  • According to the recent expansion of Trade Shows within the government's policy in exhibition industry, studies about the trade shows needs to be focused more on the attendees related to the environment. In most of the researches related to this topic until now had been biased in terms of economic benefits and the standpoint of organizers. Considering that this study is to improve environment of Trade Shows from an attendees' point of view as an attempt to apply the concept of Service Design which is the activity of planning and organizing people, infrastructure, communication and material components of a service. It is about the idea of bringing service design principles to services in Trade Shows. Good design process brings in a good understanding of the context : understanding the environment and redefining problems from the standpoint of attendees, in order to improve its quality, the interaction between service provider and attendees and the attendees' experience.

  • This paper presents a new approach to evaluate reliability indices of electric distribution systems using genetic Algorithm (GA). The use of reliability evaluation is an important aspect of distribution system planning and operation to adjust the reliability level of each area. In this paper, the reliability model is based on the optimal load transforming problem to minimize load generated load point outage in each sub-section. This approach is one of the most difficult procedures and become combination problems. A new approach using GA was developed for this problem. GA is a general purpose optimization technique based on principles inspired from the biological evolution using metaphors of mechanisms such as natural selection, genetic recombination and survival of the fittest. Test results for the model system with 24 nodes 29 branches are reported in the paper.

  • Individuals with special needs include those with behavioral issues, developmental disorders, cognitive disorders, congenital or genetic disorders, or systemic disease. These conditions may place them at increased risk for oral diseases. Dental management of patients with special needs require in-depth understanding of the background of disability and available behavioral guidance theories. Therefore dental team members need more training in the theory and practice of behavior management principles, which might lead to a clinical experience that is more respectful of the dignity and independence of patients with special needs. The dental professional should be flexible to modify the behavior management approach according to the individual patients needs. Also a family/care-giver centered approach based on their preferences and concerns, the patient's challenging behaviors, and related medical problem can serve to improve the treatment planning and oral health management of dental patients with special needs. This article focuses on uncooperative behavior and behavior management, which help practicing dentists to understand their role in the care of patients with special needs.

Rites of Zhou Core Values of City Building and Critical Review of Flat Conformational Analysis through Its Annotations (『주례(周禮)』 주(注)·소(疏)를 통해 논의된 도성건설(都城建設)의 핵심과 평면적 형태해석의 비판적 검토)

  • Of all the annotations of Rites of Zhou for 2,000 years, there is no single line of history of ore contents related to city building in its current perspective. This is because the definitive evidence of the interpretation of related phrases is regarded as top-level guidelines called "辨方正位(Byeonbang-Jeongwi)", and their specific contents have been discussed in '匠人建國(Jangin-Geonguk)'. The phrases of '匠人營國(Jangin-Yeongguk)', considered to be the key buzzword related to city building, must be reconsidered for these reasons. As such, this paper strives to analyze the system of logic formed by consistent interpretation that flowed for 2,000 years from Han to Qing dynasties, and to discover the principles of city building used in Confucian classics.

  • The object of this research is to examine the planning principles of Sangju which has an old history The results of the investigation are as follow 1. Sangju placed on the plains in the castle, it is established in Korea Dynasty 2. The formation of Sangju is infruenced Feng-shui. They plants Chestnuts against centipede mountain 3. Sangju is similar to the configuration of the another city in Feng-shui and elements of Component. But, many buildings(jin-Young(Military site), Choong-Ui-Dan, Choong-Yeol-Sa) are associated with the war in Sangju. 4. The City hall is located on the west side of the hotel(Kaek-Sa). It is located on Wang-San which is a place where citizens with symbolism. So, the City hall is higher than Kaek-Sa 5. The cruciform style road which connected with 4 gates was formed in the castle.

  • New buildings are to be needed for an aging society. But, there may be a solution on the multi-purpose & mixed-use existing facilities. Therefore this study is focused on verification of mixed-use school facilities's potentialities. If possible, I want to suggest some directions of renewal primary school planning. The results of this study are as follows : 1) It is important to make a policy for improving the educational environment, 2) Future buildings must be planned by the principles based on the lifelong learning, 3) Mixed-use building blocks need to be laid out by the concept of accessibility, 4) We can use existing primary school's areas as a elderly welfare facilities without any renovation and increasing areas.

  • The objective of this research is to define and explain the factors of destination chosen by travel consumers in Agricultural tourism. Their party size we, in general, smaller, and they tend to spend more time planning their trips and to book them further in advance. They also use different information sources when making travel decision. There is also a need to examine in greater depth the proposition that Agricutural Tourism are more compatiable with the principles of ecollogically sustainable tourism than Non Agricultural tourism formats.

  • Conventional artificial intelligence systems are not properly responding under dynamically changing environments. To overcome this problem, reactive planning systems implementing new Al principles, called behavior-based Al or emergent computation, have been proposed and confirmed their usefulness. As another alternative, biological information processing systems may provide many feasible ideas to these problems. Immune system, among these systems, plays important roles to maintain its own system against dynamically changing environments. Therefore, immune system would provide a new paradigm suitable for dynamic problem dealing with unknown environments. In this paper, a new approach to behavior-based Al by paying attention to biological immune system is investigated. The feasibility of this method is confirmed by applying to behavior control of an autonomous mobile robot in cluttered environment.

  • Since geographic information systems (GIS) began to emerge as an effective spatial information processing technology, there also has been growing interest in integrated use of GIS with other decision support systems. As various spatial-related problems such as urban development planning and natural resource management require more analytical and interpretive solutions, it is viewed that the supportive role of GIS to complement or reinforce the counterpart decision tools will be increased. This study examines the major situations that have needed the integration methodologies in the past decade to derive research trends relating to this integration agenda and, hence, to elicit the possible underlying principles from those experiences. According to the kinds of decision tools linked with GIS, alternative methodologies and viewpoints are categorized and compared.

  • Scientists planning research that involves the use of animals are required by international and/or national law to examine the possibilities for the implementation of Replacement, Reduction and/or Refinement (the Three Rs principles of Russell and Burch) in experiments for research, testing, and education. There are two Korean laws legislating humane use of animals and ethical review prior to animal experiments. This report reviews current practice of the literature search by the researchers and protocol review by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees on the Replacement, Reduction and Refinement alternatives in Korea. The promotion and protection of the laboratory animals are one of the core competencies of investigators exploring the ethical conduct of research and good science.
