Electra-Optic and Ionic Properties of Twisted Nematic Cells With Different Chiral Pitch

  • We investigated electro-optic and ionic properties of twisted nematic cells by using control of chiral pitch. These properties are observed in practical experiment and simulations. C-V and V-T curve characteristics were obtained from three types of cells with d/p. It is shown that d/p ratio of short cells exhibit faster response time improved by 20% than normal cell. Also, inter-gray response time is improved each rise time and decay time. And, the increase of saturation voltage is happened because of the small twist angel change from initial state at high voltage near 5V. To compensate for longer black level tail, gamma curve index was varied from g = 2.2 to g = 2.7 in module status. Additionally, adding chiral dopant into TN cells improved ionic characteristics such as increasing VHR, Ion density and DC Hysteresis were decreased..

Pyrolyzed Fuel Oil/Coal-tar 혼합원료의 열중합 반응에 따른 Pitch 제조 특성 (Characteristics of Pitch Production of Pyrolyzed Fuel Oil/Coal-tar Blending Feedstock by Thermal Polymerization Reaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 PFO와 Coal-tar의 구조와 열 중합 거동 분석을 통해 PFO와 Coal-tar으로 구성된 혼합 원료의 피치 합성 간 제조 특성을 확인하였다. 원소분석과 FT-IR 분석을 통해, PFO와 Coal-tar 각각 0.355, 0.818로 방향족화도 수치를 확인하였다. 또한, PFO와 Coal-tar의 열중량 분석을 통해 질량 감소곡선의 차이를 확인하였으며, 이러한 현상은 방향족 화도와 관능기 함량에 따른 구조적 안정성에 기인한 것으로 판단된다. 피치 제조 특성은 PFO를 원료로 사용한 피치가 혼합원료로부터 제조된 피치보다 평균적으로 낮은 수율과 높은 연화점을 보임을 확인하였다. 특히 유사한 연화점을 가지는 P360 (138.5 ℃)과 B420 (141.4 ℃)을 비교하였을 때, 두 피치의 탄화수율은 각각 29.89, 49.03 wt%로 Coal-tar가 혼합된 경우 약 20 wt% 향상됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 다량의 알킬기를 포함하여 높은 피치 중합 반응성을 가지는 PFO와 높은 열적 안정성을 가지는 Coal-tar의 혼합에 기인한 것으로 판단된다.

IC 소켓 검사용 다중 채널 측정 시스템 개발 (Development of Multiple Channel Measurement System for IC Socket)

  • 본 논문에서는 초소형 반도체 부품 IC 소켓 검사에 필요한 다중 채널 시험장치를 개발한다. 이 시험장치는 저 저항(수 mΩ급)으로 저전류(수 uA급)~5A 범위의 미세전류상태에서 생산 시스템 요구 규격에 맞는 IC를 다양한 형태로 시험분석을 실행한다. 0.25 mm이하의 리드피치(Lead Pitch)를 가진 IC 소켓 채널수의 증가로 다양한 시험을 동시에 실행해야하는 시험장비는 회로의 고집적화를 위하여 여러 개의 SMU(Source Measure Unit) 보드를 동시에 탑재하도록 구성된다. Daisy chain test method를 통하여 채널지점(Channel Point)당 약 2분 소요되는 시험시간(Test Time)을 40 초(sec) 이내로 단축이 가능하고, 그래픽 기반 인터페이스, 분석 도구(I-V Curve Mode 등) 및 데이터 로깅(Data Logging)을 통한 테스트 플로우 분석을 구현함으로써 시험시간과 소요비용을 절감한다.

공간곡선 벡터에 의한 원통 코일 스프링의 동적 거동 해석 (Dynamic Behavior Analysis of a Helical Coil Spring Using Space Curve Vector)

  • This paper addresses the results of an experimental and analytical research of a helical coil spring subjected to dynamic behavior using space curve vector after considering elongation rate. Vibrations in helical coil spring can be divided into 3 modes such as vibrations of coil spring center axis' vertical direction. axis' horizontal direction, direction about center axis. However. these 3 modes are dependent one another and are characterized as coupled. The dependency was proved through both theoretically and experimentally analyzing the results of dynamic characteristics of coil spring center axis' vertical direction vibration by transfer matrix method using the governing equation of static equilibrium. Also this paper shows that pitch angle and active coils in coil spring affect the dynamic spring characteristics of the above 3 modes and are especially sensitive to the mode for vibration of axis' horizontal direction which most affects especially on dynamo stability of helical coil spring.

