인사동의 물리적 심리적 이미지의 평가 (An Evaluation on the Physical and Psychological Image of Insa-Dong)

  • This study examines the visitors'evaluations of tourism resources in Insa-dong, which the Seoul metropolitan government has improved recently. This study adopted the method of Importance-Performance Analysis by collecting data through questionnaires. A random sampling of visitors to Insa-dong was conducted in June and July,2001. The survey included questions on the physical and psychological components of Insa-dong's tourism resources. In the case of physical components, eight factors(ancient arts shop, art gallery, atelier, calligraphy shop, pottery arts, traditional tea house, antique shop, traditional clothes) out of thirteen were categorized as 'keeping up the good work'. None of the Physical components was shown as 'low priority'or'possible overkill'. In particular, four factors(restaurant, heritage, Korean-style house and alley, traditional cultural festival) need to be impoved most urgently in terms of visitors'satisfaction. Survey results realize them as high priority in importance but low in performance, thereby designated as, 'concentrate here'. An image of the 'street' showed to be high in importance and identical in performance, so can be categorized between'keeping up the good work'and 'concentrate here'. The results show that unusual outdoor spaces and the festivals of Insa-dong have a significant meaning to the visitors. In the case of psychological components, three factors(general atmosphere experience of unusual atmosphere, appropriateness of stroll time) out of seventeen were categorized as 'keeping up the good work'. Ore factor (shopping) was designated as 'low priority'and not found to be 'possible overkill'. Thirteen factors (various events, possibility of various activity, various flood, richness of play, new experience, education cultural inheritance, parking facilities, resting places, green spaces, meeting places, guide map and information, cleanliness of facilities/convenience) need to be improved mast urgently in terms of visitors' fulfillment. They are perceived as areas of 'concentrate here'. This confirms that attractive events are essential for the recent visitor satisfaction. Furthermore, visitors are not satisfied with its amenity and acccss in Insa-dong despite the improvements. In conclusion, positive impressions, both physical and psychological, should be maintained while factors mentioned to be lacking should be prioritized in order of necessity to improve the image of Insa-dong and solutions need to be found and implemented. The results of this study would be helpful in the planning and management of nsa-dong considering the visitors'requirements.

Dimensions of Experiential Value: Is it the same across Retail Channels?

  • Purpose: While empirical importance of dimensionality of perceived value is widely accepted, our understanding of experiential value dimensions in other retail channels and other cultures has not been explicitly tested. This study attempted to determine if the dimensions of experiential value scale (EVS) by Mathwick, Malhotra, and Rigdon (2001) identified in US catalog and Internet contexts could be applied in other international markets (South Korea) and in other retail channels (department store versus Internet shopping mall). Methodology/Approach: Two data sets, one from 220 department store shoppers and the other from 359 Internet shopping mall shoppers, were analyzed. Findings: Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed four different EVS dimensions by retail channels. Overall, entertainment and intrinsic enjoyment values were found to be more important in department store while economic and efficiency value dimensions were interpreted critical in Internet shopping mall context. Visual appeal aspect constitutes distinct value dimension in two channels. Practical Implications: One separate dimension of time efficiency in Internet shopping mall suggests that more efficient web design and functions that can save time and promote convenience are needed to better accommodate their customers. Internet has heavily relied on traditional attributes, such as factual information, price comparability, and brand name reliance. However, this study suggests that Internet shopping mall retailer should offer visual diversion and stimulation just as brick and mortar shopping malls do. Originality /Value of Paper: Although the research findings must be viewed as tentative because the results are from one country, they provide a rich basis for further understanding the dimensions of experiential value in other international markets and other retail channels. 난백 마요네즈의 개발을 위한 주부들의 마요네즈 소비실태 및 난백 마요네즈의 물성과 관능적 특성 (A Study on the Mayonnaise Consumption Pattern of Housewives and Sensory and Physical Properties of Egg-white Mayonnaise)

  • The study was carried out to investigate housewive's consumption pattern and preference of mayonnaise for the development of egg-white mayonnaise. Data was collected from 515 housewives in Ulsan by self-administered questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS package program. The results were as follows: 1. Most(98.1%) of housewives were concerned about nutrition and health and they considered that nutrition was the most important factor when purchasing food related items. 2. The frequency of using processed foods was two to three times a week and the reason for use it was the convenience. Usually the housewives obtained nutrition related information through mass media such as TV, radio(37.5%) , and newspaper, magazine(32.1%). 3. 75.9% of the subjects thought mayonnaise is a high calorie food and 57.5% of them knew the basic ingredients of mayonnaise. Most(79.3% ) of housewives perceived that cholesterol which is rich in egg yolk is related to cardiovascular disease and arteriosclerosis. Among family members, children showed high degree in the preference for mayonnaise. 4. Comparison of the low cholesterol mayonnaise which was made by egg white for egg yolk with commercial product was made by sensory evaluation and mechanical test. The viscosity and turbidity did not show any difference. Overall taste of low cholesterol mayonnaise was better than of commercial product. Based on these results of this study provided useful information for development of egg-white mayonnaise (low-cholesterol mayonnaise) and expected the possibility of using low cholesterol mayonnaise will be high.

