Effect of different plant densities on growth and yield of sorghum(Sorghum bicolor L. Moench.)

  • Sorghum is a crop with a various plant height depending on the planting density. If the height exceeds 1.8m, which is the harvestable height of the combine, loss is caused by clogging of the installation, entrance of the threshing section and the threshing section. The purpose of this study is to set the planting distance and number of plants per hill suitable for combine harvesting as the plant length does not exceed 1.8m. The experimental variety was Nampungchal. The experiment design was a split-plot design with three replications. The treatments were as follow: Main-plot were 1 and 2 plants as number of plants per hill and sub-plots were $60{\times}20cm$ (practice), $70{\times}15$, 20, 25, 30 cm as planting distance. The amount of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium fertilization were 100, 70, $80kg\;ha^{-1}$. Data were collected: (1) grain yield: weight of grain in $kg\;ha^{-1}$, (2) 1000 grain weight: average weight of 1000 grain, (3) plant height: distance from soil to top of panicle, (4) ear length: distance from top of stem to top of ear in cm, (5) stem diameter: diameter of second internode, (6) tiller number per hill. Analyses of variance were performed using R version 3.3.1(https://www. r- project. org). The Duncan's multiple range test(DMR) was used to separate treatment means at P < 0.05. As number of plants per hill increased, plant height and yield increased and tiller number decreased. As planting distance increased, plant height and yield decreased and tiller number increased. At 1 plant per hill, the plant height did not exceed 1.8m at all planting distance. At 2 plants per hill, the plant height did not exceed 1.8m from the planting distance of $70{\times}25cm$. At 1 plant per hill, the tiller number increased to 0.23, 0.27, 0.60 and 0.70 as the planting distance increased to $70{\times}15$, 20, 25 and 30 cm, respectively. At 2 plants per hill, the tiller number increased to 0.03, 0.03, 0.14 and 0.40 as the planting distance increased to $70{\times}15$, 20, 25 and 30 cm, respectively. At 1 plant per hill, the yield decreased to 6030, 4280, 3400 and $3230kg\;ha^{-1}$ as the planting distance increased. At 2 plant per hill, the yield decreased to 7850, 5770, 5720 and $4960kg\;ha^{-1}$ as the planting distance increased. We recommend that the optimum number of plants per hill and planting distance is 2 and $70{\times}25cm$ suitable for combine harvesting.

Analysis of the PTO Torque of a Transplanter by Planting Condition

  • Purpose: This study measured and analyzed the PTO (power take off) torque of a transplanter according to the planting conditions during field operation. Methods: A torque measurement system was constructed with torque sensors to measure the torque of a PTO shaft, a measurement device to acquire sensor signals, and a power controller to provide power for a laptop computer. The field operation was conducted at four planting distances (26, 35, 43, and 80 cm) and two planting depths using the transplanter on a field with similar soil conditions. One-way ANOVA with planting distance and Duncan's multiple range test at a significance level of 0.05 were used to analyze the PTO torque. The torque ratio was calculated based on the minimum torque using the average PTO torque measured under each planting condition. Results: The average torques on the PTO shaft for planting distances of 26, 35, 43, and 80 cm at a low planting depth were 11.05, 9.07, 7.04, and 3.75 Nm, respectively; the same for planting distances of 26, 35, 43, and 80 cm at a middle planting depth were 12.20, 9.86, 7.94, and 4.32 Nm, respectively. When the planting distance decreased by 43, 35, and 26 cm, the torque ratio at a low planting depth increased by 88, 142, and 195%, respectively. When the planting distance decreased by 43, 35, and 26 cm, the torque ratio at the middle planting depth increased by 84, 128, and 182%, respectively. Conclusions: PTO torque fluctuated by planting distance and depth. Moreover, the PTO torque increased for short planting distances. Therefore, farmers should determine the planting conditions of the transplanter by considering the load and durability of the machine. The results of this study provide useful information pertaining to the optimum PTO design of the transplanter considering the field load.

