Acoustic Characteristic of Emergency Broadcasting Speakers (비상방송용 스피커의 음향 특성 비교)

  • In this study, the acoustic characteristics of 13 types of emergency broadcasting speakers were tested under the test set-up of UL 2043 and compared. When the sound pressure level of 1 W speakers was compared with speakers with a 15 W output, the SPL of the 15 W speakers was approximately 20 dB higher in some frequency bands. Loudness analysis showed that people can recognize emergency sound from a 15 W speaker twice as loud as the emergency sound from 1 W speakers. The analysis results on the articulation index (room) had an opposite tendency with loudness results, meaning that small speakers can generate clearer sound. Therefore, it is necessary to improve emergency broadcasting speakers to generate louder and clearer sound. Moreover, a performance evaluation standard is needed based on the reasonable and quantitative measurements and evaluations of the acoustic characteristics of the emergency-broadcasting speakers so that a sufficient and clear sound can be generated in various spaces. In addition, it is necessary to establish standards for the clarity of emergency broadcasting in various spaces.

Evaluation of Energy Dependency for Air Kerma Area Product by RQR Beam Quality and Indirect Calibration (RQR 선질에 따른 공기커마 면적선량계의 에너지 의존성 평가와 간접 교정)

  • According IEC 60601-1 ed3.1 and IEC 60601-2-45 regulation, diagnostic X-ray equipment should be display to measured and calculated air kerma area product. On the clinical X ray equipment, air kerma area product dosimeter would like to have an evidence for dosimeter accuracy and energy dependency. This study was performed to indirect calibration and energy dependency test for attached type air kerma area product (KAP) dosimeter by RQR standards beam quality. On the RQR5 beam quality, attached KAP dosimeter error showed -7.5%, respectably. On the RQR9 beam quality, attached KAP dosimeter error showed -10.4%, respectably. All RQR beam quality, average absolute error was $8.30%{\pm}2.85%$, respectably. On this study, attached KAP dosimeter was satisfied to IEC 60580 and AAPM TG 190. This calibration method of KAP dosimeter will help to performance maintain for clinical KAP dosimeter.

  • There are several types of petroleum products used for the fuel oil, according to their respective quality standards, grades and usage. Depending on the degree of oil tax rate by country, even the same petroleum products will have price gap. The illegal mixing of cheap petroleum products, which are subject to the lower tax rate, with relatively expensive transportation fuel causes problems such as tax evasion, environmental pollution and vehicle breakdown. In order to prevent illicit production and mixing of these different petroleum products, a small amount of markers are legally added to specific petroleum products. In Korea, markers are introduced and used to prevent illegal activity that kerosene used as fuel for house and commercial boiler are mixed with automotive diesel fuels, and marker contents are analyzed to use UV-Vis spectrophotometer and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). In this study, we have developed a method to qualitatively and quantitatively determine the marker added to petroleum products by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) without adding developing reagent or sample pre-treatments.

An Empirical Study on Effective Relation among Trust, Camaraderie, and Pride Perceived by Employees of an R&D Institute : on the Basis of GPTW Trust Index (연구개발조직 구성원이 인식하는 신뢰, 동료애, 자부심의 영향관계에 대한 실증연구 : GPTW 신뢰지수를 중심으로)

  • As a public research institute, government-supported institutes have led the industrial development and the advancement of science and technology in Korea. Robert Levering has annually selected 'Fortune 100 GPTW(Great Place to Work)' by measuring the Trust Index which was originated by himself. The objectives of this study are to attempt newly to analyze the inter-relations among 5 elements of GPTW trust index such as credibility, respect, fairness, camaraderie, and pride perceived by the K institute's 262 employees; to verify that GPTW trust index is valid for the selection of the fortune 100 GPTW. Amart PLS 2.0 and SPSS 18 were utilized for the statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Credibility has positive effect to pride; respect has positive effect to pride and camaraderie; fairness has positive effect to camaraderie; and camaraderie has positive to pride. Pride and camaraderie have positive effect to the perceived GPTW. Recent studies mainly focused on the relations between GPTW trust index as independent, mediating variables or parameters and organizational performances. It is meaningful that this study has firstly tried to analyze the inter-relations among 5 elements of the trust index for the employees of research institute. This study has implication that the in order to enhance the performance the institute has to manage GPTW trust index perceived by the employees.

Analyzing the Trends of Development Evaluation in South Korea : Focusing on the Ex-Post Evaluation Reports of KOICA (1998-2016) (한국의 무상원조 평가 동향 연구: KOICA 사후평가 보고서 분석을 중심으로 (1998-2016))

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the ex-post evaluation reports of KOICA's grant aid project in terms of criteria, methods, and contents. To this end, we will examine the evaluation history and process with particular reference to EDCF and KOICA. Our key research questions are: 1) How are the evaluation standards of the OECD DAC reflected in the KOICA ex-post evaluation reports? 2) Whether did Korea's practices of development evaluation change after its entry into the OECD DAC. The paper attempted an content analysis on the key words used in findings and recommendation section of the reports since 1998 that ara available on the website of KOICA. The main results can be summarized as follows. First, the frequency of OECD DAC criteria(relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, sustainability) and the use of quantitative methods have been increasing after joining the OECD DAC. Second, in the ex-post evaluation reports issued after 2010, the reference indices including the Project Design Matrix (PDM), baseline data, and performance have increased exponentially.

