This study was to investigate the dffects of a color reversal visual perceptual training program on spastic cerebral palsied children's figure-ground discrimination disabilities and to investigate the difference between the control group and experimental group. Subjects of the study were composed of children with spastic cerebral palsy whose age varied from five to seven years old, whose I.Q. was over 70 and whose P.Q. was over 70. Implication of this study can be summarized as follows; First, Perceptual training and speech training programs should be emphasized to improve the preparative ability of spastic cerebral palsied children. Problems of perception cerebral palsied children are concerned with figure-ground discrimination disability. Second, Though it was demonstrated that color reversal visual perceptual training program can be effective through the prestudies and this study, more researches should be made to apply this kind of theory in real education environments. More interest in different color forms for training of cerebral palsied children should be taken. Third, Reprecations of the study should be considered with modified group identities(age, I.Q., P.Q.).

Purpose : The purpose of this experiment is to find out the effectiveness which exert influence on cognitive skills by using the Driver Rehabilitation program for senior citizens who are over 65 years old and live in Busan. Method : From July first, 2014 to August 28th, 2014, we researched the 60 elderly people who are over 65 and go to community relief center which is in Busan. - 30 are experimental group and the other is control group. In the experimental group, we used Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in the model road. For estimation, we used MVPT-3(Motor-Free Visual Perception Test-3), Trail Making Test - 1, Trail making Test - 2 and LOTCA(Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment). Result : Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road results efficient visual perception ability. This programs results effectively in visual perception ability and space perception ability. This programs results effectively in motor apraxia ability. This programs results effectively in control ability for visual perception. This programs results effectively in thinking operation. Conclusion : Nintendo Wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road positively influence improving for visual perceptual ability and cognitive function of elderly people. Also it is considered as being more efficient for improving visual perceptual ability and cognitive function to implement basic rehabilitation training with driving rehabilitation program than basic training itself.

Purpose : This study examined the effects of driving rehabilitation functional training on visual perception ability and driving reaction velocity. Those subjects were put under MVPT-3 test to see their visual perceptual functions before and after the 4weeks' driving rehabilitation function training and then put to TMT A-type test to see their driving reaction velocity performance. The followings are the results of this study. Methods : Using a driving simulator, driving rehabilitation functional training was performed targeting men and women aged in 20s 20 minutes per time, two times per week, for a month. Results : As for the change in visual perception, the Raw Score of MVPT-3 very significantly increased (p<.01), and the Standard Score also very significantly increased (p<.01). As for the change in reaction velocity, TMT A-type very significantly decreased (p<.01), and TMT B-type also very significantly decreased (p<.01). Conclusion : It could be found that driving rehabilitation functional training should be effective for both visual perception and reaction velocity. Consequently, the driving rehabilitation function training can be applied to clinics as training method for functional recovery and improvement of visual perceptual functions and driving reaction velocity performance ability of the patients. Thus, various functional programs should be studied in the future.
In the present study, we investigated ability of recognition of auditory perception with regards to the quality of voice in postlingual CI adults and proposed a training program to improve within subject reliability. A prospective case-control study was conducted in adults with 7 postlingual deaf who received a CI surgery and 10 normal hearing controls. The pre and post test and training program included parameters of consensus auditory-perceptual evaluation of voice(CAPE-V) with pathological voice sample by using Alvin. In results of pre-post test for monitoring improvements of internal reliability for listeners via the training program, there was statistically significant difference in both test and group. There was statistically significant difference in internal reliability between pre-post test in the normal hearing group, the result was no significant in the CI group. The present study found that CI adults showed less ability in awareness of voice quality compared to normal hearing group. Also the training program improved pitch and loudness in CI adults.
A mixed dysarthria with combinations of hypokinetic, ataxic, and spastic components is a common clinical feature of multiple system atrophy (MSA). Due to the rapid progress of dysarthria after diagnosis, people with MSA experience difficulty with verbal communication, which eventually affects their quality of life negatively. In this study, SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$, an intensive 1:1 treatment of dysarthria for improving functional communicative ability, was provided to twelve people with MSA. To evaluate the efficacy of SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$ in people with MSA, aerodynamic, acoustic, and perceptual analyses were conducted. Pre-and post-therapy data included maximum phonation time, vocal intensity, and fundamental frequency during /a/ sustained phonation and passage reading; frequency range between high /a/ and low /a/ phonation; jitter, shimmer, and HNR for vocal quality; speech rate during passage reading; and perceptual evaluation scores for articulation precision and intonation. The participants achieved statistically significant improvement in vocal intensity, pitch range, vocal quality, speech rate, and speech intelligibility. In conclusion, SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$ is a feasible treatment for people with MSA to efficaciously improve their speech ability.
