In order to deduce an objective evaluation method of motion seasickness incidence (MSI) by ship motions during underway in irregular waves and to present the fundamental data of passenger comfort on the yacht and the passenger ship according to the result, the MSI of the trainees by the questionnaires was analysed and compared with the rate of variation of salivary ${\alpha}$-amylase activity (VSAA) on the training ship "A-ra ho" of Jeju national university. Relationship between rate of variation (x) by salivary ${\alpha}$-amylase activity and motion seasickness incidence (y) was described by the equation, MSI(%) = 0.6073 x + 12.189 including the correlation coefficient ($R^2=0.9853$). The result obtained through the rate of variation of salivary ${\alpha}$-amylase activity which was the quantitative evaluation method for ship motions causing seasickness was most affected by z-vertical acceleration and occurred within the frequency range 0.1 to 0.3Hz centered on 0.2Hz, and the simulation result based on this finding showed the motion seasickness rate at approximately 4% lower than the rate obtained through the survey.

With awareness on such HUMINT issues, this study conducted survey on in-service police officers and examined the actual state of HUMINT. Based on the survey result, this study suggested Intelligence-Led Policing as the effective application method.
Purpose: To analyze the risk factors and the treatment results of the distal chevron osteotomy for the hallux valgus in young adult. Materials and Methods: Eleven cases of hallux valgus in 9 patients who underwent the distal chevron osteotomy between February 2000 and January 2004 were included for the study. For the clinical evaluation, we used hallux-metatarsophalangeal interphalangeal scale of American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS). For radiological evaluation, we measured hallux valgus angle (HVA) and intermetatarsal angle (IMA). Results: Five patients had family history of hallux valgus. Symptoms were aggravated by military drill and sports activity. The average AOFAS scale was 62.5 preoperatively, and 88.4 at final follow-up. The HVA and IMA were $34.9^{\circ}$, and $15.8^{\circ}$ preoperatively, $16.3^{\circ}$ and $8.2^{\circ}$ at postoperative 6 weeks, and $19.9^{\circ}$ and $9.8^{\circ}$ at final follow-up. Conclusion: The symptoms of hallux valgus in young adults were aggravated by military drill and sports activity. Distal chevron osteotomy was useful for the treatment of the moderate to severe hallux valgus in young patients.
In modern society, a spontaneous phenomenon that community residents' participation in crime prevention sphere is increasing now due to the recognition that it is extremely difficult to control crime only by the limited official power(police) is spreading in the society. In the consideration of crime occurrence, the fear of crime does not belong to a certain person any more, but it turns to a matter of common interest for all people. For a long period of time, thanks to the community residents' participation in crime prevention, it has been possible to sustain safety and stability of local community. Ultimately not only the police could reduce the crime problems but local community could decrease a fear of crime. In this study, for maximized effect of crime prevention, it is focused on the role of the community residents' participation in crime prevention. Objectives: Police officers may be at a greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) than the general population due to their highstress occupation. This study evaluated how an educational program based on the health belief model (HBM) may protect police officers from developing CVD. Methods: In this single-group experimental study, 58 police officers in Iran participated in a 5-week intervention based on HBM principles. Outcomes included changes in scores on an HBM scale, time spent on moderate to vigorous physical activity (International Physical Activity Questionnaire), body mass index (BMI), blood lipid profile, blood glucose, and blood pressure. The intervention consisted of 5 HBM-based educational sessions. Follow-up was conducted at 3 months post-intervention. The paired t-test was used to examine differences between baseline and follow-up scores. Results: All aspects of the HBM scale improved between baseline and follow-up (p<0.05), except the cues to action subscale. Self-efficacy and preventive behaviors improved the most. BMI decreased from 26.7±2.9 kg/㎡ at baseline to 25.8±2.4 kg/㎡ at follow-up. All components of the lipid profile, including triglycerides, cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein, showed significant improvements post-intervention. Blood glucose and blood pressure also decreased, but not significantly. Nearly 25% of participants who were not physically active at baseline increased their physical activity above or beyond the healthy threshold. Conclusions: A relatively brief educational intervention based on HBM principles led to a significant improvement in CVD risk factors among police officers. Further research is needed to corroborate the effectiveness of this intervention.
