다공성 촉매 분리막을 이용한 수증기 개질 반응 특성 연구 (A Study on the Reaction Characteristics of Steam Reforming Reaction over Catalyzed Porous Membrane)

  • 본 연구에서는 Ni metal foam 플레이트의 수증기 개질반응 및 표면 특성을 조사하였다. 전처리를 통하여 Ni의 산화상태를 변화시킬 수 있었으며, 활성 site로서 표면에 노출된 metallic Ni 종은 수증기 개질 반응활성에 중요한 역할을 한다. 또한 Ni metal foam 플레이트의 기공제어 및 촉매 기능을 부여하기 위하여 Ni metal foam 플레이트와 Ni-YSZ 촉매를 혼합하여 다공성 촉매 분리막을 제조하였다. SEM 분석 결과 metal foam 플레이트의 기공을 제어할 수 있었으며, 표면에 Ni-YSZ 촉매는 고르게 잘 분포되어 있었다. Ni 기반 다공성 촉매 분리막은 공간속도에 상관없이 상용촉매와 유사한 수증기 개질 활성을 가진다.

水性가스 轉換反應觸媒의 流動化에 關하여 (The Fluidization of a Water Gas Shift Conversion Catalyst)

  • The water gas shift conversion catalyst prepared by the American Cyanamide Co. was subjected to fluidization in a 2-in. Pyrex glass tube to obtain the basic fluidization characteristic data. The size of the catalyst charged ranged from 70 to 120 meshes and it was supported on a single layer 300-mesh wire gauze through which the fluidizing medium, the air, was passed. Following are some data and facts found by the authors: (1) The catalyst particles were porous, and their surfaces were trough and irregular. (2) The average effective particle density and the average shape factor of these particles were 152.2 lb/$ft^3$ and 0.865 respectively. (3) As the particle diameter of the catalyst increased, the minimum fluid voidage of the bed decreased slightly. (4) Just before the incipient fluidization, pressure drop suddenly fell and the bed expanded simultaneously. (5) After fluidization set in, the expansion characteristics of the catalyst bed were similar to those of sand and glass beads except intense bubbling in the catalyst bed.

메조페이스 핏치로부터 균질한 다공성 탄소 제조 및 이를 이용한 직접 메탄올 연료전지의 촉매 담지체 특성 (Preparation of Uniform Porous Carbon from Mesophase Pitch and Its Characteristics of Catalyst Support for the Direct Methanol Fuel Cell)

  • 직접 메탄올 연료전지에서 촉매 담지체로서 세공 크기별 균질한 다공성 탄소는 메조페이스 핏치와 졸-겔법으로 직접 합성한 구형 실리카를 이용하여 제조하였다. Tetrahydrofuran (THF)에 용해된 핏치와 메탄올에 분산된 구상의 실리카를 혼합하고 탄화한 후에 5 M NaOH로 실리카를 식각하여 다공성 탄소를 만들었다. 이 다공성탄소의 비표 면적은 사용된 구형 실리카의 입자 크기가 작을수록 증가하였으며, $14.7{\sim}87.7m^2/g$ 범위를 나타내었다. 평균 기공 직경 또한 사용된 실리카 입자크기에 따라 50~550 nm로 다양하게 나타났다. 다공성 탄소 담지체에 백금과 루테늄을 담지시키기 위해 액상환원법을 사용하였고, 60 wt% 백금-루테늄이 담지된 촉매의 전기 산화 활성 및 전극 성능 특성은 순환 전압 전류법과 단위전지 시험으로 평가하였다. 본 실험 범위 중 50 nm 실리카를 이용하여 제조한 백금-루테늄/다공성탄소의 경우(60 wt% Pt-Ru/porous carbon), 순환 전압 전류법 시험에서 0.4 V에서의 전류 밀도 값이 $123mA/cm^2$가 측정되었고, 단위전지 성능 시험에서는 최대 전력 밀도 값이 $60^{\circ}C$$80^{\circ}C$, 산소분위기에서 각각 105, $162mW/cm^2$를 나타내었다.

저온형 연료전지용 산소의 고활성 환원 촉매 제조 (Preperation of catalyst having high activity on oxygen reduction)

  • This paper dealt with the manufacturing of binary alloy catalyst and showed simple electrochemical method for determing catalytic activity of oxygen reduction in acid or alkaline electrolyte. The catalyst was prepared by impregnating transition metal salts on platinum or silver particles adsorbed before on carbon paper substrate. The electrochemical characteristics of the catalysts was investigated with carbon paper electrode or PTFE-boned porous electrode and then cathodic current densities and tafel slopes were compared. As a result, of all binary catalysts utilized in this work, Pt-Fe, Pt-Mo showed better oxygen reduction activity than pure platinum catalyst in acid electrolyte and Ag-Fe, Ag-Pt, and Ag-Ni-Bi-Ti catalyst did than pure silver catalyst in alkaline electrolyte. The current density of Pt-Fe electrode in acid electrolyte was one and half times higher than that of Pt electrode(~500mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 0.7VvsNHE).

