성대마비의 음성장애 측정을 위한 청지각적 및 음향학적 평가 (Auditory-Perceptual and Acoustic Evaluation in Measuring Dysphonia Severity of Vocal Cord Paralysis)

  • Background and Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the criterion-related concurrent validity of two standardized auditory-perceptual assessments and the Acoustic Voice Quality Index (AVQI) for measuring dysphonia severity in patients with vocal cord paralysis (VCP). Materials and Methods : Total 210 patients with VCP and 236 normal voice subjects were asked to sustain the vowel [a:] and to read aloud the Korean text "Walk". A 2 second mid-vowel portion of the sustained vowel and two sentences (with 26 syllables) were recorded. And then voice samples were edited, concatenated, and analyzed according to Praat script. Two standardized auditory-perceptual assessment (GRBAS and CAPE-V) were performed by three raters. Results : The VCP group showed higher AVQI, Grade (G) and Overall Severity (OS) values than normal voice group. And the correlation among AVQI, G, and OS ranged from 0.904 to 0.926. In ROC curve analysis, cutoff values of AVQI, G, and OS were <3.79, <0.00, and <30.00, respectively, and the AUC of each analysis was over .89. Conclusion : AVQI and auditory evaluation can improve the early screening ability of VCP voice and help to establish effective diagnosis and treatment plan for VCP-related dysphonia.

군중에서의 캐릭터 복제에 관한 지각체제화 기반 사용자 인지 (User Perception on Character Clone of Crowds based on Perceptual Organization)

  • MMORPG 게임이나 가상환경에서 대규모 군중이 등장할 때 군중을 구성하는 수많은 캐릭터들을 신속하고 편리하게 생성하기 위한 방법론으로서 캐릭터 외형과 동작의 복제가 제시되고 있다. McDonnell[1] 등은 인지실험을 통해 사용자가 동작보다 얼굴 모양, 상의, 하의 등 신체의 외형 변화에 민감하게 반응한다는 결과를 보였다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 게임 환경에서 중요한 역할을 하는 캐릭터 아이템과 군중 이동 패턴의 2가지 요소를 이용하여 캐릭터를 복제하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법을 이론적으로 검증하기 위하여 인지심리학 분야의 지각체제화 개념을 도입하고 아이템에 다양한 형태와 색상 및 패턴 요소, 장착 위치 및 복잡도를 적용함으로써 아이템을 통한 군중의 다양화가 가능함을 보였다. 또한, 다중 캐릭터 복제 쌍의 이동 방향과 상대적인 거리, 군중 속에 존재하는 그룹의 규모, 그룹간의 거리 등에 따라 변화하는 사용자의 인지를 실험하여 캐릭터의 허용 가능한 복제 범위를 제시한다.

청각장애 아동의 음운인식 능력과 단어확인 능력의 상관연구 (A Study of Correlation Between Phonological Awareness and Word Identification Ability of Hearing Impaired Children)

  • Hearing impairment children possess poor underlying perceptual knowledge of the sound system and show delayed development of segmental organization of that system. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between phonological awareness ability and word identification ability in hearing impaired children. 14 children with moderately severe hearing loss participated in this study. All tasks were individually administered. Phonological awareness tests consisted of syllable blending, syllable segmentation, syllable deletion, body-coda discrimination, phoneme blending, phoneme segmentation and phoneme deletion. Close-set Monosyllabic Words(12 items) and lists 1 and 2 of open-set Monosyllabic Words in EARS-K were examined for word identification. Results of this study were as follows: First, from the phonological awareness task, the close-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with the coda discrimination, phoneme blending and phoneme deletion. The open-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with phoneme blending, phoneme deletion and phoneme segmentation. Second, from the level of phonological awareness, the close-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with the level of body-coda awareness and phoneme awareness while the open-set word identification showed a high positive correlation only with the level of phoneme awareness.

