망막 ON형 쌍극세포의 광응답에 따른 다중성분의 전달물질 방출에 관한 해석 (Analysis on Multi-Components of Neurotransmitter Release in Response to Light of Retinal ON-Type Bipolar Cells)

  • 망막 쌍극세포는 광자극에 대하여 완만한 전위응답을 하며, 막전위에 의존하여 전달물질(glutamine 산)을 방출한다. 본 논문에서는 ON형 쌍극세포의 시냅스 앞단에서 전달물질 방출 기구에 관한 여러 가지의 생리학적 정보를 수식적 모델로 통합하였다. 전달물질 방출의 빠른 성분과 느린 성분의 공급원을 병렬로 배치한 본 모델은 전달물질 방출의 막전위 및 세포 내 $Ca^{2+}$ 농도 의존성을 충실하게 재현할 수가 있었다. 또한 전달물질의 빠른 방출 성분은 사다리꼴 모양의 막전위 의존성을 나타내는 데에 반하여, 느린 방출 성분은 종모양의 막전위 의존성을 나타내기 때문에 세포 내의 $Ca^{2+}$ 농도 상승을 $Ca^{2+}$ 완충제로 억제하여 느린 방출 성분이 감소되고, 전달 물질 방출의 막전위 의존성이 사다리꼴 모양의 특성이 되는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 ON 형 쌍극세포의 광응답에서 일시적 성분과 지속적 성분에 의하여 발생하는 전달물질 방출을 시뮬레이션한 결과 광응답의 시작은 전달물질을 빠르게 방출하게 하였으며, 광응답의 일시적 성분과 초기의 지속적 성분은 전달물질을 느리게 방출하도록 하였다. 또한 광응답의 후기 지속적 성분은 저장 pool로부터 보충된 시냅스 소포에 의하여 지속적인 방출이 발생하기 때문이라는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Ethylcellulose-PEG 4000 film coated on core tablets was investigated as a potential drug delivery system for the controlled release of chlorpheniramine maleate (CPM). The kinetic analysis of the release data indicated that CPM release followed a diffusion-controlled model, where the quantity released per unit area is proportional to the square root of time. The effect of the film composition, CPM concentration, plasticizer concentration and CPM solubility on the release characteristics were examined. The release rate constant increased as CPM concentration increased. It also increased as the PEG 4000 content in the film increased above 10%(w/w), however, it decreased as the PEG 4000 content increased in the concentration range below 10%(w/w). The release rate constant was not affected by the coated weight on the core tablet. The film-coated tablets which contain CPM only in the coated film layer seemed to be a potential oral drug delivery system for the controlled release of CPM.

Microplastic release from damaged commercial teabags

  • The use of plastics in our everyday lives have been drastically increased during the last few decades. However with the usage of commercial plastic products there is a possibility of microplastic consumption, due to the fragmentation of the products. Additionally, the potential for microplastic ingestion may also be increased by using damaged products. Hence, the current study was conducted to understand the potential release of micro/nano plastics and organic matter from damaged teabags. To check the leakage tendency, the amount of damage to the tea bags from 1-10 cm were tested along with temperatures of 25-70℃, and exposure times from 5 min to 1 hr was tested. Release of fibrous micro/nanoplastics, and organic leachate from the damaged teabags were observed to understand the outflow conditions. Results showed that with the increased degree of damage, temperature, and exposure time increased the release of fiberous matter, where the increase of temperature, and exposure time increased organic leachate. Additional analysis confirmed the leachate of nylon polymers into the heated water.

  • Analytical potential energy surfaces have been constructed for the four-center elimination of HCI from 1,1-dichloroethylene.The potential functions are Morse-type functions which are modified by appropriate switching and attenuating functions with adjustable parameters. The parameters have been found by fitting the calculated vibrational frequencies, reaction endothermicity, equlibrium geometries of the reactant and products to those of experiments and ab initio calculations. The translational energy release obtained from classical trajectory calculations on this surface is in good agreement with the experiment.

  • Here we show that panaxadiol, a ginseng saponin with a dammarane skeleton, induces acute apoptotic cell death in human hepatoma SK-HEP-1 cells as evidenced by analysis of DNA fragmentation, caspase activation, and changes in cell morphology. The kinetic study showed that panaxadiol-induced apoptosis is associated with depolarization of mitochondrial membrane potential and cytochrome c release. Sequential activations of caspases-depolarization of mitochondrial membrane potential and cytochrome c release. Sequential activations of caspases-9, and -3, or -7, but not of caspase 8 coincide well in a time dependent manner with mitochondrial membrane depolarization and cytochrome c release from mitochondria during apoptosis of SK-HEP-1 cells induced by treatment with panaxadiol. 호수의 물 순환이 저니의 인 용출율에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Water Circulation on the Phosphorus Release Rate from Sediments in the Lake)

  • In this research, effects of water circulation on phosphorus release from sediment into water body were studied. Sediments sampled at the Daechung Lake were used for the column experiments with circulation and non-circulation conditions. Deaeration coefficient, $K_1$ and reaeration coefficient, $K_2$ of non-circulation condition were 0.133 and 0, respectively, while $K_1$ and $K_2$ for circulation condition were 0.46 and 0.018, respectively. Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) showed a linear relationship with dissolved oxygen (DO) when DO is over 2 mg/L. Phosphorus concentration induced by phosphorus release from sediment was highly dependent upon DO, ORP, and pH. Under anaerobic condition, phosphorus release rate was higher for $Fe^{2+}$-bounded phosphorus compared to that of $Ca^{2+}$-bounded phosphorus.

