes brought to Japan are about $ 800 for S/T. There is much difference. in price. Problems 1. Want of self capital. 2. To get the refrigeration boats enough. 3. International Fishing Regulation. 4. To get high price and to secure consuming grounds. 5. To get home-production of bait. 6. To exploit new fishing grounds. 7. To get larger boats. 8. To get mariner enough. When the problems mentioned above are solved, the Deep Sea Fisheries of oun courtry will be developed more largely.
