Design and Implementation of a Sensor Technology-based Safety Shoe Recognition System to Prevent Safety Accidents (안전사고 예방을 위한 센서 기술 기반 안전화 인식 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • With the introduction of the law regarding severe penalties for major accidents, employers, management executives, and corporations have significantly increased the number of safety managers and invested extensively in acquiring ISO certifications to prevent accidents in industrial sites. Moreover, the implementation of the Smart Safety Management System (SSMS) has facilitated the management of personnel and safety equipment. While IoT-based management systems have been applied to safety gear such as helmets, safety harnesses, and protective clothing, the responsibility for safety shoes still primarily lies with on-site managers and individuals, leaving a vulnerability to accidents. In this study, we aim to implement a Raspberry Pi-based sensor device to proactively detect workers' safety shoe usage upon entering the site. The goal is to confirm the usage of safety shoes and prevent accidents that may occur due to non-compliance with safety shoes regulations.

A Study on the Factors Affecting the Use of the Military Battlefield Management System in the Non-voluntary Use Environment

  • In this paper, we propose a novel behavioral model that explains the use of the military battlefield management system more effectively in the non-voluntary use environment. This study intends to suggest a model based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology(UTAUT), an extended TAM. Also, it introduces the concept of 'Conative IS use' as a dependent variable that can explain user's behavior more effectively in non-voluntary technology acceptance environment. In addition, we propose the major factors affecting the UTAUT components from the TOE(Technology-Organization-Environment) perspectives, and analyze their effects. In order to validate the proposed model, this study applies PLS(Partial Least Squares) to the survey collected from military personnel. The findings of our study may shed a light on improving the effectiveness of battlefield management information system.

  • Objectives: To deter job migration and to facilitate a more efficient personnel management system, a personality type analysis tool, such as MBTI and Enneagram, may be considered. These tools can facilitate better recognition of talent among prospective employees, as well as more efficient allocation of tasks for greater job satisfaction. Methods: This study conducted direct interviews with dental hygienists currently employed at two major dental organizations, which operate the largest networks of clinics across the greater metropolitan area. Results : First, in terms of number of turnover experiences, the Head Type showed lower task satisfaction, whereas the Body Type exhibited greater task satisfaction. Second, the Head Type showed greater job satisfaction compared to the other types. Third, the SJ Type, often considered the traditionalist in terms of long-term employments, exhibited greater tendencies toward long-term commitment with one employer. Fourth, dental hygienists, in terms of long-term employment, are negatively affected by task satisfaction, and positively affected by job satisfaction. Conclusions: It is thought to be considerable to use personality type analysis tools in clinical human resource management.

Fire and Explosion Hazards and Safety Management Measures of Waste Plastic-to-Pyrolysis Oil Conversion Process (폐플라스틱 열분해 유화 공정의 화재·폭발 위험성 및 안전관리 방안)

  • The number of fire and explosion accidents caused by pyrolysis oil and gas at waste plastic pyrolysis plants is increasing, but accident status and safety conditions have not been clearly identified. Therefore, the aim of the study was to identify the risks of the waste plastic pyrolysis process and suggest appropriate safety management measures. We collected information on 19 cases of fire and explosion accidents that occurred between 2010 and 2021 at 26 waste plastic pyrolysis plants using the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) database and media reports. The mechanical, managerial, personnel-related, and environmental problems within a plant and problems related to government agencies and the design, manufacturing, and installation companies involved with pyrolysis equipment were analyzed using the 4Ms of Machines, Management, Man, and Media, as well as the System-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP) methodology for seven accident cases with accident investigation reports. Study findings indicate the need for establishing legal and institutional support measures for waste plastic pyrolysis plants in order to prevent fire and explosion accidents in the pyrolysis process. In addition, ensuring safety from the design and manufacturing stages of facilities is essential, as are measures that ensure systematic operations after the installation of safety devices.

The Effect of Executive Safety Leadership on Workplace Hazard Levels: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of the Supervisor Role (경영진의 안전리더십이 작업장 유해위험수준에 미치는 영향: 관리감독자 안전보건 역할의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Executive safety leadership is essential to prevent accidents in the workplace. However, will safety be secured by emphasizing only executive safety leadership to workers? In this study, the impact of executive safety leadership on the workplace hazard level was analyzed by adding the supervisor's safety role as a mediating variable. This paper shows that executive safety leadership has no direct effect on workplace hazard levels. However, executive safety leadership was found to have a significant impact on the supervisor safety role, and the supervisor safety role was found to lower the hazard levels in the workplace. In summary, executive safety leadership was found to reduce the hazard levels in the workplace through the full mediating effect of the supervisor safety role. Based on these research results, this study seeks to present the following recommendations to the government and management: The government should ensure that a workplace safety and health system is established by strengthening the effects of other mediating factors, such as strengthening the role of supervisors who are actually responsible for workplace safety and health. Executives must grant supervisors actual authority and responsibility to properly perform their safety roles and establish personnel and performance evaluation systems.

