  • Today the tastes of consumers change rapidly and the kinds of the products become diverse. Therefore the product life cycle becomes shorter and shorter. Moreover the save of resources and the recycling for the environmental preservation are the essential theme. On this the necessary information for the product development increases enormously. For the right use of the information the design process should be supported by the proper design tool. For this the 'design catalogue system for recycling' is suggested here. This system consists of four parts, that is, 'the existing automobile system database', 'working principle database', 'assessment system of the ease of disassembly' and 'one's own product development database'. By the use of this system the product development period could be reduced about $30\%$ drastically.

  • This study was conducted to examine how the types of housing values influence the preference for computerized housing (so called 'Intelligent Housing'). A questionnaire survey was conducted on 347 residents in Seoul metropolitan area. The following findings were obtained: 1) The housing values were classified into 6 types: ostentation, information & technology, tradition preservation, personality, practicality, and privacy pursuit. 2) There were significant differences in housing values by the generation and the level of familiarity with information technology. 3) In general, computerized housing was highly preferred, and the housing value types that affected the preference were 'ostentation' and 'information & technology.' 4) There is a need to develop diverse models of computerized housing systems to respond to consumer demands.

  • Nowadays, there has been an increasing interest in the preservation of natural dentition and the proper occlusion related to tooth wear for quality of life. Tooth wear means the loss of tooth enamel structure. This is happened by many causes which is the combined effects of many mechanisms. For keeping proper occlusion, dentists should check tooth wear status with acceptable methods and tools for the proper diagnosis. Until now, there have been many traditional qualitative ways to measure tooth wear which are intuitive, rapid, and simple. On the contrast, they are not objective nor reproducible. With the development of related technique, new quantitative methods using CAD and 3d scanners. This article aimed to introduce qualitative and quantitative methods for tooth wear measurements.

  • Preservation of geometrical context of terrains in a digitized format is useful in handling and making modification to the data. Digitization of three-dimensional terrain still proves a great challenge due to heavy load of context required to retain details of topological and geometrical information. Methods of simplification, restoration and multi-level terrain generation are often employed to transform the original data into a compressed digital format. However, reduction of the stored data size comes at an expense of loss of details in the original data set. This article reports on an alternative scheme for simplification and restoration of terrain data. The algorithm utilizes the fact that the terrain formation and patterns can be predicted and modeled through the fractal algorithm. This method was used to generate multi-level terrain model based on NGIS digital maps with preserving geometrical context of terrains.

  • This study was conducted to provide a fundamental information for commercial, medical usage and mushroom gene preservation and to investigate the diversity of indigenous mushroom on Bonghwa-Gun. A total of 3 classes 2 subclasses 13 orders 45 families 64 genera and 118 species including saprophytic and ectomycorrhizal fungi was investigated. The mushroooms are classified into 17 families 32 genera and 80 species in Agaricales, 13 families 17 genera and 22 species in Aphllophorales, 2 families 2 genera and 2 species in Heterobasidiomycetes, 9 families 9 genera and 10 species in Gasteromycetidae. There were edible mushroom of 46 species at Moonsu and Chungryang Mountain. The mushroom occurrence was closely related to vegetation and soil environmental conditions.

  • Corbon dioxide id effective for extending the shelf-life of perishable foods by retarding microbial growth. The overall effect of carbon dioxide is to increase both the lag phase and generation time of microorganisms. However, the role of carbon dioxide in affecting the growth and metabolism of any given microorganisms is not clear yet, although its inhibitory effect is generally found at moderate to high concentrations. Systematic studies of the effects of carbon dioxide on microorganisms are therefore warranted. It is also necessary to understand the role of carbon dioxide in the preservation of foods as well as the control by carbon dioxide of fermentations of biotechnological importance. In this review, the antimicrobial effect of carbon dioxide on microorganisms is investigated in terms of its gas and solution properties, inhibition of microbial growth and specific metabolic processes, perturbation of membrane structure.

  • Unani medicine has been used extensively as preventive and therapeutic healthcare in India. It mostly utilizes herbal drugs for the treatment of various conditions and ailments. It is based upon the humoural and temperament theory of Buqrat (Hippocrates). Unani medicine is one of the oldest traditional system rooted within the Greek, Iranian, Arabic, and Islamic medical knowledge and has developed as a scientific healthcare system. It is highly practiced and popular in certain parts of the world, and the World Heritage Centre, part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the United Nations Foundation list it as an authentic and still-living form of traditional medicine. But in the past, its survival required utmost efforts from different dynasties, scholars and organization around the world. The efforts of promotion, preservation, translation, upgradation and publication of medical knowledge has crucially given new life to Unani medicine in each era. This letter will enlighten the efforts of translations of medical knowledge in Unani medicine from its arising need in the past till present.

  • Automation can help organisations implement authentic and reliable record management practices, through the improved tracking of records through their life cycle as well as the consistent application of records schedules and descriptive standards. Maintaining evidence through authentic and reliable records is a cornerstone of good business practice and helps ensure a valuable record for society. This paper provided understanding of establishing records and archives management system(ARMS) with the case of the Jogye order of Korean buddhism. This system was designed to control records in the whole step from creation to preservation so that it automatized process to organize and control current records and to preserve archives. This system covers a wide range of archival functions including appraisal, arrangement and description, transfers, access, location and space management, microfilm management and destruction. This system will be applied records management of similar organization because of designing from the archival scientific point of view. Also, development process of this system will help archivist to build ARMS based on archival needs of institution.

  • The rising incidence of early gastric cancer has enabled the development of function-preserving gastrectomy with the focus on post gastrectomy quality of life and adherence to sound oncologic principles. It is concurrent with the growing popularity of minimally invasive surgery; and both are commonly used together. The different kinds of function-preserving gastrectomy included in this review are: pylorus-preserving and proximal gastrectomy, vagus nerve preservation, sentinel node navigation, and various endoscopic & minimally-invasive techniques. In this article the indications, techniques, oncologic safety, functional benefit, and outcomes of each kind of function-preserving gastrectomy are discussed.
