남녀 중학생의 체형인식 및 식생활 태도와 자아존중감 (Body Perception, Dietary Attitude and Self-Esteem in Middle School Boys and Girls)

  • 경기도 부천 지역에 소재한 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 남녀 학생 1,030명을 대상으로, 2008년 7월 14일부터 7월 21일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS V.12.0 통계 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 여학생이 남학생에 비해 자신을 좀 더 비만한 것으로 인식하고 있었으며 남학생에 비해 좀 더 마른 체형을 이상적 체형으로 인식하고 있었다. 또한, 자각체형과 실제 비만도를 비교하였을 때, 절반 가량의 학생이 자신의 체형에 대하여 왜곡되게 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이 가운데 30% 가량은 실제 상태보다 뚱뚱한 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 대체적으로 여학생이, 그리고 비만할수록 현재의 체중에 대하여 불만족 경향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 식생활태도 점수는 여학생이 남학생 보다 낮았으며, 남녀 각각 비만도 집단별 차이는 없었다. 셋째, 자아존중감 점수는 비만도 집단별로 차이가 나타나 저체중집단이 가장 높았고, 비만집단이 가장 낮았다. 성별 차이는 저체중집단에서만 나타났으며, 남학생이 여학생보다 자아존중감 점수가 높았다. 넷째, 체형인식, 식생활태도, 자아존중감은 남녀 학생 각각 상관관계가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 자신의 체형에 대한 인식이 부정적일수록, 식생활태도가 좋지 않을수록 자아존중감도 낮았다.

메를로-퐁티 현상학으로 본 부석사 공간 연구 (A Study on Space of Pu Sok Sa through Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology)

  • As media technology has made rapid progress, cultures in the world have spread fast. In addition, Korea wave spreading toward the world is taking shape as a brand that represents essential Koreanness. Such tendency has led attempts to seek Koreanness in the field of space design. The desire to escape from the absence of humanity that is based on mechanistic nature view has led a variety of ideas and concepts on space. In particular, concept of phenomenological space centering on human body has been emphasized. Merleau-Ponty found concept of phenomenological space that emphasizes awareness through experience of human body. In this thesis, orientation as situation, temporality as body, depth as consciousness, and correlational orientation which are key concepts of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology were covered. Such concepts were used in analyzing the characteristics of Buseoksa Temple to present essential Koreanness.

쇼트 클립 플랫폼 틱톡(TikTok)에 나타난 보디 포지티브 무브먼트 콘텐츠의 주제 유형 및 표현기법 (A study on the thematic types, expression techniques, and impact of body positive movement content on the short clip platform TikTok)

  • This study examines the rise of the Body Positive Movement on TikTok and its role as a form of online content activism influencing the fashion design and industry. Through a combination of literature review and case study methodology, the study explores the expression techniques and thematic types of Body Positive Movement on TikTok. Reviews of literature, previous studies, online articles, fashion journals, and relevant search terms on TikTok informed a definition of Body Positive Movement and an analysis of its formation and rise. The research findings confirm the impact TikTok content on Body Positive Movement has on the fashion industry in addressing external factors (i.e., 'Appearance', 'Race', 'Aging', 'Physical Disability') and intrinsic factors (i.e., 'Acceptance of Diversity', 'Self-Esteem', 'Rejection of Stereotypes', 'Appropriate Representation', 'Information Provision'). The key external factor , 'Appearance', includes subcategories such as 'Body Shape', 'Body Hair', 'Skin', and 'Facial Features'. TikTok content creators on fashion creatively combine music, emojis, and visual storytelling to exhibit positive self-perception concerning these factors. A significant finding of the study is that short clips predominantly manifesting external factors differentiate into informative or enlightening videos associated with intrinsic factors. The study underscores Body Positive Movement's important influence on the fashion industry from design to presentation.

