Money as a Polycontextual Value and Means of Self-Identification of a Modern Person: Traditional vs Virtual

  • The article examines the axiological psycho-philosophical understanding of the phenomenon of money and its value role in modern society. The traditional and virtual context of the representation of the money phenomenon is considered.Following the ideas of G. Simmel, the authors consider money not only as a purely economic, but also a psycho-philosophical, cultural and social phenomenon. Money appears as a result of cultural development of the world and gradually forms a monetary culture as a space of economic and social interaction of people. Under the influence of the monetary culture of one or another historical period, the character of a person's economic activity, values and life orientations are formed. Modern money culture is often called financial civilization. Peculiarities of modern monetary culture are studied, its main features and problems are determined in the article. The problem of the peculiarities of the constructive and destructive attitude of the individual towards money is identified; a psycho-philosophical and cultural-identification typology of people is described, which is based on clinical observations and interpreted through the prism of psychoanalytic theory. The concept of money is highlighted from the standpoint of a social-psychological approach. The theoretical foundations of money's influence on the decision-making process and human behavior are also revealed.

  • 언론행위는 사회적 실천행위다. 따라서 무엇이 옳고 그런가에 대한 판단이 전제되어야 한다. 언론에 철학이 필요한 이유다. 언론철학의 빈곤은 언론의 도구화를 촉진한다. 어떤 권력이나 자본도 언론의 본질적인 철학을 침범하도록 해서는 안 된다. 언론은 언론의 본질적 가치를 지켜야 한다. 언론의 본질적 가치를 침해당했음에도 불구하고 침묵하는 것은 언론 스스로 존재가치를 부정하는 것이다. 즉 자기 배반이다. 언론의 사회적 실천은 언론의 본질적 가치를 지키고 실현하는 과정이다. 따라서 역사적이다. 언론이 역사와 만나는 지점이다. 역사의식 없는 언론은 곧 철학의 빈곤이다. 철학 없는 언론은 역사적 소명의식을 가질 수 없다. 언론철학은 역사를 통해서 현실로서 들어난다. 역사적 현실을 통해 언론철학의 구체성은 들어난다. 언론철학과 언론역사 연구 간의 대화가 필요한 이유다. 따라서 본 연구는 언론철학이 언론역사 속에서 어떻게 형성되고 재구성되는지 살펴본다. 동시에 언론역사 속에서 언론철학은 어떻게 구체화 되는지, 역사적 주체들이 어떻게 언론을 실천하는지, 그것의 언론사적 의미가 무엇인지를 탐구한다.

The Five Laws of Library Science from a Japanese Angle

  • The Five Laws of Library Science was introduced into Japan in 1935. After World War II, it was widely disseminated among young librarians by the education for librarianship developed in the 1950's. Its concept, "Books for All," met a serious opposition from local authorities based on their long continued concept of "preservation." After they realized that people eagerly use local libraries, they interpreted that the duty of public library was "lending books." They introduced "Privatization" of libraries into quite a few local libraries in order to save money. For overcoming problems, it is important to disseminate the library concept among the public, the assembly members and government officials planning to change their attitude of disregarding libraries. As the fundamental library philosophy, the Five Laws of Library Science is important. In the commentary of the Five Laws written by the present writer, he included an illustration of triangle pyramid showing the structure of the Five Laws. He included here the spiral of study on the library and the library science, based on the Section 814 of the Five Laws. He welcomes discussions on his Japanese angle from different viewpoints in order to develop further understanding of the Five Laws.

