  • Recently, it was reported that complaints about problems being experienced with the performance of vehicles operating on autogas in Korea. The problem was being assumed due to contaminants in LPG and an oily material which was being deposited in vaporizer, injector in LPG fuel system. This study is focused on the analysis of contaminant of automobile parts on LPG fuel system. The sampling points of contaminants are injectors, fuel filters, vaporizer in automobile equipment and it was also investigated by GC-MS, ICP-AES, SIMDIS and EDS. According to results, it was presumed that this contaminants had been analyzed plasticizers with hydrocarbons with high boiling point, Fe from steel corrosion, greases from gas station.

  • A simple, accurate GC analytical technique for the determination of phthalates. commonly used as plasticizers during the manufacturing process of PVC bags, in blood component preparations was developed and validated. The blood component preparations were extracted with n-hexane. The n-hexane layer was evaporated to dryness and the residue was dissolved in 1 $m\ell$ of n-hexane and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. • Ceramic green sheets consisting Bi-based glass frit were fabricated for an application to PDP transparent dielectric front panel. The dispersion condition of the slurry for tape casting was pre-examined, and two kinds of hinder and plasticizer were used in the non-aqueous slurry system. In the fabrication process for the frit film, the properties such as dry and firing shrinkage, elongation, and transmittance were examined at the condition of various mixing ratio of plasticizers. In the mixing ratio of polyethylene glycol to dibutyl phthalate of 3:5wt%, a good adhesion, elongation and transmittance were observed at the firing temperature of $580^{\circ}C$. The photograph for the cross section of the interface was also showed a dense microstructure.

  • The effect of organic solvent mixture ratio on the rheology property of slurry and thickness control of ceramic green sheet was investigated. For selecting a suitable dispersant multiple light scattering method was used to evaluate the particle migration velocity and variation of clarification layer thickness. Using the selected dispersant the dispersion property of solution according to solvent mixture ratio was investigated. Binder and plasticizers were added to formulate slurries and their viscosity was evaluated according to solvent mixture ratio. Ceramic green sheets with average thickness of 30, 50 urn were fabricated via tape casting and their thickness tolerances measured. As a result according to solvent mixture ratio the solution and slurry properties varied and for the mixture ratio of ethanol/toluene of 80/20 the ceramic green sheet with the lowest thickness tolerance was obtained.

  • The present research work is on the effect of sawdust ash (SDA) on the mechanical strengths of self compacting concrete (SCC) using naphthalene sulfonate (NS) as a plasticizer. Experiments on compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths are conducted and the data analyzed using the Minitab 15 software. The results showed that SDA can defer the reaction of cement hydration and prolong the setting times of cement paste. This was very much pronounced on the flexural and splitting tensile strengths at 90 days of curing which are 36 % and 33 % higher than the control strengths, respectively. The study has proposed strength relations of mortar compressive strength with the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and these are, 5 and 7 times respectively. The flexural strength is 1.5 times that of the splitting tensile. Finally, linear models were developed on these relationships.

  • ABSTRACT : The aging characteristics of NEPE propellant is studied by HPLC analysis, cube crack test, swelling, and mechanical property test. The depletion of mixed stabilizer NMAI2-NDPA is analysed by Berthelot's law. The stabilizer NMA was completely comsumed after 16 weeks at $70{\circ}$ and after 6 weeks at $80{\circ}$ and the cracks developed in the sample. The aging trend of the propellant was shown hardening phenomena in the range of 20-$60{\circ}$ due to evaporation of energetic plasticizers.

  • Generally, large amounts of DOP(Di-Octyl Phthalate) chemicals are used as plasticizers in PVC compound manufacturing processes. However, it is very important to collect DOP species immediately from a workplace in order to protect worker's heath and recover them. To accomplish these objectives, we need to understand the droplet formation and growth mechanisms of DOP species. In this study, two important parameters such as temperature gradient and residence time were considered to clarify these mechanisms. We found that residence time is very critical to determine the droplet size distribution of DOP, whereas temperature gradient in general operating conditions(less than $-6.8^{\circ}C/cm$) is negligible.

  • Photopolymers have been of considerable due to their easy of processing and high sensitivity. Exposure of photopolymers to optical source produce recroding mark where the light initiates a photoreaction that occurs preferentially in regions of high illumination. The photoreaction typically involves polymerization of an acrylic or epoxy monomer dispersed together with a photoinitiators in a polymeric binder. A number of photopolymerizable materials have been developed to apply them in 3D optical recording such as holographic or 3-dimensional data storage. In this presentation, photopolymers derived from sol-gel matrix and transparent polymer binder are summarized. The effect of monomer composition and plasticizers on optical recording will be discussed based on the monomer transport during the photopolymerization.

  • PVC membrane electrodes based on the lipophilic neutral carrier, dibenzo-18-crown-6, cyclic oligomers of teit-butylphenol-formaidehyde condensates, calix[4]arenes as the active sensors for verapamil have been prepared and tested in a variety of plasticizers. At pH 5.0, the electrode exhibits a Nernstian response in the range of 10$^{-2}$~5$\times$10$^{-5}$ M verapamil with a slope of 49.1$\pm$0.5mV per concentration decade. The electrode constructed in this work can be used continuously for at least 1 month before any damage to the membrane occurs. And the analyses of the local anesthetic amine, which are good to select a specific compound in a mixed solution, were also accomplished by using of another neutral carrier, a DB18C6, for comparing with calix[4]arene.

  • In this study, it was founded to make the optimal mixture for producing concrete which is self-compacting, yet, and generates low heat of hydration by using fly ash, blast furnace slags and limestone powders as binders in addition to cement while using super-plasticizers and viscosity agents as admixture agents. The structural behaviors of the concrete produced with the selected mixture were compared with those of the concrete currently using for construction of nuclear power plants. The study shows that the blended high fluidity concrete including limestone is better in workability and durability than the concrete currently in use for nuclear power plants.
