TBM 공법의 자원기반 적산 방식에 의한 개산 공사비 예측 식 모델 개발 (Development of a model for an equation for estimating construction costs based on the resource-based cost estimating system for TBM)

  • 본 연구는 TBM 공법의 구경별 자원기반 적산(원가 계산) 방식에 의한 공사비 적산을 수행하여 직접공사비와 총공사비를 분석하고, 이를 근거로 회귀분석을 수행하여 TBM 공법 구경별 직접공사비 및 총공사비를 추정할 수 있는 개산 공사비(개략 공사비) 예측 식 모델을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 TBM 공법의 구경별 개산 공사비 예측 식 모델은 향후 TBM 공법 적용 현장의 사업기획, 예비조사, 타당성조사, 기본설계 단계에서 개산 공사비를 추정하는데 효과적으로 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Our goal is the development of a system that estimates the location of interested point in a room with accuracy and low cost. Non-contacting position estimating method is widely used in various areas. Among these methods, acoustic signal-based method is the cheapest and provides reasonably accurate estimation as a result of many research efforts.   • This paper concerns with the decision maker has the job of forecasting capital investments and operating expenses to aid the decision making in choosing and evaluating present annual and future alternatives. The cost estimating function eventually analysis, evaluates and choose the alternatives. And also, the marginal analysis performed originally from a preliminary design of some sort, and eventually plans are made to investigate investment possibilities. This paper provide the discounted net cash flows and the present, annual and future worth methods. In despite of any choice for an analytical methods, there remains the problems of predicting and assessments certain future events. Therefore, these models dealing with the optimal plant sizing, equipments replacement, and lease or buy will be discussed.

Preliminary Structural Design of Wall-Frame Systems for Optimum Torsional Response

  • Recent investigations have pointed out that current code provisions specifying that the stiffness of reinforced concrete elements is strength independent, and therefore can be estimated prior to any strength assignment, is incorrect. A strength allocation strategy, suitable for preliminary structural design of medium height wall-frame dual systems, is presented for allocating strength in such buildings and estimating the dependable rigidities. The design process may be implemented by either the approximate continuous approach or the stiffness matrix method. It is based on the concept of the inelastic equivalent single-degree-of-freedom system which, the last few years, has been used to implement the performance based seismic design. The aforesaid strategy may also be used to determine structural configurations of minimum rotation distortion. It is shown that when the location of the modal centre of rigidity, as described in author's recent papers, is within a close distance from the mass axis the torsional response is mitigated. The methodology is illustrated in ten story building configurations, whose torsional response is examined under the ground motion of Kobe 1995, component KJM000.

  • This paper describes some preliminary attempts to formulate simple mathematical models of the transmission dynamics of HIV infection in homosexual communities. In conjunction with a survey of the available epidemiological data on HIV infection and the incidence of AIDS, the model is used to assess how various processes influence the course of the initial epidemic following the introduction of the virus. Models of the early stages of viral spread provide crude methods for estimating the basic reproductive rate of the virus, given a knowledge of the incubation period of AIDS and the initial doubling time of the epidemic. More complex models are formulated to assess the influence of heterogeneity in sexual activity. This latter factor is shown to have a major effect on the predicted pattern of the epidemic.

  • Code Excited Linear Prediction(CELP) as a speech coder exhibits good performance at data rates below 4.8 kbps. The major drawback to CELP type coders is their large amount of computation. In this paper, we propose a new pitch search method that preserves the quality of the CELP vocoder with reduced complexity. The basic idea is to restrict the pitch searching range by estimating the preliminary pitches. Applying the proposed method to the CELP vocoder, we can get approximately 87% complexity reduction in the pitch search.

Development of Preliminary Design Model for Ultra-Large Container Ships by Genetic Algorithm

  • In this study, we carried out a precedent investigation for an ultra-large container ship, which is expected to be a higher value-added vessel. We studied a preliminary optimized design technique for estimating the principal dimensions of an ultra-large container ship. Above all, we have developed optimized dimension estimation models to reduce the building costs and weight, using previous container ships in shipbuilding yards. We also applied a generalized estimation model to estimate the shipping service costs. A Genetic Algorithm, which utilized the RFR (required freight rate) of a container ship as a fitness value, was used in the optimization technique. We could handle uncertainties in the shipping service environment using a Monte-Carlo simulation. We used several processes to verify the estimated dimensions of an ultra-large container ship. We roughly determined the general arrangement of an ultra-large container ship up to 1500 TEU, the capacity check of loading containers, the weight estimation, and so on. Through these processes, we evaluated the possibility for the practical application of the preliminary design model.