친환경 고속도로의 건설 방향 (The Prospects of Highway Road in Consideration of Natural Environment)

  • For the purpose of building up the construction prospects of highway in consideration of natural environment. The tree planting and flower seeding in highway road side using native species were offered to natural landscape and resting area landscaping for peoples, and these area were 194place. The tree planting and flower seeding activity is to improve driving circumstances, and to conserve living and natural environment along the highways. And, preparation of ecotone and biotope at the highway surroundings for natural ecosystem conservation is an important activity, and planting of natural plants is generally carried out near wildlife ecoroads in order to give the way for animals. The primary purpose of this tree planting and seeding is not only to reduce environmental pollution, but also to enhance the ecological surroundings of highway circumference. Ultimately, It is essential that the constructive method of highway think over such as ecological environment and road design, surveying and management, construction, highway maintenance etc.

생태공원조성을 위한 식재설계방법의 개발 -시각적 선호도와 생태적 다양성의 상호관련성을 중심으로- (A Study on the Development of Planting Design Method for Creating an Ecological Park -Focus on a Correlation between Visual Preference and Ecological Diversity-)

  • This study seeks to find an approach tool that allows to consider both ecological and visual aspect in developing an ecological space. Main objective of this study is to develop a planting design method in consideration of correlation between high visual preference and ecological diversity. To this end, an integrated method based on visual design principles and landscape ecological principles was developed first. Then study areas of 20 natural areas and 10 urban areas were selected to survey and analyze visual preference and ecological diversity. The result showed that scale is an element that has the greatest impact on visual preference. In areas with high ecological diversity, scale and connectivity had the biggest impact. In order to have a planting design desirable visually and ecologically based on these factors, it may be divided into following three issues.(1) In oder to increase ecological diversity in areas with strong visual preference, a priority should be given to introduce techniques promoting harmony among dominant species of various scales and other species. At the same time, there should be efforts to secure connectivity. (2) To improve visual preferences in areas with high ecological diversity, close-range, medium-range, and distant landscapes should be ensured by aligning colors and connectivity of various scales with other factors. (3) Also, a target area should be developed into a visually preferred and ecologically sound area by supplementing form and interlocking issues and identifying the spirit of the place. This study offers a way to improve visual preference and promote ecological diversity indeveloping ecological parks for the future. In landscape planning and design, it is important to secure various scales and connectivity as high-priority principles.

조경업체에서의 철쭉재배품종의 혼선 및 이용실태 분석 (Analysis of Confusion of Azalea Cultivars and Its Actual State of Use in Landscaping Businesses)

  • 국내 조경용 철쭉재배품종(이하, 철쭉류)에 대한 조경업체 종사자(설계자 및 시공자, 생산자)간 철쭉류별 혼선 및 이용실태를 분석하였다. 조달청 등의 고시기관에서 고시한 철쭉류 명칭대로 생산농가에 주문 시 어떤 철쭉류가 배달되는지 조사해 철쭉류의 혼선 실태를 분석했다. 또한, 최근 완공된 아파트 3곳의 식재설계 도면에서 철쭉류의 식재설계 상황, 도면상의 철쭉류와 실제 식재된 철쭉류와의 일치 여부를 조사하였다. 고시된 철쭉류 명칭대로 주문한 결과, 영산홍 명칭으로는 베니, 쓰리, 대왕의 3가지 철쭉류가 배달되었고, 자산홍의 명칭으로는 자산홍, 한철의 2가지 철쭉류가 주문되었다. 영산홍은 베니, 쓰리, 대왕 등을 통칭하는 명칭으로 생산자와 주문자간 혼선을 빚었다. 자산홍의 경우에는 한철품종과 형질이 유사하여 생산자가 재배품종을 명확하게 구분하지 못하였거나, 주문자가 쉽게 구분하지 못해 두 재배품종을 구분하지 않고 보냈을 가능성도 있다. 식재설계 도면상 철쭉류 명칭은 고시기관에서 고시한 철쭉류 명칭을 사용하거나, 철쭉, 영산홍 등의 포괄적이고 불분명한 명칭으로 기재되었다. 식재설계 도면에 기재된 철쭉류는 실제 시공현장에서는 전혀 다른 철쭉류가 식재된 경우가 많았다. 이러한 원인은 설계자가 식재설계 도면에 정확한 재배품종명을 기재하지 않고, 시공자는 각 철쭉류의 분류 특성을 정확하게 인지하지 못하고, 비슷한 꽃색이나 구입이 용이한 철쭉류를 시공 현장조건에 맞게 심기 때문일 것이다.

