In this study, the effects of the compaction method for (Mg+2B) powders on the apparent density and superconducting properties of $MgB_2$ bulk superconductor were investigated. The raw powders used in this study were nano-sized boron (B) and spherical magnesium (Mg). A batch of a powder mixture of (Mg+2B) was put in a steel mold and uniaxially pressed at 1 ton or 3 tons into pellets. Another batch of the powder mixture was uniaxially pressed at 1 ton and then pressed isostatically at $1800kg/cm^2$ in the water chamber. All pellets were heat-treated at $650^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in flowing argon gas for the formation of $MgB_2$. The apparent density of powder compacts pressed at 3 ton was higher than that at 1 ton. The cold isostatic pressing (CIP) in a water chamber allowed further increase of the apparent density of powder compacts, which influenced the pellet density of the final products ($MgB_2$). The compaction methods (uniaxial pressing and CIP) did not affect the formation of $MgB_2$ and superconducting critical temperature ($T_c$) of $MgB_2$, but affected the critical current density ($J_c$) of $MgB_2$ significantly. The sample with the high apparent density showed high $J_c$ at 5 K and 20 K at applied magnetic fields (0-5 T).
Granulation formed from mixture of sulfate of potash (SOP) powder and pulverized silica minerals (Zeolite, Serpentine and Talc) was studied to establish granulation rate and physical properties of granules. These mixtures were granulated in a pan granulator with water and granules of SOP were coated with minerals powder. Mixture of SOP and mineral powder by half (w/w) were increased granulation rate compared with pure SOP powder, and talc was superior to them with SOP. Water was needed about 14% to granulate SOP powder alone, but it decreased by 2% with talc and increased by 4% and 2% with zeolite and serpentine, respectively. Granules of mixture of SOP with zeolite were harder than pure SOP granules but with another minerals powder decreased in hardness. Also breaking rate of granules in vinyl parcel falling from 2m height and abrasion rate of granules by agitation were improved by mixing and coating with zeolite but with the other were of inferior.

When the concrete surface layer is damaged, The method of impregnating the concrete surface with a water repellent cannot secure the expected durability. Recently, various waterproofing and water-repellent materials were mixed into concrete or mortar to secure water repellency even inside cracks, but compressive strength was greatly reduced. In order to overcome the decrease in compressive strength, there has not yet been a study using the merits of organic and inorganic materials at the same time, so in this study, the physical properties and water repellency performance were evaluated by mixing an organic/inorganic composite water repellent appropriately mixed with an organic and inorganic material into the mortar. When mixed with organic/inorganic water repellent, the flow and air content were reduced by about 10% and 50% compared to the Liquid specimen. In the case of the P6L1 specimen, it was confirmed that the compressive strength decreased by about 3.5% compared to the non-mixed mortar at 39.5 MPa, the same as the existing water repellent, Powder. Water-repellent performance The organic-inorganic composite water repellent mixture specimen confirmed higher water repellency than the existing water repellent mixture powder, and the chloride penetration resistance evaluation result showed that the organic-inorganic composite water repellent mixture specimen reduced the passing charge by about 45% compared to the non-mixed mortar. In summary, it is judged that the P5L1 organic/inorganic composite water repellent mixed with a powder water repellent and a liquid water repellent in a ratio of 5:1 is the most reasonable to prevent the decrease in compressive strength and secure water repellency.
This study examined the correlation of various operational factors including reaction temperature and the quantity of reductant and diluent with the characteristics of powder using $K_2$ TaF$_{7}$ as feed materials, Na as a reductant and KCl/KF as a diluent. Also to control the particle size and shape, external supply system developed, it can provide a feed material and a reductant at a fixed quantity and evaluated the characteristics of tantalum powder. When the external supply system was applied instead of the batch type process that charges feed material, reductant and diluent at the same time, it was possible to induce regular reduction reaction between feed material and reductant, which increased the recovery rate and reduced the mixture of impurities. In particular, the application of the external supply system enabled the control of reaction temperature and reaction speed according to the feeding rate of feed material during reduced reaction, and resultantly it enabled the manufacturing of granular-shaped powder with a regular granularity of 2∼3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and purity of 99.5%.
Zr-Ti alloy powders were successfully synthesized by magnesium thermal reduction of metal chlorides. The evaporated and mixed gasses of $ZrCl_4+TiCl_4$ were injected to liquid magnesium and the chloride components were reduced by magnesium leading to the formation of $MgCl_2$. The released Zr and Ti atoms were then condensed to particle forms inside the mixture of liquid magnesium and magnesium chloride, which could be dissolved fully in post process by 1~5% HCl solution at room temperature. By the fraction-control of individually injected $ZrCl_4$ and $TiCl_4$ gasses, the final compositions of produced alloy powders were changed in the ranges of Zr-0 wt.%~20 wt.%Ti and their purity and particle size were about 99.4% and the level of several micrometers, respectively.

