고온고습 시험을 통한 태양전지의 장기 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Long-term Reliability of Solar Cell by High Temperature & Humidity Test)

  • 본 연구는 고온고습 시험을 통하여 Cell 레벨에서의 표면관찰 및 효율저하를 분석하였다. 고온고습 시험조건은 KS C IEC-61215에서 제시한 PV 모듈하의 조건을 이용하여 온도 $85^{\circ}C$, 습도 85%, 1000hr 동안 수행하였다. EL(Electroluminescence)촬영을 통하여 Cell 표면의 이상 유 무를 분석한 결과, 시간이 경과함에 따라, 부분적으로 표면이 손상되어 변색되는 것을 확인하였다. 고온고습 시험 전 단결정 Cell 및 다결정 Cell의 효율은 각각 17.7%, 15.5%였으며, 1000hr 수행 후 15.6%, 14.0%로 각각 11.9%와 9.3%의 감소율을 보였다. 또한, 경년 시 나타나는 전기적 특성을 분석하기 위하여 FF(Fill Factor)값을 분석한 결과, 고온고습 시험 후 단결정 Cell은 78.7%에서 75.0%로 4.7%, 다결정 Cell은 78.1%에서 76.7%로 1.8%의 감소율을 보였다. 태양전지 실리콘의 원자배열 및 순도에 따라 효율 변화에 영향을 받아 단결정 Cell이 다결정 Cell보다 효율저하가 크게 나타났다고 판단된다. 또한, FF감소율보다 효율 감소율이 크게 저하된 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 Cell의 외부환경적 요인에 의한 표면 손상이 p-n접합층 접촉저항과 경년 시 나타나는 FF 감소율보다 크게 영향을 준 것으로 판단된다.

Synthesis of Chiral Poly(norbornene carboxylic acid ester)s and Their Characteristic Properties in The Thin Film

  • We synthesized two novel polynorbornene derivatives, chiral poly(norbornene acid methyl ester) (C-PNME) and racemic poly(norbornene acid n-butyl ester) (R-PNME), which are potential low dielectric constant materials for applications in advanced microelectronic and display devices. Thin films of these polymers deposited on substrates were investigated by structural analyses using synchrotron grazing incidence X-ray scattering, specular reflectivity and ellipsometry. These analyses provided important information on the structure, electron density gradient across film thickness, chain orientation, refractive index and thermal expansion of the polymers in substrate-supported thin films. The structural characteristics and properties of the thin films were first dependent on the polymer chain' tacticity and further influenced by film thickness and thermal annealing.

Discarded Egg Yolk as an Alternate Source of Poly(3-Hydroxybutyrate-co-3-Hydroxyhexanoate)

  • Many poultry eggs are discarded worldwide because of infection (i.e., avian flu) or presence of high levels of pesticides. The possibility of adopting egg yolk as a source material to produce polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) biopolymer was examined in this study. Cupriavidus necator Re2133/pCB81 was used for the production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) or poly(3HHx), a polymer that would normally require long-chain fatty acids as carbon feedstocks for the incorporation of 3HHx monomers. The optimal medium contained 5% egg yolk oil and ammonium nitrate as a nitrogen source, with a carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio of 20. Time course monitoring using the optimized medium was conducted for 5 days. Biomass production was 13.1 g/l, with 43.7% co-polymer content. Comparison with other studies using plant oils and the current study using egg yolk oil revealed similar polymer yields. Thus, discarded egg yolks could be a potential source of PHA.