정서 정보가 생물형운동자극의 시지각 및 작업기억에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotional Information on Visual Perception and Working Memory in Biological Motion)

  • 기존의 사회인지와 정서 연구들은 주로 얼굴자극을 이용하여 초기지각단계 및 후기인지과정에의 정서 효과를 조사해 왔다. 그러나, 정서의 효과가 정보처리과정의 각 단계에서 어떤 양상으로 나타나는지와, 정서유형에 따른 효과 양상의 변화 여부는 불확실하다. 본 연구에서는 얼굴 대신 생물형운동자극을 이용해 자극에 내포된 행복, 분노, 중립정서가 지각과제와 작업기억과제 수행에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 참가자는 연달아(지각과제) 또는 시간차를 두고(작업기억과제) 제시되는 두 생물형운동의 동일 여부를 판단하였다. 지각과제에서는 정서가를 가진 자극 시행의 정확도가 중립정서자극에 비해 낮아 정서정보가 초기지각처리에는 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 보였으나, 작업기억과제에서의 기억정보유지에는 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 각 과제에서 정서유형에 따라 다른 수행 양상이 관찰되었다. 분노정서는 지각단계에서 더 많은 정신적 자원을 요구하여 부하가 증가할 경우 정확도가 낮아지지만 기억유지에는 긍정적으로 작용하는 것으로 보이며. 행복정서의 경우 중립정서가 이어서 제시될 때 이를 행복정서와 유사하게 처리하려는 편향을 유도하는 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 생물형운동자극을 이용하여 정보처리과정에서의 정서 영향을 재확인하였고, 처리단계별 및 정서 종류별로 다른 양상의 영향이 나타난다는 점을 추가로 밝혀, 정서정보의 정교한 조작 및 통제를 위한 유용한 단서를 제공한다.

휴대용 전산화 인지훈련 시스템이 경도인지손상이 있는 뇌졸중 환자의 시지각에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Portable Computerized Cognitive Training System on the Visual-perceptual Function of Stroke Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment : A Pilot Study)

  • 본 연구는 휴대용 전산화 인지훈련 시스템이 경도 인지손상이 있는 뇌졸중 환자의 시지각에 미치는 효과를 알고자 하였다. 재활병원에 입원 중인 경도인지손상이 있는 12명의 뇌졸중 환자가 본 연구에 참여하였다. 모든 대상자들은 실험군과 대조군으로 6명씩 할당되었다. 모든 대상자들은 실험군 또는 대조군의 훈련을 하루 30분, 주 5회, 4주 동안 수행하였다. 실험군은 휴대용 전산화 인지훈련 시스템을 실시하였으며, 대조군은 보편적인 인지훈련을 수행하였다. 시지각을 측정하기 위하여, MVPT-3(Motor-Free Visual Perception-3)을 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 두 군은 중재 전과 후로 MVPT-3 total score에서 유의한 향상을 보였다(p<.05). 두 군 간 변화량 비교에서 실험군은 대조군보다 MVPT-3 total score와 visual short-term memory of sub-item of MVPT-3에서 유의하게 더 큰 향상을 보였다(p<.05). 이러한 결과는 휴대용 전산화 인지훈련 시스템이 경도인지손상이 있는 뇌졸중 환자의 시지각 능력 향상에 긍정적인 효과를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 중재방법이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

Speech processing strategy and executive function: Korean children's stop perception

  • The current study explored how Korean-speaking children processed the multiple acoustic cues (VOT and f0) for the stop laryngeal contrast (/t'/, /t/, and /$t^h$/) and examined whether individual perceptual strategies could be related to a general cognitive ability performing executive functions (EF). 15 children (aged from 7 to 8) participated in the speech perception task identifying the three Korean laryngeal stops (3AFC) on listening to the auditory stimuli of C-/a/ with synthetically varying VOT and f0. They completed a series of EF tasks to measure working memory, inhibition, and cognitive shifting ability. The findings showed that children used the two cues in a highly correlated manner. While children utilized VOT consistently for the three laryngeal categories, their use of f0 was either reduced or enhanced depending on the phonetic categories. Importantly, the children's processing strategies of a f0 suppression for a tense-aspirated contrast were meaningfully associated with children's better cognitive abilities such as working memory, inhibition, and attentional shifting. As a preliminary experimental investigation, the current research demonstrated that listeners with inefficient processing strategies were poor at the EF skills, suggesting that cognitive skills might be responsible for developmental variations of processing sub-phonemic information for the linguistic contrast.