TONYMOLY Cosmetic Company: A Small but Smart Marketing Player

  • Established in 2006 as the forward integration effort by Taesung Industry, the major cosmetic packaging company, TONYMOLY has phenomenally grown to one of the major cosmetic brand companies in the submarket called, 'one brand-shop' of cosmetic market since 2008, after overcoming the crisis of 'going out of business' in a couple of early years. Within a relatively short period of time, TONYMOLY's performances have dramatically improved in terms of metrics such as growth in sales revenue, the number of stores, the average sales per store, transaction value per customer, the number of monthly transactions, the number of membership-based customers, and overseas sales. In this case study, we have examined TONYMOLY's recent marketing activities which may explain the plausible reasons behind the substantial growth of a small but smart cosmetic company. Above all, the first key success factor of TONYMOLY would be found in its adherence to the clear philosophy of the customer value proposition and/or the differentiated position of TONYMOLY as a brand of providing value. Second, this brand concept of value was first penetrated and welcomed among the foothold customer target group of mid and late teens with appropriate products, while the target groups were later expanded into the age group of twenties along with expansion of relevant products. Third, its differentiation efforts have been concrete and meaningful by utilizing unique ingredients in its product development and marketing efforts, unique fun packaging, and continuously introducing new hit-selling products as well as managing steady-selling products. Fourth, TONYMOLY has been smart enough to use its limited marketing money efficiently and effectively in its marketing communication activities. Viral marketing, PPL, and concentrated media planning and execution turned out to produce effective and efficient market-based performances such as awareness, word-of-mouth, and sales. Lastly, the marketing leadership of CEO and top management, emphasizing communications and interactions, was confirmed in the relationship quality with and trust level of its franchisees and internal employees. These key success factors may explain the recent phenomenal market performances of TONYMOLY. Despite recent successes, the major issues are presented for TONYMOLY to consider for maintaining its sustainable advantages and growth. The first issue concerns TONYMOLY's choice of growth philosophy between product/brand-centric marketing and customer-centric marketing. The second challenging issue relates to how TONYMOLY can cope with 'growing pains' plausibly accompanied with the rapid growth.

  • It has been declared in 1992 at Rio about the management of united water control and method of the management of the water resources at the water basin. And it was also mentioned about the protection of fresh water's quality and it's supply under chapter the 18th of the agenda 21. It has been 10years passed after Rio declaration, and water crisis Is getting more serious than before. Fairly, right for using water resources was given to every life as the public resources. But at the last world water forum, water was commercialized, and regulated as the basic requirement not basic right. Therefore, we could use the water according to the logic of supply and demand at the market, and with money. Furthermore, construction of the big dam which was build to solve the problem of the lack of water became one of problems for water control. Korea is keeping consistent policy such as providing water by the building of dam. Control of the water demand is the most basic and effective policy for the preservation of water resources. If we change the policy such as the construction of the dam, we should put the management of the water demand in the center with the reliable philosophy. United management of the river basin has to be made with the security of water, improvement of water quality, and protection of the ecological side each other. Management of water basin also has to be completed to solve the trouble caused by using water conflict people who live up and down stream. To maintain the good quality of water, management of water basin is necessary. Also, bottom line of the united management of water basin is voluntary involvement of every citizens and local community. We suggest to preserve the origin of river and the upper at the ecological side. It is worth it to preserve.

인문지리학 방법론의 새로운 지평 (New horizon of geographical method)

