수중청음기용 Piezoceramics/Polymer 3-3 Composites의 유전 및 압전 특성 (Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of Piezoceramics/Polymer 3-3 Composites for Hydrophone Applications)

  • In this study, piezoceramics/polymer composites with 3-3 connectivity were made by BURPS(Burnout Plastic Sphere) technique with PZT ceramics and PMMA sphere(50 - 80${\mu}m$). And the dielectric and piezoelectric properties dependent on the PZT vol.% were investigated. The dielectric constant($K_{33}$) of 3-3 composites is increased almost linearly with increasing the PZT vol.%, while piezoelectric coefficient($d_{33}$) is slightly increased.

저온소결 (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3계 세라믹스의 미세구조 및 압전특성 (Microstructure and Piezoelectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3 Ceramics)

  • In this paper, piezoelectric ceramics with the composition of $(Na_{0.525}K_{0.4425}Li_{0.0375})(Nb_{0.8975}Sb_{0.065}Ta_{0.0375})O_3+0.3wt%\;CoO+x\;CuO$ ($0.005{\leq}x{\leq}0.025$) (abbreviated to NKL-NST) were fabricated for ultrasonic sensor application. The effects of CuO addition and sintering on the microstructure and the piezoelectric properties of the NKL-NST ceramics were systematically studied. Excellent piezoelectric properties such as electromchanical coupling $factor(k_p)=0.415$, piezoelectric constant $(d_{33})=166pC/N$ and piezoelectric figure of merit $d_{{33}*}g_{33}=5.47pm^2/N$ were obtained from the 2.5 mol% CuO doped NKL-NST+0.3 wt%CoO ceramics sintered at $1,000^{\circ}C$ for 3 h.

  • Orthorhombic $Ba(Ti_{0.94}Zr_{0.06})O_3$ single crystals are fabricated using the cost-effective solid-state single crystal growth (SSCG) method; their dielectric and piezoelectric properties are also characterized. Measurements show that (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.94}Zr_{0.06})O_3$ single crystals have an electromechanical coupling factor ($k_{33}$) higher than 0.83, piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$) of about 400 [pC/N], and piezoelectric voltage constant ($g_{33}$) higher than 50 [${\times}10^{-3}Vm/N$]. The transition temperature ($T_{OT}$) of the (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.94}Zr_{0.06})O_3$ single crystals between orthorhombic and tetragonal phases is also observed to be about $61^{\circ}C$. Because their electromechanical coupling factor ($k_{33}$) and piezoelectric voltage constant ($g_{33}$) are higher than those of soft PZT ceramics, it is expected that (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.94}Zr_{0.06})O_3$ single crystals can be used as "lead-free" piezoelectric materials in many piezoelectric applications.

  • Lead-free piezoelectric ($Na_{1/2}K_{1/2}$)$NbO_3$ ceramics doped with CuO and $MnO_2$ were fabricated using the conventional oxide-mixing technique. With increasing content of CuO and $MnO_2$, the dielectric constant(${\varepsilon}_{33}$) and mechanical quality factor($Q_m$) value increased, while electromechanical coupling factor($K_p$) and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) decreased. The piezoelectric and dielectric properties ($Na_{1/2}K_{1/2}$)$NbO_3$ ceramics doped with CuO 2.461 wt% and $MnO_2$ 0.538 wt% at sintered temperature $1050\;^{\circ}C$ were attained ${\varepsilon}_{33}$ = 403, $K_p$ = 15, $Q_m$ = 122 and $d_{33}$ = 36 pC/N. Based on response surface methodology results using design of experiment, it was concluded that ($Na_{1/2}K_{1/2}$)$NbO_3$ doped with CuO 0.477 wt% and $MnO_2$ 0.269 wt% has possibility composition of being used for piezoelectric transformer.

