Cone Beam형 전산화단층영상을 이용한 상악대구치 발치 후 상악동 함기화 평가 (Maxillary sinus pneumatization after maxillary molar extraction assessed with cone beam computed tomography)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the inferior expansion of the maxillary sinus floor following maxillary molar extraction. Materials and Methods : Cone beam computed tomographic images of 59 subjects were used to evaluate the height difference of the maxillary sinus floor between extraction sites and contralateral dentate sites. The height of the maxillary sinus floor was defined as the vertical distance to the Frankfort plane from the level of the anterior nasal spine to the most inferior point of the sinus floor. We examined the difference in sinus pneumatization according to the number of missing teeth and the vertical relationship of the molar roots to the sinus floor. Results : The inferior expansion of the maxillary sinus floor was $1.20{\pm}1.86\;mm$ on the maxillary first molar and $1.90{\pm}2.42\;mm$ on the maxillary second molar. Increased expansion was observed in cases where two proximate molars were extracted. There was no significant difference in sinus pneumatization following extraction according to the vertical relationship of the molar roots to the sinus floor. Conclusion : The results of this study confirm that sinus pneumatization occurs following maxillary molar extraction. In situations where pneumatization can affect treatment after molar extraction, three-dimensional radiography should be considered.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the change of before and after treatment of anterior openbite malocclusions treated by Multiloop Edgewise Archwire technique. The openbite sample consisted of 4 male and 12 female adults, treated with nonextraction or third molar extraction. The normal sample consisted of 58 subjects, which have pleasing facial profile and normal occlusion and no experience of orthodontic or prosthodontic treatment. The 58 subjects of normal sample were subdivided by cephalemetric vertical relationship of face. The 40 subjects, cephalometric vertical relationship of face was in normal range, classified as Normal Sample group 1. The 18 subjects, increased cephalometric vertical relationship of face, classified as Normal Sample group 2. The computerized cephalometric analysis was accomplished with 50 reference points for 22 skeletal measurements, 46 dentoalveolar measurements, 8 soft tissue measurements. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out with paired t-test, Student's t-test, and DUNCAN test using SAS(PC version), The results were as follows : 1. There were no statistically significant differences in skeletal measurement between before and after treatment. The major changes were in dentoalveolar region. 2. After treatment, the long axis of maxillary and mandibular posterior teeth were distally tipped-back, and uprighted to bisected occlusal plane. The interincisal angle was increased. 3. There were no statistically significant increase in the upper posterior dental height and statistically significant decrease in the lower posterior dental height. The upper anterior dental height was increased, but there was no statistically significant increase in the absolute upper anterior dental hight. The lower anterior dental height was increased. 4. After treatment, the maxillary occlusal plane to palatal plane angle and the mandibular occlusal plane to mandibular plane angle were statistically significant increased. Then, there were no statistically significant difference between after treatment group and normal sample group 2. 5. After treatment, the percentage of upper lip length to upper anterior dental height was decreased. Then, There were no statistically significant difference between after treatment group and normal sample group 2.

Emission and Structural Properties of Titanium Oxide Nanoparticles-coated a-plane (11-20) GaN by Spin Coating Method

  • The blue light emitting diode (LED) structure based on non-polar a-plane (11-20) GaN which was coated TiO2 nanoparticles using spin coating method was grown on r-plane (1-102) sapphire substrates to improve light extraction efficiency. We report on the emission and structural properties with temperature dependence of photoluminescence (PL) and x-ray rocking curves (XRC). From PL results at 13 K of undoped GaN samples, basal plane stacking fault (BSF) and near band edge (NBE) emission peak were observed at 3.434 eV and 3.484 eV, respectively. We also found the temperature-induced band-gap shrinkage, which was fitted well with empirical Varshini's equation. The PL intensity of TiO2 nanoparticles ?coated multiple quantum well (MQW) sample is decayed slower than that of no coating sample with increasing temperature. The anisotrophic strain and azimuth angle dependence in the films were shown from XRC results. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) along the GaN [11-20] and [1-100] directions were 564.9 arcsec and 490.8 arcsec, respectively. A small deviation of FWHM values at in-plane direction is attributed to uniform in-plane strain.

  • A core technology for implementation of Augmented Reality is to develop a merging algorithm between interesting 3-D objects and real images. In this paper, we present a 3-D object recognition method to decide viewing direction toward the object from camera. This process is the starting point to merge with real image and 3-D objects. Perspective projection between a camera and 3-dimentional objects defines a plane in 3-D space that is from a line in an image and the focal point of the camera.   • In this papers, we proposed the new method in order to diagnosis partial discharge type of transformers. For wavelet transform, Daubechies filter is used, we can obtain wavelet coefficients which is used to extract feature of statistical parameters (maximum value, average value, dispersion, skewness, kurtosis) about high frequency current signal per 3-electrode type (needle-plane electrode, IEC electrode and Void electrode.). Also. these coefficients are used to identify Signal of internal partial discharge in transformer. As a result. from compare of high frequency current signal amplitude and average value. we are obtained results of IEC electrode> Void electrode> Needle-Plane electrode. otherwise. In case of skewness and kurtosis, we are obtained results of Void electrode> IEC electrode > Needle-Plane electrode. As Improved method in order to diagnosis partial discharge type of transformers, we use neural network.