통계적 기법을 활용한 ILM압출공법 교량 상부공사 개략공사비 산정모델 개발 연구 (Development of the Approximate Cost Estimating Model Using Statistical Inference for PSC Box Girder Bridge Constructed by the Incremental Launching Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 평균건설단가를 적용하여 개략 공사비를 산출하는 기존 방식에서 벗어나 대표공종을 이용한 입력변수 도출 모델을 구축하여 기본설계단계에서 고려되어지는 여러 입력변수들을 활용하여 P.S.C(Prestressed Concrete) Box Girder 교량에서 널리 활용되고 있는 I.L.M(Incremental Launching Method) 공법에 연구 모델을 적용하고자 한다. 2000년부터 설계된 공사비 데이터와 설계자료 등을 분석하여 상부공사 중 총 공사비대비 누적비율 95%이상을 차지하는 공종을 대표공종으로 도출하였다. 각 대표공종의 하위공종에 대한 내역 분기를 실시하여 각 항목들의 Database를 구축하였다. 본 연구에서는 다각적인 측면에서 개략공사비 산정 모델을 개발 및 제시하였으며, 사용자 입장에서 보다 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 대표공종을 기초로 단위물량을 사용한 개략공사비 산정모델(I)과 상관성이 높은 입력변수를 선택한 개략공사비 산정모델(II)과 상관계수 0.6이상의 입력변수들을 모두 포함하는 다중회귀분석을 통한 개략공사비 산정모델(III)을 제시한다. 실제 총공사비와 본 연구에서 제시하는 개략공사비 산정모델들을 비교하고, 신뢰성을 검증함으로써 현재 국내에서 사용되는 산정방법에 비해 정밀도 측면에서 효율적인 공사비 관리방법을 제시한다.

Estimating the economic value of agricultural water using the virtual water concept

  • Water is an essential resource for human survival. According to the OECD Environmental Outlook to 2050, rapid industrialization and a global population increase by approximately two billion will likely increase global water use by 55% in 2050. However, water depletion has been getting worse than before and has been happening more quickly, as Earth's water resources are limited. The present study proposes water management measures by using the virtual water theory which enables water consumption measurement and the confirmation and recognition of water scarcity problems, and will support the development of counter-measures. As a method for estimating the value of agricultural water, virtual water theory was used to calculate the amount of agricultural water input for domestic rice and to apply prices of agricultural water in the United States and China to Korean water prices. When the Chinese price was applied to Korean water prices, the value of agricultural water represented 0.3% of the Korean rice producer's price. When the US price was applied to Korean water prices, the value of agricultural water represented 1.6% of the domestic rice producer's price. The study exposes the percentage of the value of agricultural water in agricultural product prices, as well as how this scare resource may affect future prices. In the future, if there are water charges to effectively manage agricultural water, this study, which uses the virtual water theory, can be used as a preliminary research.

실적 함정의 중량추정 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Weight Estimation of Built Naval Ships)

  • In this study, the estimating weight data of eight leading ships of Korea navy were processed by comparing with the final weight data of their incline test results statistically, and are analyzed as follows; The maximum criteria of the weight margins of Korea naval ship in the preliminary and detailed design phases seem to be appropriate values, but the minimum criteria would be advisable to update more reasonable values. And, the limitation that the acceptable deviation of lightship weight should be 10 % of the lightship weight on a naval ship's ROC(Required Operational Capabilities) is recommended to be prohibited, because it comes from the weight estimation which has considerable uncertainty and it may also drop off design flexibility. Finally, the SWBS(Ship Work Breakdown System) groups which have larger deviation values in the estimating weight of naval ships are necessary to improve their accuracies, and to upgrade their weight database continuously.
