글로벌 컨테이너 항만 물동량의 구조적 변화에 관한 연구(2003~'19) - 세계 100대 컨테이너 항만을 대상으로 (A Study on the Structural Changes in Global Container Ports' Throughput(2003~'19) based on Top 100 Container Ports in the World)

  • 컨테이너 항만의 역할은 해상운송을 지원하는 동시에 해륙을 연결하는 공급사슬의 중심적 위치를 점함으로써 교역과 국가 또는 지역 경제활성화에 크게 기여하고 있다. 항만의 물동량은 지리적, 경제적, 운영적 요인 등에 의해 성과(물동량)이 좌우된다. 지난 수십년간 컨테이너 항만별 물동량은 변동성을 유지하면서 성장하여왔다. 본 연구는 글로벌 항만이 지역별, 규모별, 시기별로 물동량에서 어떤 변화를 겪어 왔는지를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석을 위해 글로벌 100위의 항만을 대상으로 하였으며 방법론으로는 변이할당분석과 BCG 매트릭스 분석을 활용하였다. 분석결과 전체적으로 지난 16년간 항만 물동량의 상대적 변동성은 제한적인 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 경제적으로 성장기에 있는 중국과 동남 및 서남아시아의 항만들은 성장세를 나타낸 반면 동북아, 유럽 등의 항만들은 정체 또는 쇠퇴기에 접어든 것으로 나타났다. 이들 통해 볼 때 대부분의 글로벌 항만들은 이미 해당 지역에서의 중심항으로 자리매김하고 있기 때문에 낮은 물동량의 변동성을 유지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 글로벌 항만 물동량은 해당 지역 또는 국가의 경제적 역량의 변화와 밀접한 관계를 가지는 것을 알 수 있다.

Searching for Best Practices in Developing Ports as Logistics Centers

  • Global firms are seeking to implement their global logistics strategies in two ways: the use of centralized inventories and/or postponement of final assembly. These strategies stress the importance of regional logistics centers. In most cases, regional logistics centers are located in or near ports so that changing demands can be met with economy, reliability and flexibility, The port can profit not only from the activities of logistics center itself, but also the increasing flow of cargo through the logistics center. A number of ports respond to this trend by shifting their emphasis from traditional cargo-handling services to value-added services. This paper presents guidelines drawn from the best practices of ports to be successful logistics centers to provide many aspects of value-added logistics services. These include: Effective Planning and Development of Logistics Centers; Institutional Incentive Scheme; Development of Free Trade Zones; Financing Infrastructure related to Logistics Centers; Developing Logistics Service Providers and Logistics Professionals; Development of Information Technology; and Regulatory and Administrative Issues. These guidelines will help managers of ports and policy makers of governments in the East Asian region learn to recognize, analyze and adopt the best practices for use.

DEA 모형을 이용한 세계 주요 항만의 효율성 평가 (An Empirical Study on the Efficiency of Major Container Ports with DEA Model)

  • 본 연구는 부산항을 포함한 세계 주요 컨테이너 항만들의 효율성을 DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis)모형을 통해 상대적으로 분석함으로써, 부산항의 현재 위치와 더 효율석인 항만이 되기 위해 벤치마킹(Benchmarking)해야 할 대상을 구체화하였다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 일정시점의 효율성 분석이 아닌 1995년-2001년까지 7개년의 효율성을 시계열적으로 분석함으로써 각 항만의 효율성 변화할 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 부산항은 95년, 96년을 제외한 나머지 연도에 대해서 비효율적인 항만으로 구분되었으며, 97년 이래로 효율성 지수가 다소 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently, the role of container ports is radically changing, These changes are largely driven by the innovation process of Logistics such as Supply Chain Logistics and Global Logistics due to the international expansional of industry. Under this environment, It is required that the container port should act as a integral part of a Supply Logistics Chain especially to provide the customer-oriented logistics service. This paper deals with the development strategy of container ports coping with these changes in the view point of container ports as a Logistics infrastructure to provide customer-response services and necessary to the economic promotion of hinterlands. Strategy is suggested in the phases of the customers desire, the pattern of container cargo, the economic promotion of hinterlands, and interrelation of container ports in north-east Asia and also domestics through the analysis of competiveness of container ports.

An Analysis of the Mediterranean Cruise Ports' Network Using Social Network Analysis

  • The cruise industry in the Mediterranean region increased from 2000-2018, being the second most important region after the Caribbean. The purpose of this study was to analyze the networks and hub ports of the Mediterranean. This paper used the SNA (Social Network Analysis) methodology, which includes Hub and Authority Combined Centrality (HACC) that has been used to analyze cruise port centrality, as well as degree centrality such as In-Degree, Out-Degree, and Betweenness. This empirical study suggests that the top three ports of the Mediterranean ports' network in terms of hub index are Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Palma de Mallorca. The academic implications are the suggestion for data integration based on real itineraries and numbers of POC (Port of Calls), as well as the selection of the hubs of the targeted areas. The practical implications are suggested such as a clear requirement for cruise industry, as a way to widen the scope for the Mediterranean region and a valuable reference for cruise ship companies to select the best fit home ports.