폴리 실리콘을 이용한 금속-반도체-금속 광 검출기의 열처리에 따른 전기적 특성 (Post Annealing Effects on the Electrical Properties of Polysilicon Metal-Semiconductor-Metal Photodetectors)

  • This study investigated the effects of the post annealing temperatures on the electrical and interfacial properties of a metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector(MSM-PD) device. The interdigitate type MSM-PD devices had the structure Al(500 nm) / Ti(200 nm) / poly-Si(500 nm). Structural analyses of the MSM-PD devices were performed by employing X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). Electrical characteristics of the MSM-PD were also examined using current-voltage(I-V) measurements. The optimal post annealing condition for the Schottky contact of MSM-PD devices are $350^{\circ}C$-30minutes. However, as the annealing temperature and time are increased, electrical characteristics of MSM-PD device are degraded. Especially, for the annealing conditions of $400^{\circ}C$-180minutes and $500^{\circ}C$-30minutes, the I-V measurement itself was impossible. These results are closely related to the solid phase reactions at the interface of MSM-PD device, which result in the formation of intermetallic compounds such as $Al_3Ti$ and $Ti_7Al_5Si_{12}$.

HPLC용 Schiff Base 컬럼과 Glow Discharge 검출기의 개발에 관한 기초연구 I (Development of Schiff Base Column and Glow Discharge Detector for HPLC : Preliminary Study I)

  • 본 연구는 중금속 이온의 신속한 현장분석을 위하여 HPLC용 Schiff Base 컬럼과 Glow Discharge 검출기의 개발에 관한 연구결과를 정리한 것이다. 현재 사용한 컬럼의 소재로는 hydrazide Schiff base 리간드인 N, N'-oxalybis(salicylaldehydrazone) (OBSH), N, N'-malonylbis (salicylaldehydrazone) (MBSH), 그리고 N, N'-succinylbis(salicylaldehydrazone) (SBSH)들과 HPLC 컬럼용 고분자 수지인 poly(styrene divinylbenzene)를 혼합하여 그 특성을 관찰하고 앞으로의 HPLC용 컬럼으로서의 응용성을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 중금속 이온들의 효과적인 검출을 수행할 수 있는 검출기의 필요성에 따라 현재 본 연구실에서 새로 개발한 Hollow Cathode Glow Discharge-Atomic Emission Spectrometry(HCGD-AES)를 사용하여 금속이온의 검출을 수행하였다. 이때 리간드-수지 혼합 컬럼을 통하여 용리된 용리액 중의 구리, 루비듐, 납, 수은 등의 금속이온 검출을 시도하였고, 실험결과를 토대로 Schiff Base를 사용한 컬럼이 금속이온에 따라 선택성을 보여 주고 있음을 살필 수 있었다. 또한 금속이온의 검출을 위한 HPLC용 검출기의 개발을 글로우 방전을 이용하여 추진하고 있으며 이에 대한 기초실험 결과를 정리하였다.

Immunotoxicological Effects of Aripiprazole: In vivo and In vitro Studies

  • Aripiprazole (ARI) is a commonly prescribed medication used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. To date, there have been no studies regarding the molecular pathological and immunotoxicological profiling of aripiprazole. Thus, in the present study, we prepared two different formulas of aripiprazole [Free base crystal of aripiprazole (ARPGCB) and cocrystal of aripiprazole (GCB3004)], and explored their effects on the patterns of survival and apoptosis-regulatory proteins under acute toxicity and cytotoxicity test conditions. Furthermore, we also evaluated the modulatory activity of the different formulations on the immunological responses in macrophages primed by various stimulators such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS), pam3CSK, and poly(I:C) via toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), TLR2, and TLR3 pathways, respectively. In liver, both ARPGCB and GCB3004 produced similar toxicity profiles. In particular, these two formulas exhibited similar phospho-protein profiling of p65/nuclear factor $(NF)-{\kappa}B$, c-Jun/activator protein (AP)-1, ERK, JNK, p38, caspase 3, and bcl-2 in brain. In contrast, the patterns of these phospho-proteins were variable in other tissues. Moreover, these two formulas did not exhibit any cytotoxicity in C6 glioma cells. Finally, the two formulations at available in vivo concentrations did not block nitric oxide (NO) production from activated macrophage-like RAW264.7 cells stimulated with LPS, pam3CSK, or poly(I:C), nor did they alter the morphological changes of the activated macrophages. Taken together, our present work, as a comparative study of two different formulas of aripiprazole, suggests that these two formulas can be used to achieve similar functional activation of brain proteins related to cell survival and apoptosis and immunotoxicological activities of macrophages.