플러스 사이즈 소비자들의 신체인지와 비만수용태도 및 의복행동에 대한 한국과 미국의 비교문화 연구 (A Cross-Cultural Study of Plus-Size Consumer's Perception of Body, Attitude of Accepting Obesity and Clothing Behaviors in Korea and the US)

  • The purpose of this study was to prove how sociocultural perspective of obesity, differences in consumers' perception of body and attitudes of accepting obesity affected individuals' clothing behaviors through cross-cultural studies. The data collected were composed of 612 Korean and US consumers in the 20's and 30's that had experiences in purchasing plus-size products. The results were as follows. First, BMI index was lower in Korean consumers than the US consumers, but Korean consumers received more stress from being overweight compared to the US consumers, and had a more negative attitude about their body. Second, although Korean consumers had lower BMI index and degrees of obesity than US consumers, they were severely stressed by obesity and were found to have a higher level of dissatisfaction with their bodies. Third, Korean consumers responded more sensitively to obesity and had a tendency to display a more negative attitude regarding obesity, and a more passive dependence on clothing. Forth, differences in the body shape were reflected even in wearing evaluation, and US consumers showed a more positive attitude toward evaluations of size suitability and fitness. Fifth, the plus-size market for Korean consumers was still not active, and most products purchased were generic brands obtained from online shopping malls through the Internet. However, in the case of the US, in which the ratio of obese people is high and the plus-size market is growing, consumers were purchasing plus-size brands through various distribution online and offline channels. Sixth, Korean consumers were less satisfied than US consumers with shops, sizes and fitness; however, they were more satisfied with design factors. Finally, it is expected that this study can offer practical implications for marketers and product developers running plus-size market for young obese consumers in their 20 and 30s.

일부 청소년의 체중조절과 관련된 요인에 관한 연구 -자아존중감, 신체만족도 및 중요도, 신체적 특성과 체형에 대한 인식을 중심으로- (The Factors Associated with Weight Control Experiences among Adolescents - Based on Self-esteem, Body-cathexis, Attitudes toward the Body, Anthropometric Characteristics and Perceptions of Body Shape -)

  • This study was carried out to investigate among adolescents (total=729) the relationship between their self-esteem, body-cathexis, their attitudes toward the importance of their bodies, their anthropometric characteristics, their perceptions of their body shapes and their experiences with weight control. The results are summarized as follows: The mean values for self-esteem and body-cathexis were generally low, but these values were significantly higher among boys than girls (p<0.01-0.001). However the mean values for their attitudes toward the importance of their bodies were relatively high and were significantly higher among girls than boys (p<0.01). The mean values for Percent Ideal Body Weight (PIBW) and Body Mass Index (BMI) were normal and no significant differences between the genders were observed. The distribution of the PIBW and the BMI values showed a higher rate for normal weights among the girls and a higher rate for underweightedness and obesity among the boys (p<0.01). With regard to their perception of their body image, among the boys, their current figures were almost identical with their idea of an ideal figure, but among the girls, their idea of an ideal figure was thinner than their current figure. The girls were more dissatisfied with their own body image than the boys (p<0.001). Fifty-four percent of the subjects had previous weight control experience, and the girls had significantly more experience than the boys (p<0.001). Their main reason for practising weight control was to lose weight (65.3%) Those who had more weight control experience had lower satisfaction with their body shapes, higher PIBW, higher BMIs or currently had fatter figures. Their standard image of their figures was influenced by TV (40.3%) and friends (36.9%). There was a weakly positive correlation between their self-esteem and their satisfaction with their body shapes, and a weakly negative correlation between their satisfaction with their body shapes and their attitudes toward the importance of their bodies. These results suggest the necessity for an educational program for adolescents as to foster a positive body image. Such a program should consider psychological factors such as self-esteem, satisfaction with body shape and attitudes toward the importance of the body.

초등학교 고학년 학생의 성별, 학년별, 체형인식도와 식행동 및 식품기호도 비교 (Grade and Gender Differences in Dietary Behavior, Food Preference and Perception about Body Image of 4,5 and 6th Grade Students in Elementary School)

