Preparation of Silver Nanocolloids Using Silver Alkylcarbamate Complex in Organic Medium with PVP Stabilizer

  • We present a method for chemically reducing silver alkylcarbamate complex with hydrazine to synthesize silver nanocolloids in an organic solvent using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as the stabilizer. To determine the optimal conditions for preparing stable silver colloids of controlled size and shape, the silver 2-ethylhexylcarbamate (Ag-EHCB) complex, PVP, hydrazine, and 2-propanol solvent concentrations in the reaction mixture were varied. The initial colloid has a mean particle diameter of 5-80 nm, and it exhibits an absorption band with various shapes in the UV region with a maximum near 420 nm. UV-vis spectroscopy, TEM, and X-ray diffraction techniques were used to investigate the formation and growth process of the metallic silver nanocolloids.

  • The proposed offshore wind farm projects, i.e., Mooudo offshore, Yeonggwang-Gochang offshore, Saemangeum offshore, Imjado offshore and Gadeokdo-Dadeapo offshore, were compared and analyzed using the Korea National Wind Mapand Wind Farm Suitability Assessment System developed by the Korea Institute of Energy Research. The suitability of the proposed areas was comprehensively assessed using geographic, economic constraints, wave condition and wind resource factors, but the focus of this paper was on the geographic constraints and wave conditions. Imjado had several geographical constraints, despite having a good wind power density, while Saemangeum had a relatively low wave height, shallow water depth, close substation and slow tidal current. It is anticipating that the present comparison and analysis could be used as reference guidelines when selecting and preparing the design of large-scale offshore wind farm in the near future.

  • To predict the radiating noise from the vibrating surface, it is required to know the velocity distribution of vibrating surface exactly as possible as it can. Although it can be obtained by finite element method, their accuracy is limited by theuncertainty of preparing input data such as material propoerties, damping, excitation, and the actual boundary conditions. Experimental values are accurate but are seldom available as many asthe data points compared to FEM mesh. Therefore, hybrid method of experiment and finite element method, called modal expansion technique, is investigated for the preparatin of accurate element method at specified frequencies and for the verification of this scheme, related experiment is performed. In high frequency range above 2000 Hz, piezo-electric material is used as an actuator.

Isolation and Detection of Genes Responsible for Pyoverdines Biosynthesis in Pseudomonas putida KNUK9

  • Pyoverdines (PVDs) are organic compounds produced by the fluorescent Pseudomonads under iron starvation conditions. Among the isolated rhizosphere pseudomonads strains, P. putida KNUK9 showed the highest production of PVDs and its production reached to 62.81% siderophores units. DNA isolation, ligation, PCR amplification, and transformation using E. coli $DH5{\alpha}$ cells were carried out for preparing the strong pyoverdine producer strains. We detected seven genes playing the fundamental roles in the pyoverdine metabolism in Pseudomonads. According to data and analysis obtained from the study, we deduced that the strain P. putida KNUK9 contains the essential genes required for pyoverdine biosynthesis.

  • A variety of processing techniques have been reported for preparing high quality functional thin films, and one of the most successful techniques has been known to be the rf FTMS(facing targets magnetron sputtering) method. The rf FTMS has preferable advantages to reduce the resputtering effect when depositing thin films and efficiently to oxidize the grown films by oxygen radicals. The resulting optimum conditions were found to be the rf power 50 W and the substrate position of 20 mm.

Structural and Electrical Properties of a-axis ZnO:Al Thin Films Grown by RF Magnetron Sputtering

  • In this paper, we report electrical, optical and structural properties of Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films deposited at different substrate temperatures and pressures. The films were prepared by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering on glass substrates in argon (Ar) ambient. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the AZO films deposited at room temperature (RT) and 20 Pa were mostly oriented along a-axis with preferred orientation along (100) direction. There was an improvement in resistivity ($3.7{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}-cm$) transmittance (95%) at constant substrate temperature (RT) and working pressure (20 Pa) using the Hall-effect measurement system and UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. Our results have promising applications in low-cost transparent electronics, such as the thin-film solar cells and thin-film transistors due to favourable deposition conditions. Furthermore our film deposition method offers a procedure for preparing highly oriented (100) AZO films.

  • A search was undertaken to screen microorganisms that produce an enzyme capable of deacylating glutary1-7-amincephalosporanic acid to 7-aminocephalosporanic acid in soil samples. The screening was carried out by preparing enrichment cultures containing glutary-7ACA and cephalosporin C as selective carbon sources. A non-${\beta}$-lactam model compound,, glutary-p-nitroanilide, was synthesized as a substrate suitable for the rapid screening of microorganisms isolated from the enrichment cultures. Two isolates exhibiting acylase activity, designated BY7.4 and BY8.1, were identified as strains of Pseudomonas species. Pseudomonas BY8.1 showed higher acylase activity toward G1-7ACA than Pseudomonas BY7.4. Environmental conditions for the optimal acylase activity of Pseudomonas BY8.1 were shown to be pH9 and 30$^{\circ}C$.

  • A method of predicting the tritium concentration in the air leaving an atmospheric detritiation dryer was modeled for designing a fixed bed dryer and preparing an advanced dryer control. In order to quantify the bed utilization and the dynamic capacity against an inlet humidity and a flow rate, a series of quantitative tests based on the break-through behavior were carried out in an isothermal fixed bed of synthetic zeolites such type as molecular sieve 4A, 5A, 13X and mordenite. The amount of water vapor breaking during the adsorption was estimated to give a breakthrough capacity at the various inlet flow rates and humidity conditions. The molecular sieve 13X exhibited a better adsorption performance at a given bed height.

  • Strategic aim of Poland is an accession to The European Union. This accession means consolidation of democratic transformations and acceleration of economical development. Possibly full and quick execution of preparing works at building domain is one of conditions of Polish membership in the European Union. Poland has to adopt rules and standards, which are required at EU. It will permit to make polish companies more attactive at international market. We should know, that economical, legal whether political reforms, this is not all what consists on membership at the Union European. We must change internally, become open to the world, to represent dynamism, enterprise, knowledge and culture. We must become more tolerant and be able to communicate with people with different culture whether political orientation, we have to accept this dissimilarity and will find way of dialogue and cooperation.
