Characterization of the dynamic behavior of a linear guideway mechanism

  • Dynamic behaviors of the contact surface between ball and raceway in a guideway mechanism vary with the applied loads and hence affect the mechanical responses of machine tools. The study aims to investigate the nonlinear characteristics of dynamic behaviors at the rolling contact interface in linear guideway mechanisms. Firstly, analytical method was introduced to understand the contact behaviors based on Hertz contact theory in a point-to-point way. Then, the finite element approach with a three-dimensional surface-to-surface contact model and appropriate contact stiffness was developed to study the dynamic characteristics of such linear guideways. Finally, experiments with modal test were conducted to verify the significance of both the analytical and the numerical results. Results told that the finite element approach may provide significant predictions. The study results also concluded that the current nonlinear models based on Hertz's contact theory may accurately describe the contact characteristic of a linear guideway mechanism. In the modal analysis, it was told that the natural frequencies vary a little with different loading conditions; however, the mode shapes are changed obviously with the magnitude of applied loads. Therefore, the stiffness of contact interface needs to be properly adjusted during simulation which may affect the dynamic characteristics of the machine tools.

볏짚 피복에 의한 밭 비점오염원 유출저감효과 분석을 위한 HSPF와 SWAT 모델링 (HSPF and SWAT Modelling for Identifying Runoff Reduction Effect of Nonpoint Source Pollution by Rice Straw Mulching on Upland Crops)

  • This study is to assess the reduction of non-point source pollution loads for rice straw mulching of upland crop cultivation at a watershed scale. For Byulmi-cheon watershed (1.21 $km^2$) located in the upstream of Gyeongan-cheon, the HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) and SWAT (Soil and Water Assesment Tool), physically based distributed hydrological models were applied. Before evaluation, the model was calibrated and validated using 9 rainfall events. The Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency (NSE) for streamflow using the HSPF was 0.62~0.76 and the determination coefficient ($R^2$) for water quality (sediment, total nitrogen T-N, and total phosphorus T-P) were 0.72, 0.62, and 0.63 respectively. The NSE for streamflow using the SWAT were 0.43~0.81 and the $R^2$ for water quality (sediment, T-N, and T-P) were 0.54, 0.87, and 0.64 respectively. From the field experiment of 16 rainfall events, the rice straw cover condition reduced surface runoff average 10.0 % compared to normal surface condition. By handling infiltration capacity (INFILT) in HSPF model, the value of 16.0 mm/hr was found to reduce about 10.0 % reduction of surface runoff. For this condition, the reduction effect of sediment, T-N, and T-P loads were 87.2, 28.5, and 85.1 % respectively. By handling soil hydraulic conductivity (SOL_K) in SWAT model, the value of 111.2 mm/hr was found to reduce about 10.0 point reduction of surface runoff. For this condition, the reduction effect of sediment, T-N, and T-P loads were 80.0, 83.2, and 78.7 % respectively. The rice straw surface covering was effective for removing surface runoff dependent loads such as sediment and T-P.

곡면 모델링 커널 개발 (Development of a Surface Modeling Kernel)

  • Developed in this research is a surface modeling kernel for various CAD/CAM applications. Its internal surface representations are rational parametric polynomials, which are generalizations of nonrational Bezier, Ferguson, Coons and NURBS surface, and are very fast in evaluation. The kernel is designed under the OOP concepts and coded in C++ on PCs. The present implementation of the kernel supports surface construction methods, such as point data interpolation, skinning, sweeping and blending. It also has NURBS conversion routines and offers the IGES and ZES format for geometric information exchange. It includes some geometric processing routines, such as surface/surface intersection, curve/surface intersection, curve projection and so forth. We are continuing to work with the kernel and eventually develop a B-Rep based solid modeler.

선박 블록 정합을 위한 포인트 클라우드 기반의 오차예측 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on Matching Method of Hull Blocks Based on Point Clouds for Error Prediction)

  • 선박 건조 시장의 요구를 맞추기 위하여 신속한 건조의 목표로 노력하고 있는 조선소가 선박 정도관리에 대한 요구가 갈수록 높아지고 있다. 선박 건조 공정에서 생산성의 향상과 생산 주기의 단축을 위하여 선박 부재의 정도평가를 전 주기에서 수행해야 하는 것은 중요하다. 선박의 품질을 높이기 위하여 조선소에서 블록의 정도제어를 수행하는 것은 선박의 건조 주기를 단축할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 건조 비용도 줄일 수 있다. 선박 블록의 정도를 제어하는 중심은 선박 블록 통합 정도관리 시스템을 만들어야 한다. 이 시스템은 "Non-allowance Shipbuilding"의 목표로 정도관리의 총괄성, 블록 정도의 향상, 정도 관리 과정의 표준화 등이 이루어져야 한다. 일반적으로 정도관리를 수행하는 관리자가 광파측정기를 이용하여 선박 블록의 접합면에 있는 주요 포인트(vital point)를 측정하고 수집하지만 무거운 계측장비를 가지고 블록의 정도관리를 수행하는 것은 불편할 뿐만 아니라 시간도 오래 걸린다. 본 논문에서는 선박 블록의 정도관리 시간을 단축할 수 있는 포인트 클라우드 기반으로 3차원 레이저 스캐너를 이용한 선박 블록 탑재 전에 오차예측 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 ICP(iterative closest point) 알고리즘으로 측정된 포인트 클라우드와 설계된 점들의 비교 작업을 수행한 다음에 허용범위 내의 오차를 만족하는 지를 판단한다.