  • In this paper, I consider the development of methods in contemporary human geography in terms of a dialectical relation of action and structure, and try to draw a new horizon of method toward which geographical research and spatial theory would develop. The positivist geography which was dominent during 1960s has been faced both with serious internal reflections and strong external criticisms in the 1970s. The internal reflections that pointed out its ignorance of spatial behavior of decision-makers and its simplication of complex spatial relations have developed behavioural geography and systems-theoretical approach. Yet this kinds of alternatives have still standed on the positivist, geography, even though they have seemed to be more real and complicate than the previous one, The external criticisms that have argued against the positivist method as phenomenalism and instrumentalism suggest some alternatives: humanistic geography which emphasizes intention and action of human subject and meaning-understanding, and structuralist geography which stresses on social structure as a totality which would produce spatial phenomena, and a theoretical formulation. Human geography today can be characterized by a strain and conflict between these methods, and hence rezuires a synthetic integration between them. Philosophy and social theory in general are in the same in which theories of action and structural analysis have been complementary or conflict with each other. Human geography has fallen into a further problematic with the introduction of a method based on so-called political ecnomy. This method has been suggested not merely as analternative to the positivist geography, but also as a theoretical foundation for critical analysis of space. The political economy of space with has analyzed the capitalist space and tried to theorize its transformation may be seen either as following humanistic(or Hegelian) Marxism, such as represented in Lefebvre's work, or as following structuralist Marxism, such as developed in Castelles's or Harvey's work. The spatial theory following humanistic Marxism has argued for a dialectic relation between 'the spatial' and 'the social', and given more attention to practicing human agents than to explaining social structures. on the contray, that based on structuralist Marxism has argued for social structures producing spatial phenomena, and focused on theorising the totality of structures, Even though these two perspectives tend more recently to be convergent in a way that structuralist-Marxist. geographers relate the domain of economic and political structures with that of action in their studies of urban culture and experience under capitalism, the political ecnomy of space needs an integrated method with which one can overcome difficulties of orthhodox Marxism. Some novel works in philosophy and social theory have been developed since the end of 1970s which have oriented towards an integrated method relating a series of concepts of action and structure, and reconstructing historical materialism. They include Giddens's theory of structuration, foucault's geneological analysis of power-knowledge, and Habermas's theory of communicative action. Ther are, of course, some fundamental differences between these works. Giddens develops a theory which relates explicitly the domain of action and that of structure in terms of what he calls the 'duality of structure', and wants to bring time-space relations into the core of social theory. Foucault writes a history in which strategically intentional but nonsubjective power relations have emerged and operated by virtue of multiple forms of constrainst wihthin specific spaces, while refusing to elaborate any theory which would underlie a political rationalization. Habermas analyzes how the Western rationalization of ecnomic and political systems has colonized the lifeworld in which we communicate each other, and wants to formulate a new normative foundation for critical theory of society which highlights communicatie reason (without any consideration of spatial concepts). On the basis of the above consideration, this paper draws a new norizon of method in human geography and spatial theory, some essential ideas of which can be summarized as follows: (1) the concept of space especially in terms of its relation to sociery. Space is not an ontological entity whch is independent of society and has its own laws of constitution and transformation, but it can be produced and reproduced only by virtue of its relation to society. Yet space is not merlely a material product of society, but also a place and medium in and through which socety can be maintained or transformed.(2) the constitution of space in terms of the relation between action and structure. Spatial actors who are always knowledgeable under conditions of socio-spatial structure produce and reproduce their context of action, that is, structure; and spatial structures as results of human action enable as well as constrain it. Spatial actions can be distinguished between instrumental-strategicaction oriented to success and communicative action oriented to understanding, which (re)produce respectively two different spheres of spatial structure in different ways: the material structure of economic and political systems-space in an unknowledged and unitended way, and the symbolic structure of social and cultural life-space in an acknowledged and intended way. (3) the capitalist space in terms of its rationalization. The ideal development of space would balance the rationalizations of system space and life-space in a way that system space providers material conditions for the maintainance of the life-space, and the life-space for its further development. But the development of capitalist space in reality is paradoxical and hence crisis-ridden. The economic and poltical system-space, propelled with the steering media like money, and power, has outstriped the significance of communicative action, and colonized the life-space. That is, we no longer live in a space mediated communicative action, but one created for and by money and power. But no matter how seriously our everyday life-space has been monetalrized and bureaucratised, here lies nevertheless the practical potential which would rehabilitate the meaning of space, the meaning of our life on the Earth.

무안 국제공항 건설에 따른 주변지역 관광개발 방안 (The Tourism Development Plan of Muan County in relation to the Construction of the Um International Airport)

  • 본 연구는 정부의 무안 국제공항 건설 결정과 관련하여 특색 있는 무안지역의 관광개발 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 현재 각 지방자치단체가 추진하고 있는 천편일률적인 위락공간 조성 위주의 관광개발을 지양하고 관광의 본질에 충실한 관광개발을 위해 다음과 같은 세 가지 근본적인 질문을 제기하였다. 관광의 본질은 무엇인가\ulcorner 누구를 위한 관광개발인가\ulcorner 무엇을 위한 관광개발인가\ulcorner 여기에서 얻어진 결론은 극히 원론적인 것임에도 불구하고 실제에 있어서 잘 지켜지지 않고 있는 것으로 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 관광개발은 해당 지역에 자연적.역사적으로 주어진 관광소재의 특성을 최대한 강화할 수 있도록 수행되어야 한다. 둘째, 관광개발 과정에 지역주민의 참여를 유도하고, 개발의 내용이 지역산업의 발전과 주민의 소득증대로 이어져야 한다. 셋째, 관광개발은 경제적 이익만을 추구하기보다는 지역주민과 관광객의 삶의 질을 종합적으로 향상시킬 수 있도록 추진되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 특색 있는 무안군의 관광개발 방안으로 공항 연계도로지 꽃길 조성, 회산 연꽃 방죽의 불교 관광지 및 전통 요양 단지로의 개발, 일제시대 군용 비행장의 역사 문화 관광지화. 해수 목욕(해수찜) 단지 조성, 그리고 공항입지의 이점을 살린 관광농업의 활성화를 지적하였다.