This study was to investigate the effects of the sensory-motor training program childhood body concept and to investigate the difference between the control group and experimental group. Subjects of the study were compared with children whose age varied from three to four years old, where I.Q was over 100. The major things of this study was as follows, First, sensory-motor training program was effective with regards to body concept improvement among the three-, four-year-old children. Second, both the experimental group trained by sensory-motor program and the control group trained by cognitive-perceptual training program were revealed a meaningful performance. But, sensory-motor program offering subcognitive sensory body experiences yielded higher mean gains in scores than a cognitive-perceptual program. Sensory-motor learning is more effective than verbal learning is promoting body concept reflected in the ability to draw human figures.
Coronal/non-coronal asymmetry refers to the typological trend wherein coronals rather than non-coronals are more likely targets in place assimilation. Although the phenomenon has been accounted for by resorting to the notion of unmarkedness in formalistic approaches to sound patterns, the examination of rules and representations cannot answer why there should be such a process in the first place. Furthermore, the motivation of coronal/non-coronal asymmetry has remained controversial to date even in the field of phonetics. The present study investigated the listeners' perception of coronal and non-coronal stops in the context of $VC_{1}C_{2}V$ after critically reviewing the three types of phonetic accounts for coronal/non-coronal asymmetry, i.e., articulatory, perceptual, and gestural overlap accounts. An experiment was conducted to test whether the phenomenon in question may occur, given the listeners' lack of perceptual ability to identify weaker place cues in VC transitions as argued by Ohala (1990), i.e., coronals have weak place cues that cause listeners' misperception. 5pliced nonsense $VC_{1}C_{2}V$ utterances were given to 20 native speakers of English and Korean. Data analysis showed that majority of the subjects reported $C_{2}\;as\;C_{1}$. More importantly, the place of articulation of C1 did not affect the listeners' identification. Compared to non-coronals, coronals did not show a significantly lower rate of correct identifications. This study challenges the view that coronal/non-coronal asymmetry is attributable to the weak place cues of coronals, providing evidence that CV cues are more perceptually salient than VC cues. While perceptual saliency account may explain the frequent occurrence of regressive assimilation across languages, it cannot be extended to coronal/non-coronal asymmetry.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between cognitive ability and emotional and behavioural problems in a nonclinical sample of 120 preschool children aged 4-5 years. Cognitive ability scores were derived from the 'McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities', and emotional and behavioural problems were measured using quantitative and dimensional method, 'Child Behavior Checklist'. The results from this study support similar findings among older children and clinical populations that lower McCarthy general, verbal, and perceptual-performance IQ scores are associated with internalizing and externalizing emotional and behavioural problems. On the basis of this study, early identification of intellectual deficits among preschool children may help to prevent later school difficulties and severe psychopathology.
Auditory discrimination which represents a very basic and important perceptual skill in children is a necessary condition for effective learning. It is necessary, therefore, to devise a standardized test tool for a reliable assessment of the auditory discrimination ability of children. The Korean Auditory Discrimination Test(KADT) is a tentative test tool that the authors have devised to meet such demand, i.e., to test the auditory discrimination ability of Korean children, both normal and hearing- and speech-impaired, between the ages of 4 and 8. The KADT consists of 40 pairs of words arranged in a systematic manner, of which thirty are 'minimal pairs' of words and the rest homophonous synonyms. The 30 minimal pairs are composed in such a way that major phonological contrasts involving consonants and vowels at initial, medial and final positions are duly represented. The test score will be determined by the number of right responses made by the children. Further attempts will be made to refine and improve KADT in future.
The objective of this study is to examine the factors affecting adolescents' intention to buy e-Learning web site, expecially focuses on the moderating effect of adolescents's conformity. The main results are as follows. First, teacher's ability, personalized service, easy for service search, interaction between students, service revival for joining e-Learning sites affect intention to buy e-Learning web site through perceptual usefulness, except for entertainment. Second, perceptual usefulness has positive effect on intention to buy. Third, According to conformity, personalized service has different effect on perceptual usefulness. The result shows higher in high conformity group than low conformity group. It means e-Learning companies should focus on reference group or special group to effect their marketing strategy on adolescents. Lately, preceded studies investigated using SERVQUAL or SERVERF which were suit to offline. But, this study found e-Learning factors which are suitable to online. So, the factors and the results are more useful to e-Learning companies.
