The paper presents a method of assessing the adequate tapaclty of photovoltaic generation systems for public buildings based on analysis of load variation patterns of customers. When PV systems are installed for supplying power for the customer load, reverse power relay is required by the guideline to be installed at the point of common coupling with the power network. The suggested method analyzes daily, weekly and monthly load demand of the customer that Irishes PV system installation, and determines the appropriate rating of the PV system for preventing PV generation from exceeding the customer demand. This work is expected to support renewable energy dissemination projects of public organizations.
Actual system apparatuses are necessary in order to verify the efficiency and stability of photovoltaic(PV) generation systems considering the size of solar panel, the sort of converter type, and the load conditions and so on. Moreover, it is hardly possible to compare a certain MPPT control scheme with others under the exactly same weather and load conditions as well. For the purpose of solving above mentioned difficulties in a laboratory basis, a transient simulation of PV generation system using real field weather conditions is indispensable. A straightforward simulation scheme with cost effective hardware structures under real weather conditions is proposed in this paper using EMTDC type of transient analysis simulators. Firstly, a solar cell has been modeled with VI characteristic equations, and then the real field data of weather conditions are interfaced to the EMTDC through Fortran program interface method. As a result, the stability and the efficiency analysis of PV generation systems according to various hardware structures and MPPT controls are easily possible under the exactly same weather conditions.

In this paper, we propose to study the possibility of using a photovoltaic system combined with a high speed micro-turbine. This hybrid system can work as stand-alone system or grid connected system as it will be a part of a micro-grid. Initially, we propose Matlab/Simulink dynamic models of photovoltaic, micro turbine systems and supercapacitor. Then, we carry out a simulation comparison of the two systems, this is, with supercapacitor and without supercapacitor bank. We show that supercapacitor bank as short-term storage device was necessary to reduce the fast fluctuation of power in the case of sensitive loads. It is verified the simulation results of Matlab/Simulink based hybrid power system represent the effectiveness of the suggested hybrid power system.
Knowledge of the solar radiation components are essential for modeling many solar photovoltaic systems. This is particularly the case for applications that concentrate the incident energy to attain high photo-dynamic efficiency achievable only at the higher intensities. In order to estimate the performance of concentrating PV systems, it is necessary to know the intensity of the beam radiation, as only this component can be concentrated. The Korea Institute of Energy Research(KIER) has began collecting solar radiation component data since August, 1996. KIER's component data will be extensively used by concentrating PV system users or designers as well as by research institutes.
Nowadays, domestic photovoltaic system market has been expanded and the governmental dissemination policy has been continued. There is only PV system output performance analysis which is called Performance Ratio(PR) analysis. However, there exists many parameters that can affect PV system output. This papers shows the PV system energy performance analysis using meteorological monitoring data. The meteorological monitoring system was installed in the H university and we analyzed the PV system which installed in the H university. We also investigated other three PV systems which located less than 3 kilometers from H university. We evaluated total 4 PV systems through the field survey data, design drawing data and power generation data. Finally, we compared the actual measuring data with the simulation data using PVSYST software.

A highly efficient MOSFET inverter for single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems is presented in this paper. It is a full-MOSFET version of the conventional transformerless full-bridge inverter with dual L-C filters using unipolar PWM. The key idea lies on smart pre switching(SPS), which can make the large switching loss due to a poor reverse recovery of the MOSFET's body diode reduced dramatically. The validity of the proposed inverter is verified by experiment.
The current-voltage modeling plays an important role in characterizing photovoltaic systems. A solar cell has a nonlinear characteristic with various parameters influenced by the external environments such as the irradiance and the temperature. In order to accurately predict current-voltage characteristics at low irradiance, the artificial neural networks are applied to effectively quantify nonlinear behaviors. In this paper, a multi-layer perceptron scheme that can make accurate predictions is employed to learn complex formulas for large amounts of continuous data. The simulated results of artificial neural networks model show the accuracy improvement by using MATLAB/Simulink.

In October 2011, a commercialized 100kW class floating photovoltaic system positive plant was installed at Hapcheon dam a multi-purpose reservoir the first time ever in the nation. Floating photovoltaic system differs in water float, mooring device and underwater cable process from land photovoltaic system. As for land and building photovoltaic power generation equipments, many installation cases and skilled experiences are available, and thus installation is not difficult. However, commercial power generation floating photovoltaic system, which is attempted for the first time in the nation, requires to be designed and installed through a series of processes like technical review and verification of data by process in comparison with similar cases. The structure of floating photovoltaic system, an equipment for float photovoltaic module and other electrical equipment, is required to withstand weather environments like wind or typhoon etc and yet not affect water quality negatively, and for implementation of this system, construction efficiency and economy etc should be considered comprehensively. In this paper, the techniques of installing floating photovoltaic structure, mooring device, underwater cable, electrical equipment and remote monitoring control system are explained. The 100kW floating PV system is operating with 15% average capacity factor.

In this paper, we have predicted and analyzed the MSX 60 photovoltaic module's output according to the temperature and solar radiation conditions by MATLAB program. 2 and 3-dimensional I-V curves of the PV module considered temperature, series resistance and solar radiation variation. are shown. Also, calculated PV's electrical parameters are Isc = 3.8 A, Voc = 21 V, Pmax = 60 W. Compared with the actual photovoltaic module's data, these simulated results agreed well with within the manufacturer's maximum error range 3%.

This paper desclibes a design method and test results of grid-connected photovoltaic power 당eneration s systems, which consists of solar cells, DCI AC inverter, utility grid. A 50 kW photovoltaic power generation s system including a 3-phase DCI AC inverter is designed and made in order to investigate the system l pelionnance for glid connection. Also the control scheme of a three phase cmrent-controlled PWM inverter W with PI controller is presented by using d-q transformation. The experimental waveforms show that the p proposed system has stable behavior with em unit power factor in utility-interactive operation.
