감정 이입 학습 전략을 활용한 애니메이션 기반 초등학생용 환경교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application of Animation-Based Environmental Education Program using Empathic Learning Strategy for Elementary School Students)

  • We developed animation-based environmental teaching program using empathic learning strategy in order to motivate elementary school students' willingness to practice environmental-friendly behavior and applied it to elementary school students. The subjects were 56 fourth graders, who were divided into the experimental and controlled groups. Experimental group was taught with animation programs using the empathic learning strategy and controlled group took typical classes. There was significant difference between experimental and controlled groups(p<.05) in terms of environmental practice willingness. When examining students' environmental-friendly recognition, this study showed positive result that they were more interested and motivated in the learning process. Thus, it concluded that the environmental animation program using empathic learning strategy was an effective teaching method. It showed that it was more effective to improve environmental knowledge and motivates students to actively participate in instructions and to concentrate on educating materials.

Analysis of Trends in Willingness to Pay Research in Healthcare Service of Korea

  • Purpose: This study was to review the previous studies on the 'Willingness to Pay (WTP)' for healthcare services and suggest future implications for nursing research. Methods: Using the scoping review method, we used RISS, KISS, KMbase, Koreamed, PubMed, EMbase, CINAHL as searching engines. According to the selection and exclusion criteria, 40 appropriate studies were selected and analyzed. Results: 24 studies were categorized into medical service field among medical, public health, and nursing service fields. A total of 16 studies were related to healthcare system (policies), 13 studies were to the healthcare intervention, and 11 studies were categorized into the health management. Most of the methods for eliciting WTP (70%) were about a contingent valuation method (CVM), and the use of double bounded dichotomous choice (DBDC) tended to increase. In the nursing field, five WTP studies were identified: two studies published in the early years of 2000, which were conducted on hospital-based home health visit services. Recent studies were mostly about counseling and education by advanced practice nurses (APNs). Conclusion: WTP studies on healthcare services were largely published from the medical fields and health policy areas with the CVM method. In the field of nursing, studies have been conducted on the subject of limited service areas. More active exploration of research topics is required, particularly under the current policy setting, where discussion of the public health insurance fee for nursing practice is essential.

When Do People Post a Comment to a News Story on the Internet?

  • In reading news stories online, people are exposed to others' comments to a news story. In spite of popularity of comments to a news story online, the understanding of why and who posts a comment is still lacking. To complement scarcity and have a better understanding of comment-posting online, this study examined psychological factors which affect the likelihood of posting a comment to a news story online. In particular, three variables were considered: The first variable was communication efficacy, that is, an individual's belief about communication practices and systems, under the supposition that the people who have greater levels of communication efficacy are more likely to post a comment. The second variable was perception of public opinion, to test that when and if people judge their position of the issue as favored by the majority, they tend to post a comment. And finally, the tone of existing comments was included, to test if the tone of comments affects the willingness to post a comment. The results showed that firstly, people at a high level of communication efficacy are more likely to post a comment compared to people at the low level of communication efficacy. Secondly, the perception of public opinion partly influenced the willingness to post a comment. Especially, when people believe communication systems contribute to develop society and also when judged that their opinion is the majority's opinion, they are more likely to post a comment. Finally, the tone of the comments influenced the willingness to post a comment only on the condition that people are confident of the communication practice and are exposed to emotional comments.

입원 아동의 가족중심돌봄 개념분석 (Family-Centered Care for Hospitalized Children: Concept Analysis)

  • Purpose: This paper is a report on the concept analysis of family-centered care for hospitalized children. Methods: The concept analysis approach of Walker and Avant was used. A search of multidisciplinary literature published between 1960 and 2016 was undertaken using the keyword 'family centered care' or 'family centered nursing' combined with hospitalized children. Attributes, antecedents, and consequences were inductively derived from the citations analyzed (n=19). Results: The attributes of family-centered care included (1) family respect, (2) collaboration, (3) family support, and (4) information sharing. These attributes are influenced by the 'willingness of family to participate', 'competency and willingness of staff,' and 'institution policy and system.' Additionally, family-centered care does significantly impact 'the health of the children', 'family empowerment' and 'work satisfaction and self-confidence of staff'. Conclusion: Family-centered care of hospitalized children as defined by the result of this study will contribute to the theoretical foundation for application in pediatric nursing practice.

