  • As a result of the project 'Development of core technology for open LBS', we developed several solutions such as personal navigation system, mobile game, and emergency system. In this paper, we explain the approach and architecture of these solutions and consider their meaning on spatial information bases and expectation in the future computing environments. The final goal of this suggested solution is to test the efficiency of our open LBS system and verify the applicability and usability in real application environments. Our approaches will be headed to the future ubiquitous computing environments.

  • CNC Grinding Center is developed to improve the flexibility of grinding process and to obtain the high machine accuracy in grinding processes.   • The purpose of the research is to solve the problem of automating time & schedule management by the user in office or development environment. Maintaining timelog manually is difficult task for the users that are following the Personal Software Process (PSP).   • The author presents the history of introduction of biofeedback system into Korea, depending on his personal experience at the Seoul National University Hospital. He, as the witness of biofeedback applied to clinical psychiatry and research in Korea, maintains that biofeedback should receive much more attention filled with enthusiasm, particularly because of the rapid development of medical engineering backed up by the unimaginable progress of computer- and neuro-science.

  • This paper embodies the agent based cinder monitoring system which supports PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). Monitoring system automatically manages data by using data managing agents such as a state managing agent, a location managing agent, a badness managing agent, a circumstances managing agent, etc, and uses a massive data processing agent to manage massive data. The development of agent based data monitoring system for the stable cinder reuse will be an epoch-making method to develop the process mechanized or manual-labored that widely spreads into the real-time automated process.

  • This paper describes a on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis system designed for the automation of a medium-size concrete plant. The system is based on the structure of a hardware system of data acquisition and a personal computer. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the system operation. It applies the preconstructed rules to the plant data for the diagnosis of weighing processes.

  • Generally, Industrial robots are often controlled using joint processors and treating each joint as an independent servo loop. This paper presents a system architecture for robot control designed for real-time control of motion and sensory processing utilizing general-purpose Personal Computer. And for easily use and system expendability, robot language is implemented with C-language as base language. Through this system user can easily update robot language by design of his own language primitives. This system also don't require another development tool and can be used as advanced algorithm simulator in robotics laboratories.

  • This paper presents the design of a prototype robot and architecture of a distributed control system. The robot, named as KAEROT, has been developed for the purpose of the reduction of personal radiation exposure and the remote maintenance tasks in nuclear facilities. The mobile system with robotic manipulator has been designed to go up and down stairs. For the dextrous handling, this manipulator will be designed as a redundant type to act like a human arm. Manipulator control system is to be extended easily for further usage with a modular architecture to get independency and reliability by minimizing EMI effects.

  • A semiconductor process imulator operated in windows$^{TM}$ environment has been developed. two-dimensional process simulation in personal computer has been enabled due to the improvement of CPU speed and the efficient use of memory. The process simulator in this paper is capable of calculating diffusion, oxidation, ion implantation, etching and deposition in two-dimensional manner. In addition, graphic-user-friendly editor, parser, and multi-dimensional graphical routine is also available in the devloped simulator.
