Analysis of photothermal response in a two-dimensional semiconducting material thermally excited by pulse heat flux

  • A mathematical model of Lord-Shulman photo-thermal theorem induced by pulse heat flux is presented to study the propagations waves for plasma, thermal and elastic in two-dimensional semiconductor materials. The medium is assumed initially quiescent. By using Laplace-Fourier transforms with the eigenvalue method, the variables are obtained analytically. A semiconductor medium such as silicon is investigated. The displacements, stresses, the carrier density and temperature distributions are calculated numerically and clarified graphically. The outcomes show that thermal relaxation time has varying degrees of effects on the studying fields.

  • Gold nanostructures (Au NSs) are useful and interesting matrices for mass spectrometric analysis of various biomolecules based on organic matrix-free laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LDI-TOF-MS). Au NSs provide high efficiency and versatility in LDI-TOF-MS analysis based on their well-established synthesis and surface functionalization, large surface area, high laser absorption capacity, and photothermal conversion efficiency. Therefore, Au NSs based LDI-TOF-MS can be a facile, functional, and efficient analytical method for important small biomolecules owing to its simple preparation, rapid analysis, salt-tolerance, signal reproducibility, and quantitative analysis. This review chronologically summarizes the important advance of Au NSs-based LDI-TOF-MS platforms in terms of in-depth mechanism, signal enhancement, quantitative analysis, and disease diagnosis.

Stacks of Two Different-sized Gold Nanodisks for Biological Imaging

  • 본 연구에서는 지름이 다른 두 개의 디스크가 적층된 구조를 갖는 금 나노 구조체를 제작하고 그 광학적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. 나노임프린팅을 통하여 패턴된 폴리머 포어 어레이에 금 박막을 증착하고, 포어 내부에 증착된 금 나노구조체를 선택적으로 수거하는 방법을 이용하였다 [1]. 특히 금 증착 시, 빗각으로 증착 (oblique-angle deposition)을 하여 지름이 다른 두 개의 디스크가 적층되어 있는 구조를 형성하는 것이 가능하였다. 증착 각도의 조절을 통해 적층된 두 디스크의 지름 비율을 변화시킬 뿐만 아니라, 2차원 디스크 형태의 나노구조체부터 3차원 디쉬 형태의 구조체도 제작이 가능함을 확인하였다. 제안된 하향식 나노공정을 통하여 합성된 금 나노구조체를 이용하여 광열 전환(photothermal heat conversion)과 광 간섭성 단층 (optical coherence tomography) 측정을 진행하였고, 서로 다른 두 개의 디스크가 적층된 형태의 금 나노구조체는 상용 금 나노로드 (Au nanorod) 보다 높은 광 열 전환 효율을 갖을 뿐 아니라 우수한 OCT 이미징 특성을 보였다. 광열 전환 및 OCT 이미징 실험 결과는 각각 플라즈모닉 나노구조의 광흡수, 광산란 특성에 기반하므로, 본 연구를 통하여 제안된 금 나노구조체는 광흡수 및 광산란을 기반한 바이오이미징 나노프로브로 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 전망된다.

오목한 광섬유 팁의 방사특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Radiation Characteristics of Concave Optical Fiber Tips)

  • 본 논문에서는 광통신용 공진기에 필요한 광섬유의 오목한 면 제작에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 불산(Hydrofluoric acid) 용액과 이 용액에 잘 흡수될 수 있는 파장인 $1.55{\mu}m$의 레이저를 인가하여 광열효과를 유도하였고, 식각 용액에서의 광열효과를 통해 광섬유 끝단의 곡률 반경을 자유롭게 변경할 수 있는 점을 현미경 사진 촬영으로 확인하였다. 빔 프로파일러를 이용하여 제작한 결과물의 끝단에서 방사되는 빔의 크기 변화를 관측하여 유효성을 검증하였고 본 논문의 저자들은 제시한 방식이 광통신용 공진기에 적용 가능성이 있을 것으로 보고 있다.

Excitation Wavelength Dependence of Laser Ablation Mechanism of Urethane-Urea Copolymer Film Studied by Time-Resolved Absorbance Measurements

  • The excitation wavelength dependence of laser ablation dynamics of an azobenzene-containing urethane-urea copolymer film was investigated by measuring the laser fluence dependence of etch depth, transient absorbance change at each excitation wavelength, and transient absorption spectra. Moreover expansion/contraction dynamics was studied by applying nanosecond time-resolved interferometry. The threshold was determined at several excitation wavelengths from etch depth measurement, while time-integrated absorbance was obtained under excitation conditions. The photon energy required to remove the topmost of surface layer of the film did not .depend on excitation wavelength, and the penetration depth of excitation pulse dominated the etch depth. When the excitation wavelength was longer than 500 nm, permanent swelling was clearly observed but not for shorter wavelength excitation. In the latter case, photoisomerization occurred during excitation and the following photoreduction may play an important role. On the basis of the observations made in this study, a photochemical and photothermal mechanisms can explain mostly the short and long wavelength excitation results, respectively.