서비스주의 금융시스템 연구 (A Servicism Model of the New Financial System)

  • 본 연구는 인류의 지속가능한 삶을 위한 금융시스템 디자인을 위해 수행되었다. 인류는 끊임없는 위기를 맞고 이를 극복하면서 삶을 영위하고 있다. 경제위기나 바이러스에 의한 위기를 극복하는 과정에서 양극화는 심화되고 있다. 자본주의 경제시스템을 채택하고 있는 사회에서는 시간의 경과와 함께 양극화가 심화되는 것이 일반적인 현상이기는 하지만, 양극화의 심화는 공동체로서의 인류사회를 파괴할 수 있으므로, 이에 대한 적극적인 대책이 요구된다. 본 연구는 인간의 삶과, 인류사회의 유지 방식 관점에서 중요한 금융 관련 시스템을 새롭게 디자인하여 양극화의 심화를 방지하고 사회의 안정성을 높이려는 목적으로 수행되었다. 인류의 역사를 통하여 화폐 금융과 지속가능한 사회 관련 시스템을 분석하고, 현대와 미래사회에 이상적이면서 장기적으로 지속가능한 금융시스템 모델을 도출하였다. 장기 지속가능한 금융시스템의 조건은 양극화 심화 등 현 시스템의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 모델이어야 하며, 현대경제사회의 특성과 지속가능한 삶의 본질에 충실한 모델이어야 한다. 그리고 인류사회의 공통원리에 기반해야 지속가능할 수 있다. 인류사회가 요구하는 성장과 평등 등 핵심 가치를 보장하는 모델이어야 한다. 현 금융시스템의 문제를 분석하고, 새로운 시스템에 요구되는 조건을 분석한 후, 새로운 금융시스템이 바탕을 두어야 하는 기본 공리를 제시하고, 이에 기반하여 바람직한 모델을 도출하였다. 도출된 시스템은 서비스주의 금융시스템으로 명명하였다. 금융과 돈에 관하여 사회와 개인에게 필요한 두 방향이 서로 팽팽한 대립면을 공유하며 상호 균형을 이루고 있을 때, 시민이 행복한 안정된 사회가 가능하기 때문이다. 서비스주의 금융시스템의 구조와 구체적인 운용모델 및 구현방안을 제시하였다. 향후 본 모델을 구체화하는 후속 연구가 필요하다.

인도의 문화코드와 글로컬문화콘텐츠 (Indian Culture Code and Glocal Cultural Contents)

  • 전 세계적으로 문화콘텐츠 산업이 주목받기 시작하면서 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 골드만삭스의 BRICs 보고서에 따르면 인도는 중국과 더불어 미래 글로벌 경제의 성장 동력이자, 문화콘텐츠 소비시장의 새로운 블루칩으로 주목 받고 있다. 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 각 나라의 문화를 체계적·심층적으로 분석하는 것이다. 인도의 경우 단일문화권인 우리나라와는 다르게 복합·다문화 체계를 가지고 있으며 한국, 중국, 일본을 대표하는 동아시아 문화권에 속하지 않아 문화적 거리감도 큰 편이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인도 진출을 목적으로 한 한국기업들을 위해 글로컬문화콘텐츠 개발의 방향을 제시하고 인도의 문화코드를 이해하는데 그 목표를 두고 있다. 연구 결과를 요약하면, 인도는 정치와 사회 그리고 문화 분야에서 대략 다음과 같이 9가지 문화코드가 발견된다. 먼저 정치와 사회 문화코드로는 다음 5가지가 있다: i) 지속적 민주주의와 서민구제, ii) 권력지향적 권위주의, iii) 집단주의와 개인주의 성향을 동시에 지닌 집단적 개인주의, iv) 생활종교의 정착, v) 미래보다 현재에 충실한 '카르페 디엠'. 그리고 경제 문화코드는 vi) 12억 인구가 모시는 또 다른 신인 돈, vii) 과소비를 지양하는 실용적 구매라는 2가지 코드로 요약할 수 있으며, 마지막으로 인도인이 선호하는 문화콘텐츠 코드로는 viii) 인도의 국민문화콘텐츠라고 할 수 있는 맛살라 무비를 들 수 있다. ix) 그리고 이 맛살라 무비의 공통된 주제인 해피엔딩을 꼽을 수 있다. 결론에서는 <대장금>, <괴물>, <디워>를 앞서 제시한 9가지 인도의 문화코드에 적용하여 어떤 점이 부합하고 또 어떤 점이 부합하지 않는지를 개략적으로 살펴보았다. 인도를 상대로 한 비즈니스는 결코 쉽지 않다. 그 이유는 일차적으로 인도라는 나라가 문화적으로 다양성을 기초로 이루어진 국가이기 때문이다. 따라서 우리나라와 인도의 현존하는 문화적 거리를 좁히는 것이 우리나라의 문화콘텐츠산업이 인도에 진출하는데 있어 가장 큰 과제라 할 수 있으며, 현지화 과정에 있어서는 인도인이 선호하는 콘텐츠가 무엇인지를 파악하는데 많은 노력을 기울어야 할 것이다.