ZnO가 PMN-PNN-PZT 세라믹스의 저온소결에 미치는 영향 (Effect of ZnO on Low Temperature Sintering of PMN-PNN-PZT Ceramics)

  • In this study, in order to develop multilayer ceramic actuator for ultrasonic nozzle and ultrasonic vibrator, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated using $Li_2CO_3$. $Na_2CO_3$ and ZnO as sintering aids. And then, their piezoelectric and dielectric properties according to the amount of ZnO addition were investigated. The addition of ZnO improved density, dielectric constant, electromechanical coupling factor, mechanical quality factor and piezoelectric d constant of PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics due to the increase of sinterability and accepter doping effect. Electromechanical coupling factor and mechanical quality factor of PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics increased with ZnO amount up to 0.4wt% and then decreased. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ and 0.4wt% ZnO addition, density, dielectric constant, electromechanical coupling factor, mechanical quality factor and piezoelectric d constant showed the optimum value of 7.876g/$cm^2$, 1299, 0.612, 1151 and 369pC/N, respectively.

  • In this paper, the influences of poling electric field on piezoelectric properties of $0.95(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3$-$0.05Li(Sb_{0.8}Nb_{0.2})O_3$ (abbreviated as KNN-LSN) ceramics were investigated. The specimens was sintered at sintering temperature of $1050^{\circ}C$. They showed orthorhombic phase structure without secondary phase. Electromechanical coupling factor (kp), dielectric and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) increased with poling electric field. However, mechanical quality factor (Qm) decreased. Take into account of poling conditions and piezoelectric properties of KNN-LSN ceramics, the optimum poling condition for KNN-LSN ceramics was poling electric field of 4.5 kV/mm. At the time, kp of 0.458, Qm of 43.97, $d_{33}$ of 278 pC/N, and dielectric constant of 1079 were shown, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop the composition ceramics of lead-free ultrasonic motor, (Na,Li)$NbO_3-BaTiO_3$ ceramics were fabricated using a conventional mixed oxide process and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the $BaTiO_3$, substitution. $BaTiO_3$ substitution enhanced density, dielectric constants$({\varepsilon}_r)$ and electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$. However, mechanical quality factor was deteriorated. At the $BaTiO_3$ substitution of 4mol%, density, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, dielectric constants$({\varepsilon}_r)$ and piezoelectric constant$(d_{33})$ of specimen showed the optimum value of $4.493g/cm^3$, 0.236, 175, 70pC/N, respectively.

  • (1-X) $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-X$ $K_4CuNb_8O_{23}$ (NKN-X KCN) ceramics were produced using the conventional solid state sintering method, and their sinterability and electric properties were investigated. The density, dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$), piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$, electromechanical coupling factor $k_p$ and mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value of the NKN ceramics depended upon the KCN content and the sintering temperature. In particular, the KCN addition to the NKN greatly improved the mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value. The ceramic with X = 2.0 mol% sintered at $1,150^{\circ}C$ possesses the optimum properties (${\varepsilon}_r=241$, $d_{33}=78$, $k_p=0.34$ and $Q_m=1,121$). These results indicate that the ceramic is a promising candidate material for applications in lead free piezoelectric transformer and filter materials.

  • Crystallographically {h00}-oriented $0.94(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_{3}-0.06BaTiO_{3}$ (0.94BNT-0.06BT) ceramics was prepared by the Reactive Templated Grain Growth (RTGG) method using the $Bi_{4}Ti_{3}O_{12}$ template. The sheets prepared by tape-casting of slurries containing the templates and starting materials are cut, laminated, and pressed. Then burn-out and sintering was conducted. Also, to compare with the 0.94BNT-0.06BT ceramics prepared by the RTGG method another 0.94BNT-0.06BT ceramics was prepared by the solid-state method. In the optimum of this experiments range, the degree of orientation of the 0.94BNT-0.06BT ceramics prepared by the RTGG method was texture fraction${\approx}92%$ and the piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) and coupling factor($k_{p}$) was obtained to $d_{33}{\approx}205{\;}pC/N$, $k_{p}{\approx}0.33%$, respectively.

  • In this paper, piezoelectric composite materials of 1-3 connectivity were prepared by using "dicing-filling" technique with PZT ceramics and epoxy polymers, and the dependence of piezoelectric properties on the thickness of specimens was investigated. In case that the PZT volume percent is 18.1%, according to an increment of thickness, the dielectric constant of composites( 33) is unchangeable, which is about 200, the piezoelectric coefficient (d33) is somewhat increased, which is about 240-280 (PC/N) and the electromechanical coupling factor of thickness mode(kt) is proportioned, but radial mode(kp) is constant.
