  • The pre-assembly takes a large portion of the fabrication cost of steel bridges. In order to save the fabrication cost through the improvement of the conventional pre-assembling process, this research investigates a numerical pre-assembly simulation as an alternative to current pre-assembling process. The 3D laser scanning was utilized in site and measuring data for steel box were analyzed. The productivity of pre-assembly simulation system is compared with the conventional pre-assembling system. This paper identifies feasibility on the alternative pre-assembling process and then proposes the scheme of the pre-assembly simulation system development satisfying the current pre-assembly inspection of standards.

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the process model of the pre-design stage to CPLM(Construction Project Life-cycle Management). Life-cycle consists of 4 stage; Pre-design, Design, Construction, Maintenance. Each stage has organic relations between front and rear stage. Therefore it is important to manage and use the information data of each stage. But these data are not carried to the next stage smoothly, especially at the pre-design stage. It is even vague to define the process of the pre-design stage. To carry and share the information well, this study defines Pre-design stage process and CPLM at first, VA-Cityplanner which is the development system of the pre-design process model is applied to CPLM for the smooth current of the data between participants.

  • The application of the membrane filtration process has been increased for the drinking water treatment system because of excellent quality of treated water compared with the sand filtration process. The selection of suitable pre-treatment processes and optimum flux according to the characteristics of raw water are important factors for the design of membrane processes. In this study, the most efficient pre-treatment processes for drinking water was selected by investigating the effects of pre-treatment processes on the operational stability of the membrane filtration process. Both lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments were conducted. In the lab-scale test, the effect of pre-treatment processes on the stability of the membrane filtration process was investigated indirectly by comparing the performance of membrane flux for raw water, pre-treated water, and membrane permeated water. In the pilot-scale test, the usefulness of prefiltration processes was assessed by comparing the performance of single membrane process and hybrid coagulation-membrane process. The results indicated that the coagulation process contributed to the stabilization of trans-membrane pressure (TMP) by removing contaminants on membranes, though the pre-filtration process had little effect on the TMP.

  • Skin aging process on pre-menopausal women is a problem that needs to be prevented as early as possible. The decrease of oestrogen level which is one of the intrinsic factors of the skin aging process will affect the skin biological process, due to oestrogen receptors on the skin. A number of researches conducted on pre-menopausal women with the allocation of oestrogen hormone resulted in delaying the skin aging process. The administration of soy isoflavon, a phytoestrogen found in daily food, on pre-menopausal women is hoped to be able to prevent skin aging process, even clinically or molecular biologically. This research aims to explain the benefit of administering of soy isoflavon on skin aging process. The design of the research is randomised controlled trial (RCT). As many as 60 pre-menopausal women were collected with simple random sampling method. Soy isoflavon is an independent variable, while skin aging process is a dependent variable assessed from the hydration, sebum level, average roughness, depth of wrinkles, skin clarity, length of the telomere. Analysis was conducted using t and MANDVA tests and.the result showed a significance (F = 10,439; p = 0,001) over the allocation of soy isoflavon to the whole variable dependent, including the telomere length and the skin hydration, meant that allocation of soy isoflavon could delay skin aging process.

  • The aim of this study is to define the condition of optimal pre-treatment for preferable activated carbon fibers (ACFs), which are based on rayon fibers. This paper shows the ideal path of ACFs preparation process; implies that rayon fibers are pre-treated by various solvents with different times before the heating process. The pre-treated rayon fibers finally turned into desirable rayon fiber-based ACFs through optimal pre-treatment condition by heating processes. The thermal analysis method of pre-treated rayon fibers by thermo-gravimetry analyser (TGA) is an idealized tool, which analyzes the best thermal condition of pre-treatment process. Surface morphologies of resulting rayon fibers based ACFs were examined by scanning electron microscope(SEM). The results of TGA and SEM analyses show that the optimal pre-treatment condition for preparing ACFs was clearly defined, in terms of thermal stability and surface morphology.