쿼드로터 블레이드의 공력특성 (Aerodynamics Characteristics of Quad-Rotor Blade)

  • Quad-Rotor, which consists of four blades, performs a flight task by controling each rotation speed of the four blades. Quad-Rotor blade making no use of cyclic pitch or collective one is a type of fixed-wing as different from helicopter blade. Although, Quad-Rotor is simple and easy to control for those reasons, blade configuration of the fixed wing is one of the critical factors in determining the performance of Quad-Rotor. In the present study, coefficients for thrust and power of Quad-Rotor blade were derived from the data acquired by using 6-component balances. Firstly, Measurements for aerodynamic force were conducted at various pitch angles (i.e., from 0$^{\circ}$ to 90$^{\circ}$ with the interval of 10$^{\circ}$). The blade used in this experiment has aspect ratio of 6 and chord length of 35.5 mm. Secondly, assembled-blade, which was an integral blade but divided into many pieces, was used in order to test aerodynamic forces along twist angles. The curve of thrust coefficient along pitch angle indicates a parabola form. Stall which occurs during wind tunnel test to calculate lift coefficient of airfoil does not generate. When deciding the blade twist angle, structural stability of blade should be considered together with coefficients of thrust and power. Those aerodynamic force data based on experimental study will be provided as a firm basis for the design of brand-new Quad-Rotor blade.

직선형 5공 압력프로브를 이용한 3차원 유동속도 계측시스템 개발 (Measurement System Development for Three-Dimensional Flow Velocity Components Using Straight-Type Five-Hole Pressure Probe)

  • This paper shows the development process of a straight-type five-hole pressure probe for measuring three-dimensional flow velocity components. The data reduction method using a bi-cubic curve-fitting program in a new calibration map was introduced in this study. This new calibration map can be applied up to the application angle, ${\pm}55^{\circ}$ of a probe. As a result, for the application angle of ${\pm}45^{\circ}$, an error for yaw and pitch angles appeared from $-1.76^{\circ}\;to\;1.83^{\circ}$ and from $-1.91^{\circ}\;to\;1.75^{\circ}$, respectively. Moreover, an error for a vector magnitude and a static pressure compared with a dynamic one showed from -7.83% to 4.87% and from -0.73 to 0.77, respectively. Even though this data reduction method showed unsatisfactory errors in a vector magnitude, it resulted in an easy and simple application method. Especially, when it was applied to an actual flow field including a swirling flow, a good result came out on the whole. However, in order to obtain a better result, it is thought that a more sophisticated interpolation method needs to be introduced.

저마찰을 위한 Micro-Scale Surface Texturing의 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Micro-Scale Surface Texturing for Friction Reduction)

  • The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of surface texturing on reduction friction and to understand the potential of friction reduction through micro-scale dimple to fabricate by photolithography on pin-on-disk test using flat-on-flat contact geometry. It was verify that the friction property with respect to the same pitch has been influence on the size of dimple under lubricated sliding contact. Also, we can recognize from Stribeck curve that the friction property has a connection with the size of dimple. It can explain a relationship between the friction coefficient and a dimensionless parameter for lubrication condition. The friction property has been an effect on the size of surface texture on reduction friction, not only because the density of dimple, but also because the ratio of diameter/pitch. This ratio of approximately 0.5 recommend under the tested friction condition. It suggested that the ratio of d/p is an important parameter for surface texture design.

Frequency domain analysis of Froude-Krylov and diffraction forces on TLP

  • Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is a floating structure that consists of four columns with large diameter. The diffraction theory is used to calculate the wave force of floating structures with large dimensions (TLP). In this study, the diffraction and Froude-Krylov wave forces of TLP for surge, sway and heave motions and wave force moment for roll, pitch degrees of freedom in different wave periods and three wave approach angles have been investigated. From the numerical results, it can be concluded that the wave force for different wave approach angle is different. There are some humps and hollows in the curve of wave forces and moment in different wave periods (different wavelengths). When wave incidents with angle 0 degree, the moment of diffraction force for pitch in high wave periods (low frequencies) is dominant. The diffraction force for heave in low wave periods (high wave frequencies) is dominant. The phase difference between Froude-Krylov and diffraction forces is important to obtain total wave force.