미세아교세포에서 GPR56 발현에 의한 이상 행동 (Abnormal Behavior Controlled via GPR56 Expression in Microglia)

  • 임신 중 감염에 의한 산모의 면역 활성화는 조현병과 자폐 스펙트럼 장애를 포함한 신경 발달 질환의 위험을 증가시킨다. 여러 연구에서 poly (I:C) 또는 LPS를 사용하여 모체 면역 활성화 유도한 자손에서 비정상적인 행동과 뇌 발달을 관찰하였다. 또한 최근 뇌에 상주하며 면역 세포로 기능하는 미세아교세포가 MIA 유발 자손의 행동 이상과 뇌 발달에 중요한 역할을 한다는 것이 보고되고 있으나 아직 메커니즘은 명확하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 GPCR의 구성원인 GPR56의 미세아교세포 특이적 억제가 행동 이상과 뇌 발달을 유발하는지 여부를 조사하였다. 먼저, MIA 유도는 발달 중인 뇌의 미세아교세포 집단에 영향을 미치지 않으나, 미세아교세포를 분리하여 GRP56의 발현을 조사한 결과, MIA 유도 태아에서 성별에 관계 없이 E14.5와 E18.5 사이에서 GPR56 발현이 억제됨을 관찰하였다. 그리고 미세아교세포 특이적 GPR56 억제는 MIA 유도 자손에게서 나타나는 사교성 결손, 반복적인 행동 패턴 및 증가된 불안 수준과 같은 비정상적인 행동을 관찰하였다. 미세아교세포 GPR56 억제 마우스에서는 MIA 유도 자손과 같은 비정상적인 피질 발달이 관찰되지 않았지만, c-fos 염색을 통해 뇌 활동이 관찰되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 미세아교세포 특이적 GPR56 결핍이 이상 행동을 유발함을 시사하며, 추후 연구를 통해 MIA 자손의 행동 결손 진단 및/ 치료 표적을 위한 바이오마커로 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

의치 구내염 환자에서 분리한 Candida albicans의 아크릴 수지에 대한 부착성과 타액 단백질과의 상호 관계 (ADHESION OF CANDIDA ALBICANS ISOLATES TO ACRYLIC RESIN IN RELATION TO SALIVARY GLYCOPROTEINS IN DENTURE STOMATITIS PATIENTS)

  • Adherence of Candida albicans(C. albicans) to the surface of a denture is believed to be an initial and essential step in the formation of denture-induced stematitis. Previous studies have provided enormous infomation on the relationship between composition of palatine gland/parotid saliva and upper denture stomatitis. Relatively little information is available on the correlation between lower denture stomatitis and sublingual-submandibular ( SLSM ) saliva. The plaque samples were collected from the two sites($100mm^2$) on the inner surface of lower partial denture corresponding to the stematitis and healthy region of the lower partial dentures of 12 denture stomatitis patients and 6 nor-mal persons who wore lower partial dentures. The samples were plated to isolate C. albicans on a selective Saboraud's dextrose agar plate and the isolates were identified by germ tube test and gram staining. The subjects were divided into group I (stomatitis with C. albican), group II (lesion without C. albicans), group III (no lesion but C. albicans), and group IV (normal and healthy denture wearer). Individual SLSM saliva($20{\mu}g$ of protein) was analyzed by SDS-PAGE (SDS -poly-acrylamide gel electrophoresis) with Coomassie brilliant blue and PAS(Periodic Acid Schinff) stain-ing. The salivary proteins separated in the polyacryamide gels were subjected to immunoblot anaysis using anti-lactoferrin, anti-sIgA, and anti-secretory component of sIgA. In this study using custom made acrylic denture resin beads(5mm in diameter) coated with stimulated individual SLSM saliva, the binding ability of individual C. albicans strains to the beads was observed. Levels of C, albicans adhered to the acrylic resin beads were determined by measuring the optical density of the bound C. albicans to the beads at 580nm. The results showed that a higher number of C. albicans was observed in the lesion site than healthy site. The saliva of group I contained more high molecular weight glycoprotein(mucin, MGI) as compared to group II, III and IV. And lactoferrin and sIgA affected to the binding ability of C. albicans to acylic resin beads. Binding ability of individual C. albicans to the acrylic resin coated with respective individual saliva was found to be greater in group I than the other 3 groups. And when bound cells of C. albicans isolated from individual subject #2 to the saliva coated beads were used binding ability of subject #2 saliva coated beads was founed to be greater than the other sutjects. These results suggested that denture induced stomatitis is related to individual patient's salivary protein composition, especially MG-1. Future studies will be directed toward saliva exam-ination of patients who have general disease and analysis of pellicles formed on prosthesis with respect to oral disease.