약물감시 실습 교육이 한의과대학 학부생의 지식, 태도 및 자가 효능감에 미치는 효과 (Effect of A Pharmacovigilance Practice Training Course for Future Doctors of Korean Medicine on Knowledge, Attitudes and Self Efficacy)

  • Objectives: This study was aimed to develop a pharmacovigilance practice training course for future doctors of Korean medicine, the graduate students of a college of Korean medicine, and to verify the educational effect of the curriculum. Methods: Fifty-six students were given a training course designed as follows: 1) pre-class homework (basic theory self-study, online course, causality assessment, and adverse event reporting simulation); 2) in-class: homework submission and case discussion; 3) after-class: homework revision and resubmission. An online survey to assess the change of the level of basic knowledge and attitudes toward pharmacovigilance, the willingness to report adverse events, and self-efficacy for the causality assessment and adverse event reporting was conducted before and after education. Results: The survey participation rate was 96.5% in pre-education and 64.3% in the post-education survey. After education, knowledge level was improved (mean score from 4.3±2.11 to 6.7±1.96 points, modal value from 3 to 8 points) and positive changes were observed in almost all questions on attitudes. In the post-education survey, more students felt that they could do causality assessment (from 13% to 80.5%), could report adverse events to the agency in charge (from 7.4% to 96.2%), and expressed their strong willingness to report adverse events in the future (from 77.8% to 88.9%) than in the pre-education survey. Conclusions: More schools of Korean medicine need to adopt pharmacovigilance training courses in their curriculum to foster future doctors of Korean medicine with pharmacovigilance capabilities. Such efforts will be the basis for achieving an evidence-based, safe use of herbal medicine.

중소기업 사내 교육훈련이 직무만족 및 직무성과 향상에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Education and Training of Small Businessess on Improving Job Satisfaction and Job Performance)

  • 본 연구는 중소기업 사내 교육훈련이 직무만족 및 직무성과 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 교육훈련 활용도와 참여형 실습시간 충분도였으며 직무대응도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 사내 교육훈련의 품질, 교육훈련 활용도, 실습시간 충분도로 나타났다. 향후 지속적 교육훈련 참여 의지에 영향을 미치는 요인은 교육훈련 정보 접근성, 교육장 위치 및 교육 환경, 실습시간 충분도로 나타났으며 여성과 생산직 근로자의 교육훈련 참여 의지가 높았고 20대, 3-5년 근속 근로자의 교육훈련 만족도가 상대적으로 낮아 이를 높일 필요가 있다고 평가된다. 본 연구는 중소기업 사내 교육훈련이 직무만족 및 직무성과 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 사내 교육훈련의 성과를 높이기 위해 효과적인 요인을 탐색하고 그 영향력을 검증한 데 연구의 의의가 있다.

K 대학교 치위생학과 학생의 해외임상실습참여가 임상실습만족도, 전공만족도 및 해외취업의사에 미치는 영향 (Effect of K University Dental Hygiene Department students' participation in overseas clinical practice on satisfaction with practice, major, and intention to work abroad)

  • 연구배경: 강원도 K 대학교 치위생학과 학생의 해외임상실습참여에 따른 임상실습만족도 및 전공만족도, 해외취업의사의 차이를 분석하고자 시행하였다. 연구방법: 치위생학과 3,4학년 편의추출하여 총 215명에게 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 불성실 응답 1부를 제외하고 최종 214부를 분석하였다. 일반적인 특성은 성별, 학년, 치과 아르바이트 경험, 부모님 합산 월소득, 해외여행 경험, 토익 응시 여부, 학교 성적을 조사하였다. 학과 만족도와 학교 성적은 5점 Likert 척도로 측정하였다. 임상실습 관련 만족도는 임상실습 만족도, 해외실습 참여 의향, 해외취업 관심도를 조사하였다. 임상실습 만족도, 해외실습 참여도, 해외취업 관심도는 '만족(참여)한다', '보통이다', '만족(참여)하지 않는다'로 재구분하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 해외임상실습에 참여자의 임상실습 만족도는 5점 만점의 4.00±1.00, 미참여자는 3.75±1.02, 전공만족도는 참여자 3.57±0.93, 미참여자 3.48±0.80로 차이가 있었으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(p=.239, z=-1.177)(p=.570, z=-.568) 추후 해외로의 임상실습 참여 에 대하여 해외실습 참여자는 66.7%가 참여 의향이 있고, 원하지 않는 참여자는 없었으며 미참여자 40.9%는 참여의향이 없었으며 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 해외 취업에 대하여 참여자는 76.2%, 미참여자는 19.2%가 관심을 가지고 있으며 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 결론: 학생들의 해외실습 참여를 통해 실습 및 전공 만족도가 높아졌으며, 향후 해외실습 및 해외인턴십 프로그램 참여에 대한 긍정적인 의향을 갖고 있음을 확인하였다.

