According to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning's survey of information gap, smartphone retention rate of disabled people stayed in one-third of non-disabled people, the situation is significantly less access to information for people with disabilities than non-disabled people. In this paper, we develop an application, CallHelper, that helps to be more convenient to use mobile voice calls to the auditory disabled people. CallHelper runs automatically when a call comes in, translates caller's voice to text output on the mobile screen, and displays the emotion reasoning from the caller's voice to visualize emoticons. It also saves voice, translated text, and emotion data that can be played back.

According to the KT telecommunication statistics, people stayed inside their houses on an average of 11.9 hours a day. As well as, according to NSC statistics in the united states, people regardless of age are injured for a variety of reasons in their houses. For purposes of this research, we have investigated an abnormal event detection algorithm to classify infrequently occurring behaviors as accidents, health emergencies, etc. in their daily lives. We propose a fusion method that combines three classification algorithms with vision pattern, audio pattern, and activity pattern to detect unusual user events. The vision pattern algorithm identifies people and objects based on video data collected through home CCTV. The audio and activity pattern algorithms classify user audio and activity behaviors using the data collected from built-in sensors on their smartphones in their houses. We evaluated the proposed individual pattern algorithm and fusion method based on multiple scenarios.

This study aims to find out how taste recognition differs between two groups of culinary arts students. We conducted a questionnaire survey on minimum sensitivity and minimum tastiness for four basic tastes. The first group consisted of 40 students in their first year, and the second group consists of 56 students in their second year and third year. The survey shows that both groups preferred medium saltiness, and the second group was more favorable to sweetness than the first group. The sweet and the pungent tastes were more favored than sourness and less favored than bitterness by both groups of subjects. The amount of the sample required for minimum tastiness shows that the freshmen had a higher sensitivity than the sophomore and junior students. Contrary to a common belief that people who have more experience in cooking would have a more sensitive taste, this study shows that taste sensitivity does not always accord with cooking experience. Rather, it depends on individual differences and current health status. Further research should be needed for various sensory test method and more kitchen experienced people who has more working years after graduate college.

Newspaper reader mobile applications using text-to-speech (TTS) function enable blind people to read newspaper contents. But, tables cannot be easily read by the reader program because most of the tables are stored as images in the contents. Even though we try to use OCR (Optical character reader) programs to recognize letters from the table images, it cannot be simply applied to the table reading function because the table structure is unknown to the readers. Therefore, identification of exact location of each table cell that contains the text of the table is required beforehand. In this paper, we propose an efficient image processing algorithm to recognize all the cells in tables by identifying columns and rows in table images. From the cell location data provided by the table column and row identification algorithm, we can generate table structure information and table reading scenarios. Our experimental results with table images found commonly in newspapers show that our cell identification approach has 100% accuracy for simple black and white table images and about 99.7% accuracy for colored and complicated tables.

Smartphones provide blind users with screenreader as an accessibility tool. However, blind users often experience difficulties accessing online shopping malls via smartphones due to their inconsistent and image-based layouts. To enable screenreader users to get access to the detailed information about products while they are shopping online, we have developed BarrierFreeShop, an accessible mobile shopping application for people with visual impairments. BarrierFreeShop has three accessibility features: (1) layout automation, (2) review summarization, and (3) optical character recognition. We conducted a user study with 80 participants with visual impairments where they were asked to use BarrierFreeShop for a month. The findings revealed the effectiveness of our app in terms of speed and post interview feedback. We have also discovered typical shopping experiences that participants had during the test. This research suggests that computer vision technologies can improve accessibility issues in online shopping malls. In addition, we have confirmed that extracting contents from images help people with visual impairments to get better access to product information.

Due to the problem of matching between virtual world space and real-world space, the reality of augmented reality content is rather low. There are many reasons for this result, firstly virtual object is rendered without considering relation between real-world space and virtual world space. Secondly, virtual objects rely too much on the marker to reduce reality. We propose two schemes to improve the reality of augmented reality, one is people occlusion, the other is to reduce the dependence of virtual objects on the marker.

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the oral health assessment and satisfaction according to recognition and beneficiary oral health projects for oral health promotion of the elderly. Methods: The subjects were elderly over 65 years old in Jeonbuk province. The study instrument was structured questionnaire including general characteristics, oral care condition, recognition of project, satisfaction of project, geriatric oral health assessment index, life satisfaction. For data analysis, the study used independent t-test, one way ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis. Results: The subjects of this study were well aware of the perceived health status of oral health projects. Satisfaction scaling project was the highest in the satisfaction of the received projects. People who recognized the oral health project had a high oral health assessment index. People who benefit from oral health project showed higher satisfaction in life. Conclusions: As for the elderly's perception on oral health care, they showed higher oral health assessment index and life satisfaction.

A teacher evaluation system is a hot issue of educational policy these days. Many teachers have opposed teacher evaluation system, but government and many parents have agreed teacher evaluation system. And some people agree teacher evaluation system, but some people disagree teacher evaluation system. The approvers of teacher evaluation system insist that teacher evaluation system can provide the quality of instruction, satisfaction of schooling, and nation's competition capacity. But opponents of teacher evaluation system insist that teacher evaluation system can provide dissatisfaction of teachers' job, excessive competition among teachers, and the failure of educational policy. So, comprehensive studies about teacher evaluation system are needed. The purpose of this study was to investigate that elementary and secondary teachers' recognition about teacher evaluation system. The tool of this study was used questionnaire which was made by researcher of this study. This study indicates as follows. Many teachers opposed teacher evaluation system, because of deficit of validity and reliability of teacher evaluation system. Also, many teachers indicated instruction ability as the most important evaluation standard of teacher evaluation system. And many teachers predicted the dissatisfaction of teachers' job and excessive competition among teachers as a result of teacher evaluation system.

This study carried out a survey which is related to food safety in food business in order to find out interest in food safety and to get awareness of food safety in food business. The research was done through surveys for the people in the Seoul Metropolitan area. 232 out of 250 answers were used in analyzing frequency, factor, $x^2$-test, and t-test through SPSS Win 12.0. There are three main factors of food safety in food business. The first is food borne illness(65.9%), the second is trans-fat(63.4%), and the third is remained agrichemicals(58.5%). Basically, women consider food safety more seriously than men do, and married women than unmarried women. Women were unsatisfied with the government's regulations than men were, married women than unmarried women. Women more consider awareness of food safety than men do, married women than unmarried women. Overall, unmarried women worried about their eating stuff seriously than any other group does. People consider food safety first, more and more these days, therefore, we need special management programs and regulations to focus on food safety and to support many studies about food safety.

Urban outdoor playground serves as the space to promote the physical, cognitive, social, creative, emotional and linguistic development of children and the education center to stimulate the imagination and curiosity of them. It is also the place to be used as a basic park for urban residents and the local community space for associating with people of various levels. However, this playground as a banal space did not function properly before now. In 21st century, urban playground requires change and its various changes have been attempted. In particular, there is a need for the change into eco-friendly playground to provide children's health and urban healthy environment. Therefore, it requires much effort to construct and vitalize the eco-friendly playground adequate for domestic circumstances in Korea. This study derived the preferred planning items among eco-friendly playground planning elements focused on the people to use it and provided the data for the construction of local friendly, eco-friendly outdoor playground. For this purpose, we visited the playground of the apartment house built in 10 years with more than 300 households and surveyed 200 adults and investigated the residents' utilization and satisfaction on the current playground and the recognition and preference for eco-friendly playground.
