In this paper, a predictive fuzzy control algorithm to supervise the elevator system with plural elevator cars is developed and its performance is evaluated. Elevator group controller must decide which of the cars is suitable for responding the registered hall call and allocate it to the selected car controller. In most cases, the purpose of group control is to minimize waiting time of passengers and occurrence of long wait as much as possible. The proposed algorithm ensures the efficient operations of the group cars and provides the improved level of service, coping with multiple control objects and uncertainty of system state. The feasibility of the proposed control algorithm is evaluated by graphic simulator on computer.

The objective of this study is to solve the operation scheduling problem of plural battery energy storage systems (BESS), and to find useful intonation from its result. Unlike conventional energy storage system, BESS has on hardware characteristics such as high efficiency, fast-acting response and operational loss. Considering rate constraints of thermal unit power as well as hardware characteristics of BESS, the operation scheduling has an intricated problem. In order to solve this optimization problem, we use successive approximations dynamic programming. In two types of operation, the proposed algorithm is applied to test system. one is daily optimal operation, the other weekly optimal operation.

This paper describes a design of graphical user interface for a simulated breeding tool with multifield. The term field is used here as a population of visualized individuals that are candidates of selection. Multi-field interface enables the user to breed his/her favorite phenotypes by selection independently in each field, and he/she can copy arbitrary individual into another field. As known on genetic algorithms, a small population likely leads to premature convergence trapped by a local optimum, and migration among plural populations is useful to escape from local optimum. The multi-field user interface provides easy implementation of migration and wider diversity. We show the usefulness of multi-field user interface through an example of a breeding system of 2D CG images.

In order to design a stable robust controller, nominal model, and the upper bound about the uncertainty which is the error of the model are needed. The problem to estimate the nominal model of controlled system and the upper bound of uncertainty at the same time is called robust identifcation. When the nominal model of controlled system and the upper bound of uncertainty in relation to robust identifcation are given, the evaluation of the validity of the model and the upper bound makes it possible to distinguish whether there is a model which explains observation data including disturbance among the model set. This paper suggests a method to identify the uncertainty which removes disturbance and expounds observation data by giving a probable postulation and plural data set to disturbance. It also examines the suggested method through a numerical computation simulation and validates its effectiveness.

In outdoor visible light communication channels and LED road illumination communications for the intelligent transport systems (ITS), inter symbol interference (ISI) due to multipath propagation prevents high data rate transmission. Indoor wireless optical communication systems utilizing white LED lights and on the road illumination have been studying about it. Generally, plural lights are installed in room and considered to the traffic information system using existing LED traffic lights. Therefore, their optical path difference must be considered. In this paper, the influence of an optical path difference has been investigated and two approaches against this problem are introduced. One uses on-off keying, return-to-zero (OOK-RZ) coding and the other uses optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM).

도시종합정보시스템구축의 목적은 언제, 어디서나, 누구라도, 원하는 정보를 쉽게 입수 가능한 정보환경을 구축하여 도시의 활성화를 도모하고 문화와 정보가 어우러지는 친환경사회의 구현과 도시 안전성을 제고하는 미래지향적인 최첨단의 정보화도시를 창출하는데 있다. 주된 연구내용으로는 도시종합정보시스템의 개념정립과 구성요소, 그리고 도시종합정보시스템의 구축계획에 대해서 현재의 콘텐츠를 살펴보고 매체별 특징에 맞는 시스템구축계획을 논의 하였다.

Recently, there are many electricity, electronics, and communication equipment which need to earthing in the building. When electric current flows into a certain earthing system in the same building, the potential of other earthing system rises. This potential interference require surface potential of electrods by electrode shape. In this paper basic formula is deduced on the basis of both electrodes surface potential of earth electrode as a source of the potential interference and earth electrode which receive the potential interference. The degree of potential interference as multiple earth electrode is verified the simulated results by means of the simple model in advance.

The Titius-Bode's relation has been historically successful in predicting the location of Ceres in the solar system, while its physical basis remains hidden. In this study, we attempt to answer the question of whether the Titius-Bode's relation is universally valid for exoplanetary systems with plural exoplanets. For this purpose, we statistically study the distribution of the ratio of the orbiting periods of two planets in 32 exoplanetary systems hosted by a single star. We only consider the period ratios derived from exoplanets orbiting a single star since celestial objects under investigation are kept as simple as possible and free from uncertainties such as the mass of the host star. We find that the distribution of period ratios of two exoplanets appears inconsistent with that derived from the Titius-Bode's relation using the χ² test. We also found that the distance distribution in exoplanetary systems unlikely follows the uniform distribution or the Poisson's distribution. It is noted, however, that more rigorous statistical tests should be carried out to reach a more certain conclusion.

In this study, a spiral valve which is used with a cryogenic linear expander and composed of plural plate coil shapes was examined. Generally, a spiral valve is well known for having excellent efficiency and low noise characteristics. In order to determine the movement characteristics and to investigate the limit of valve displacement, the stress variations according to the changes of operating pressure, displacement and workable temperature are discussed. From this examination, it is considered that the results of this study will significantly facilitate the design and development of a spiral valve for the cryogenic linear expander.
