Time-dependent Optimal Heater Control in Thermoforming Preheating Using Dual Optimization Steps

  • Thermoforming is one of the most versatile and economical processes available for shaping polymer products, but obtaining a uniform thickness of the final product using this method is difficult. Heater power adjustment is very important because the thickness distribution depends strongly on the distribution of the sheet temperature. In this paper, the steady-state optimum distribution of heater power is first ascertained by a numerical optimization to obtain a uniform sheet temperature. The time-dependent optimal heater input is then determined to decrease the temperature difference through the direction of the thickness using the response surface method and the D-optimal method. The optimal results show that the time-dependent optimum heater power distribution gives an acceptable uniform sheet temperature in the forming temperature range by the end of the heating process.

우주용 카메라 열제어장치(Cooling Unit) 개발

  • 광학탑재체 열제어 시스템(Cooling Unit)은 광학카메라가 우주환경 하에서 작동시 영상검출기(FPA)에서 발생하는 열을 효과적으로 발열하여 영상검출기의 온도를 최적으로 제어하는 시스템이다. 영상검출기(FPA)의 1회 orbit은 100분이며, 예열기간(Preheating) 최대 10분 동안 147W를 발열하고, 촬영기간(Imaging) 10분 동안 147W를 발열하여 1회 orbit 평균 32.6W를 발열하고, Parasitic heat load 15W를 고려하면 1회 orbit당 평균 총 50W를 발열 한다. 열제어 시스템은 50W를 효과적으로 발열하여 영상검출기의 온도를 $14^{\circ}C{\sim}26^{\circ}C$로 제어한다. 열제어 시스템은 Buffer Mass, Heat Pipe, Radiator로 구성된다. 열제에 시스템의 성능규격은 열주기시험, 열진공하 열전도시험 및 진동시험을 통하여 검증한다. 이 논문에서는 국내 기술로 개발되는 우주용 카메라 열제어 장치의 설계 및 해석, 제작현황 등을 소개하고자 한다.

메탈 화이버 버너에서의 연소 특성 및 복사 효율에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study on the Combustion Characteristics and Radiation Efficiency of Metal Fiber Burners)

  • Radiant burners are applicable to drying, preheating and curing in materials manufacturing processes. Radiation efficiency is one of the important performance criteria for these burners. The wide variation in reported radiation efficiencies are partly due to the differences in the measurement techniques. In the present work, water cooled radiant heat flux meter was used to measure radiant heat flux from a metal fiber mat burner. Non-contact type thermometer was also utilized to measure the surface temperature of the burner. Combustion gas was measured by gas analyzers. According to the thermal loads and stoichiometric ratios, radiant heat transfer ratio and combustion performance were discussed here in.

급냉응고 및 기계적 합금화된 Al-Ti계 합금의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of Al-Ti Base Alloys Processed Via Rapid Solidification and Mechanical Alloying)

  • Rapidly solidified and mechanically alloyed Al-Ti base alloys were prepared by gas atomization and attritor milling separately. The gas atomized and the mechanically alloyed powders were consolidated after preheating at $450^{\circ}C$, and then heat treated isochronally for 1 hour to observe the microstructures and to investigate the mechanical properties. Stable phases of precipitates in the Al-Ti-Si and the Al-Ti-Zr alloys were identified as DO22-$(Al,Si)_3Ti$ and $Do_{23}-Al_3(Ti, Zr)$ each. Among the alloys, the mechanically alloyed Al-l0Ti-2Si alloy showed superior thermal stability and mechanical properties at elevated temperature. The additions of third elements, such as Si and Zr, to Al-Ti alloys seemed to improve the mechnical properties remarkably by stabilizing the microstructure and the precipitate phases in the consolidated alloys.

  • Arc welding is sometimes used to repair damaged cast iron parts in diesel engine for driving a ship. In this case cola arc welding. is good for. saving the time and results in good repairing. But if some difference in hardness on welding zones made with AWS E Ni-CI and NiFe-CI. happen, repaired parts would be cracked in a short. In order to overcome this default, the study is performed on varying preheating temperature of welding parts, selecting welding rod and welding work way. The result will be used on ship's repair working shop.

  • The research on anticorrosive of valve for ship, waterworks, and drainage system is very important. The purpose of this paper is to develop the metal/polyurethan adhesive technique at insider of the value to prevent corrosion in the value. It is performed to the bending strength test by using metal /polyurethan in the metals (SB41, Al6061). It is investigated to the effects of bending strength on curing temperature, preheating time and curing time, and to the fracture mechanism of metal/polyurethan adhensived specimen. As a results, we find that the bending strength is the highest at curing temperature of 11$0^{\circ}C$ and the curing time is 60 minutes in metal/polyurethan adhesive specimen.

  • HTS tubes were fabricated in terms of various SrSO4 additions by Centrifugal Forming Method. For powder melting by induction, the optimum temperature ranges of melting and preheating were 105$0^{\circ}C$~110$0^{\circ}C$ and 55$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min respectively The mould rotating speed was 1000rpm. A tube was annealed at 84 $0^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The plates like grains more than 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were well developed along the rotating direction of mould regardless of the amounts of SrSO4 in Bi2212. The measured Ic and Jc at 77K(B = 0T) in Bi2212 with 7% SrSO4 composition were about 680A and 380A/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

Kinetics of the water absorption in GGBS-concretes: A capillary-diffusive model

  • We study the kinetics of absorption of water in Portland cement concretes added with 60, 70 and 80% of granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) cured in water and at open air and preheated at 50 and $100^{\circ}C$. A mathematical model is presented that allows describing the process not only in early ages where the capillary sorption is predominant but also for later and long times where the diffusive processes through the finer and gel pores are considered. The fitting of the model by computerized methods enables us to determine the parameters that characterize the process: i.e., the sorptivity coefficient (S) and diffusion coefficient (D). This allows the description of the process for all times and offers the possibility to know the contributions of both, the diffusive and capillary processes. The results show the influence of the curing regime and the preheating temperature on the behavior of GGBS mortars.

Growth of High Quality $Cd_{0.96} Zn_{0.04} Te$ Epilayers Used for an Far-infrared Sensor and Radiation Detector

  • The high quality and a nearly stoichometric growth of $Cd_{1-y} Zn_y$/Te(y=0.04) epilayers have been successfully grown on GaAs substrate by hot wall epitaxy (HWE) by optimizing the growth condition including the preheating treatment and Cd reservoir temperature. The relationship between quality and thickness was examined and best value of FWHM from X-ray rocking curve of 121 arcsec are obtained. Also, emission peaks related to the recombination of free excitons such as the ground state and the first excited state were observed in the PL spectrum at 4.2K. The ($A^0$, X) emission related to Cd vacancy and deep level emission was not measured. These results indicated that the grown CZT/GaAs epilayer was high qualify and purity.