  • Doping process of crystalline silicon solar cell process is very important which is as influential on efficiency of solar. Doping process consists of pre -deposition and diffusion. Each of these processes is important in the process temperature and process time. Through these process conditions variable, p-n junction depth can be controled to low and high. In this paper, we studied a optimized doping pre-deposition temperature for high solar cell efficiency. Using a $200{\mu}m$ thickness multi-crystalline silicon wafer, fixed conditions are texture condition, sheet resistance($50\;{\Omega}/sq$), ARC thickness(80nm), metal formation condition and edge isolation condition. The three variable conditions of pre-deposition temperature are $790^{\circ}C$, $805^{\circ}C$ and $820^{\circ}C$. In the $790^{\circ}C$ pre-deposition temperature, we achieved a best solar cell efficiency of 16.2%. Through this experiment result, we find a high efficiency condition in a low pre-deposition temperature than the high pre-deposition temperature. We optimized a pre-deposition temperature for high solar cell efficiency.

  • In this study, the effects of two pre-treatment processes were observed prior to membrane filtration: pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation. To compare the effect of two above-mentioned pre-treatments, we adopted the four schemes: first one is direct membrane filtration of river surface water, second one is membrane filtration after pre-coagulation, third one is membrane filtration after pre-ozonation and fourth one is membrane filtration after pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation. There are two exceptional characteristics in applied processes. One is the usage of the MF membrane which has high ozone resisting characteristic. Therefore, ozone resides in membrane module during filtration. The other is adoption of Jet Mixed Separator (JMS) as coagulation-sedimentation process. The change in transmembrane pressure and permeate water quality were also examined. As a result, considering the filtration performance efficiency and permeate water quality, the process composed of filtration with combination of both pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation was proved most effective. The improved efficiency was due to the reduction of loading rate of fouling inducing materials to membrane module by coagulation process as well as variable reactions, such as degradation, particle destabilization and coagulation, occurred by residual ozone in membrane module. The additional effect of pre-coagulation before pre-ozonation is suppression of AOC, one of the by-products induced by ozonation. Therefore, combination of pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation is the effective process to overcome the major de-merit of ozonation i.e. by-products formation.

  • For the production of urethane prepolymer, the effect of process parameters such as diisocyanate MDI and polyol TDI was tested. In this paper, design of experiments has been adopted for studying the effect of the process parameters on the improvement of NCO and viscosity of pre-polymer. As a result of comparison of different parameters, the effect of polyol was stronger than that of isocyanate in comparison of reactivity according to the amounts of isocyanate and polyol. Especially, NCO and viscosity of pre-polymer affected a product safety.

  • Properties of rice flours prepared from milled and broken rice produced by pre-washing and subsequent drying process were investigated. Compared to untreated ordinary milled rice, pre-washing process slightly increased lightness of rice flour, while decreased yellowness. Both WAI and WSI were higher in the flour from pre-washed rice, and gel consistency was the highest in the flour from pre-washed broken rice. Pre-washed rice showed increased amylograph peak viscosity and reduced setback values. On the other hand, pre-washed broken rice showed decreased peak viscosity and increased setback values. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results showed that the pre-washing process reduced gelatinization onset- and peak temperatures, with increased gelatinization enthalpy. Total bacteria and yeast count were lower in the prewashed rice, suggesting the pre-washing process could partially eliminate microbial contamination of ordinary milled rice.

  • In this study, the effect of pre-curing process on the enhancement of mechanical properties of IGCC-slag-based-geopolymer was studied. Pre-curing is a process in which the green geopolymer is left at room temperature for a certain period of time prior to the high-temperature curing, and it is known as increasing the strength of a specimen. Therefore, in this experiment, the compressive strength of the geopolymers was measured according to various pre-curing conditions, and microstructure and crystal phase changes were observed by SEM and XRD, respectively. The W/S ratio was determined to be 0.26, which can offer the maximum geopolymer strength with easy molding ability, and the concentration of the alkali solution was 15 M. Pre-curing was performed at room temperature for 0 to 27 days. Compressive strength of the geopolymer made with pre-curing process increased by 36~87 % compared with the specimens made with no pre-curing process. Those improved compressive strength for the pre-cured geopolymer was confirmed owing to promotion effect of pre-curing process on generation of C-S-H gel and zeolite phases, which were analyzed using by XRD and SEM measurement.