Analytical Research on Dynamic Behavior of Steel Composite Lower Railway Bridge (강합성 하로 철도교의 동적거동에 대한 해석적 연구)

  • The existing middle-long span railway bridge has been mainly applied to steel box girder bridges. However, the steel box girder bridges have disadvantages in securing the space under the bridge, and the main girder is made of a thin plate box shape, resulting in a ringing noise due to the vibration. Many complaints about noise have been raised. For this reason, there is a need for the development of long railway bridges that can replace steel box girder bridges. In this paper, the characteristics of the steel composite railway bridge currently developed were introduced and a time history analysis was conducted using MIDAS Civil reflecting the speed of KTX load for 40m and 50m bridges. In addition, from the analysis results, the dynamic behavior of target bridges were verified and it was examined whether they meet the dynamic performance criteria proposed in the railway design standards. As a result, all of the bridges under review satisfied the dynamic safety criteria, however, in case of 40m of span, the vertical acceleration value was very large. In order to solve this problem, authors proposed the improvement plan and corrected the cross section to confirm that the vertical acceleration decreased.

  • In the early 1990s, IETF(Internet Engineering TaskForce) had started the discussion on new address protocol that can modify and supplement various drawbacks of existing IPv4 address protocol with the introduction of CIDR(Classless Inter-Domain Routing) which is a temporary solution for IPv4 address depletion, NAT, private IP address. While various standards related to new address protocol has been proposed, the SIPP(Simple Internet Protocol Plus) was adopted among them because it is regarded as the most promising solution. And this protocol has been developed into current IPv6. The new concepts are introduced with modifying a lot of deficiencies in the exisitng IPv4 such as real-time data processing, performance on QoS, security and the efficiency of routing. Since many security threats in IPv6 environment still exist, the necessity of stable data communication environment has been brought up continuously. This paper deveopled one-way communication algorithm in IPv6 based on the high possibility of protecting the system from uncertain and potential risk factors if the data is transmitted in one way. After the analysis of existing IPv6 and ICMPv6, this paper suggests one-way communication algorithm as a solution for existing IPv6 and ICMPv6 environment.

  • Controllers used in nuclear power plants require high reliability. A controller including a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and a Complex Programmable Logic Device (referred to hereinafter as FPGA) has been applied to many Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) in the past, including the APR1400 (Advanced Power Reactor 1400), a Korean digital nuclear power plant. Initially, the FPGA was considered as a general IC (Integrated Circuit) and verified only by device verification and performance testing. In the 1990s, research on FPGA verification began, and until the FPGA became a chip, it was regarded as software and the software Verification and Validation (V&V) using IEEE 1012-2004 was implemented. Currently, IEC 62566, which is a European standard, has been applied for a lot of verification. This method has been evaluated as the most sensible method to date. This is because the method of verifying the characteristics of SoC (System on Chip), which has been a problem in the existing verification method, is sufficiently applied. However, IEC 62566 is a European standard that has not yet been adopted in the United States and maintains the application of IEEE 1012 for FPGA. IEEE 1012-2004 or IEC 62566 is a technical standard. In practice, various methods are applied to meet technical standards. In this paper, we describe the procedure and important points of verification method of Nuclear Safety Class FPGA applying SoC verification method.

Nonlinear Impact Analysis for Eco-Pillar Debris Barrier with Hollow Cross-Section (중공트랙단면 에코필라 사방댐의 비선형 충돌해석)

  • In this study, a nonlinear impact analysis was performed to evaluate the safety and damage of an eco-pillar debris barrier with a hollow cross-section, which was proposed to improve constructability and economic efficiency. The construction of concrete eco-pillar debris barriers has increased recently. However, there are no design standards concerning debris barriers in Korea, and it is difficult to find a study on performance evaluations in extreme environments. Thus, an analysis of an eco-pillar debris barrier was done using the rock impact speed, which was estimated from the debris flow velocity. The diameters of rocks were determined by ETAG 27. The impact position, angles, and rock diameter were considered as variables. A concrete nonlinear material model was applied, and the estimation of damage was done by ABAQUS software. As a result, the damage ratio was found to be less than 1.0 at rock diameters of 0.3 m and 0.5 m, but it was 1.39 when the diameter was 0.7 m. This study could be used as basic data on impact force in the design of the cross section of an eco-pillar debris barrier.

The Research Trend Analysis of the Korean Journal of Physical Education using Mecab-ko Morphology Analyzer (Mecab-ko 형태소 분석을 이용한 한국체육학회지 연구동향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of research fields are preferred by the researcher of the Korean Physical Education Society using the Mecab-ko morpheme analysis and whether there are differences in the interests of researchers between the humanities and social sciences and natural sciences. A total of the data collected for this study are 5,014 papers published online from March 2002 to March 2017 in the Korean Journal of Physical Education was collected. In this study, we used Mecab-ko morpheme analyzer to extract the keyword from the collected documents. As a result, the study found that the number of papers published in KAHPERD appeared to be decreasing. It was also that the main concern of researchers in KAHPERD toward was leisure, live sports and health were relatively higher than the improvement of performance. The research subjects that were interested in the research were women, middle-aged and elderly. The study found that researchers in the humanities and social sciences have shown interest in both traditional research and social interests, while researchers in the natural sciences have shown an interest in a deeper study of traditional research. In conclusion, in order to realize the revitalization of sports convergence research, it is necessary to establish standards for the field of study which should focus on the depth and breadth of research.
