  • The Pohang Neutron Facility based on an electron linac was constructed in order to construct the infrastructure for nuclear data production in Korea. It consists of a 100-MeV electron linac, a water-cooled Ta target, and an 11-m time-of-flight path. We measured the time-of-flight path length, the neutron energy spectra for different water levels inside the moderator, and the neutron total cross sections of polyethylene and copper by the transmission method.

  • Pre-clinical models are critical in gaining mechanistic and biological insights into disease progression. Recently, patient-derived organoid models have been developed to facilitate our understanding of disease development and to improve the discovery of therapeutic options by faithfully recapitulating in vivo tissues or organs. As technological developments of organoid models are rapidly growing, computational methods are gaining attention in organoid researchers to improve the ability to systematically analyze experimental results. In this review, we summarize the recent advances in organoid models to recapitulate human diseases and computational advancements to analyze experimental results from organoids.

  • We designed and constructed an extremly high power s-band traveling wave resonator for the test of high power microwave components using 80MW pulsed klystron with $4{\mu}s$ pulse width. The 10dB directional coupler for the input power coupling was used, and the ring consists of phase shifter, tuner, H-band, and other microwave components. The designed total electrical length of the system is 10 times of the waveguide wavelength, ${\lambda}_g$=15.3cm, and the measured total insertion loss is 0.15dB. The low power test measurment showed the power multiplication of 14.69. The design goal is to achieve the peak power of 300MW, pulse width $4{\mu}s$ with 30 pulse repetition rate. In this article we discuss the treveling wave resonant ring constructed at the PAL laboratory together with the test results.
