A study on the behavior of the piston with varying friction force in the double cylinder-typed extension gas spring (2중 실린더 구조를 갖는 인장 가스스프링의 마찰력 변화에 따른 피스톤 거동에 대한 연구)

  • The function of gas springs is based on the compression of a gas. They are used in a wide variety of industries, and demand for them is increasing. Gas springs can be divided into compression and extension springs. Extension springs have not been studied much in relation to control of the piston speed, unlike compression springs. In this study, the magnitude of the piston rebound pressure was theoretically predicted by calculating the pressure loss in a double-cylinder extension gas spring. Numerical simulations of the piston behavior were carried out for small and large amounts of friction between the piston and the cylinder. FLUENT was used for the simulation with a 6-DOF model and UDF to simulate the behavior of the piston. The calculation regions of the front and rear of the piston were separated, and different types of grids were generated in the regions to implement a dynamic mesh using only a layering method. The results show that the piston returns with the target speed in both cases. However, the patterns of the piston behavior reaching the final speed are different.

User by this principle is capable of elevation adjustment. First carried out a flow analysis of the piston. A piston speed adjustment technique for precise pipe type cross-section was examined. The piston structure for flow rate control and elevation action is proposed. This study is the development of a gas spring of more than 50 inch television with a large television stand. Hollow piston rod for optimal control(the outer diameter 19.9 mm, the inner diameter 13.9 mm) was injected into the nitrogen gas(0.3 mm/s) in. As a result, the flow rate the pressure drop of the piston rod as the increase was increased without any change of the external force. As a result, control of the displacement via the gas spring is possible.

  • In this paper, a linear motor stroke controller using a phase lag filter and a single phase PWM inverter with a current controller has been implemented. In order to control the cooling capability of a refrigerator or an air conditioner in which linear compressors are applied, the piston speed should be controlled. The piston speed control can be obtained by adjusting the frequency or the stroke of linear motors. Generally, the frequency is fixed, for example, as 60Hz and the stroke is adjusted. The dynamic performance of linear compressors depends on how accurately the stroke or the piston position is controlled by the current applied. A linear motor piston position controller with a current control loop is proposed and verified via some simulation studies.

  • The closed circuit pump is applied to control rotating speed and direction of hydraulic motor in hydrostatic transmission. To development of this pump, first of all the servo control regulator has to be designed. Mechanical-hydraulic type servo control mechanism is excellent to be compared with electronic-hydraulic type servo control valve to reliability and economy. In this paper to development positive and negative variable displacement type servo regulator, the hydro-mechanical servo control mechanism is calculated and designed with force balance of pilot piston and position feedback of servo piston.

  • Variable displacement axial piston pumps are widely used for raising the energy level of the fluid in hydraulic systems. And the regulator is the device which regulates the discharge flow of the piston pump by controlling the swivel angle. The regulator receives the hydraulic pilot pressure and controls the pump output flow depending on the machine load and engine speed. This work deals with constant power control (horsepower control) in the design of a regulator by using a bent-axis type piston pump. In order to effectively use engine power, we must keep the horsepower from the engine to the pump constant. Therefore the regulator operates the constant power control. As a result, optimum power usage is obtained by accurately following the power hyperbola. This study focused on developing a simulation model of a regulator. First, the governing equations of the regulator are derived, and analysis is performed by computer simulation, which can identify significant parameters of regulator. As a result, the variation of the swivel angle, flow rate, hyperbolic curve, inner leakage and responsibility are simulated, and significant parameters of a regulator are identified.

A Study on the Meter-Out and Meter-In Speed Control Characteristics in Pneumatic Cushion Cylinders (공기압 쿠션 실린더의 미터아웃/미터인 속도제어 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Pneumatic cylinders are widely used to actuators in automatic equipments because they are relatively inexpensive, simple to install and maintain, offer robust design and operation, are available in a wide range of standard sizes and design alternatives. This paper presents a comparative study among the dynamic characteristics of meter-out and meter-in speed control of pneumatic cushion cylinders with a relief valve type cushion mechanism. Because of the nonlinear differential equations and a requirement for simultaneous iterative solution in a mathematical model of a double acting pneumatic cushion cylinder, a computer simulation is carried out to investigate pressure, temperature, mass flow rate in cushion chamber and displacement and velocity time histories of piston under various operating conditions. It is found that the piston velocity and pressure response in meter-in speed control are more oscillatory than with meter-out those when pneumatic cushion cylinders are driven at a high-speed. In meter-out speed control, the effective area of the flow control valve is larger than that of meter-in, and the supply pressure has to be much higher than the pressure required to move the load because it has also to overcome the back pressure in cushion chamber.

  • The existing Swash Plate Type Axial Piston Motor rapidly drops efficiency at high speed in comparison with low speed. This is the reason why the motor was designed only in a viewpoint of minimum of power supply. But, in this paper, the motor which was optimally designed in a veiwpoint not only power supply but also load capacitancy, flow loss volume, axial stiffness and tilting stiffness keeps up high efficiency at high speed.

Reduction of Power Consumption for Constant Pressure Control of Variable Swash Plate-type Piston Pump by Varying the Pump Speed (가변 용적형 사판식 피스톤 펌프의 회전 속도 조절에 의한 정압 제어 소비 동력 절감)

  • This paper proposes a control scheme to reduce the power consumption of a variable displacement swash-plate type piston pump supplying oil to a valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder at constant pressure. Whenever flow rate demand was absent, the swash plate angle and the pump speed were changed to the minimum values required to compensate for the internal leakage flow. In response to command signals, the pump speed was changed in proportion to the absolute mean value of the speed component for position commands. At the same time, a pressure regulator was activated to maintain constant system pressure by precisely adjusting the pump speed with the swash plate angle fixed at the maximum. The conventional system consisting of a pressure-compensated variable displacement type pump is driven at a constant speed of 1,800rpm. By comparison, computer simulation and experimental results showed that idling power at stand-by status could be reduced by up to 70% by reducing the pump speed from 1,800rpm to 300rpm and the swash plate angle to the minimum.

  • The purpose of this study si the development of a lathe which can cut any pistons of oval shape with high seed, accuracy and precision by CNC (Computer Numerical Control) method. Yaxis which is the position determinating mechanism with high speed response was added to the CNC lathe and the ovality and profile was cut under the control of C-Y-Z axes at same tile. In the case of ovality of $\Phi$ improved up to 2500rpm(Y axis : 83Hz) by high speed cutting than modeling method. Since a personal computer is used, it is easy to change the shape of piston and can be applied promptly to many types of piston shape by only changing data files.
