The main purpose of this study is to design and develop the information display device for power conditioning system of photovoltaic power generation system. The function of this device is to display the information, communicate with PCS controller and store the special information. The developed device is tested to verify the performance and experimental results show the excellent performance. An actual running test is being carried out to verify the reliability of the device including PCS by applying it to 10kW level photovoltaic power generation system established in Ulsan College.
This paper proposes a high efficiency three-phase cascaded phase shifted H-bridge multi-level inverter without DC/DC converters for grid-tied multi string photovoltaic (PV) applications. The cascaded H-bridge topology is suitable for PV applications since each PV module can act as a separate DC source for each cascaded H-bridge module. The proposed phase shifted H-bridge multi-level topology offers advantages such as operation at a lower switching frequency and a lower current ripple when compared to conventional two level topologies. It is also shown that low ripple sinusoidal current waveforms are generated with a unity power factor. The control algorithm permits the independent control of each DC link voltage with a maximum power point for each string of PV modules. The use of the controller area network (CAN) communication protocol for H-bridge multi-level inverters, along with localized PWM generation and PV voltage regulation are implemented. It is also shown that the expansion and modularization capabilities of the H-bridge modules are improved since the individual inverter modules operate more independently. The proposed topology is implemented for a three phase 240kW multi-level PV power conditioning system (PCS) which has 40kW H-bridge modules. The experimental results show that the proposed topology has good performance.
In this paper, design and control is proposed for a four input-series-output-series-connected ZVS full bridge converter for the photovoltaic power conditioning system (PCS). The novel topology for a photovoltaic (PV) DC/DC converter that can dramatically reduce the power rating and increase the efficiency of a PV system by analyzing PV module characteristics is proposed. The control scheme, including an input voltage controller is proposed to achieve equal sharing of the input voltage as well output voltages by a four series connected module. Design methods for ZVS power stage are also introduced. The total PV system is implemented for a 250-kW PV power conditioning system (PCS). This system has only three DC/DC converters with a 25-kW power rating and uses only one-third of the total PV PCS power. The 25-kW prototype PV DC/DC converter is introduced to verify experimentally the proposed topology. In addition, an experimental result shows that the proposed topology exhibits good performance.

This paper proposes a series-connected power conversion system that integrates a photovoltaic power conditioner and a charge-balancing circuit. In conventional methods, a photovoltaic power conditioner and a cell-balancing circuit are needed for photovoltaic systems with energy storage devices, which results in a complex configuration and high cost. To overcome these problems, a series-connected DC-DC power conditioning system that integrates a photovoltaic power conditioner with a charge-balancing circuit is proposed. During the generation, the system operates as power conditioner only, whereas it operates as a cell balancing circuit during the rest time. For the analysis, the operating principle of the circuit and the controller design are done by PSIM simulation. For verification, a hardware prototype with 48-W photovoltaic modules has been implemented. Results verified that the modularized photovoltaic power conversion system with a series-connected storage successfully works with the proposed method.

In this paper, the transformerless three-phase line-connected PV PCS (photovoltaic power conditioning system) is proposed. An improved P&O (perturb and observe) MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm that prevents local maximum power point tracking is proposed. By controlling the three-phase line-connected voltage source inverter using outer DC-link voltage controller, inner current controller and microcontroller friendly simplified space vector modulation (SVM) method, a unity power factor is achieved. An algorithm is suggested to control the DC-link voltage faster and more correctly for the increase system stability and power factor. All algorithms and controllers are implemented on a single-chip microcontroller and the superiority of the proposed algorithms and controllers is proved by experiments.

In this paper, the modular line-connected photovoltaic PCS (photovoltaic power conditioning system) is proposed. A step-up DC-DC converter using a active-clamp circuit and a dual series-resonant rectifier is proposed to achieve a high efficiency and a high input-output voltage ratio efficiently. An IncCond (incremental conductance) MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm that improves MPPT characteristic is used. The PV module current is estimated without using a DC current sensor. By control a inverter using a linearized output current controller, a unity power factor is achieved. All algorithms and controllers are implemented on a single-chip microcontroller and the superiority of the proposed DC-DC converter and controllers is proved by experiments.
In this paper, a systematical controller design method for a twostage grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning system is proposed. For a pre-stage boost converter to achieve the stable operation in the entire region of solar array, the digital resistive current mode controller is used. This algorithm is very simple to implement with a digital controller and there is no power stage parameter dependency in the controller design. For a post-stage single-phase full-bridge inverter, a PI controller with a feedforward compensation for the inner current control is employed. Furthermore, in case that the operating point of the solar array under varying environmental conditions is higher than the required voltage for the inverter current control, the bypass mode for the boost converter is possible for the more efficient operation. The proposed control scheme is validated through the experiment of the prototype two-stage power conditioning system hardware with a 200W solar array.
A photovoltaic panel is a device that, through the photovoltaic effect, converts luminous energy into electric energy. Photovoltaic generation system used infinity of solar energy, cost of fuel is needless and there in no air pollution or waste occurrence. This paper summarizes the results of these efforts by offering a photovoltaic system structure in 30[kW] large scale applications installed in Mokpo National University dormitory roof. The status of photovoltaic system components, are inter-connection and safety equipment monitoring system will be summarized as this article. This describes configuration of utility interactive photovoltaic system which generated power supply for dormitory. In this paper represent 30[kW] utility photovoltaic system examination result.

This research proposes a modeling and controller design of a three-level boost (TLB) converter for the implementation of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in the photovoltaic power conditioning system (PCS). Contrary to the output voltage control of the conventional controller, the Photovoltaic PCS requires an input voltage controller for MPPT operation. A TLB converter has the advantage of decreasing the inductor size and increasing efficiency compared with the existing booster converter. However, an optimal controller is difficult to design due to the complexity of the TLB operations, which have two operational modes on the duty ratio boundary of 0.5. Therefore, the unified linear model equations of the TLB converters, which can be applicable to both operational modes, are derived using linearized solar cell expressions. Furthermore, the transfer functions are obtained for the controller design. The MPPT voltage controller is designed using MATLAB SISOTOOL. In addition, a controller for capacitor voltage unbalancing is described and designed. The simulations and experimental verifications are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the small-signal analysis and control system design.

Energy storage devices are necessary to obtain stable utilization of renewable energy sources. When black-out occurs, distributed renewable power sources with energy storage devices can operate under standalone mode as uninterruptable power supply. This paper proposes a dynamic response analysis with small-signal modeling for the standalone operation of a photovoltaic power generation system that includes a bidirectional charger/discharger with a battery. Furthermore, it proposes a DC-link voltage controller design of the entire power conditioning system, using the storage current under standalone operation. The purpose of this controller is to guarantee the stable operation of the renewable source and the storage subsystem, with the power conversion of a very efficient bypass-type PCS. This paper presents the operating principle and design guidelines of the proposed scheme, along with performance analysis and simulation. Finally, a hardware prototype of 1-kW power conditioning system with an energy storage device is implemented, for experimental verification of the proposed converter system.