범이론적 모형(Transtheoretical Model)에 근거한 중년여성의 운동행동 변화단계 예측요인 (Predictors of Stage of Change for Exercise Behaviors among Middle Aged Women based on the Tanstheoretical Model)

  • Purpose: The study was performed to investigate the predictors associated transition with each stage of exercise behavior based to the Transtheoretical Model, and to provide basic data for exercise behavior programs for middle aged women. Methods: The subjects consisted of 434 women residing in B city by convenience sampling. The collected data were analyzed with multiple logistic regression using SPSS/WIN program. Results: The predictors of transition from precontemplation to contemplation were consciousness raising(OR=2.095, 95% CI: 1.305-3.363), Reinforcement management(OR= 1.903, 95% CI: 1.107-3.271), Stimulus control (OR=2.176, 95% CI:1.239-3.820), Menstrual status (OR=5.327, 95% CI: 1.110-25.562). The predictors of transition from contemplation to preparation were Helping relationship(OR= 1.671, 95% CI: 1.065-2.662), Pros(OR=2.500, 95% CI: 1.254-4.982), Perceived Health status (OR=.178, 95% CI: .041-.770). The predictor of transition from preparation to action was Stimulus control(OR=1.918, 95% CI: 1.103- 3.336). The predictors of transition from action to maintenance were Consciousness raising(OR= 1.939, 95% CI: 1.031-3.647), Dramatic relief (OR=2.249, 95% CI: 1.025-4.931). Conclusions: Adequate examination on the factors, which can predict the transitional stages of change exercise behaviors among middle aged women, which is presented in this study. The results of this study will become the pillar of exercise intervention program planning and application.

스마트폰 무선 충전기 구매에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wireless Battery Charger of Purchase to Intention for Smartphone)

  • 최근 경제발전과 정보통신기술의 발달에 따라 스마트폰 시장이 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. 무선충전기 시장의 전망은 꾸준히 상승하고 있으며, 최근의 경우 2010년 1억 2,390만 달러 수준에서 2011년 8억 8,580만 달러로 약 6배정도 성장하였으며, 2014년에는 180억 달러 규모에 이를 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이 기술 분야에 대한 관심은 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 추세이며 관련 상품도 지속적으로 등장하고 있다. 연구대상은 경남과 전북지역에 거주하는 모바일 사용자 76명을 대상으로 설문을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 응답자의 대부분인 약 88%가 무선 충전기가 무엇인지 설명할 수 있다고 응답하였다. 그리고 응답자의 약 70%는 차후 스마트폰 교체 시기에는 무선충전을 고려한 제품을 선택하겠다고 응답하였다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 이론적 실무적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

Compliance with Respiratory Infection Preventive Behaviors and Its related Factors in Older Adults using a Senior Center

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors related to compliance with respiratory infection preventive behaviors including hand washing, cough etiquette, and oral hygiene of older adults. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a convenience sample of 100 older adults (mean age: $76.11{\pm}6.35$ years, female: 86.0%). Data were collected from a community senior center through face to face interviews by using instruments including measuring knowledge, perceived threat, self-efficacy, compliance with respiratory infection preventive behaviors. Results: The mean score of knowledge was 7.52 out of 13 in total. The compliance with hand washing with soap was 6.0% for 8 or more times per day. Among the participants, 12.0% adhered to the cough etiquette. Sixty-two older adults (62.0%) didn't use interdental brushes or floss at all. The stepwise linear regression indicated that age and self-efficacy for respiratory infection preventive behaviors were significant factors and explained 24.0% of the compliance with hand washing and the cough etiquette. Education level, cancer diagnosis, and self-efficacy for respiratory infection preventive behaviors were significant predictors of oral hygiene. The factor with the greatest effect was self-efficacy in the two models. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it is necessary to improve compliance with respiratory infection preventive behaviors among older adults using senior centers. In order to enhance the compliance, it is necessary to develop nursing programs based on the self-efficacy for respiratory infection preventive behaviors in the senior centers.