Prediction model of surface subsidence for salt rock storage based on logistic function

  • To predict the surface subsidence of salt rock storage, a new surface subsidence basin model is proposed based on the Logistic function from the phenomenological perspective. Analysis shows that the subsidence curve on the main section of the model is S-shaped, similar to that of the actual surface subsidence basin; the control parameter of the subsidence curve shape can be changed to allow for flexible adjustment of the curve shape. By using this model in combination with the MMF time function that reflects the single point subsidence-time relationship of the surface, a new dynamic prediction model of full section surface subsidence for salt rock storage is established, and the numerical simulation calculation results are used to verify the availability of the new model. The prediction results agree well with the numerical simulation results, and the model reflects the continued development of surface subsidence basin over time, which is expected to provide some insight into the prediction and visualization research on surface subsidence of salt rock storage.

  • Algorithms on modification of NURBS surface requires modeling history to change its boundary conditions. The history is stored when the surface is modeled and saved in the corresponding model file. But when the model is transferred to other systems the history generally cannot be recognized. So modification algorithms without history is highly required. Previous works on the field is concentrated in the point based modification without any restriction condition. Therefore this study is intended to develope a curved based modification algorithm with restriction conditions. A rapid modification algorithm is suggested, implemented and tested.

  • This paper deals with the ESM(equivalent source method) with the continuation of acoustic near-field for NAH(near-field acoustic holography) to overcome the finite measurement aperture effect and reconstruct the normal velocity on an arbitrarily shaped structure surface. The continuation method is an extension of the measured sound field into a region outside and is based on the Green's function relating acoustic quantities on the two conformal surfaces. This algorithm is not limited to planar surfaces and can be applied to arbitrarily shaped surfaces. The ESM is an alternative approach of BEM-based NAH for the reconstruction on a general structure. In ESM the acoustic field is represented by a set of point sources located over a surface that is close to the structure surface. The simulation results of this study shows that the reconstruction error of particle velocity on the source surface is 11% and 16% for planar and cylindrical sources separately.

  • This paper presents a robot trajectory generation method based on the dual curvature theory of ruled surfaces. Robot trajectory can be represented as a ruled surface generated by the TCP(Tool Center Point) and my unit vector among the tool frame. Dual curvature theory of ruled surfaces provides the robot control algorithm with the motion property parameters. With the differential properties of the ruled surface, the linear and angular motion properties of the robot end effector can be utilized in the robot trajectory planning.

  • Laser scanning is a new technology for obtaining Digital Surface Models(DSM) of the earth surface.It is a fast method for sampling the earth surface with high density and high point accuracy. This paper is for buildings extraction from LiDAR points data. The core part of building construction is based on a parameters filter for distinguishing between terrain and non-terrain laser points. The 3D geometrical properties of the building facades are obtained based on plane fitting using least-squares adjustment. The reconstruction part of the procedure is based on the adjacency among the roof facades. Primitive extraction and facade intersections are used for building reconstruction. For overcome the difficulty just reconstruct of laser points data used with digital camera images. Also, 3D buildings of city area reconstructed using digital map. Finally, In this paper show 3D building Modeling using digital map and LiDAR data.

  • 지표면에 대한 정보를 취득하는 기법 중 지금까지 주로 사용되어온 기법은 항공사진 및 위성영상과 같이 평면적인 정보 수집에 중점을 두고 있는 반면, 본 논문에서 다루는 LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging)는 레이저 측량기술을 이용하여 지표면에 대한 고해상도의 비정규분포 Point 형태의 3차원 정보의 획득이 가능하다. GPS(Global Positioning System) 수신기와 INS(Inertial Navigation System)의 결합을 통해 좌표 값을 제공하게 된다. 이러한 LiDAR의 3차원 Point 정보와 좌표 값을 활용하여 보다 정밀한 3차원 모델링 수행이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 LiDAR의 반사강도와 기하/지형 자료를 이용하여 도시지역을 대상으로 정밀한 3차원 공간정보자료를 취득하고, 그 자료를 분석하여 도시지역을 높이와 밀도를 기반으로 하여 3차원으로 분류하였다. LiDAR를 통해 획득된 원시자료로부터 지표면에서 반사되는 Point Data의 개수를 지면과 비지면 요소의 비율로 추정하여 지형과 공간적 특성을 파악하고 이에 따라 3차원 토지피복분류도를 작성하였다. 신호의 강약을 구분하는 기준은 통계적 방법(Jenk's Natural Break)을 통해 추정된 값을 사용하였으며, 지표면 반사비율에 따라 세부지역으로 구분하여 크게 고밀도 저밀도 식생지역과 비식생지역으로 구분하였다.