In this study, the synthesis of nickel nanoparticles and copper nanospheres for the potential applications of MLCC electrode materials has been studied by plasma arc evaporation method. The change in the broad distribution of the size of nickel and copper nanopowders is successfully controlled by manifesting proper mixture of gas ambiance for plasma generation in the size range of 20 to 200 nm in diameter. The factors affecting the mean diameter of the nanopowder was studied by changing the composition of reactive gases, indicating that nitrogen enhances the formation of larger particles compared to hydrogen gas. The morphologies and particle sizes of the metal nanoparticles were observed by SEM, and ultrathin oxide layers on the powder surface generated during passivation step have been confirmed using TEM. The metallic FCC structure of the nanoparticles was confirmed using powder X-ray diffraction method.
For the fabrication of a multi-pole anisotropic Sr-ferrite magnet by powder injection molding, it is important to control effectively the alignment of magnetic powders during the injection molding process. The effect of the fluidity of powder/binder mixture on the powder alignment was studied with changing the particle sizes and the volume fraction of Sr-ferrite magnetic powders. The critical volume fraction of Sr-ferrite powders increases from 58 vol.% to 64 vol.% as the mean powder size increases from $0.8\;\mu\textrm{m}$ to $1.2\;\mu\textrm{m}$. A Sr-ferrite powder alignment greater than 80 % is achieved at the conditions of an apparent viscosity lower than 1000 poise at $1600\;sec^{-1}$ shear rate, an applied magnetic field higher than 4 kOe, and a powder volume fraction 8 vol.% lower than the critical fraction. The powder alignment obtained during the injection molding process is not much affected by the subsequent processes of debinding and sintering, showing the magnetic properties of 3.8 kG of remanent flux density and 3.37 kOe of intrinsic coercivity.

Nitriding and post-sintering behavior of powder mixture compacts were investigated. As mixture compacts are different from simple Si compacts, the fabrication of a sintered body with a mixture composition has engineering implications. In this research, in specimens without a pore former, the extent of nitridation increased with $Si_3N_4$ content, while the highest extent of nitridation was measured in $Si_3N_4$-free composition when a pore former was added. Large pores made from the thermal decomposition of the pore former collapsed, and they were filled with a reaction product, reaction-bonded silicon nitride (RBSN) in the $Si_3N_4$-free specimen. On the other hand, pores from the decomposed pore former were retained in the $Si_3N_4$-added specimen. Introduction of small $Si_3N_4$ particles ($d_{50}=0.3{\mu}m$) into a powder compact consisting of large silicon particles ($d_{50}=7{\mu}m$) promoted close packing in the green body compact, and resulted in a stable strut structure after decomposition of the pore former. The local packing density of the strut structure depends on silicon to $Si_3N_4$ size ratio and affected both nitriding reaction kinetics and microstructure in the post-sintered body.

This feeding experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary inclusion of various additives on growth performance, hematological parameters, fatty acid composition, gene expression and histopathological changes in juvenile olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus). Eleven isonitrogenous (49% crude protein) and isolipidic (10% crude lipid) experimental diets were formulated: no additives (Con); 5% kelp meal (Ke); 10% krill meal (Kr); 1% garlic powder (Ga); 1% citrus meal (Ci); 3% onion powder (On); 1% ginger powder (Gi); 1% mugwort powder (Mu); 1% licorice powder (Li); 1% wasabi powder (Wa); and a mixture (Mix) of these additives. Three replicate groups of juvenile flounder (average weight of 8.5 g) were fed one of the experimental diets to visual satiety twice a day for 15 weeks. The dietary inclusion of additives did not affect survival, weight gain, specific growth rate feed efficiency, daily feed intake, daily protein intake, protein efficiency ratio, hepatosomatic index and visceralsomatic index of the fish. Plasma triglyceride levels were significantly lower in fish fed the Ke, Ga, On, Gi, Mu, Li, and Mix diets than in fish fed the control diet. Plasma glucose, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and total cholesterol did not differ among dietary treatments. No significant difference was observed in fatty acid composition and lipid content of the dorsal muscle in fish fed the experimental diets. Myosin gene expression did not differ significantly among treatments after 5 weeks but was significantly lower in fish fed the Kr, Ci, Li, and Mix diets than in control group after 15 weeks. Histopathological analysis showed mild gill hyperplasia and mild necrosis of liver parenchymal cells in several individuals of each experimental group. These conditions were also observed in the control group and were not thought to be related to the inclusion of feed additives. The present findings indicate that the dietary inclusion of additives did not affect growth performance, fatty acid composition, gene expression, and histopathological changes in juvenile flounder. However, plasma triglyceride content may be reduced by supplementation with 5% kelp meal, 3% onion powder, 1% garlic powder, 1% ginger powder, 1% mugwort powder, and the additive mixture.

The preparation methods are to be used as "melting method" and "absorption method", respectively. The reaction mixture in the reaction container was heating up the reaction mixture to $200^{\circ}C$ for 2 hour. The mixing time of lab scale preparation should be provided quit long, instead of the short working time in a compounder vessel. And The PP-PCM mixture in the reaction container was heating up the mixture around $60-80^{\circ}C$ for 2 hour. A melting method of frozen gel with 50/50 weight ratio of polypropylene-normal octadecane was prepared by adding PP chip and normal octadecane. An absorption method of frozen gel with 70/30 weight ratio of PP 4.8-normal n-octadecane was prepared by adding PP powder and normal octadecnae.