WTP모델 기반의 비즈니스모델 평가: PBR, 가격책정과 비즈니스모델 평가기준 (Business Model Evaluation based on WTP Model: Pricing-by-rating(PBR) as the Baseline of Pricing Policy and a Criterion of Business Model Evaluation)

  • 이 논문은 미시(微視)기반레벨에서 (at Micro-Foundations level) PBR(등급에 의한 가격책정)도구를 개발하여 PBR이 어느 상황에서든 가격책정(Pricing)의 기준과 비즈니스모델평가에 대한 일반적인 기준으로 사용될 수 있음을 주장하고 있다. 본 논문은 우선 구매력과 지불/구매의향 (Willingness to Pay/Purchase: WTP)을 동시에 지니고 있는 현시니즈(Explicit Needs)로부터 WTP모델을 유도하여 WTP수준과 WTS(willingness to supply/sell: 공급/판매의향) 수준간의 간격에 대한 서열척도(ordinal scale)를 취하여 PBR방법을 개발하였다. 구체적으로 고객이 기대하는 이상적 마케팅믹스인 최선의 SPEC (Solution, Price Indicator by WTP, Encouragement, Channel)과 기업이 제공하는 실제 마케팅믹스 (Marketing Mix) 4P에 대하여 우선 각 구성요소 마다마다를 상호 개별적으로 비교할 뿐만 아니라 전체를 하나로 인식하여 상호 비교함으로써 PBR방법을 개발한 후 이를 적용한 몇 가지 예시를 통해서 PBR방법이 실제로 비즈니스모델을 평가하는데 사용될 수 있음을 보여 준다. 결론적으로 본 논문은 어떤 상황에서든 PBR이 가격책정과 비즈니스모델의 평가도구로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다고 주장한다.

Taste education reduces food neophobia and increases willingness to try novel foods in school children

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study measured the effects of a taste education program developed in Korea on food neophobia and willingness to try novel foods in school children. SUBJECTS/METHODS: One-hundred and twenty school children (aged 7-9 years) residing in Seoul participated in 12 sessions of a taste education program for 3 months. The Korean taste education program was adapted from "Les classes du gout" by J. Puisais and modified to suit a Korean education environment. The study subjected school children to pre- and post-programs on food neophobia and willingness to try novel foods (WTNF), in addition to children's food neophobia in their parents. A total of 101 survey data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0. RESULTS: Regarding the effects of taste education, scores of food neophobia significantly decreased (P < 0.01) in the posttest, mean (m) score ($4.10{\pm}1.19$) decreased compared to the pretest ($4.39{\pm}1.00$), and WTNF significantly increased (P < 0.001) in the pretest (m) score ($0.48{\pm}0.33$) compared to the pretest ($0.32{\pm}0.34$). This result indicates verification of the study hypothesis. CONCLUSIONS: Food neophobia scale (FNS), an index that measures personal food preference [1,2], showed a very weak correlation with behavioral willingness to taste novel foods (WTNF). Therefore, it is expected that the two scales measure different things. However, considering that the traits of food neophobia are not easily changed, the taste education program was administered in a remarkably effective manner.

Impact of a "TED-Style" presentation on potential patients' willingness to accept dental implant therapy: a one-group, pre-test post-test study

  • PURPOSE. A survey was conducted to assess the impact of a TED-like educational session on participants' willingness to accept dental implant therapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Volunteers interested in having information about dental implant therapies were recruited and asked to complete a two-part survey before and after an educational session. The initial survey elicited demographic information, self-perceived knowledge on dental implants and willingness to this kind of treatment. A "TED-style" presentation that provided information about dental implant treatments was conducted before asking the participants to complete a second set of questions assessing the impact of the session. RESULTS. The survey was completed by 104 individuals, 78.8% were women and the mean age was $66.5{\pm}10.8$. Before the educational session, 76.0% of the participants refused dental implants mainly due to lack of knowledge. After the educational session, the rejection of dental implants decreased by almost four folds to 20.2%. CONCLUSION. This study proved that an educational intervention can significantly increase willingness to accept treatment with dental implants in a segment of the population who is interested in having information about dental implant therapy. Furthermore, educational interventions, such as TED-like talks, might be useful to increase popular awareness on dental implant therapy.