남해안 주요항만 접근해역의 위험도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Danger Degree Analysis for the Adjacent Waterway of Main Ports in the Korean Southern Area)

  • 남해안은 우리나라 전체 항만의 입항척수의 58.1%출 차지하며, 위험화물 운반선의 척수를 기준으로 할 경우 68.9%를 차지하여 통항위험에 노출되어 있다. 따가서 남해안 주요항만에 입출항하는 선박의 교통량과 흐름을 조사하여 교통환경스트레스 모델을 적용하여 해역별 위험도를 평가하고, 위험도와 해양사고 및 입출항 척수와의 관계 분석을 통해 주요항만의 문제점과 해결책을 마련할 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다.

태풍에 의한 우리나라 해안구조물의 파괴 특성 (Damage characteristics of coastal structures by the typhoon in Korea)

  • In this study we collected and analyzed cases where typhoons damaged coastal structures in Korea in the past 6 years, and hydraulic model tests were conducted in 2D flume. 2 areas where damage was concentrated were selected from ports that had suffered damage. The selected area was Kyungsang-namdo, where there are a total of 26 national ports. Damage to these two areas was organized by wind direction of the typhoons and the direction of the entrance of the port, and destruction patterns were analyzed. 2D hydraulic model tests were conducted of Deabyeun port, one of the damaged areas. Results were as follows: 1. As a result of survey, ports that had entrances that were open to winddirection of typhoon (Anti-clockwise direction) tended to be damaged mare, whereas ports that blocked by island and ports that were not open to wind direction of typhoon were not damaged. 2. As a result of the tests, there was damage that occurred when using the section of designed section, whereas there was no damage when the TTP weight was increased.

한국무역항만 총요소생산성 증가의 원동력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Source of Total Factor Productivity Growth of Trade Ports in Korea)

  • This paper selects length of berth, area of yard, unloading capacity and number of berth as the input indexes, and cargo turnover as output index to research the source of TFP(Total Factor Productivity) growth of 23 main ports in Korea. The major conclusions are as follows. The TFP of the trade ports in Korea is at the fluctuating stage, but it generally displays a rising trend, and it’s growth originate from the growth of technical efficiency. The Growth rates of TFP of trade ports in the different areas are different, and the sources of growth are also different, but the changing trends are basically the same. Four major factors to the increase of TFP are following: competition between ports, reform of property system, harbor-hinterland economic and international trade, modeling, imitation and innovation in management, technology and system.

  • 4단자 커플러 회로는 입력 단자, 격리 단자와 두 개의 출력 단자로 구성된다. 입력 단자와 격리단자에 신호가 입력하면 입력하는 신호의 세기 및 위상 특성에 의해 두 개의 출력 단자의 출력 신호의 세기와 위상이 결정된다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 4단자 커플러 회로인 브랜치라인 하이브리드 커플러와 링-하이브리드 커플러를 이용하여 두 개의 입력 단자의 입력 신호 특성에 따른 출력 신호 특성을 분석하였다. 또한, 분석한 신호를 바탕으로 브랜치라인 커플러와 링-하이브리드 커플러의 새로운 이용 방법에 대해 살펴 보았다.

부산항을 중심으로 한 동남아 항만 물동량의 최적 환적 거점 선정에 관한 연구 : 시뮬레이션 분석 방법으로 (Selection of the Optimal Transshipment Port Based on the Port Traffic of Southeast Asia)

  • Recently, the increasing trend for the transshipment traffic of Busan port in Korea is slowing down because of the extensive development plan of domestic ports in china. For solving this problem, Korea is going on the project for preoccupying the transshipment port for attraction of port traffic from the newly potential markets(NPM) based on the Northeast Asia area. As a part of the project, this paper proposes the efficient methodology for selecting the optimal shipping network and strategic transshipment port within NPM using the mathematical models and simulation analysis. For that, we firstly find the alternative transshipment ports within NPM through the status analysis of the current port traffic and shipping network and then, we choose the candidate transshipment-ports in order of minimizing the transport costs through the mathematical approach. With the scenarios based on the selected transshipment-ports, we perform the simulation analysis for choosing the optimal transshipment-ports and the shipping network minimizing the total costs and times concurrently. We expect that the results of this paper will be used efficiently when korea select the strategic transshipment-port in the future.
