Purpose: Recently, Housing area plan has tried to reflect a public space of various forms. However, most of cases are indiscriminately developments, which don't reflect the diverse needs of residents. In addition, a subject of the public space is not clear and consistently stable of the management, so the residents don't have an interest enough to take advantage of it. Method: In order to make a plan of the public space of a residential complex, an architect designer needs to take a few things into consideration. One is a physical facility in needs. And other one is a management of keeping a social place stably and consistently, which allows residents to be able to interact with each other. It should be regarded for residents to form a sense of belonging, while minimizing the interface friction. When all these problems are fulfilled, an interaction will be made to improve the quality of the living environment. Result: Therefore, in this study, it is necessary to define the meaning of territoriality of the external public space of housing complex. This study makes it possible to improve the relationship of neighborhood and the quality of the life for the residents, depending on the time. This is the first step as 'the research for the territoriality of the external public space of housing complex', in order to define about the concept, function, characteristic of territory(the base of territoriality) and to establish the territoriality that can form the physical or psychological boundary in public space.
In these days, space design is evolving to the mixed reality space where fused on-line and off-line. But, standard and measure of mixed reality space has not been suggested and there has been little research about media environment and expression method as a mixed system either. That's why here I suggest four media environments and their characteristics that act not only as a critical point in the mixed reality space based on ubiquitous technology but also as a standard for spatial discerning. 1) Real space that is a media environment only seen by human visual and tactical sense is evolving using expression methods like new materials based on digital technology and LED. 2) Augmented reality space is a media environment using information instruments is expressed with diverse 2D and 3D contents. 3) Cyber Space is a environment depends totally on media instruments is produced by perfect graphic information without any spatial and physical limitations. 4) Augmented cyber space is realized only through the displays in cyber studio and is a space where real objects and graphic information are mixed. Depending on the purpose of the experience, media environment and expressional characteristics of mixed reality space can be fused, blended, and mixed, and that can be realized to the intelligent information space where one can experience without spatial, visual, informational limitations. In the future, studies on physical characteristics of contents according to the media environment characteristics are necessary.
The society changes very fast from the extended family system to the nuclear family system, as increasing a one-child family for the low birth-rate. Thus, it causes that the education, having been performed inside of the family group, is performed outside of the family nowadays such as an infant educational institution. Fundamentally, the space of educating infants must be considered their behavior and meet their needs. For infants, playing is not only studying, but also is related to physical, intellectual and emotional development. Therefore infants in a qualifiedly good playing environment, are easy to focus on their playing. But, variety of playing activities can help improve infants' development physically, socially, emotionally, linguistically and intellectually. So far, an infant educational institution has provided a general education than a special educationally considering their age and status of a development. However, it is necessary to provide an integrated and well-organized place for each infant because their playing is a studying and education that will be based of individuals' character when they are grown up. The objective of this thesis is to study on the new transition space for infants of their physical activities. For this study, at first, it is important to understand what are the points of well-built kindergarten around the world. They have the flexible space in common. The transition(flexible) space will be a solution for space for infants' development.
The object of this study is upper class house in Yang-dong village with the purpose of spatial-sociological study of traditional Korean architecture. Space is the basic element of architecture and is fundamental for understanding architecture. Space, however, can be better understood through its social context rather than through its physical or psychological attributes. Space exists in a society, providing the physical environment which frames it Social environment affects the thoght of people who are members of that society. Space is built by the people in a society and is affected by their thought. Spatial-sociological study can explain a mutual relation between people and space through context. It defines characteristics of space based on mutual relations which exist among the people, the culture of society and the environment of society but also having a sociological component, study of architectural space should consider the social context. Since architectural space is built on social and cultural bases, to understand it requires various methods of study Spatial-sociological analysis is one alternative. Using space syntax, this study analyzes houses in Yang-dong village by not only defining attributes of individual houses, but also common attributes of houses in the village. Based on common attributes of houses in the village, the attributes of Yang-dong village houses can be re-defined within the social context. the results from a spatial-sociological analysis of upper class housing of the Yang-dong village are as follows; (1) Related to confucian ideas in Chosun Dynasty : A house has a dualistic center organized with 'an-chae' and 'sarang-chae'. 'an-chae' space is organized unsociably from outside. (2) Related to various space pattern of Yang-dong village House in the Chosun Dynasty period :As variations in the types of space pattern, the village house exhibit different attributes.
This study aims to recognize the importance of the outdoor environment for the improvement in the residents' quality of life and analyze residents' outdoor behavior(physical and psychological) pattern in terms of relation to outdoor environment in Multi-Housing Complexes. Our survey was performed to the residents of 6 Multi-Housing Complexes located in Pusan, and analyzed residents' consciousness, use and evaluation in relation to outdoor space according to the characteristics of the Multi-Housing Complexes. The results are as follows: l. The outdoor space is classified into resting space, green space, parking space, play space and sport space. Most of residents recognize that green space and parking space are the most important of the outdoor space. 2. Mainly, wives use for stroll and talk, husbands use for sports and stroll, and children use for sports and play. 3. The parking space is the highest score and sport space is the lowest score according to the residents' evaluation of the outdoor space, and yet sport space must be considered in planning of outdoor space because the residents' needs are high.