디지털감각지각훈련프로그램이 발달장애 아동의 손기능과 시각-운동 통합 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Digital Sensory Perceptual Training on Hand Function and Visual-Motor Integration in Children with Developmental Disabilities)

  • Purpose : This study examined the hand function and visual motor integration capabilities in 30 children with developmental disabilities. The children were divided into an experimental group (n=20) that received digital sensory perception training and a control group (n=10) that did not receive this training. Methods : Training was conducted a total of 12 times for six weeks, for 50 minutes a day, twice a week, for the experimental group. The Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test was used to determine the hand function before and after the intervention, and the Beery VMI-6 was performed to identify the visual motor integration capability. Results :After the intervention, the ability to perform hand functions and visual motor interaction increased significantly in the experimental group but not in the control group. Digital sensory training therefore had a positive effect on the hand function and visual motor integration in children with developmental disabilities. Conclusion : A digital sensory perception training program is an arbitration method that can positively improve the hand function and visual motor integration ability in children with developmental disabilities.

Human Laughter Generation using Hybrid Generative Models

  • Laughter is one of the most important nonverbal sound that human generates. It is a means for expressing his emotions. The acoustic and contextual features of this specific sound are different from those of speech and many difficulties arise during their modeling process. During this work, we propose an audio laughter generation system based on unsupervised generative models: the autoencoder (AE) and its variants. This procedure is the association of three main sub-process, (1) the analysis which consist of extracting the log magnitude spectrogram from the laughter database, (2) the generative models training, (3) the synthesis stage which incorporate the involvement of an intermediate mechanism: the vocoder. To improve the synthesis quality, we suggest two hybrid models (LSTM-VAE, GRU-VAE and CNN-VAE) that combine the representation learning capacity of variational autoencoder (VAE) with the temporal modelling ability of a long short-term memory RNN (LSTM) and the CNN ability to learn invariant features. To figure out the performance of our proposed audio laughter generation process, objective evaluation (RMSE) and a perceptual audio quality test (listening test) were conducted. According to these evaluation metrics, we can show that the GRU-VAE outperforms the other VAE models.

직무분석을 통한 회전익 항공기 조종사 적성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Aptitude for Helicopter Pilots through the Job Analysis)

  • The operational environment of helicopters extends from the civil air traffic control system to remote and hazardous areas and from day operations under visual flight conditions to night operations in adverse weather. Helicopters can move in any direction, remain stationary while airborne, climb and descend vertically, and take off and land almost anywhere. Thus their range of maneuvers and control requirements vary more widely than do those of fixed-wing aircraft. In this study, I analyzed the job of helicopter pilot through methods of observation, and classified the required ability of them into the domain of cognitive, perceptual/spatial, psychomotor. I expect that the result of this study will be used to aid training and selection of helicopter pilot.

감각조절장애 아동에 대한 가정 프로그램의 적용 - 사례연구 (The Home-based Program for Child with Sensory Modulation Disorder: Case Study)

  • Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the home-based program composed of sensory diet for child with sensory modulation disorder. Method: The subject underwent the home-based program composed of sensory diet for 8 months. Evaluation tools we used are the Developmental Screening Test II(DDSTII) for developmental screening; the Short Sensory Profile(SSP), clinical observation and the clinical history record form for sensory integrative function; the Motor-Free Visual Perception Test(MVPT) and draw a person test for visual perception. Evaluation was executed before and after the program is provided. Results: The subject has showed remarkable improvement in developmental level, sensory integrative function and visual perceptual ability after went through the home-based program. Conclusion: The home-based program composed of sensory diet is effective for children with sensory modulation disorder when it is difficult to apply classical sensory integrative approach.