Characteristic Analysis of Poly(4-Vinyl Phenol) Based Organic Memory Device Using CdSe/ZnS Core/Shell Qunatum Dots

  • In this study, we made a organic thin film device in MIS(Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) structure by using PVP (Poly vinyl phenol) as a insulating layer, and CdSe/ZnS nano particles which have a core/shell structure inside. We dissolved PVP and PMF in PGMEA, organic solvent, then formed a thin film through a spin coating. After that, it was cross-linked by annealing for 1 hour in a vacuum oven at $185^{\circ}C$. We operated FTIR measurement to check this, and discovered the amount of absorption reduced in the wave-length region near 3400 cm-1, so could observe decrease of -OH. Boonton7200 was used to measure a C-V relationship to confirm a properties of the nano particles, and as a result, the width of the memory window increased when device including nano particles. Additionally, we used HP4145B in order to make sure the electrical characteristics of the organic thin film device and analyzed a conduction mechanism of the device by measuring I-V relationship. When the voltage was low, FNT occurred chiefly, but as the voltage increased, Schottky Emission occurred mainly. We synthesized CdSe/ZnS and to confirm this, took a picture of Si substrate including nano particles with SEM. Spherical quantum dots were properly made. Due to this study, we realized there is high possibility of application of next generation memory device using organic thin film device and nano particles, and we expect more researches about this issue would be done.

Flexibility Improvement of InGaZnO Thin Film Transistors Using Organic/inorganic Hybrid Gate Dielectrics

  • Recently, oxide semi-conductor materials have been investigated as promising candidates replacing a-Si:H and poly-Si semiconductor because they have some advantages of a room-temperature process, low-cost, high performance and various applications in flexible and transparent electronics. Particularly, amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide (a-IGZO) is an interesting semiconductor material for use in flexible thin film transistor (TFT) fabrication due to the high carrier mobility and low deposition temperatures. In this work, we demonstrated improvement of flexibility in IGZO TFTs, which were fabricated on polyimide (PI) substrate. At first, a thin poly-4vinyl phenol (PVP) layer was spin coated on PI substrate for making a smooth surface up to 0.3 nm, which was required to form high quality active layer. Then, Ni gate electrode of 100 nm was deposited on the bare PVP layer by e-beam evaporator using a shadow mask. The PVP and $Al_2O_3$ layers with different thicknesses were used for organic/inorganic multi gate dielectric, which were formed by spin coater and atomic layer deposition (ALD), respectively, at $200^{\circ}C$. 70 nm IGZO semiconductor layer and 70 nm Al source/drain electrodes were respectively deposited by RF magnetron sputter and thermal evaporator using shadow masks. Then, IGZO layer was annealed on a hotplate at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Standard electrical characteristics of transistors were measured by a semiconductor parameter analyzer at room temperature in the dark and performance of devices then was also evaluated under static and dynamic mechanical deformation. The IGZO TFTs incorporating hybrid gate dielectrics showed a high flexibility compared to the device with single structural gate dielectrics. The effects of mechanical deformation on the TFT characteristics will be discussed in detail.
