  • In this paper, there is summarized the validation of ground test results through the telemetry acquired during on-orbit initial activation on solar-array drive assembly(SDA) of GK2A launched at Dec-5, 2018. Especially, the decision logic of SDA initial position and the compensation logic are validated and confirmed. The SDA initial position is needed when GK2A enter to geostationary orbit from transfer orbit and the compensation logic is for the accumulated position error due to the open-loop control. Up to now, it is normal operating. Also the periodic offset between the geostationary orbit and Sun position is found that it is not checked on design phase, and then the proper threshold value is applied.

  • The interferometric fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) are well known as sensors of rotation, which are based on Sagnac effect, and have been under development for a number of years to meet a wide range of performance requirements. This paper describes the development of open-loop FOG and digital signal processing techniques implemented on FPGA. Our primary goal was to obtain intermediate accuracy (pointing grade) with a good bias stability (0.22deg) and scale factor stability, extremely low angle random walk (0.07deg) and significant cost savings by using a single mode fiber. A secondary goal is to design all digital FOG signal processing algorithms with which the SNR at the digital demodulator output is enhanced substantially due to processing gain. The Cascaded integrator bomb(CIC) type of decimation filter only requires adders and shift registers, low cost processors which has low computing power still can used in this all digital FOG processor.

  • When operating a surveillance system in the maritime environment, its stabilization performance is degraded due to undesirable disturbance motions. For accurate target pointing of a 2-axes surveillance system on shipboard, the kinematic stabilization is first applied, which compensates a deviated motion via coordinate transformations of attitude information. Resultantly, the stabilization error is no longer reduced due to less accuracy of a MEMS sensor and kinematic constraint, leading to introduction of the image stabilization as a complementary function. And for real-time execution of the present dual stabilization scheme, a HILS (Hardware In the Loop Simulation) test bed including 6-dof motion simulator has been constructed, and through the obtained HILS data, it has been confirmed that the stabilization is successfully.

  • This paper shows the desist concept of an ATS(Antenna Tracking Software) to control the movement of the MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) antenna. The MSC has a two-axes directional X-band antenna for image transmission to KGS(KOMSAT2 Ground Station). The main objective of the ATS is to drive the APM(Antenna Pointing Mechanism) to the required elevation and the azimuth position according to an appropriate TPF(Tracking Parameter File). The ATS is implemented as one task of the SBC(Single Board Computer) software, which uses VxWorks as a real time OS. The ATS has several operational modes such as STANDBY mode, First EL mode, First AZ mode, Normal Operation mode, and so on. The ATS uses two PI controllers fur the velocity and the position loop respectively, to satisfy the requirements specification. In order to show the feasibility of the described design concept, the various simulations and the experiments are performed under specific test configuration.

  • We developed a remote control system for the 16" reflecting telescope at KNUO (Kongiu National University Observatory). This system is a close loop system. The electronic control part used TCS-196 of the Korea Astronomy Observatory, the mechanical part was developed directly in this research. The pointing accuracy of this system was ${\pm}$50" in the hour angle direction, ${\pm}$40" in the declination direction after mount modeling. The tracking accuracy was about 1"/min. This pilot test result means that this system is suitable for research or education of astronomical fields.
