To elucidate genetical and biochemical characters of the white egg strains preserved in National Sericultural and Entomology Research Institute(NSERI), RDA of Korea, the genetic segregation ratios in egg colours were investigated by crossing test, and egg pigment precursors were also analyzed by paper chromatography and UV-spectrophotometer scanning. The result obtained by crossing test between the white egg strains and normal one illustrated that the most of white egg strains showed typical segregation ratio of white egg-2(w-2), while maternal inheritance which can be seen in white egg-1(w-1) was not found in any white egg strains. Paper chromatographic analysis showed that egg extracts of all the white egg strains contained 3OH-kynurenine, while kynurenine which is known to existed in white egg-1(w-1) could not be detected at all. From the results of these experiments, it was found that all the white egg strains preserved in NSERI were classified as the white egg-2(w-2) strain.

Within the framework of the Mongolian-Korean Joint Project for "Research and Preservation of Cultural Heritage", I enrolled in 3 months training course from February to May 2010 at the Metal laboratory of Conservation Science Division in National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, Korea. Some metal artifacts, which are preserved in Institute of Archaeology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, were brought and restored there. These chosen findings were found at Gobi and mountainous region of Mongolia, preserved under the different circumstances and dated back to Middle Age from Bronze Age. At the Metal laboratory of the NRICH, the conservation work was carried out for three months on 15 metal objects, including arrowhead, stirrup, caltrop, axe, knife, ring and so on, which were found at Khugshin Teel's ruin of Khairkhandulaan soum of Uvurkhangai province, Ungut of Altanbulag soum of Tuv province, Baruun Naran and Ukhaa khudag of Khankhongor and Tsogttsetsii soums of Umnugobi province. Transaminase has been a popular methods in the clinical laboratory for the diagnosis of particular diseases. The methods we are familiar with should be considered further on the serum states provided on the test to be done. (serum freshness, temperature and duration preserved) I have studied transaminase activities of the serum preserved under frozen (-10$\circ$C), refrigerated (4$\circ$C) and room temperature conditions. At a given interval those activities of serum are measured and then the results are compared with the optical density and calculated for the standard deviation and percent variation (Table 1. & Fig. 1.) G.O.T. activity is maintained decreased at a relatively constant rate from 2nd day to 14th day preservation under frozen and refrigerated but its activity variation at 25$\circ$C are far greater than the above conditions throughout the test periods. Elevated G.P.T. level of serum compared with G.O.T. are remained at any temperature and duration. Unless the determination of amino acid level study can not ruled out clearly.

The effect of reticuloendothelial hyperfunction on hypothermic preservation of lung was studied in dogs. In order to evaluate the viability after hemodynamic_ load in preserved isolated lung, observations were made on the rate of increase in weight, degree of edema,compliance and surface activity of lung. The results obtained as follows: l. In the group of activating of the reticuloendothelial system by injection of sodium thiosulfate intravenously before pneumonectomy and infusion of naphthionine through the pulmonary artery before hypothermic preservation of isolated lung the limit of preservation was eight hours whereas four hours in non-treated control group. 2.Therefore the method of activating of the reticuloendothelial system before and after pulmonary resection seems effective in preserving for prolonging the period of preservation of lung by means of inhibition of pulmonary edema. 3. Pulmonary surface activity is expected to be valuable as a method in evaluation of the viability of preserved lung along with compliance and rate of increase in weight of lung.

Fragrance-like style-is one of the intangible aspects of costume history that we often wish had been preserved. Garments were perfumed both to impart a pleasurable impression and to mask disagreeable odors from use or from production processes such as tanning and dyeing. Expensive gloves were traditionally perfumed, as well as lace collars, silk stockings and shawls. Both historical and modern attempts have been made to create scents that please the wearer and attract the oppoiste sex, while (preferable) also repelling osquitoes and moths! Unintentional perfuming also occurred, which we sometimes may be lucky to find in our museum collections. How do we describe and identify the transient odors of museum objects, and at what cost can they be preserved and presented for the public? This lecture includes samples of reconstructed historical scents presented in costume exhibitions at the Royal Danish Collections.

