Therefore, in this paper, the writer compares some elements to improve the working ability shown in the curriculum of Korean and American archival graduate programs, and suggests the method to cultivate a theoretical knowledge as well as working ability. The cultivating ways the writer suggests are as follows: To improve the working ability in a practical field of the curriculum of archival graduate school in Korea, the writer suggests -- 1. increasing the grades of major field and college courses, and changing the practice subject to an obligatory subject, and 2. developing an internship program for a full practice with company, government, and college, and 3. operating a continuous training program that an records manager engaging in records center and archives can acquire a new knowledge and technology and apply the professionalism to a working field.

  • This study examined the condition of an educational discourse, relating the concept of creativity, culture, culture-centered, and critical thinking, to explore Culture-based Art Education(CBAE). In particular, art education practice was examined using interpretations of creativity and critical theory positions from the field of education. Discourse analysis was used as the research method to contextually situate and analyze the ways in which art education theory and practice of creativity and of critical studies encoded meanings. The study helped build an understanding that creativity was formed as a modernist discourse in the humanistic stance. In education, creativity became the fundamental concern for progressive educators who pursued innate ability of individuals. The way to enhance creative potential of students was to induce their motive, as was the same case in art education, while in artist training, free expression was its main method. In this way, as creativity was intimately connected with the concept of expression, in art education art making is the only course for enhancing creativity. However, because creative process cannot intelligently be regarded as logically distinct from the creative product, and creativity can only be said by product, it seems valid to think that creativity is the quality not to be achieved by teaching. Furthermore, its emphasis on art making resulted in unbalance of art making and art appreciation in art education. It was the late sixties when several alternatives for creative education were made their appearance. Critical studies in art adopted critical theory as its theoretical background has developed as an alternative of creative art education, when research and theory for creativity could not be adequate to deal with the problem of practice. Critical theory is a broad and diverse field of theory and practice drawing on aspects of the modernist perspective of the later Frankfurt School, feminism, Freirean pedagogy, postcolonial discourse as well as postmodernism to construct a practical approach to education. It is very this eclectic nature to provide the mosaic that need to experience cultures from different perspectives in a pluralistic society. Because one's personality is formed by multiple aspects of culture which is very complex and is made up of what we do and value, creativity cannot make part of educational discourse with the philosophy of culture centered. On the other hand, critical studies, as a school art program of critical theory, can perform the role of CBAE, because it would have to deal with the investigation of social and cultural issues form multiple personal, local, national, and global perspectives.

  • This study was conducted to provide information useful in developing a nursing curriculum. The sample consisted of 158 nursing students in Hanyang University and 34 faculty members who has taught them in their college & the practical area. Data were collected by using a structured questionnaire, which consisted of general characteristics of the students & their self-concept, teacher's perception of student's professional roles. The results are summarized as follows; 1. General characteristics of the students When the students applied for the university, they decided what they would specialized in. Because the motive of application for their major was simply based on their high school records, they were admitted to their university without previous knowledge of their major. The reason why they wanted to tranfer to another course after the admission was the same as above. The level of satisfaction of their major was the highest in Freshman, but in other grades the higher the;, grades were, the more they satisfied with their major and they had a better prospects about their speciality. 2. Self-concept in profermance for their major Self-concept in horne aspects was more positive perception than in social aspects & self control aspects. It resulted from tile fact that all students were females and the nursing uniqueness was based on the spirit of humanity & service. The students who had graduated from the high school in rural area wanted to tranfer to another course and taken counsel their personal problems with their parents had higher self-concept in horne aspects. As their grades were higher, the self-concept in social aspects bacame higher. The students who were satisfied with their major and took counsel their personal problems with their parents had more positive self - concept in social aspects. Self-concept in self control aspects was lower than other aspects. The students who didn't take counsel their problems with their parents, were burdened with their educational expenses and their curriculum had more negative self-concept in self control aspects. Therefore the university should be concerned about student's welfare and provide detailed orientation about their curriculum. 3. Teacher's perception about learner's professional role The role model of democratic group leader, role models for learners facilitator in a students' reach for knowledge and teaching based on soundly researched theory showed more positive perception than other factors. • The study applied a narrative inquiry to the undergraduate interdisciplinary course taught for three years(2012~2014). Narratively I have described interactions among teachers' and students' performing the interdisciplinary consilience course with various situations such as place, curriculum and class interaction. I have specifically illuminated a three-dimensional narrative inquiry space embracing the dilemma of the consilience curriculum, PBL(Problem Based Learning) and TBL(Team Based Learning), and an effective presentation. The result of the study is as follows: First, the ratio of giving lecture is high. The burden of doing project will be reduce if the teacher decreases the lecture up to one fourth, gives students enough time to finish their tasks, and gives them advice for a better project. Second, for opening the interdisciplinary consilience class maintaining previous college curriculum, each department has to put a 'consilience course' on the existing curriculum that allows teachers open the consilience course whenever they need to teach with other department teachers. Third, an effective teaching method using the PBL(Problem Based Learning) in Team Based Learning environment is making students to consider projects as problem situations to solve and to apply the problem situations to PBL method. Lastly, teachers should give students lots of opportunities for presenting what they have learned in the class. Three times of presentation as a team member is ideal in a semester but the way of presenting has to be changed. The students in next year will relieve the tension of 30 minute instead of 15 minute, two days instead of one day for the team presentation.

  • The point of departure is the Popularity of the electronic games among the youth generation. This study attempts to make up a questionnaire containing the questions which are intended for the youth generation realistically and at the same time in a meaningful way pedagogically. Any researcher who wants to understand the youth culture at the present time is necessary to approach the youth generation in a positive attitude of learning, so asking the questions to the youth generation is as important as having the answers. That is to say, this paper is not a statistical analysis of the questionnaire, nor a empirical research of youth's reception of the electronic games. Now that the emphasis of the paper is located on the very way of approaching the youth generation concerning the electronic games, this study starts with the university students in the first place because they are in a more advantageous milieu for conversation in the classroom on the subject. To be sure, this study will be able to cover the whole area of primary, junior or senior high-school by way of some modifications. Conclusively, this paper aims at providing with practical ideas of teaching, which immediately can be appropriated into the classroom by the teachers in the actual field, and drawing attention to the potential educational contents of the cultural products. Furthermore, the questionnaire proposed in the paper is meant for the first step towards the aesthetics of the electronic games with a view to the game-imagination.

  • This study was conducted to identify the effects of baby care using dolls on nursing students' major satisfaction, class satisfaction, and knowledge of newborn care. A quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group, pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects of the study were 95 nursing college students who agreed to participate. The control group (n=47) received lecture education consisting of watching newborn videos while the experimental group (n=48) received a practical education involving caring for a doll resembling an infant. Data were collected from March to May, 2019 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, χ2-tests, and t-tests with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The major satisfaction score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, but it was not statistically significant (t=1.64, p=.107). The score for class satisfaction differed significantly between the experimental group and control group (t=2.08, p=.043). The knowledge of newborn care score for the experimental group was higher than that for the control group, and there was a statistically significant difference (t=-5.82, p<.001). Overall, the results show that baby care using a doll has positive effects on class satisfaction and knowledge of newborn care. In the future, it will be necessary to develop and apply effective teaching methods in line with the times.