식기류와 식판을 이용한 밥, 국과 반찬들의 인지량, 섭취량 및 포만도의 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis of Perception Volume, Intake Volume, and Satiety Rate of Rice, Soup and Side Dishes Using Tableware and Food Tray)

  • The perception volume, intake volume, and satiety rate of rice, soup, and side dishes using tableware and food trays were analyzed. Rice, beef, soup, and side dishes in tableware (1st week) and the same menu in food trays (2nd week) were served to twenty-nine female college students over two consecutive weeks (BMI 22.1 kg/㎡, Age 22.9 yr). The results showed that the perceived volume of soup served in tableware was significantly higher than when served in a food tray. On the other hand, except for the perception volume of soup (tableware: 174.80±19.40 g, food tray: 136.14±12.77 g, P<0.05), there was no significant difference in the food perception volume and food intake volume using tableware and food trays between the two groups. The satiety rate of the food tray group (6.68) was significantly higher than that of the tableware group (7.42) after one hour (P<0.05). However, except after one hour, the two groups' satiety rate showed a similar pattern. In most of the comparisons, the results showed no difference between table ware and food trays. Besides, the use of food trays has advantages in terms of easy to manage and convenience. Therefore, food trays might be a better option instead of a tableware.

지역축제 매력성에 대한 지역주민 인식이 지역자긍심에 미치는 영향 -동래읍성역사축제를 중심으로- (The Effect of Perceived Attractiveness of Local Festival on the Esteem of Residents -Focusing on Dongnae Historical Festival-)

  • 본 연구는 지역축제의 성공적 개최 및 사회문화적 파급효과를 높이기 위해 동래읍성역사축제를 대상으로 지역주민들의 축제에 대한 매력성, 축제만족도 및 지역자긍심 간의 영향관계를 파악하는데 연구목적이 있다. 자료수집은 2013년 10월 11일부터 13일까지 동래읍성역사축제를 방문한 지역주민 223명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과, 지역축제의 매력성은 지역주민의 축제만족에 유의한 영향관계를 보였으며, 축제만족은 지역주민들의 지역자긍심에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 축제의 매력성 중에서 지역축제의 신기성과 재미성이 강력한 영향력을 행사하며, 축제의 내용성, 독특성, 편의성 등이 모두 지역주민의 만족을 유인하는 강력한 수단이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 도출결과를 바탕으로 이론적 실무적 시사점들이 논의되었다.

영국인을 대상으로 한 고추장 제품의 정성적 소비자 조사 (A Consumer Study of Gochujang Products Using Focus Group Interviews in the UK)

  • To investigate the market potential for developing Gochujang(a traditional Korean hot pepper soybean paste) products in the UK including the European market, a qualitative consumer study utilizing focus groups was conducted on the $23rd{\sim}25^{th}$ of May, 2005. The focus group approach utilizes small groups of consumers and is very effective in determining the ways in which a product can be used, by examining consumer perceptions on the overall sensory properties of a product as well as variations in taste, flavour, and texture. A series of six consumer group studies were carried out in three different locations around the UK. Each group involved approximately eight respondents(a total of 48 respondents) and ran for at least 90 minutes. The respondents were recruited by specific criteria to achieve a cross-section of ages and genders. All respondents purchased, prepared, and ate home-cooked Oriental/Far Eastern cuisine. Consumer reactions to Gochujang in its traditional form, and in manufactured products, were explored in terms of appearance, texture, flavour, and taste the consumers' perceived uses and applications for products were also examined. Many consumers were familiar with ethnic cuisines such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, and Tex/Mex, already preparing these foods using various convenience products at home at least twice a week. However, Korean cuisine was not mentioned by any of the respondents. The Gochujang sauce presented during the interview had broad based appeal mainly as a dipping sauce, and to a lesser degree as a marinade. Traditional Gochujang has the potential to inspire consumers who are looking for novel and authentic world cuisine products. From the sensory evaluations of various prototypes developed according to consumer reactions during the focus group interviews, three prototypes(a sauce for chicken, dipping sauce type, and BBQ sauce type) were determined for further consumer preference studies.

폐경 후 여성 골다공증과 낙상의 실태 및 골절 위험 예측요인 (Incidence of Osteoporosis and Falls and Predictors of Fracture Risk in Postmenopausal Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence of osteoporosis and falls and their consequences, and to identify predictors of fracture risk in the postmenopausal women. Methods: A total of 687 postmenopausal women were recruited through a stratified convenience sampling. A structured questionnaire was used to obtain osteoporosis and fall history and details of their most recent fall. To predict fracture risk factors, we collected demographic and physical health variables related osteoporosis and fall. Fracture risk was measured by FRAX$^{(R)}$ to calculate 10-year probability of major osteoporotic and hip fracture. Results: The prevalence of osteoporosis was 22.1%, and 66.4% of them had treatments for osteoporosis. The incidence of falls during the past year was 19.2% and 38.6% of those who fell suffered consequent fractures. Women with history of osteoporosis and falls were significant predictors of 10-year probability of major osteoporotic and hip fracture. Other significant predictors were history of fracture, chronic disease, surgical menopause, lower BMI, poorer perceived health and no job. Conclusion: It appears that history of osteoporosis and falls are main predictors of fracture risk. Nursing assessment should be performed by detail history taking for osteoporosis, fall, chronic disease, and fracture to screen fracture risk group among postmenopausal women.
