  • Recently, the development project is conducting disaster effect estimation to breed disaster, and cope these disaster beforehand provoking soil erosion and flood. Therefore, it is important to analyze and reduce of these disaster. In this study, it is intended to extract LS and C factors of soil erosion through the digital image. The photogrammetric technique, which employs the Remote Control Helicopter equipped with a non-metric digital camera, was used for the efficient survey and analysis of cutting slopes. As a result, we obtain more objective value of soil erosion factor using digital image.

  • In this study, a joint survey system was developed to efficiently analyze geometrical characteristics of joint structures in rock mass using photogrammetric technique. The system includes both hardware and software. The hardware consists of a high resolution image camera for photographing image of a surface of rock body, a direction controlling system for adjusting the attitude of camera, and a digital compass for measuring the rotation angle of camera. The software was also developed in order to analyze the orientation, density, mean length of joints revealed on the images of rock surfaces. The software developed in this study was named as JointeXtractor. As applying this system into several field measurements, the orientation, density, mean length of joints could be quantitatively measured through analyzing the images of rock surfaces, in which the case of a difficult-to-access area was especially included for the test of the system.

  • Significant developments in the use of digital imagery for close-range photogrammetric metrology have occured in the last few years because of technological advances in digital image processing. Present day needs for applications of digital image processing technique to measurements of photographs obtained with non-metric camera at reduced cost, automation and convenience. In order for this application to be useful, a detailed procedure must be developed. Investigation of this study is given to the detailed procedure for the digital measurements of the object space data from the scanned non-metric photographs.

  • High voltage power transmission lines have been to keep the proper dip for maintenance. Powerline dips at a random point are conventionally measured by the direct or indirect observation but it is not only unsafe but labor-intensive. Therefore in this study we applied the photogrammetric technique to remotely measure the powerline dips. Since it is not easy to extract conjugate points from linear powerlines, we exploited the epipolar lines acrossing the powerlines for 3D mapping of the powerlines and dip measurements. The vertical mapping accuracy estimated at two field-surveyed power line points was 15~16cm that are within 5% of deflection at the points and less than 3% of the powerline dip.

  • The various studies and applications for UAVS(Unmaned Aerial Vehicle System) have been recently increased as a new technology to create 3D spatial information rapidly and accurately. UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is economical when comparing with conventional technique, such as satellite and aerial survey, and can quickly obtain high resolution data under 5cm. This paper examined the utilizing possibility to creating 3D spatial information and analysis the compatibility the UAV data obtained by non-metric digital camera with conventional numerical photogrammetric system. The DEM and normal orthophoto is created by exclusive S/W and DPW(Digital Photogrammetry Workstation) then analysis the accuracy of created data. As a result, the accuracy of the created DEM and normal orthophoto, which is obtained by UAV then processed by DPW, is not satisfied;so it is estimated that the compatibility the UAV data with conventional numerical photogrammetric system is low.

  • The paper studies in the wide-angle lens and distortion tendency and employs the correction techniques suitable to the fish-eye lens using the existing photographic survey methods. After carrying out the calibration of the the fish-eye lens, we calculated the correction parameters, and then developed the method that convert the original image-point to new image-point correcting distortion. The objectives of suggested calibration method in this paper are to calibrate the image of the the fish-eye lens used in the computer-vision and the control-instrumentation field widely. The proposed technique expects to improve the accuracy of the image of the fish-eye lens in the indoor tracking and monitoring field. Also the referenced cross point auto-extraction program is embodied for improving efficiency of the lens correction techniques. Consequently, this calibration method would be applied to the automated distorting correction method on not only the fish-eye lens also general lens.

  • To obtain Digital Elevation Model(DEM) from an exposed rock mass, techniques such as laser scanning and digital stereo photogrammetric technique are recently applied. We have obtained the DEM of the rock slope using above techniques in this study, and examined a suitability and improvement of the photogrammetry for the rock slope by overlapping the DEM. This study can be applied to the measurement of fracture orientations, the prediction of rock joint network, and the analysis on the change of the rock slope.

  • New construction for public transport in congested urban areas will involve tunnel construction adjacent to existing building or bridge foundations and services due to the lack of surface space. Therefore, careful assessment of the important underground structure-soil-tunnelling interaction is relatively new, currently only limited information is available. In this study, the authors carried out FE analysis and the laboratory model test using the photogrammetric technique and suggested the influence zones associated with the normalised pile tip settlement during new tunnel construction.

  • This study aims to analyze stone's surface roughness measurement accuracy of a high resolution DCS 420 digital camera by digital close-range photogrammetric technique. For this purpose, the surface roughness measurement system was constructed by means of microsoft visual basic 6.0 in windows. As the analysis results of measurement accuracy of digital camera using this system, the roughness error of the normal distance between the best fitting reference surface obtained by least square method and sample points in the ideal plane or surface did not exceed $\pm$0.1 mm

  • In this study, a series of two-dimensional model test and numerical analysis was carried out to investigate the pile movement due to tunnelling in soft ground. The model test consists of 21 cases according to locations of the pile tip over the centre position of model tunnel. To identify both the pile and ground movements a close-range photogrammetric technique was adopted in the model test. The results from the model test were compared to the two-dimensional finite element analysis using the CRISP program. It was found that the rotation point on the pile was significantly affected by factors such as the offset distance from the model tunnel and the volume loss that occurred during the tunnelling operation.