To examine iterocular interactions in normal subjects, we recorded EEG activity from channel O1 and O2 on 14 healthy subjects while checkerboard pattern reversals were presented to each eye with different interstimulus intervals (ISIs) ranging from 0 to 218 ms. When pattern reversals were presented asynchronously to each eye, P-1 activity evoked by each reversal was significantly suppressed compared to the activation evoked by synchronous reversals. Furthermore, when there was time delay between pattern reversals to each eye, theta (4-10 Hz) band power was also significantly decreased, whereas beta (10-30 Hz) band power was relatively preserved. Our results suggest that neural activity evoked by sustained but not yet reversed checkerboard from one eye might inhibit upcoming neural response evoked by reversed checkerboard from the other eye. Decreased P-1 activity might reflect such inhibitory interaction between two eyes. Also, decreased theta and preserved beta band power might reflect engagement of different neural circuit for binocular / monocular vision.

The potential for recovery of left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial revascularization represents a practical clinical definition for myocardial viability. The evaluation of viable myocardium in patients with severe global left ventricular dysfunction due to coronary artery disease and with regional dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction is an important issue whether left ventricular dysfunction may be reversible or irreversible after therapy. If the dysfunction is due to stunning or hibernation, functional improvement is observed. but stunned myocardium may recover of dysfunction with no revascularization. Hibernation is chronic process due to chronic reduction in the resting myocardial blood flow. There are two types of myocardial hibernation: "functional hibernation" with preserved contractile reserve and "structural hibernation" without contractile reserve in segments with preserved glucose metabolism. This review focus on the application of F-18 FDG and other radionuclides to evaluate myocardial viability. In addition the factors influencing predictive value of FDG imaging for evaluating viability and the different criteria for viability are also reviewed.

We experienced a case of 49-year-old male patient with amputated two fingers preserved in Soju (Korean traditional liquor, a kind of alcoholic beverages). The amputation level of the two fingers was at the distal interphalangeal joint. The Soju was not an adequate physiologic solution for preserving the amputated tissues. Even though arterial anastomosis was successful, there was no venous drainage visible in the operative field. On the first day after the initial operation, we succeeded in the anastomosis of one vein in one of the two amputated fingers. This was 12 hours after arterial anastomosis was carried out. But no venous dranage was visible in the other finger. In spite of a salvage procedure sustained with external bleeding for 7 days, this replanted fingertip eventually fell into necrosis.

The safety problems of buses have been arisen due to the increasing of road traffic. Occupant injuries are always possible in the rollover accident and the frontal impact. Thus the structure of bus should have sufficient strength to protect passengers under accidental loads. ECE(Economic Commission for Europe) regulation No.66 prescribes that the superstructure of the vehicle shall be sufficient strength for passengers' surviving and the residual space shall be preserved in the passenger compartment during and after the standard rollover accident situation. Rollover test and simulation on a large-sized bus was completed according to the regulation. The coordinates of the points on the bus were measured by photogrammetry system. The rollover situation was revived by structural crashes simulation software, PAM-CRASH, and it was checked that the structure still complied with the requirements of residual space during rollover situation. The residual space was preserved during rollover, so it was proved that the structure of the investigated bus had much probability of survival in rollover accidents.

Northern Kyungbuk around Andong is a mountainous and more or less dry region geomorphogically. Since this area located in the valley was less invaded by foreign countries, the folk traditions have been maintained for a long time. Also as the center of Confucian culture, this region respects ceremonies and so, the simple and noble ceremonial-foods such as Ddok, Hankwas, and Buchiki have been firmly preserved in many distinguished families. And besides Andong-Soju, many traditional liquors produced in different methods can be found in this region. As Gogi-Sikhae(a fermented beverage utilizing rice and fish) is still preserved in eastern coastal area, Sosikhae(Sikhae without fish) is maintained in this region and furthermore the unique Andong Sikhae developed by modifying Sosikhae is being consumed currently. Since it is difficult to get fish here geographically, the soybean foods were developed for protein intake, for example, various fermented soybean pastes, Andong-Songuksu(a hand-made noodle using raw soybean flour), and Siragiguk(a vegetable soup).