  • This study considered about an attitude and a role of a female banker. It is the purpose of this study to present problems and to suggest directions through empirical research because a female banker offers service directly for National welfare. The research findings are as follows : (1) A female banker They have to work with a pride and a sense of duty which they serve for society. (2) Bank's inside organization A strong leadership of a manager and a rational management of personnel system are needed. (3) A labor union It must lay stress on enlargement of welfare work and understand opinion of a union member.

  • Recently various construction management systems are applied for more efficient project management, and through them as-built construction information is collected. However, the accuracy of the collected information shows big differences among projects, since tile collection of tile as-built information is not based on objective manner or criteria and also each management personnel uses difference criteria on this based on individual experiences. This initiates the need for a development of methods and information frameworks for efficient collection and management of as-built information with assurance of data accuracy. Therefor the objective of this study is to suggest a method to determine the task performance measurement unit depending on the characteristics of work types. A prototype system was developed for generating task performance measurement units by utilizing MS ACCESS. The information framework and the system developed in this research is expected to help standardized performance measurements across projects by improving the objectivity and the accuracy of the collected information.

Hospital Nutrition Services I : Organization, Personnel and Productivity of Nutrition Department (의료기관 영양서비스 현황 I : 영양부서 조직.인력체계 및 작업생산성)

  • To evaluate the infra structure supporting hospital nutrition services, we conducted a survey on the unit of organization, unit of dietitians work system, number of personnel engaged on nutrition services, productivity of food service, management of dietitians works, computerization of nutrition services etc. Total ninety-six hospitals were participated in the survey, and they were varied in terms of hospital classification, location, number of beds and type of food service management. All of the large hospitals with more than 400 beds conducted nutrition services under the department of nutrition, but some of the middle and small hospitals with less than 400 beds conducted nutrition services under the other department such as administration. In most of the tertiary hospitals, the work of dietitians were separated in which food services and medical nutrition services were conducted independently by different dietitians, whereas, in most of general hospitals and all the hospital, food services and medical nutrition services were conducted by the same dietitians in all time. The numbers of dietitians and cooks per 100 beds were fewer in the large hospitals with more than 400 beds than the hospitals with less than 400 beds, and the number of cooking and meal serving assistants were the just opposit. The average productivity of food service was 44.5 meals per hour for each dietitian, 84.8 meals per hour for a cook and 7.0 meals per hour for a cooking and meal serving assistant. The productivities for dietitians and cooks tend to be higher in large hospitals than middle and small hospitals, whereas the productivities for cooking and meal serving assistants were just opposite. The large hospitals seemed to solve the problem on the lack of working personnels by hiring part-time workers and by utilization of computer system for their works. The pattern of daily work management in food service area was not much different between dietitians duties, but the pattern of daily work management in medical nutrition service area was different in a way which the analysis of patients nutrient intakes was almost not conducted by dietitians handling both food services and medical nutrition services. Therefore, this study demonstrates that there are significant differences in the infra structures conducting nutrition services among hospitals, suggesting that the strategies to improve this improve this structure in relation to the improvement of service qualities need to be investigated in the future.   • This study investigates the awareness about competency assessment of the candidates for fourth class promotion, the competency factors and its operation, so that we find its problems and solutions. We carried out a questionnaire survey targeting the 64 candidates in April 2016. The results of this study are as follows. First, the candidates think that competency assessment system is helpful in improving reliability and fairness of promotion system and in eradicating nepotism. Second, the required competency factors needed to perform the role of fourth class public official are direction guidance, fostering, communication, integrative thinking, achievement management and power of execution in sequence. Third, in managing the competency assessment system, compulsory competency is considered more importantly than differentiated competency. Fourth, the candidates think that the competency assessment system can be applied advantageously to particular groups. Fifth, sufficient training period and information about the competency assessment system should be provided to solve the many problems caused by the lack of advance information about the system.

A Study of Optimization in the Queue, Finite Population (유한모집단 대열기법에 의한 최적화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to search for an efficient application method in solving delay-phenomenon problems which influence upon total production cost through case study. The method of this study is an experimental study based on cutting time data in lead cutting operations from "Lead Cutting Machine (Stripper)" and its service rate data from a large electronic products company which utilizes conveyor line system for the products "Car Stereo" The procedure of this experimental study is as follows; 1) Using loading(Man-Hour) analysis technique j,1 order to analyse and evaluate Production capacity, efficiency, operation and idle rate assembly charge, waiting and service cost -when its are controlled by stripper operator(server) 2) Establishing adequate waiting time model of finite population caused by the interference of 4 stripper machine which is drawn from mathematical statistics testing, that is, goodness of fit test in the waiting and service rate and to search for optimal solution by utilizing the above mentioned model The experimental result was that amount to 8,546,618won Per year was brought down, that is, by optimum point, it shows a decrease as compared with Present point. The major limitation of this experimental study is that the Queue in the Finite Population, so to speak. it comes from the interference of 4 stripper machine dealt with this case were limited only on the Car Stereo conveyor line. Further study of application of this application method to the areas such as material handling, personnel management marketing and transportation management is strong1y recommended.trong1y recommended.