서울 월드컵공원 평화의공원 지구의 식재특성 연구 (Planting Characteristics of Pyeonghwa Park in World Cup Park, Seoul)

  • 본 연구는 도시공원의 수목식재 개선을 위한 기초연구로 서울 월드컵공원 평화의공원 지구의 식재기능을 구분하고 기능별 식재특성을 연구하였다. 우선 식재기능에 관한 이론적 고찰을 토대로 도시공원내 적용 가능한 식재기능을 도출하였고, 대상지 설계의도와 환경요인 분석을 거쳐 이를 적용하였다. 식재특성 분석은 우점 식재종 분포와 층위 구성을 전체 도면화한 후 식재기능별 표본 조사구를 설정하여 배식구조를 분석하였다. 대상지 식재기능은 경관식재의 정형식재, 자연경관식재와 완충식재의 방음식재, 차폐식재, 녹음식재의 녹음식재, 지피식재로 구분되었다. 우점식재종은 소나무, 느티나무가 넓게 식재되었고, 식재기능별로는 자연경관식재지내 소나무 이외 다양한 수종이 도입되어 있었다. 이는 공원조성이전 식재된 기념식수목으로 과도한 종의 다양성과 수종간 부조화로 의도한 자연경관 형성에 부적합하였다. 방음식재지는 지형 조정과 키 큰수목을 배식하였으나 전체적으로 하층의 보완이 필요하였다.

숙기가 다른 사일리지용 옥수수의 파종기가 사초의 수량과 사료가치에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Planting Date on Forage Yield and Quality of corn Four Maturity Groups)

  • A field experiment was conducted at SNU Experimental Livestock Farm, Suweon in 1995 to determine effect of planting date on forage performance of wm hybrids of four different maturity groups. A split-plot design replicated three times was used, with com hybrids representing four maturity groups (115, 118, 121 and 125 days) being the main plots and planting dates (3124, 415, 415, 425, 515 and 5/15) the sub-plots. 1. Days to emergence and percent emergence from the March 24 planting were, on the average, 36 days and 58%, respectively, but those from the April 5 to May 15 planting averaged 12 days and 92%, respectively. 2. Plant and ear heights increased gradually as the dates of planting were delayed except the May 15 planting, however, percent ear was decreased as the dates of planting were delayed. There was a trend for the mean lodging percentage of the hybrids to be higher as the planting date was delayed. 3. The 115-and 118-day mediumearly maturing hybrids harvested on August 18 produced silages with a dry matter content between 27 and 30% at all planting dates except the May 15 planting, while the 121-and 125-day medium-late maturing hybrids produced silages with a dry matter wntent less than 27% regardless of any planting dates. 4. There were no significant differences in mean dry matter yield among the hybrids, but significant mean TDN yield differences were found. The 115-, 118- and 125-day hybrids had significantly higher mean TDN yield than the 121-day hybrid. There were significant differences in mean dry matter and TDN yields among the planting dates. The mean dry matter and TDN yields from the April 5, 15 and 25 plantings were significantly higher than those of other plantings, however, there were no significant differences in mean TDN yield among the April 5, April 15 and April 25 plantings. No significant planting date $\times$ maturity interactions were found for both the dry matter and TDN yields. 5. Mean stover NDF and ADF contents of the 115- and 118day hybrids were higher than those of the 121- and 125-day hybrids, but the reverse was true for mean stover IVDMD and RFV. Mean stover NDF an ADF contents increased with earlier plantings, but mean stover IVDMD and RFV increased when planting was delayed. Results of this experiment indicate that for corn planting in central and northern areas of Korea, early to mid-April may be the right time with the 115-to 118-day maturity hybrids when silage making before August 20 is taken into consideration.