An atomistic model for hierarchical nanostructured porous carbons in molecular dynamics simulations

  • Porous materials play a significant role in energy storage and conversion applications such as catalyst support for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell. In particular, hierarchical porous materials with both micropores (poresize, ${\delta}$ < 2 nm) and regularly arranged mesopores (2 nm < ${\delta}$ < 50 nm) are known to greatly enhance the efficiency of catalytic reactions by providing enormous surface area as well as fast mass transport channels for both reactants and products from/to active sites. Although it is generally agreed that the microscopic structure of the porous materials directly affects the performance of these catalytic reactions, neither detailed mechanisms nor fundamental understanding are available at hand. In this study, we propose an atomistic model of hierarchical nanostructured porous carbons (HNPCs) in molecular dynamics simulations. By performing a systematic study, we found that structural features of the HNPC can be independently altered by tuning specific synthesis parameters, while remaining other structures unchanged. In addition, we show some structure-property relations including mechanical and gas transport properties.

  • High porous AlO(OH) gel is used in precursor of ceramic material, coating material and porous catalyst. For use of these, not only physiochemical control for particle morphology, pore characteristic and peptization but also studies of synthetic method for preparation of high porous AlO(OH) gel were required. In this study, high porous AlO(OH) gel was prepared through the aging and filtration process of aluminum hydroxides gel precipitated by the hydrolysis reaction of $Na_2CO_3$ solution and $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ and $Na_2SO_4$ mixed solution. In this process, optimum synthetic condition of AlO(OH) gel having excellent pore volume as studying the effect of hydrolysis pH on gel precipitates has been studied. Hydrolysis pH brought about numerous changes on crystal morphology, surface area, pore volume and pore size. Physiochemical properties of gel were investigated as using XRD, TEM, TG/DTA, FT-IR and $N_2$ BET method.

  • 이리듐 촉매의 국산화 개발과정에서 고온/고압으로 인한 촉매파손, 유실, 소결현상 등이 관찰되었고, 이렇게 손상된 촉매대로 인하여 추력기의 성능이 저하된다고 보고되었다. 이에 본 논문의 연구에서는 촉매대를 1차원 다공질성 매질로 가정, 모델링하여 수치해석코드를 개발하였다. 개발된 수치해석코드는 실험데이터와 비교하여 검증하였으며, 촉매유실에 의해 변하게 되는 촉매대의 공극률을 변화시켜 다양한 경우의 촉매유실을 가정하여 해석을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 촉매유실이 하이드라진과 암모니아의 분해반응에 끼치는 영향을 연구하였다.

  • In this paper, a preconverter of MCFC for an emergence electric power supplier is numerically simulated to increase the hydrogen production from natural gas (methane). Commercial code is used to simulated the porous catalyst with user subroutine to model three dominant chemical reactions which are Stream Reforming(SR), Water-Gas Shift(WGS), and Direct Stram Reforming(DSR). To get 10% fuel conversion rate in preconverter. the required external heat flux is supplied from outer wall of preconverter. The calculated results show that very nonuniform temperature distribution and chemical reaction happen near the wall of preconverter. These phenomena can be explained by the low heat conductivity of porous catalyst and the endothermic reforming reaction.

Urea-SCR 시스템에서의 Cu-ZSM5/알루미나 비드 촉매필터의 De-NOx 특성 (De-NOx Characteristics for Cu-ZSM5/Alumina Beads Catalyst Filter in Urea-SCR System)

  • The catalytic filter of Cu-ZSM5/alumina beads was considered to reduce NOx in the urea SCR system. Catalytic support of porous alumina beads with mean pore size $130{\mu}m$ and porosity $75{\sim}83%$ were prepared using foaming and gel-casting method. The Cu-ZSM5 catalysts were coated on the supporting alumina beads using $Cu(NO_3)_2$ by ion exchange method. After a washcoating process was applied to coat 10w% Cu-ZSM5 on porous alumina bead, coating layer was estimated $20{\mu}m$ in thickness. The characterization and the feasibility as a catalytic supports were investigated. And the NOx conversion test in Cu-ZSM5/Alumina Beads filter system was conducted by using Urea as reductants under laboratory test. The NOx conversion was increased as size and porosity of beads and observed more than 95% excellent NOx conversion above $300^{\circ}C$.
