  • This study is carried out in order to investigate to the physical property of Castella. The material is 19 kinds of Castella on the market in Kyushu area.As an result of the sensory evaluation for Castella, it could be classified into 3 types ; a) high grade, C) low grade, and B) midium grade. The results are summarized as follow. The water content of 3 type Castella was most 26-30% but Korea's was more lower . ΔE of A an dB type Castella was similiar , but A and C types was very different. in the Creep test, 3 types are all the 6-element Voigt model, consisting of Hookean body , Newtonian body and two sets of Voigt body. Eo of A type is 13-36% higher than other types. The parts of retardation strain of A type are 21-41% lower than B type, 8-13% higher than C type, respectively.

  • Recently, The economic growth has increased carbon dioxide emissions. so, It is caused by social problem to environmental damage and human health due to global warming. Accordingly, The method solution is to the amount of cement and to use industrial by-product such as Blast furnace slag, Fly Ash, and Red-mud. Thus, The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical property of concrete with red-mud. So, this study carries out the basic performance test of concrete such as, air content, slump, and compressive strength. In this work test is conducted according to sequence of materials using concrete twin mixer.

  • The layered semiconductors $Bi_2O_2Q$ (Q = S, Se) consists of $Bi_2O_2$ layers sandwiched by Q square nets. On the basis of density functional theory calculations, we examined the thermoelectric properties of $Bi_2O_2S$, $Bi_2O_2Se$ as well as hypothetical structure of $Bi_2O_2$($S_{0.5}Se_{0.5}$) consisting of mixed chalcogen nets. The thermoelectric power factor of $Bi_2O_2S_{0.5}Se_{0.5}$ is much greater than those of $Bi_2O_2S$ and $Bi_2O_2Se$, suggesting that introducing mixed chalcogen net in $Bi_2O_2Q$ is a possible way of enhancing the thermoelectric property of $Bi_2O_2Q$.

  • Radioactive wastes arising from a wide range of human activities are in many different physical and chemical forms, contaminated with varying radioactivity. Their common feature is the potential hazard associated with their radioactivity and the need to manage them in such a way as to protect the human environment. The geological disposal is regarded as the most reasonable and effective way to safely disposal high-level radioactive wastes in the world. The conceptual model of geological disposal in China is based on a multi-barrier system that combines an isolating geological environment with an engineered barrier system. The buffer is one of the main engineered barriers for HLW repository. The buffer material is expected to maintain its low water permeability, self-sealing property, radio nuclides adsorption and retardation property, thermal conductivity, chemical buffering property, overpack supporting property, stress buffering property over a long period of time. Benotite is selected as the main content of buffer material that can satisfy above. GMZ deposit is selected as the candidate supplier for Chinese buffer material of High Level Radioactive waste repository. This paper presents geological features of GMZ deposit and basic property of GMZ Na bentonite. GMZ bentonite deposit is a super large scale deposits with high content of Montmorillonite (about $75\%$) and GMZ-l, which is Na-bentonite produced from GMZ deposit is selected as reference material for Chinese buffer material study.