재식설계의 관점에서 본 칼 푀르스터(Karl Foerster)의 정원 연구 (A Study on Karl Foerster's Garden from the Viewpoint of Planting Design)

  • 칼 푀르스터(Karl Foerster)는 독일 정원문화 형성에 가장 큰 영향을 미친 인물로서, 새로운 소재의 선정과 정원을 보급하는데 크게 기여하였다. 특히, 재식설계의 관점으로 볼 때 최근 들어 유행하고 있는 자연식재의 계기를 만들었고, 현대에 사용되고 있는 그라스류를 이미 사용하여 디자인한 점 등 현시점에서 재조명해 볼 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 칼 푀르스터의 정원을 통해서 그의 재식설계방법과 역사적인 의의를 찾고자 하는 것이다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 공간의 형식면에서는 기후와 시대적인 영향에 의해 선큰가든 스타일로 조성하였고, 자연스럽게 개방된 목초지와 양치류, 그라스류의 사용으로 자연식재의 유행을 선도하였다. 둘째, 소재의 사용은 다년초의 필요성을 주장함과 동시에 일반인들이 쉽게 재배할 수 있고, 추위에 잘 견디는 강한 식물의 다년초를 직접 육종하였다. 또한, 식물의 특징과 결합방식을 전시용 정원으로 조성하여 대중에게 알려주는 실험적인 방법을 사용하였다. 셋째, 재식설계의 미적 원칙은 색상과 계절에 집중하고, 파란색, 노란색, 흰색을 선호하여 델피니움, 루드베키아, 플록스 등의 신품종 개발을 하였다. 계절을 세분한 7계절에 대한 생각은 지금의 윈터가든을 조성하는 효시가 되었다.

차폐유형과 차폐도를 달리한 패럴랙스(Parallax) 공간의 시각 선호도 (An Analysis of the Visual Preference on Parallax Space by Blockage Pattern and Ratio)

  • The purpose of this study is to create a planting design for progressive realization. For this, visual preferences as measured via questionnaire were evaluated by the Scenic Beauty Estimation(SBE) and paired comparison methods. The results can be summarized as follows. Through photo observation, the average visual blockage ratio was 38% and the range of degree of the visual blockage ratio was $30{\sim}50%$. The sketch simulation and filtered pattern received the highest preference score and fumed out to be the most practical pattern out of all the patterns evaluated. Also, in the sketch simulation, the high preference values were observed for a distance of 9 to 12m from the view point to the blockage tree with a D/H ratio of 2. The preference score significantly decreased with the increase of the visual blockage ratio having a turning point at $30{\sim}35%$ of the visual blockage ratio, even though the distance parameters were more important than the visual blockage ratio in the scores. An outstanding view must be handled properly to be preserved or accentuated. Framed, open, enclosed, screened or filtered pattern views should be completely revealed only from their best vantage point, not given away at first glimpse. It this sense, parallax spatial beauty with trees could be improved through the visual aspects of plan arrangements and seems to be an effective design technique for landscape planning and planting design.

패널형 입면녹화의 시각적 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Visual Satisfaction of a Panel-type Facade Planting)

  • 도시가 산업화 되어가면서 도심의 토지이용이 과밀화되고 건축물의 면적이 늘어나고 있다. 이에 건축물 녹화가 옥상 및 벽면을 중심으로 적극적으로 조성되고 있으며, 입면녹화의 경우 건물이 고층화 되면서 입면적이 넓어 벽면녹화가 도심에서 효과적인 녹화수단으로 인식되고 있다. 특히 패널타입의 녹화수법은 조기 녹화와 설치 시공의 편리함으로 점차 이용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 패널타입에 대 한 연구는 대부분 식생 하부 시스템이나 관수시스템을 중심으로 이루어지고 있으며, 경관 중심에 대한 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 패널형 입면녹화의 경관평가를 통하여 선호요소를 추출하고자 한다. 설문은 패널형 입면녹화가 설치된 장소의 이용자들을 중심으로 직접조사를 하였다 연구 결과, 자연스럽다는 형용사에서 3.80으로 가장 높은 점수를 나타났다. 이는 옹벽이나 건축물 벽면이 드러나는 것보다 녹화를 하는 것이 이용자들에게 긍정적인 반응을 보이는 것으로 사료된다. 다음으로 친근한(3.70), 편안한(3.65), 아름다운(3.65), 안정감 있는(3.50)가 긍정적인 경관이미지로 나타났다. 반면 정적인, 적막한, 소박한, 무거운, 우중충한, 어두운, 지저분한의 부정적 경관 이미지가 나타났는데, 이는 관리가 제대로 이루어지지 않기 때문으로 사료된다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통하여 패널형 입면녹화의 개발과 보급에 필요한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.