  • This study was undertaken to assess grade and gender differences in dietary behavior, food preference and perception about body image of students in 4, 5 and 6th grades in elementary school in Kwangju. Anthropometric data showed that mean height and weight were $137.98{\pm}6.79cm\;32.69{\pm}6.09kg$, in the 4th grade, $144.11{\pm}6.91cm,\;36.88{\pm}7.60kg$ in the 5th grade and $151.52{\pm}7.47cm,\;42.68{\pm}8.06kg$ in the 6th grade. Height and weight of male and female students of each grade were very similar to those of the Korean standard Growth data. Females in the 5th and 6th grades were taller than those in male students, which suggested the height growth spurt in females. Furthermore, both genders showed marked variability even in the same group. All the three different obesity indices(BMI, Rohrer and % of ideal body weight) showed higher value in males than in females consistently. Male respondents desired taller and heavier body shape while females perceived they were heavy and desired only taller and thinner body image. There were significant differences in satisfaction with height, weight and body image by grade(p<0.05). 36.7% of subjects responded that they did not eat despite hunger. In higher grade they felt guilty after eating sweet things. Strikingly, it was noted a small number of students tried to take a diet pills or vomited on purpose. Data on food preference showed that female did not like sweet food and pork. While male students preferred red meat and chicken. Thus result indicated that there was a great difference in food preference by gender.

전시공간에 표현되어진 체(體)지각 개념의 유형고찰 - '움직임'을 중심으로 - (A Study on physical conception expressed in exhibition space -Focused on Movement-)

  • The space where one's body lives is not only a space as the simple environment that is built with the physical factors, but also a space experienced by a movement accompanied by the concept of body perception including mental activities. In this study, the importance of the body is recognized and the meaning of the space of body perception including mental activities is understood. In this manner, the spatial unfolding phase and expression features are to be investigated through a standard of "What do they change?" by grasping those as a flexible space that changes spatial recognition. The following results have been drawn in this study; First, the application of the flexible concept in the space can give rise to the activities of an experiencing person in terms of being the object of spatial experience and appreciation. Also, the application changes a slightly static concept into a relative and dynamic space by introducing the movement. Second, the establishment of a space by a human's movement is accompanied by all perceptions and enables to perceive the space shape, the space itself and mutual communication between the spaces. Third, the expression of the human's movement in the fixed form of space lies in the extension of the fused spacial area with an observer beyond the physical spatial limitation. As human body intervenes in space, the meaning of the space has become more abundant and diverse and the space will be presented as the arena for sensitive and flexible communication as a responsive space that corresponds.

대구, 경북지역 남녀 중학생들의 영양지식, 체형인식 및 식행동에 관한 비교연구 (Comparisons of Nutritional Knowledge, Perception of Body Image and Dietary Behavior between Adolescent Boys and Girls in the Daegu$\cdot$Kyungbuk Area)

  • This study was undertaken to compare the obesity related dietary factors among rural middle school students living in the Daegu.Kyungbuk area. Anthropometric data showed that mean height and weight were 162.7$\pm$8.6cm and 53.9$\pm$9.8kg in 220 male students and 158.4$\pm$6.2cm and 51.0$\pm$7.6kg in 210 female student. Mean BMIs for boys and girls were 19.00$\pm$2.35 and 19.30$\pm$2.45, respectively. 71.36% of male students and 71.9% of female students were underweight by the BMI index. Students who skipped the breakfast were up to 66.8%. The reasons for skipping a meal for both sexes were significantly different. Compared to males, more female respondents felt guilty and depressed related to eating. Furthermore, females were more significantly concerned about body image, diet and body weight (p<0.001), and they were not satisfied with their weight. The sources of information on obesity and diet were radio and TV in males, while females gathered information from magazines and friends. The ideal body weight of male students was heavier than the actual body weight while female students desired a thinner body shape. In conclusion, a different approach for nutrition education based on sex should be developed, and implemented fur adolescents.

초등학교 건강한 학교 만들기 사업에서 수행한 영양 및 신체상 교육 프로그램의 효과 (The Effects of a Nutrition and Body Shape Education Program as Part of Health Promoting Projects in an Elementary School)