Orthopantomogram을 이용한 하악공 및 하악관에 관한 연구 (A Study of Mandibular Foramen and Mandibular Canal using Orthopantomograms.)

  • The mandibular canal must be considered carefully during surgical treatment, especially surgical extraction of the impacted tooth and intraosseous implant because it contains the important inferior alveolar nerve and vessels. The author investigated the curvatUre of the mandibular canal, the positional frequency of mandibular foramen to the occlusal plane and gonial angle and the positional frequency of the mental foramen to the tooth site using orthopantomograms. The materials consisted of 295 orthopantomograms divided into seven groups ranging from the first decade to 6th. decade. The results were as follows: 1. The position of mandibular foramen was most frequently below occlusal plane in Group Ⅰ (78.6%) and Group Ⅱ (71.2%), above occlusal plane in Group Ⅲ (63.0%), Group IV (71.1%), Group V (57.6%), Group (76.7%) and Group VII (70.0%). 2. The curvature of mandibular canal was 142.8° in Group Ⅰ, 142.09° in Group Ⅱ, 139.34° in Group Ⅲ, 141.48° in Group Ⅳ, 138.45° in Group Ⅴ, 140.77° in Group Ⅵ and 143.89° in Group Ⅶ. 3. The gonial angie was 125.82° in Group Ⅰ, 123.18° in Group Ⅱ, 124.06° in Group Ⅲ, 120.45° in Group Ⅳ, 121.12° in Group Ⅴ, 121.63° in Group Ⅵ and 121.24° in Group Ⅶ. 4. The position of the menta] foramen was most frequently below the apex of mandibular first premolar in Group Ⅰ (57.2%), between the apex of mandibular first and second premolar in Group Ⅱ (59.6%) and Group Ⅲ (48.9%), and below the apex of mandibular second premolar in Group Ⅳ (39.2%), Group Ⅴ (48.5%) Group Ⅵ(46.6%) and Group Ⅶ(56.4%)

잡음이 있는 3차원 점군 데이터에서 밸브 모델링 및 모델 추출 (Valve Modeling and Model Extraction on 3D Point Cloud data)

  • LIDAR를 이용해서 얻은 3차원 점군 데이터는 작은 물체를 추출하기에는 오차의 영향이 크기 때문에 작은 밸브를 자동으로 추출하는데 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 잡음이 있는 3차원 점군 데이터 사이에서 밸브의 위치 및 방향(Pose)의 정보를 얻는 방법을 제안한다. Pose를 얻기 위해서 밸브가 원환체 모양의 손잡이, 원통 모양의 Rib, 평면 모양의 중심축 평면인 기본 도형으로 이루어진 모델이라고 가정한다. 그리고 밸브의 중심 좌표에 대한 추가적인 입력을 받아서 밸브의 Pose를 추출한다. 중심점을 기준으로 거리에 따른 히스토그램을 생성하고, 히스토그램의 값에 따라 손잡이, Rib, 중심축 평면의 파라미터를 통계적인 방법으로 추출하여 최종 밸브의 Pose를 추출한다. 추출된 밸브의 Pose를 이용하여 3차원 점군 데이터에 밸브의 모형을 각 모양으로 복원한다.

  • This paper presents a 3D object recognition method for generation of 3D environmental map or obstacle recognition of mobile robots. An active light source projects a stripe pattern of light onto the object surface, while the camera observes the projected pattern from its offset point. The system consists of a laser unit and a camera on a pan/tilt device. The line segment in 2D camera image implies an object surface plane. The scaling, filtering, edge extraction, object extraction and line thinning are used for the enhancement of the light stripe image. We can get faithful depth informations of the object surface from the line segment interpretation. The performance of the proposed method has demonstrated in detail through the experiments for varies type objects. Experimental results show that the method has a good position accuracy, effectively eliminates optical noises in the image, greatly reduces memory requirement, and also greatly cut down the image processing time for the 3D object recognition compared to the conventional object recognition.

  • 본 논문에서는 이동물체의 형태정보를 분석을 위한 이동물체의 특징파라미터를 추출하는 기법을 제안하였다. 이차원 영상에서 이동물체의 추출은 차영상 기법을 이용하였다. 이동물체의 특징 파라미터는 면적과 둘레, 면적과 둘레의 비(A/P ratio), 굴곡점(Vertex), 종횡비(X/Y ratio)로 하였다. 휘도 변화를 600 Lux${\sim}$1400 Lux로 가변시켜 휘도변화에 대한 각 특징파라미터의 오차 허용범위를 결정하였다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 모형 자동차를 이용하여 동일성을 판별한 결과 판정오류는 6%미만이었다.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient multi-view images coding algorithm which finds the optimal texture from the restricted number of multi-view images. The X-Y plane of the normalized object space is divided into triangular patches. The depth value of the node is determined by applying the block based disparity compensation method and then the texture of the each patch is extracted by applying the affine transformation patch is extracted by applying the affine transformation based disparity compensation method to the multi-view images. We restricted the number of images contributed to determining the texture comapred to traditional methods which use all the multi-view images in the texture extraction. Experimental results show that the SNR of images encoded by the proposed algorithm is better than that of imaes encoded by the traditional method by the amount about 0.2dB for the test sets of multi-view images called dragon, kid, city and santa. The recovered images from the encoded data by the proposed method show the better visual images than the recovered images from the encoded data by the traditional methods.