Pectin Microspheres for Oral Colon Delivery: Preparation Using Spray Drying Method and In Vitro Release of Release of Indomethacin

  • Drug delivery systems that are based on pectin have been studied for colon specific delivery using the specific activity of colon microflora. The aim of this study was to design a novel method of manufacturing pectin microspheres without oils and surfactants and to investigate the potential use of the pectin microspheres as an oral colon-specific drug carrier. The pectin microspheres were successfully formed using the spray drying method and crosslinking with calcium chloride. From the crosslinked pectin microspheres, indomethacin (IND) release was more suppressed than its release from non-crosslinked microspheres. In a low pH (pH 1.4) environment, the pectin microspheres released IND at an amount of about 18${\pm}$2% of the total loaded weight for 24 h while the release rate of IND was stimulated at neutral pH (pH 7.4). IND release from the pectin microspheres was increased by the addition of pectinase. The results clearly demonstrate that the pectin microspheres that were prepared by the spray drying and crosslinking methods are potential carriers for colon-specific drug deliveries.

석회 처리에 의한 오염 퇴적물 내 중금속의 형태 변화 및 용출 가능성 (Chemical Forms and Release Potential of Heavy Metals from the Lime Treated Sediments)

  • 오염물질을 제거하기 위한 방법 중 하나인 석회 처리를 통하여 청초호 표층 퇴적물에 함유된 중금속의 존재 형태 변화와 환경변화시 수층으로의 용출가능성을 알아보았다. 연속추출 방법을 사용하여 중금속의 화학적 형태를 분석하였고 수층으로의 용출 가능성은 흡착된 형태와 공침된 형태의 합으로 하였다. 석회 처리 전의 청초호 퇴적물에 함유된 Cd과 Cu 및 Zn의 존재형태는 호수 바닥과 같은 혐기성 상태에서 안정된 산화성 형태가 많았으나 석회 처리 시료에서는 이 부분의 비율이 줄어든 반면 용출되기 쉬운 부분인 흡착된 형태와 공침된 형태의 비율이 증가하였다. 이는 석회 첨가로 인한 공극수의 pH상승과 대기중에 노출로 인한 산화에 의한 것으로 판단된다. 수층으로 이동 가능한 부분의 비율은 Cd의 경우 석회함량 15%, Pb은 10%, Cu와 Zn은 20%에서 높게 나타나 중금속으로 오염된 퇴적물의 석회 처리는 퇴적물에 함유된 중금속의 용출을 증가시킬 가능성이 있는 것으로 사료된다.

골격근 수축에 있어서 근장그물로부터의 Ca$^{2+}$ 유리 기전에 대한 고찰 (Review of Sarcoplasmic Reticulum Ca$^{2+}$ Releasing Mechanisms in Skeletal Muscle Contraction)

  • Skeletal muscle cells are activated by ${\alpha}$-motorneurons which release acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. This results in a local depolarization of surface membrane which triggers an action potential. The action potential propagates along the surface membrane and also into the T-tubule system. In the triads T-tubules are in close connection with the terminal cisternae of the sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR). The action potential activaies T-tubule voltage sensors(DHP receptors). which activates SR Ca$^{2+}$ release channels(ryanodinc receptors). Ca$^{2+}$ have a key role in skeletal muscle in that an increase of free myoplasmic Ca$^{2+}$ concentration. The process of coupling chemical and electrical signals at the cell surface to the intracellular release of Ca$^{2+}$and ultimate contraction of muscle fibers is termed excitation-contraction coupling(ECC). Coupling of cel1 surface signals to intracellular Ca$^{2+}$ release proceeds by several mechanisms in skeletal muscle cells. This review focus on sarcopiasmic reticulum(SR) Ca$^{2+}$ releasing mechanisms from sarcoplasmic reticulum in the skeletal muscle. The mechanisms include DCCR, CICR, and HCR.

Essential oil impregnation into graphene sponges with electric desorption control

  • This work shows the impregnation of scents using a graphene sponge (GS). This was functionalized by the modified Hummers method, pursuing to add different functional groups. It is proposed to achieve the release and seek to control it through electrical potential applied to the graphene sponge with essential oils. The graphene sponge was functionalized and steeped with two kinds of oil. The electrochemical study demonstrates the variation in the electrochemical behaviour of the functionalized graphene sponge without and impregnated with oil. The release of the oil and its aromatic scents was carried out by applying an electrical potential of 30 V, with a release rate of 1.86 mg/min. The heating of the sample that causes the release of oil, associated with the electrical resistance of the system, reaches temperatures of about 150℃. The essential oils, graphene sponge, surfactant, graphene sponge with essential oils, graphene sponge recuperated after applying electric potential, graphene sponge recovered by temperature and dipropylene glycol (DPG) were characterized using Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), digital microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