The library space has historically been influenced by the change of its information and social environment. This paper describes the effect of ubiquitous environment on the library's space, by literature review, case analysis. and focus-group interview of 5 undergraduate students. The results show that the library's physical place is still important for users, and suggest the library information space design and management need to reflect the open-ness and the interactive-ness of the ubiquitous space.

Recently, with the ourdoor air pollution, the indoor air pollution devided into living environment and working environment are raised as the problem of indoor space. Also, the more time lived in indoor space, the larger the influence of indoor air pollution. Therefore in this study, the spatial variation of ventilation efficiency was estimated through the experiment using a physical model. The experiment using a physical model. The experiment was conducted in two category; the central zone of ventilated air flow and the corner zone. As the result of experiment, high ventilation efficiency (90$\sim$108%) was shown in the central zone of ventilated air flow. Whereas low ventilation efficiency (46$\sim$77%) was shown in the corner zone. In conclusion, when the designing of ventilation was planned, the zone showed low ventilation efficiency should be considered.
With today's new media environment throughout Ubiquitous information innovation, live and dynamic fluid space is being created by integrating organic integration between electronic space and physical space and transplanting intelligence to materials. In other words, perception occurs in fluid space itself in a new media environment so has complicatedly organic relationship with environment and humans. In addition, emotion, time and movement have actively attempted to enter the space so designs appealing to humans' emotions are made through stimulation of synaesthetic sensory organs. This can be understood in the same context that media is eventually expansion of human body. Fluid space has characteristics of a live organism with factors such as sensor, perception and behavior so it needs to interpret perceptual system relationally and synthetically through an organic study method. This study looks into characteristics of organic perceptual system in terms of the meaning that fluid space with movements have as the sensory-perceptive subject and accordingly makes the world more sufficient as the third space, prepares a possibility to get out of limited five senses, and will develop fluid space as the organic environment making stimulation by itself.

In modem buildings, the concept of open-space plan gets more acceptance as it supports more flexibility for the internal space design. This open-space can be easily subdivided by internal partitioning to provide each individual working zone. Although the partitioning forms each physical working zone, its indoor environment could be different Iron what the occupants require. Especially the air movement and contaminant spread in each working zone could be blocked or distorted by the partitioning, which may produce unexpected change in ventilation performance designed. The purpose of this study was to analyze the environment of poverty children as reported by the children on a questionnaire. The conception of the environment was divided into the physical environment and the sociopsychological environment. The dimensions of the physical environment included household, cultural, and play conditions. The sociopsychological environment included structural (family values, family relationships, and the reinforcement system) and process variables(affect, care, and communication). For the purpose of this survey was administered to 122 children living in a poverty area and 102 children living in a middle-high income area. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, distribution, percentile, mean and one-way ANOVA. Major findings showed that (1) The physical environment as reported by the poverty children was meager compared with that of children in the middle-high income area: the households were more overcrowded, and cultural conditions, play materials, and space was more limited. (2) The Structural conditions of the sociopsychological environment as perceived by poverty children were more material and physical than that of children in the middle-high income area: family values were oriented more toward materialism: family relationships were more negative and distant: and the reinforcement system was based more on material reward and physical punishment. (3) Process variables were perceived by poverty children as more laissez-faire and rigid; the parents neglected their children and communicated unilaterally more than the middle-high income parents. (4) Poverty children's perception of the causes of poverty and wealth were perceived as personal and social factors.