  • 본 연구는 지역사회 초등학교 4학년 학생 168명을 대상으로 실시한 건강한 학교 만들기 사업의 일환으로서 교육프로그램이 학생들의 영양지식, 신체상 정립, 식습관, 영양섭취 등에 기여하는지를 조사한 결과이다. 어린이 식생활 실천지침, 건강하고 안전한 식생활, 식품 구성탑, 영양소의 기능과 급원식품, 바람직한 신체상, 어린이 비만과 편식예방 등을 주제로 하여 교실수업, 개인 과제, 교육 인쇄물, 가정통신문, 인터넷, 동영상, 전시회 등을 이용한 교육을 6개월간 시도하였다. 1) 교육 프로그램의 실시 후 대상 초등학생들의 영양지식과 식습관이 향상되어 본 교육 프로그램이 영양지식 뿐 아니라 식습관의 개선에도 도움을 준 것으로 판단되었다. 2) 현재 자신의 모습으로 인지하거나 희망하는 아동 신체상, 건강하다고 생각하거나 미래에 희망하는 청소년의 신체상 등 4가지 신체상의 인지도가 교육 프로그램에 의해 모두 바람직한 방향으로 개선되었다. 3) 남학생에서 영양지식의 총점과 식습관 점수가 유의한 양의 상관관계가 있었고, 전체 학생에서 현재 자신의 신체에 대한 불만족도가 식습관 점수와 유의한 음의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4) 교육 프로그램의 실시에 의해 대상 학생들의 희망 신체상이 바람직한 방향으로 개선되었음에도 불구하고, 여전히 여학생의 현재 또는 미래 희망 신체상은 현재 자신의 모습으로 인지하는 신체상 또는 미래 건강하다고 생각하는 신체상보다 유의하게 마른 모습인 것으로 나타나 날씬함에 대한 사회적 압력이 여학생에게 더 영향을 미치는 것으로 생각된다. 이의 개선을 위해서는 체계적이고 지속적인 신체상 교육이 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다. 5) 영양 섭취 조사 결과, 영양교육에 의해 일부 영양소들의 섭취가 부분적으로 개선된 효과가 있었지만 칼슘, 엽산, 아연, 나트륨, 니아신 등의 영양소는 여전히 섭취가 부족하거나 과다한 것으로 나타나 영양 개선을 위한 지속적이고도 반복적인 교육이 실시되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 학생, 교직원, 학부모, 지역사회 보건공무원이 공동으로 참여한 본 교육 프로그램의 실시를 통해 대상 학생들의 영양지식, 신체상 인식, 식습관, 영양 섭취 등이 전반적으로 유의하게 개선되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 올바른 식생활에 대한 교육과 함께 실시되는 신체상의 정립에 대한 교육은 바람직한 식습관의 형성과 영양상태 개선뿐 아니라 건강증진 효과까지 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 영양 및 올바른 신체상 인식에 관한 교육은 아동기부터 체계적으로 실시되어야 할 것이다.

대학생의 체질량지수, 체형인식, 비만스트레스, 자아존중감에 따른 체중조절행동 예측요인 (Predictors of Weight Control Behavior According to College Students' BMI, Perception of Body Shape, Obesity Stress, and Self-Esteem)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들의 체중조절행동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 C지역 대학에 재학 중인 대학생을 대상으로 자가보고식 설문조사로 시행되었다. 조사기간은 2015.12.01-12.20일 까지였고, 분석대상은 289명 이었다. 자료는 기술적 통계, t-tset, ANOVA, pearson correlation과 stepwise multiple regression으로 분석 하였다. 그 결과 대학생들은 자신의 체형에 대한 인식에 왜곡된 현상이 두드러지며, 특히 타인평가에 의한 체형인식과 비만스트레스, 체중조절경험이 체중조절행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 체중조절행동과의 상관관계에서는 본인체형인식(r=.31, p<.001), 타인평가체형(r=.30, p<.001), 비만스트레스(r=.43, p<.001)등이 체중조절행동과 관련성이 높게 나타났다. 다중회귀분석결과, 체중조절행동에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 비만스트레스(${\beta}=.37$, p<.001), 타인평가체형(${\beta}=.15$, p=.009)이 밀접하게 관련되는 영향요인임을 알 수 있었으며, 이 변수들의 설명력은 20% 인 것으로 나타났다(F=37.30, p<.001). 결론적으로, 대학생의 체형인식에서 타인평가체형, 비만스트레스가 체중조절행동관련 예측요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 예측요인 등을 파악하여 자신의 체형을 객관적으로 판단하여 인식할 수 있고 적절한 체중조절을 할 수 있는 정보제공, 식이와 운동을 격려하는 예방프로그램, 건강교육 및 중재 프로그램의 개발과 실시가 필요하다고 생각된다.