소비자 지향 3차원 헬멧제품 제작을 위한 UV레이저 기반의 폴리머/금속적층에 대한 기초연구 (A Fundamental Study on Polymer/Metal Additive Method using a UV Laser for Consumer-oriented 3D Helmet Products)

  • Consumer orientation requires that companies understand consumer needs and produce products that meet their expectations. This study proposes a new additive method that creates a polymer/metal bonding layer and thus can lighten the weight of helmets to develop a consumer-oriented 3D printing helmet. The composite solution is experimentally prepared with copper formate and a photopolymer resin. Stereolithography apparatus and photothermal reactions are introduced to fabricate an adhesive hybrid layer of copper metal and polymer. A UV pulse laser with a 355 nm wavelength was installed to simplify this process. Resistance, adhesion, and accuracy were investigated to evaluate the properties of the layer produced.

  • 태양전지의 특성분석에 관한 최근의 동향을 고찰해 보기로 한단. 첫째, $CuInSe_2$와 비정질 실리콘 등의 광전압 용도의 태양전지의 재료선택에 관한 일반 규칙을 살펴 보고, 둘째, AM1 조건에서 보다 정확한 전지효율의 측정방법을 조사하며, 셋째, 태양전지의 중요 특성분석방법들을 소개 설명한다. 특히 생산 품질관리의 규모로 까지 확대적용이 가능한 다음과 같은 태양전지의 특성분석방법들의 장치개선 및 컴퓨터제어를 고찰하기로 한다. 전지효율 및 기타 전지특성을 위한 전류-전압 성질 측정장치, 양자효율을 위한 분광반응장치, 소수 이동자의 확산거리를 위한 표면광전압장치, 또한 에너지갭 내의 양자상태밀도를 위한 광열굴절장치 등이다.

레이저 세정기술을 이용한 웨이퍼의 표면세정 (Surface Cleaning of a Wafer Contaminated by Fingerprint Using a Laser Cleaning Technology)

  • There is a growing interest to develop a new cleaning technology to overcome the disadvantages of wet cleaning technologies such as environmental pollution and the cleaning difficulty of contaminants on integrated circuits. Laser cleaning is a potential technology to remove various pollutants on a wafer surface. However, there is no fundamental data about cleaning efficiencies and cleaning mechanisms of contaminants on a wafer surface using a laser cleaning technology. Therefore, the cleaning characteristics of a wafer surface using an excimer laser were investigated in this study. Fingerprint consisting of inorganic and organic materials was chosen as a representative of pollutants and the effectiveness of a laser irradiation on a wafer cleaning has been investigated qualitatively and quantitatively. The results have shown that cleaning degree is proportional to the laser irradiation time and repetition rate, and quantitative analysis conducted by an image processing method also have shown the same trend. Furthermore, the cleaning efficiency of a wafer contaminated by fingerprint strongly depended on a photothermal cleaning mechanism and the species were removed in order of hydrophilic and hydrophobic contaminants by laser irradiation.

  • 빛에 대한 폴리피롤(PPy)의 광전기화학적인 거동을 $Fe(CN)_6^{4-}/Fe(CN)_6^{3-}$$I^-/I_2$를 산화환원종으로 수용액에서 관찰하였다. PPy은 정전압법으로 Pt와 glassy-C 그리고 ITO에 각각 중합하였으며 PPy막을 입힌 전극에 빛이 쪼여졌을 때 산화환원종의 산화환원 전위에서 전류의 증가를 얻었다. 증가된 전류는 PPy이 갖는 반도체 특성과 빛에 의한 전극표면에서의 산화환원 광열촉진에 기인하며, PPy 중합시 사용한 지지전해질의 음이온(dopants)과 산화환원종, 용액의 pH에 의존하였다.

966nm 근적외선 레이저를 이용한 고저항성 바나듐 이산화물 박막 기반 2단자 평면형 소자에서의 양방향 전류 트리거링 (Bidirectional Current Triggering in Two-Terminal Planar Device Based on Highly Resistive Vanadium Dioxide Thin Film Using 966nm Near Infrared Laser)

  • By incorporating a 966nm near infrared laser, we demonstrated bidirectional current triggering of between 0 and 10mA in a two-terminal planar device based on a highly resistive vanadium dioxide ($VO_2$) thin film grown by a pulsed laser deposition method. A two-terminal planar device, which had an electrode separation of $100{\mu}m$ and a $50{\mu}m-wide$ $VO_2$ conducting layer, was fabricated through ion beam-assisted milling and photolithographic techniques. A bias voltage range for stable bidirectional current triggering was determined by investigating the current-voltage curves of the $VO_2-based$ device in a current-controlled mode. Bidirectional current triggering of up to 10mA was realized by directly illuminating the $VO_2$ film with a focused infrared laser beam, and the transient responses of triggered currents were analyzed when the laser was modulated at various pulse widths and repetition rates. A switching contrast between off- and on-state currents was evaluated as ~3571, and the rising and falling times were measured as ~40 and ~20ms, respectively.
